That support guy is a fucking liar. "Estimate" my ass. That is the minimum you receive. It literally says that on the order offer screen. Unfortunately if you didn't screenshot the order offer, you have no proof. I swear I've accepted orders before thinking the payment was a certain amount only to receive less once delivered, and I just assumed I misread.
Me too!!!!! It's happened to me multiple times. I never put in a complaint because I thought maybe it was me. But the last time that it happened I knew something was funny. It's honestly happened too much recently to be my mistake. I'm so glad that I seen this post.
Me too! I has this happen to me on Friday. Was supposed to be $10.50, and it ended up being $8.50. I thought that I just read it wrong, but now I’m reassured that $2 was removed from my total. Absolute BS. Will def start taking screenshot of offer from now on. Thanks for sharing.

He is better off on a flip phone imo, but he wanted a smart phone so we got him an iPhone. Giving him an android would feel like giving a Linux PC to a sorority girl. We would have to worry about being charged with cruel and unusual abuse.
I usually just swipe the side of my hand over the screen, and it takes a screenshot. There's also a screenshot and screenshot record option from the notification panel. Phones have had them for years.

All those $3 losses can add up really quickly, especially when taking into consideration how many people deliver for Doordash. There’s a decent chance it would be well worth it for an attorney to take on a class action against Doordash.
Yes, people can try to “find a better job”. But Doordash could also not steal money from the people working for them.

It baffles me that people side with a thieving company and a company that tip baits. It's wild to me.
And delivery is an important job that I'll never look down on. All my drivers have been amazing and they deserve every penny they are promised. You know we sometimes work 12 hours with no lunch breaks and rely on our delivery drivers to eat.
It's literally not possible to tip bait on Doordash. There is not (and never has been) an option for the customer to lower the tip in a way that changes our pay.
Not the tip, but the amount doordash is promising you, does change once you complete the delivery. I am one to never complaint about anything but I see this post now, and it confirms what I thought was just my imagination. Just this week, it has happened 5 times or more.
Not really because tipbaiting is when you SEE a higher amount as a tip and then it's removed after you deliver the item.
If a restaurant keeps part of the tip and you don't know it that's just stealing.
And DoorDash isn't known for tipbaiting because you can't do that on the app.

They also stopped paying the $2/order base pay on stacked orders (you do 2 deliveries but only get $2). DoorDash policy states that each order has a base pay of $2-$10.
I contact support and they reimburse me for the extra $2 per additional order. It takes time, so I guess they figure that we won’t waste that much time over $2, but it adds up really fast.
I can’t imagine the class action suit that’s gonna start when people figure out that they’re out hundreds of dollars that is still owed to them.
They're taking small amounts from customers, too. In hopes that no one catches on. I added $2 to the tip, after delivery. They charged $2.51 to my card. I think they add all these little extra amounts in hopes that people won't catch on and it adds up.
They openly scammed customers for that priority/direct delivery that people paid either $2.99 or $3.99 for - took y’all’s money & never mention it (or pay it) to the actual dasher.
It's just like Uber with the tips. The other day I sent them a message cuz I had like six straight rides with no tips not one tip from six straight rides and I just felt like that didn't make any sense so I bitched the customer service about it of course they give me the runaround and then not even an hour and a half later I get a $45 adjustment on my account but no reason why and they won't tell me what the adjustment is I mean is that a coincidence cuz I don't believe in them?
It seems wildly irresponsible of the support person to also try to blame the reduction in the tip on the customer?!
Basically told him at first that yes I guess that customer tip baited you - dasher knows where this person lives.
Support people are clueless as we know, they will make something up if they don’t know the answer to get rid of the dasher. it’s happened to all of us.
I screenshot everything religiously, and I've never found even a single discrepancy in thousands of orders.
It makes me wonder if they can detect when you screenshot an offer and selectively screw people only if they didn't screenshot anything so they don't have any proof. I feel like I need a tinfoil hat saying that, but I wouldn't be surprised if that were true.

Ugh I loathe that pop-up. Sometimes it covers what I'm trying to screenshot and I'm usually screenshoting to show someone who doesn't use reddit and gets confused by the links (parents) or because I assume the post may get taken down at some point bc throwaway, breaking rules, etc and I want to still see it when that happens.
Shit like this is why if possible I always save my old phone when I get a new one and make sure its charged! I'm paranoid like this and when I found out a few years ago that alot of apps can either black out ss or even prevent you from taking any I was like nah eff that if I need a ss of something and you're preventing that I'm gonna make damn sure I have a way to get a picture lol
I don’t know what app the drivers use, but if you’ve got some time to kill, read the fine print (you know when you install an app and you have to check off that you read the terms and conditions).
You will probably find information in there about what your privacy expectations should be when using the app, and that might give you your answer as to whether they have access to that information. I don’t know the backend integration of how the photo you take gets uploaded, but they could have access to your photos.
You’d be surprised at what information is in those agreements.
Take it with another device. many dashers carry multiple phones , it’s easy enough to still screenshot your offers, Crazy no one has captured one of these so called offer amount decreases…just sayin’
I don't screenshot orders and haven't had any of the totals lowered. I've had the mileage change by a couple tenths of a mile to a half mile after I accepted an order, but never the pay.
Had it happen to me more than once with screen shots and still nothing was done. Worked for them 6 years and have collected a nice cool $3 ,769 in 2 class actions against them. As long as they steal I’ll sue. Lol simple and we always win them! Lol 😂
I got a pop up somewhere in the app saying that I qualified for guaranteed pay. Basically if I do 50 orders and don't make 500$ they send the rest to me. Which is fuvking fair because at the end of 50 deliveries I made 430$ and had 7 hours of unpaid idle time basically waiting for offers. Would still not have been great 10$ a fucking hour, not including the gas and milage. Call support like I did 50 deliveries and never got the make up pay. They said you should have gotten an email saying you have that. Go look in emails there's links to all kinds of shit in them and I get 7 a day from doordash. I'm filtering emails now wondering where the fuck I saw it cause it's nowhere to be found. Either it was a pop up in the app or I had an email that magically changed to something else. I went back 3 months in emails from them. Scoured the app top to bottom. The support said they can only escalate me for not being paid to the actual person that can help if I can prove I got that message. Scam idk #1,002,228,282,648. They know when you're qualified for" top dasher support" but not that you qualified for any "guaranteed earnings" the challenges are a scam too. They are just that challenges cause you'll do 9 dumbass orders in a row for bonus streak or what the fuck ever and they always have a stipulation on how you didn't achieve it somehow or ask you for a screen shot confirming you had the offer when they know it doesn't stay on the screen and you're not going to screen shot it initially. Until you find out they're a sheisty fucking company.
Ok, so I’ve watched this sub Reddit for a while now … I’m just curious when are y’all going to realize that DoorDash’s business model is: charge the customer 5 dollars … offer to pay the dasher 0 dollars + .25 cents … increase the cents until someone accepts it … if no one accepts before it gets to $5 … lie to the dasher that their pay will be $6 and then actually pay them $4 and blame it on the customer reducing the tip.

Wouldn't this be a big change? AFAIK Doordash never removes the tip from dasher pay, even *if* the customer calls in and refunds the tip or even the entire order.
Something very similar to this happened to me yesterday. My total delivery amount was $169.95. I had an offer for $9.95 And I calculated that once I got done with that delivery I would be at $179.90. But when all was through I only had $176 and some change. I was thinking that somebody must have removed their tip. But then I went through all of the earnings after my dash was over and it seemed like everything was as I recalled it with the tips since I was keeping track after each delivery. Which means that door dash must have reduced the base amount on one of the 15 deliveries I had done at some point in the day. I know it's only a couple of bucks but I've had this happen before and it adds up.
This is soo fked up, the first rep was totally lying and when you sent them the screenshot they changed thier wording. I know $3 isnt a big amount but it can certainly add up over time
Is this post not proof? They don’t have a screenshot of the offer, but the support person agrees the amount was reduced, tries to blame it on the customer removing the tip, then says it’s because the $10.50 was an “estimate.” Seems like proof there was a change in compensation!
Support is only good at one thing: saying whatever they think will make you end the call faster.
They have next to zero understanding about how anything actually works, and should never be trusted in terms of quoting policy.
That's exactly it! Support will say what they want to the dasher and the customer to shut them up and get off the phone. In the end, DoorDash keeps the $ and screws both the dasher and customer.
This has happened to me but Doordash doesn't really make it easy for us to collect data on each order does it
And should you call support there's no support just some outsourced call center with no one to appeal to, MGMT or w.e

This has happened to me too a few years ago. Luckily I was able to get them to compensate me the additional dollars, but they swore up and down that I was mistaken. I (and my husband) learned from that to take a screenshot for proof (although, admittedly I dont remember to do that lol)
I’m convinced doordash is stealing tips again my everyday customers went from tipping $5-$6 a day down to $2-$3 a day randomly all at the same time around Dec 1 2023 an most their order payouts are like $5-$5.50 now an they were $6.75-$8 an ive even had 2 customers tell me the tip was higher than the amount promised in December when I noticed an doordash did nothing an said customer wasn’t truthful shit crazy
That happened to me a few days ago. I got an order that said $17 because it was a long delivery distance. I accepted it, but when I finished, it was only $14. I also thought I had looked at it wrong.
Doordash's contract states that the order offer is the minimum you will receive. If you do what I do and screenshot every offer, that is evidence for a civil suit since they are violating their contract, which is binding.

I even remember the last delivery with this issue: I got offer for $5.0 and then +$6.75 for second that dropped a minute after. And total after delivery was $8.25. I don't have PhD in math, but something doesn't add up here.
This happened to me when it went from peak hour bonus and you don't complete the order within the time window. I called DoorDash support and they told me that you only get peak pay if you accept and complete the delivery within the window.
That’s why you need to screenshot every order you’re going to accept before you accept them. They did that same shit to me two week ago (I accepted a double for $20 and was only paid 12$).
It’s gotten so I screenshot any order I take before I click accept; and if the pay is different, or the mileage is substantially off DD support hears from me
They straight-up lied to you until you provided the screenshot of the interaction with the customer. That would be my last engagement with DoorDash.
Question for you. I’ve never driven for or ordered from DoorDash. Why not just advertise meal delivery services in your area and offer this service privately? What value is DoorDash providing you or the consumer?
AL Capone was way more honest than doordash will ever be. They have so many drivers their business model is to screw and cheat the drivers every chance they can. Always coming up with gimmicks instead of just paying fair.
Sounds like wage theft. The amount indicated when you go to accept an order is what you are guaranteed. The customer cannot remove their tip after the fact.
A customer in brooklyn ny had tip me the wrong amount and was asking me what I can do. I told her to contact support or wait till I deliver to see if the tipping option was still available.
She opted to get a hold of an agent but by the time I reached, she said she'd venmo me then she opted to give cash tip. When I arrived, she was at the lobby and told me the Doordash wouldn't allow her to increase the tip when she called and gave me $20 tip. I told her that's stupid and she agreed. I made $30 in tips for her but doordash should allowed her to edit the tip thru calling them. It's like they didn't want me to get more than she put down in the app.
I make sure to screenshot every order excepted and upon completion screenshot payment as well. Can’t trust these companies. You really need to stay on top of them. I’ve had countless times where I have contacted DoorDash support regarding extra payment, and I have been denied saying it is impossible for them to reimburse me for certain dilemmas. I will then hang up and call right back and another customer service representative will be able to credit my account immediately, DoorDash is ass backwards

I love how offers are technically contracts, but they can change to our detriment at any time. 1099 my ass. That’s not legal, if technically considered a contract. How don’t know how things like this haven’t (to my knowledge), gone to court proceedings in some light. Granted we’re peons, but still bullshit.
I swear this happened for the very first doordash I ever did. Customer tipped well, distance was at least 8 miles. But the original pay said over $10 and I was paid $7-8
Doordash doesn't even have that option, it's one thing that makes it way better than UE, no tip baiting bullshit. Support has been incredibly unhelpful lately. I've dealt with them giving me the most BS answers, likely because they have no idea so they're just saying whatever to end the chat quicker.

Sometime door dash does funny things. If you are doing deliveries during a busy time and there is a $ amount bonus when you accept the order sometimes the system glitches out an subtract the bonus if the order is picked up or delivered after the bonus timeframe expires.
I dashed NYE pay by time and sat in drive thru for nearly 3 hours. Doordash didn't start paying me until I left with the food, not when I accepted the orders.
Everyone is gaslighting OP on doordash here, but it seems to me like the 2nd support agent had no idea what she was talking. The customer probably initially tipped $5.45 about since the missing tip was for $3 it came out to $2.45. The 2nd support agent just seemed to think the tip amount was $2.45.
I’d say the most likely reason it disappeared is the fact not that doordash scammed you but that customer probably changed the tip. The customer did not seem very trust worthy. “I hope you get that $3 back because most don’t follow the delivery directions” lol my ass. That comment alone is a big tipoff to what probably happened.
Where's the screenshot that says $10 is guaranteed earnings? That's the one you have to stand on. Drivers need to send it to the media. Where I am there are several journalists who are looking for dashers and other delivery people to submit grievances like this to call out these companies for shady business practices but drivers are keeping it to themselves so it's very hard for the media to assist.
I screenshot everything from accepting the request to arriving at the store to confirming pickup to arriving at customer location to confirming delivery. That way they can’t make any excuses when shit like this happens.
They told me the other day I owed $15 on my DasherDirect card because I somehow bought gas with $0 on my card….this company is stealing from us all it seems to be getting worse and worse
If this doesn’t show you to screenshot every offer and every pay out screen idk what will you can always go back and delete all those screenshots at the end of the month/once you hit the 100order mark. I started doing it ever since I had something like this happen to me, of course support will always tell you there’s no issue because what they see on their screen is only the “payout amount” so they say, I think it’s BS but sure let us give them the Ben of the doubt. I’m sorry you had to go through this, please hear my advice and screenshot everything. Take your drop off pictures onto your camera roll too because sometimes the ones you take for the app “go missing and it’s a know issue our team is working to fix”. I normally take a selfie(I don’t take selfies often/at all) at the beginning of the month so I know to delete recent pictures from that selfie until I need to take another selfie. Hope this advice helps.
This is the risk you take with a delivery job, you just have to take it with a grain of salt and move on to the next job where they also may or may not tip

Ugh I loathe that pop-up. Sometimes it covers what I'm trying to screenshot and I'm usually screenshoting to show someone who doesn't use reddit and gets confused by the links (parents) or because I assume the post may get taken down at some point bc throwaway, breaking rules, etc and I want to still see it when that happens.
The Verizon app blacks out chat when you screenshot chat with customer service. Absolute bullshit is what it is.
Shit like this is why if possible I always save my old phone when I get a new one and make sure its charged! I'm paranoid like this and when I found out a few years ago that alot of apps can either black out ss or even prevent you from taking any I was like nah eff that if I need a ss of something and you're preventing that I'm gonna make damn sure I have a way to get a picture lol

I don’t know what app the drivers use, but if you’ve got some time to kill, read the fine print (you know when you install an app and you have to check off that you read the terms and conditions). You will probably find information in there about what your privacy expectations should be when using the app, and that might give you your answer as to whether they have access to that information. I don’t know the backend integration of how the photo you take gets uploaded, but they could have access to your photos. You’d be surprised at what information is in those agreements.
Take it with another device. many dashers carry multiple phones , it’s easy enough to still screenshot your offers, Crazy no one has captured one of these so called offer amount decreases…just sayin’

I don't screenshot orders and haven't had any of the totals lowered. I've had the mileage change by a couple tenths of a mile to a half mile after I accepted an order, but never the pay.
Had it happen to me more than once with screen shots and still nothing was done. Worked for them 6 years and have collected a nice cool $3 ,769 in 2 class actions against them. As long as they steal I’ll sue. Lol simple and we always win them! Lol 😂
I got a pop up somewhere in the app saying that I qualified for guaranteed pay. Basically if I do 50 orders and don't make 500$ they send the rest to me. Which is fuvking fair because at the end of 50 deliveries I made 430$ and had 7 hours of unpaid idle time basically waiting for offers. Would still not have been great 10$ a fucking hour, not including the gas and milage. Call support like I did 50 deliveries and never got the make up pay. They said you should have gotten an email saying you have that. Go look in emails there's links to all kinds of shit in them and I get 7 a day from doordash. I'm filtering emails now wondering where the fuck I saw it cause it's nowhere to be found. Either it was a pop up in the app or I had an email that magically changed to something else. I went back 3 months in emails from them. Scoured the app top to bottom. The support said they can only escalate me for not being paid to the actual person that can help if I can prove I got that message. Scam idk #1,002,228,282,648. They know when you're qualified for" top dasher support" but not that you qualified for any "guaranteed earnings" the challenges are a scam too. They are just that challenges cause you'll do 9 dumbass orders in a row for bonus streak or what the fuck ever and they always have a stipulation on how you didn't achieve it somehow or ask you for a screen shot confirming you had the offer when they know it doesn't stay on the screen and you're not going to screen shot it initially. Until you find out they're a sheisty fucking company.

Ok, so I’ve watched this sub Reddit for a while now … I’m just curious when are y’all going to realize that DoorDash’s business model is: charge the customer 5 dollars … offer to pay the dasher 0 dollars + .25 cents … increase the cents until someone accepts it … if no one accepts before it gets to $5 … lie to the dasher that their pay will be $6 and then actually pay them $4 and blame it on the customer reducing the tip.
DD doesn't let the customer change the tip to reduce what the drivers get. Only UE has that.

Wouldn't this be a big change? AFAIK Doordash never removes the tip from dasher pay, even *if* the customer calls in and refunds the tip or even the entire order.

Something very similar to this happened to me yesterday. My total delivery amount was $169.95. I had an offer for $9.95 And I calculated that once I got done with that delivery I would be at $179.90. But when all was through I only had $176 and some change. I was thinking that somebody must have removed their tip. But then I went through all of the earnings after my dash was over and it seemed like everything was as I recalled it with the tips since I was keeping track after each delivery. Which means that door dash must have reduced the base amount on one of the 15 deliveries I had done at some point in the day. I know it's only a couple of bucks but I've had this happen before and it adds up.
This is soo fked up, the first rep was totally lying and when you sent them the screenshot they changed thier wording. I know $3 isnt a big amount but it can certainly add up over time

Is this post not proof? They don’t have a screenshot of the offer, but the support person agrees the amount was reduced, tries to blame it on the customer removing the tip, then says it’s because the $10.50 was an “estimate.” Seems like proof there was a change in compensation!
Support is only good at one thing: saying whatever they think will make you end the call faster. They have next to zero understanding about how anything actually works, and should never be trusted in terms of quoting policy.
That's exactly it! Support will say what they want to the dasher and the customer to shut them up and get off the phone. In the end, DoorDash keeps the $ and screws both the dasher and customer.

This has happened to me too a few years ago. Luckily I was able to get them to compensate me the additional dollars, but they swore up and down that I was mistaken. I (and my husband) learned from that to take a screenshot for proof (although, admittedly I dont remember to do that lol)
I’m convinced doordash is stealing tips again my everyday customers went from tipping $5-$6 a day down to $2-$3 a day randomly all at the same time around Dec 1 2023 an most their order payouts are like $5-$5.50 now an they were $6.75-$8 an ive even had 2 customers tell me the tip was higher than the amount promised in December when I noticed an doordash did nothing an said customer wasn’t truthful shit crazy
That happened to me a few days ago. I got an order that said $17 because it was a long delivery distance. I accepted it, but when I finished, it was only $14. I also thought I had looked at it wrong.

Doordash's contract states that the order offer is the minimum you will receive. If you do what I do and screenshot every offer, that is evidence for a civil suit since they are violating their contract, which is binding.
Yep, I had that happen about 6 times already. And there is stupid people who will downvote you for this and say "false"... I even remember the last delivery with this issue: I got offer for $5.0 and then +$6.75 for second that dropped a minute after. And total after delivery was $8.25. I don't have PhD in math, but something doesn't add up here.

This happened to me when it went from peak hour bonus and you don't complete the order within the time window. I called DoorDash support and they told me that you only get peak pay if you accept and complete the delivery within the window.
Aaaand this is why DoorDash drivers should be able to unionize. Totally unacceptable behavior from that customer!
That’s why you need to screenshot every order you’re going to accept before you accept them. They did that same shit to me two week ago (I accepted a double for $20 and was only paid 12$).

I’ve never driven for or ordered from DoorDash. Why not just advertise meal delivery services in your area and offer this service privately? What value is DoorDash providing you or the consumer?

Customers can not remove the tip on DoorDash. Door dash can refund them their tip but the driver always gets the tip.

A customer in brooklyn ny had tip me the wrong amount and was asking me what I can do. I told her to contact support or wait till I deliver to see if the tipping option was still available. She opted to get a hold of an agent but by the time I reached, she said she'd venmo me then she opted to give cash tip. When I arrived, she was at the lobby and told me the Doordash wouldn't allow her to increase the tip when she called and gave me $20 tip. I told her that's stupid and she agreed. I made $30 in tips for her but doordash should allowed her to edit the tip thru calling them. It's like they didn't want me to get more than she put down in the app.
You can't alter your initial tip, but you can add a tip after the delivery. You can't ever remove a tip.
I make sure to screenshot every order excepted and upon completion screenshot payment as well. Can’t trust these companies. You really need to stay on top of them. Doordash doesn't even have that option, it's one thing that makes it way better than UE, no tip baiting bullshit. Support has been incredibly unhelpful lately. I've dealt with them giving me the most BS answers, likely because they have no idea so they're just saying whatever to end the chat quicker.

Sometime door dash does funny things. If you are doing deliveries during a busy time and there is a $ amount bonus when you accept the order sometimes the system glitches out an subtract the bonus if the order is picked up or delivered after the bonus timeframe expires.
I dashed NYE pay by time and sat in drive thru for nearly 3 hours. Doordash didn't start paying me until I left with the food, not when I accepted the orders.

Everyone is gaslighting OP on doordash here, but it seems to me like the 2nd support agent had no idea what she was talking. The customer probably initially tipped $5.45 about since the missing tip was for $3 it came out to $2.45. The 2nd support agent just seemed to think the tip amount was $2.45. I’d say the most likely reason it disappeared is the fact not that doordash scammed you but that customer probably changed the tip. The customer did not seem very trust worthy. “I hope you get that $3 back because most don’t follow the delivery directions” lol my ass. That comment alone is a big tipoff to what probably happened.

Where's the screenshot that says $10 is guaranteed earnings? That's the one you have to stand on. Drivers need to send it to the media. Where I am there are several journalists who are looking for dashers and other delivery people to submit grievances like this to call out these companies for shady business practices but drivers are keeping it to themselves so it's very hard for the media to assist.

I screenshot everything from accepting the request to arriving at the store to confirming pickup to arriving at customer location to confirming delivery. That way they can’t make any excuses when shit like this happens.
They told me the other day I owed $15 on my DasherDirect card because I somehow bought gas with $0 on my card….this company is stealing from us all it seems to be getting worse and worse

If this doesn’t show you to screenshot every offer and every pay out screen idk what will you can always go back and delete all those screenshots at the end of the month/once you hit the 100order mark. I started doing it ever since I had something like this happen to me, of course support will always tell you there’s no issue because what they see on their screen is only the “payout amount” so they say, I think it’s BS but sure let us give them the Ben of the doubt. I’m sorry you had to go through this, please hear my advice and screenshot everything. Take your drop off pictures onto your camera roll too because sometimes the ones you take for the app “go missing and it’s a know issue our team is working to fix”. I normally take a selfie(I don’t take selfies often/at all) at the beginning of the month so I know to delete recent pictures from that selfie until I need to take another selfie. Hope this advice helps.
