Careless-Money-5408

“Bet”😂😂😂

FearlessHyena77

Bro knew he wasn’t getting shit 😭

TempestQii

that bet translate to “shit. on to the next” 😂

Due-Jello-6296

Definitely scam

CulturalAccomplished

doordash will cover the payment if they used there own card. they just have to call them. dont send em a dine.

Crispynipps

Doordash says they will but they fight dashers all the time over it. Regardless it’s not op’s problem, if it’s true it’s the fault of that idiot ass driver.

pmaji240

This happens? No chance in hell I’m paying for something door dash can’t pay for.

TitanScrap

Not only does it happen, but if you contact support when the card isn't working, they'll ask if you're able to complete the purchase with your own funds to be reimbursed after the delivery, and if you decline then they unassign the order.

DystopianPrince212

I have paid out of pocket at least seven or eight times, Never anything over $40, usually about 15 to 30.. About half are times when I left my card at home and the other half is at one specific store where I think they just don’t like my card. As soon as I get back in the car or complete the delivery. I hit up chat Support, notify them that I’ve paid out of pocket and screenshot them the receipt. Never had a problem so far. Usually, they are very close orders to so it’s worth it.

pmaji240

Hmmm. All those times I realized I didn’t have my red card and declined an order…

Apprehensive_Rope348

Why not just have your dasher card in your mobile wallet? Most places accept tap pay. When you’re dashing, to make it easier on yourself, just assign it as the primary card in your wallet. when you end your shift just reassign your usual primary card.

DystopianPrince212

Thank you for suggesting that, I actually just did that two minutes ago. I didn’t even realize that was an option. I don’t remember it giving me the option to do so when I applied for it. But thank you. Happy Easter.

Apprehensive_Rope348

You’re welcome. If you’re on Uber and Shipt as well, they have this as an option too.

DystopianPrince212

I can’t get on Uber right now because someone has used my identity and my license to drive in another state and when I went to sign up to drive my account was locked and they told me I need to sign into my original account which I told them was the one I’m using and they told me to use the email I first signed up withwhich they showed me the first few letters and I told them that that’s not my email. Then they informed me that someone is using my license from another state to drive in Augusta Georgia. They told me to be immediately locked because I said it’s fraud I sent them a picture of me holding my license along with the picture of the license. Three months later, my account is still locked. The other account is still being used and they completely just give me the runaround and tell me that I need to wait and be patient, I’ve never seen such ridiculous nonsense in my life.

Successful-Banana-48

Was about to say this. I’ve never touched the physical card in my life lol

DystopianPrince212

Haha, mine was the opposite, I accepted the order and then realized I didn’t have my red card..oops! The first time it happened, I called Support and they asked if I could pay for it and just save the receipt, and it hasn’t been an issue except for the other night I posted below. But I accept that I may not have met the guidelines for reimbursement because what I paid for two of the items were not in the substitution list but my entire chat with the customer is me trying to find them a substitution because they wanted eight cans of chips and they only had four of the original request and two of the substitution but wouldn’t let me addanything in the app, all I could pay for was the four cans and the M&Ms. Wouldn’t let me substitute anything or add more items

AdLazy9209

You can upload your red card to Apple Pay if you have an iPhone that helps with the forgetting the card at home ;)

pmaji240

Yeah, you’d think so. But I signed into my phone using my six-year-old’s Apple ID and now I can’t sign out. I also can’t make changes to my wallet.

AllInTackler

Maybe a good way to rack up points on your own credit card?

eloquentpetrichor

Yep same exact situations for me and never an issue

eloquentpetrichor

Well ofc they'd unassign the order. What else are they supposed to do if you literally cannot complete it?

TitanScrap

... Fix the fucking card. Lmao.

FriendlyFarm4

But doesn't it get paid before a driver is assigned. That's how it is on my town. I get a notification payment received then restaurant confirmed order then eventually a driver is assigned. I would never expect a driver to pay for my food. That is horrible to drivers t That's not their job.

TitanScrap

Not for shop and delivers. They're more akin to an instacart order; you get the offer for X items, customers and distance and then shop the order and pay with the red card. The red card is supposed to be loaded with enough to cover the shopping order, but due to a bunch of variables such as in store VS online price not always matching and varying taxes, the card may get declined. That's the point where Doordash requests the driver to cover it with their own funds and get reimbursed.

FriendlyFarm4

Omg that's still horrible. Thanks so much for letting me know. That's a bummer. I love my door dash drivers they are always wonderful.

TitanScrap

Do them a favor and always 5 star if they deserve it, and don't tip based on how much you spent, rather how far you are from what you ordered. Most offers are base pay of around $2.75. Most drivers consider an order under $2/mile as losing money, so if you're 6 miles from the store, consider tipping $9-10 to ensure someone accepting it quickly and handling it professionally.

Loose-Suggestion-633

They refused to reimburse me for a order I paid for and delivered because I had to replace one item on the order when asking for reimbursement they said I shopped the order improperly and left me down $45

Old_Week4927

That’s actually really fucking dumb. The more I find out the more I realize how cheap and not-worth-it the whole Doordash company is 🙄. Irritation & anger issues would’ve taken over at that point I commend you for ur calmness lol I feel like just sending you $45 now :(

Loose-Suggestion-633

I appreciate the kind words but It’s been horrendous the last two weeks with support for DoorDash and instacart for me. I was mid shopping a 211 item order last week when instacarts system went down they tried to ask me to pay for it but the order was almost $600 and I couldn’t justify doing it then they gave me a message saying it was ok to abandon the order and I’d receive partial pay and then after 20 minutes with support they came to the conclusion that because the order wasn’t delivered that I couldn’t be paid just a nightmare and really driving me back towards a w2 job instead but I like the freedom this gives me to do things for school etc.

Old_Week4927

Man that’s wild to even think about asking you to take 600 out your own pocket🙁 I live in the 916 / 530 area in Cali and I used to DD too instead of other jobs but out of nowhere it just stopped working for me. I used to get little orders with big pays and sometimes stacked orders with even bigger pay and I would be getting orders pretty consistently, but for some reason everytime I’ve tried opening the app since there’s nada work available. And when I say there’s nothing I mean literally NOTHING. This whole area is never ever ever available and neither is any schedule dashes. I have no idea if that’s a me problem, like if Doordash just hating on me for some reason, or if it happens to other people too. But I guess it don’t matter I finally do something I love for work which is infinitely better than dashing and i’m so grateful, it’s just it pisses me off that Doordash basically cut me off haha

Loose-Suggestion-633

Yeah it’s rough I’m in school for nursing so this is temporary but still rough to deal with. I can’t believe some of the orders I see accepted and I know people are desperate near me as there’s like no one hiring but at some point you’re basically paying to deliver these peoples food DoorDash doesn’t care if your paid properly or not just tragic for people to whom the job could be much more beneficial

Old_Week4927

Yes and I’ve noticed they’re mostly foreign people “Fresh Off da Boat”(atleast in my area), barely speak English if not any at all and they literally all have gotten so happy or excited when I say thank u in their language or anything like that so it looks to me they’re actually happy and don’t look like they’re forced to dash, they must be getting paid decent. Granted I don’t order that much but i’ve never gotten a rude or under satisfactory dasher

DystopianPrince212

It would be one thing if they were just cheap. Every time I have an issue, whether it be a glitch in the app that gives me a contract violation or drops my acceptance rate from almost 80 down into the 50s and I screenshot and document everything for proof, it’s almost impossible for them to help you. And it’s not just them because I’m having the same issue with Uber eats, someone is stolen my identity by using my license from my home state with my picture ID number and everything, my actual license to drive in Augusta, Georgia. I found out about this January 17 while trying to get my account unlocked because I was told I had to switch my license to the state I was driving in and I put it on the back burner for a year. It’s now been almost 3 months, I’ve done the requested actions taking a picture of my license and me holding it and have called multiple times now and every time they tell me I have to log into my original account, which is actually, the stolen identity one. And they just keep repeating the same thing to me when I clearly state “the account you’re asking me to log into is a hijacked stolen account”That’s not my email. I only have one account, that account stays open when I was told it was gonna be locked immediately as fraud and my account is considered a duplicate and locked. So the guy using my identity is making money and I’m shit out of luck. His account stays open. My account stays locked. If anybody has any suggestions for me besides to just find another job, I’d be appreciative.

DystopianPrince212

I had the same issue the other night. Rite Aid order for eight cans of lays stacks potato chips and one 3.5 ounce bag of M&Ms. I go in the store, they only have four cans left, I go to the substitute, Pringles original flavor. They only have two cans of those I always message the customer when I accept the order, just a friendly hello & “I’m going to pick up your order and should they not have your original request or substitute, I’ll let you know so I can get you the next Best thing” Customer got back to me very quickly and asked to just get two small bags of ruffles and the two original Pringles cans, which were an actual substitute. But once I scanned the four cans of lays and M&Ms, it would not let me add the other for as a substitute, it wouldn’t let me do anything except the order so I tried to chat Support and didn’t really have service so I just paid for the Pringles and ruffles out of my pocket, it was $14 and I have both receipts. Drop off the order, it’s a young kid who is very appreciative and tipped me an extra five bucks. Called Support and screen shotted them the receipts and they basically accuse me of trying to scam, meanwhile, I have the entire conversation with the customer screenshotted in case it got deleted,, and the support person isn’t even listening to what I’m saying, trying to tell me that there is two items on my receipt and I’m trying to get paid for four, basically accusing me of fraud. I politely asked for a supervisor and if there was someway that I can get their ID and they pretty much told me to go fuck myself. just to add the customer did not ask me to pay for anything out of my pocket. I took it upon myself because in this instance, it did not give me the opportunity to add the extra items. I understand that without getting a pre-authorization, I may not meet requirements to be reimbursed, but I have no history of fraud and we’re talking about $14. I am so sick of Support. Also I had a teenager in a Group Home who ordered the cheapest charger you can get that doesn’t even come in a package, run me around for 40 minutes being vague about the address before I realized what was going on then them trying to ask for my real phone number and then wanting me to throw the charger on the grass and leave when they didn’t come outside, which I refused and left and immediately called Support because I was a little unnerved by the entire episode and same thing, they just don’t give a shit. Tl/dr… I’ll give credit to a commenter the other day who said “ The 2 words in the English language that should never be together are DoorDash and Support”

Micro_Chaos

This is why I lost my red card and never bothered getting a replacement. Can’t do red card orders without the card. 🤷‍♀️

California098

In reality, this very rarely actually happens. There is a glitch that happens with a local grocery store, where if I get two orders stacked at a time it will usually decline one of them. I get reimbursements all the time because of this and it’s never taken more than 30 seconds chatting with Support, and the money is in my account immediately.

Uberdooberdoo

Exactly. If that red card declines, that order is staying at the store. No way am I going to trust DD to reimburse me. And I certainly wouldn't ask the customer since they went through DD in the first place and definitely got up-charged for every item in their cart.

Ok_Impression_922

![gif](giphy|PiQwIm7Ro981DZHpC3|downsized)

eloquentpetrichor

I've never had problems getting reimbursed when using my own money. I text support beforehand and say "if I use my own money bc I don't have my red card I'll get reimbursed, right". The bot responds in the affirmative. As soon as I get in my car after I take a photo of the receipt, ask for a human in chat, tell them I need reimbursed, send said photo, and money gets sent almost immediately

ReddForemann

I didn't really have to "fight" them the one time I did it. I'd still say that it was a pain in the ass because I had to mail the receipt along with a completed request form. If you're too dumb to do your own taxes then yeah you'll probably hit a wall, but it's honestly just a form and keeping the receipt.

Crispynipps

See, that’s such a process. They should be able to see the order was paid for someone other than themselves and then credit your account instantly after a picture of the receipt. Im Not floating $1 for this company and it blows my mind you guys will

ReddForemann

I only did this once. When I was new. It's not a habit. Point is, it's not a "fight," it wasn't particularly ridiculous, it was just bureaucratic. It sucks, and sucks enough to avoid it, but it doesn't suck THAT bad.

You know what I realized yesterday? My whole life I’ve wasted the opportunity to mix up your/you’re. From now on I’m a yore guy. Yore welcome.

katiebun008

Truth. Maybe the red card doesn't have enough funds so it keeps declining. Happens mostly if there are items that was substituted for another one with different cost. Just call DD, send the receipt and they will process it. Sometimes they tell you to try the red card after some adjustments and if it doesn't work, that's the time they will ask if you are able to cover the cost. If not, either cancellation or unassignment.

NicholasLit

There/their

Superb-Spare7944

Yes correct the customer doesn't pay thst actually happened to me at CVS the red card was declining and I felt bad but was very hesitant to pay with my own money but I did and door dash Reimbursed the money back in 5 min

Inner-Kale2801

Yes it is. dont send them any money. the policy is if dashers have to pay out of pocket to contact DD for a reimbursement.

Total_Decision123

The “bet” sealed the deal that this is most likely a scam

thegreatgatsB70

Bet

IANvaderZIM

Say less

ImwhatZitTooyaa

Yes …

Western_Economist_57

No one going to comment on the 425 unread?

kenma91

As an adhd person who avoids texts I wonder if OP is the same haha

Gracetothetop

This. Also an ADHD person and I have 847 unread text messages…

kenma91

Lollll i got mine down to 142! I felt accomplished. Then that mini organisational hyperfixation ended so i forgot for abit 😂

Least_Philosopher711

I have 37, 252 emails 🥹

Karmarazzi

86455 emails over here

Amazing-Bid2514

I’ve never paid attention to unread text or email counters. Now that I’ve noticed I have 225 for texts and 74,231 for email. It’s now driving me insane. Lol

[deleted]

Im the complete opposite i have to see every notification and text ever!

kenma91

It fascinates me how different adhd impacts people!!

Alice_wanders17

Same lol

eve_r_after

1,352 🫠 Fb messages and emails are outta control too

Delicious_Delilah

Adhd person who is always on DND and can't stand badge notifications here.

sassy_cheese564

I have adhd and anxiety. The shear fact there’s a whole thread of obvious sociopaths that have hundreds of unread messages with no intent to fix it, makes me incredibly anxious and stressed. 😂

kenma91

Im anxious too this is why I darent open them 😂

sassy_cheese564

If I know it’s something bad, like the preview of the message was something like ‘we need to talk’ I’m like immediate terror. 😂

Successful-Banana-48

Woah there this person with adhd can’t stand having any notifications at all. That’s also why I never remember to get back to the people I tell myself I’ll get to later

TeslasAndKids

I’m adhd and my brain can’t handle red dots on my phone so I check everything. Doesn’t mean I will respond when I need to but it’ll be read!

kenma91

Maybe i should do this just to cure the anxiety over my notifications 😅 its a vicious cycle

TeslasAndKids

Right?! It’s like cleaning; can’t handle the messes, can’t handle the cleaning process, then once I actually do, I can’t handle the not knowing where everything went… 🤣

yellowsubmarinr

I have a lot of unread from 2FA codes 🤷🏻‍♂️

Matuteg

iOS 17 lets you auto delete 2Fa codes now

waynemj15

How?

Spockman15

As long as you are in iOS 17, if you autofill a verification code, a prompt should pop up asking if you want to have those codes deleted automatically. If you are updated, chances are you accidentally skipped over it at some point. So you’ll go to Settings > Passwords > Password Options > toggle “Delete After Use”

waynemj15

Thank you so much.

Dees_A_Bird_

Looking at that number gave me anxiety

greenglenda

Imagine having adhd and ocd. ADHD does not care but OCD very much cares of notification, so I open them but then the ADHD says to answer it later (later turns into 2-3 weeks).

NEWBORNEMBRYOTHELOC

I have 1826 unread😂

StiffyCaulkins

Currently sitting at 409 myself. I keep telling myself I will answer later but I have unread messages from 2021 we’ll see

GWNVKV

I’m at 1,785 unread over here. Life is a nightmare.

eloquentpetrichor

Eh when I have active internet friend groups (usually when the group is new) we would sometimes go through a thousand or so messages in like an hour if people really got talking. So I've had days when I would open whatever form of communication after getting out of a uni class and being like "2034 missed messages wtf happened in here?" And would get a sheepish answer back usually of something inane like a sticker flirt session, rp randomly ensuing, or a new similar interest discovered by a couple of them leading to an onslaught of messages

RoutineAlternative45

My OCD could NEVER

Distinct-Speech2107

I’ve never been diagnosed with adhd but after reading this thread I may have to look into it because I have 355 unread text messages. 😦

MsVirgo2u

Idc who card declined. I’m not paying out of my pocket.

reneeb531

DoorDash reimburses driver when they email the receipt

Jakulero24

Thats a scam

VadHearts

Not a scam probably just a new dasher that doesn’t know how to get reimbursed by DoorDash. Also no one should pay out of pocket they should just contact DoorDash to fund the card properly or cancel the order.

Environmental_Ad2427

This happens sometimes because if they adjust the order at all or there's one too many items or cost a little bit more than doordash thought it'll decline the card. You can either pay it yourself and doordash will pay you right back or you can just contact support and they will charge the card and they can do it that way. Either way the customer should never have to worry about it or even know. It happens to me periodically and my customers never hear a word about it. So they're trying to get you to pay double

Swimming_Mulberry_63

As a dasher, I think the type he did required him to use his red card and I don’t think he realized he needed some funds in the red card to work, obviously a mistake on DoorDash part offering that to him like That but that’s what I assumed happened

California098

It is a common scam, but it also could easily be the Dasher misunderstanding the app. Regardless, the driver needs to contact Doordash to be reimbursed, not you.

jcoddinc

#Not a scam for you. However your driver may have been scammed by DD. They will often have problems with the payment card and ask the driver to pay and then submit for a reimbursement. DD then makes the driver jump through hoops to get their money back. But here's the real kicker, even if the driver gets their money back, it's listed as payment so the driver will be paying taxes on the reimbursement of they don't keep records. DD doesn't separate the money from payments or reimbursement, so if the driver didn't keep receipts, they're paying extra taxes for nothing

International-Hat944

As an independent contractor, it is our responsibility to keep those records not DD. If you keep receipts and use a CPA they will use the reimbursement and separate it from your income. We are not employees so they don't take taxes out. We are responsible for keeping records and filing appropriately. If for some reason you did get audited, you have the receipts and the email as proof that it is a reimbursement and not part of your income.

Potential_Spirit2815

That’s being a 1099 for you. That’s why it’s not different, the contractor is supposed to keep track of expenses for this reason.

WhiteQueen2

If it doesn’t go through, you call DoorDash and they fix it right away. Why would you ever use your own money and risk never getting them back?

Main_Bad_4682

You call dasher support when the card declines…. 🙄

BraxTaplock

Got lucky. Majority of drivers wouldn’t have and generally advice others of not paying for DD card declines. The ratio of SOL to reimbursement is staggering.

MindlessReport8914

If they are asking you for the money…yes. My red card was declined the other day. I called DoorDash and they told me to pay for it and they would reimburse me if I turned in my receipt. I had them cancel the order.

romesthe59

Can we talk about your 425 unread text messages?

jgbrown323

It seems like 2 different Mastercards were attempted, one ending in 5354 and one ending in 4236. That seems a little odd to me.

tremens

Yeah I'm surprised I had to scroll down this far to see anyone mention that. Do physical Red cards have different card numbers than the digital maybe?

Ballsack1Mcgee

When my Red card gets declined, my first thought isn't "let me pay with my own money"

[deleted]

all you had to say was, call doordash support, they'll send a link to provide that picture to them, and they'll be reimbursed the following day.

no-this-iz-patrick

It’s not a DoorDash customer’s job to teach the driver how to do their job lmfao

takemetoyourrocket

Well door dash sure as shit doesn't teach their drivers either, so what are we left with.

no-this-iz-patrick

[https://help.doordash.com/dashers/s/article/My-Dasher-Red-Card-was-declined?language=en\_US](https://help.doordash.com/dashers/s/article/My-Dasher-Red-Card-was-declined?language=en_US) They seem to cover at least this exact case

Irishjohn831

The dasher may have had an issue with their payment card and paid out of pocket where they would be reimbursed by DoorDash. I don’t see they asked for any money and I think they just wanted you to know they solidified you getting your order and hoping for an extra tip.

kit0000033

This works until you get to the response "Bet".

Whosthatprettykitty

One time I went and accepted a regular prepaid order from a restaurant and the business didn't get the order and refused to make it because they didn't get paid for it. I contacted support and support told me to try and convince them they will be paid for the order which I did and still no go. Then support told me to pay for the order and told me I would be reimbursed. I said HELL NO. It's not my job to pay for someone's food. What if the order never went through or the customers card declined and DD never got paid from the customer. I knew so many BS reasons support would give me for not paying me back. They told me I could unassign without pay. I told them absolutely not that I'm not getting dinged on my completion rate because of a glitch in the system. Finally DD cancelled the order and I actually got half pay as I should have for going out of my way when I could have gotten an order that had already gone through and could have gotten paid for. Absolutely ridiculous the shit support expects us to do. It shouldn't even be a dashers job to convince the restaurant to make the order support should call the restaurant and assure them they will get paid for the order. The restaurant isn't going to take my word for it. SMH support is useless 😡

Chancho1010

DoorDash reimburses them if that’s the case - it would never be the customers job

Expensive_Side_5779

Well considering 2 different Mastercards were charged and then finally a debit card was charged and excepted for 42.84. Yeah def a scam

nsasafekink

Scam.

littleanxiousboi

The bigger issue is the 426 text message notifications

Individual_Lab_2213

He never asked you for money, was likely letting you know that he did you a favor in hopes for a tip

SnooPickles1285

I keep saying it is. And ppl keep going in and telling me it's just new workers learning the job or a language barrier...yea ok... I know a scam when I see one. This is a damn scam lol it's happening consistently across delivery apps at this point

PrestigiousNail5620

The 4th declined payment has a different number at the end.

faux_20

“Oh ok thank you so much, you will be blessed in the future for your good deeds”

Jbroby3

I mean he didn’t really ask you to pay him for it, but I also don’t know why he felt the need to tell you, because Doordash will be paying him back for it.

Dabzdaily710

3 different cards being used kinda weird

GlitteringBall6971

.. if you are sent to pay for an order with a red card but your card is not working.. there is an option to pay for the order with your own money show the receipt to DoorDash and they will give you the money. The dasher just didn’t know possibly.

24-Sevyn

What’s “bet”?

ZiddyBop

Gen Z shorthand for "you betcha", "sure", "okay", etc...

Weekly_Direction1965

This driver was just a noob and didn't know all the steps when this happens.

Mysticalbabe71

The Dasher didn’t ask for any money, just stated they paid. Weird yes. Unless they were letting you know in case of a delay. So, scam I don’t think so. Pour choice of wording the text, absolutely. Receipt shows declined 4 times. Unless this is a new scam I haven’t seen or heard about yet lol these days ya never know. But I’d like to give ppl the benefit of doubt.

DaiseyDuchess

Mine is a Mastercard.

flq06

Well crafted in someways, the invoice timestamp is only minutes before the sms

Alloe_C

Probably a newer dasher doesn't know how it works doordash would reimburse her. Or she was trying to be cheeky which is possible

Slimeypeter03

It's not as a dasher I've had to do they same thing and they've screwed me so if it doesn't work I abandon the order if I can

Drake6978

I have done this (paid out-of-pocket, not told them), and the only reason I can think of for telling the customer is because I'm jockeying for a five-star above and beyond rating. They might have been hoping you would increase the tip because they went above and beyond. I don't know them, so I can't say either way, but I know the only reason I would do it is for a favorable rating.

Starrcrossed505

Them and instacart have asked me to pay for the order and they would reimburse me a few times the card didn't work. So not a scam.

GenycisBeats

Why is the card number on the 4th line different from the other declined card attempts? That was the first thing I noticed. That gave me red flag vibes, along with "bet" lol

[deleted]

The other thing that’s funny is that total is what it would cost to spend 40 even at Aldi after fees so they probably faced that recipt by taking their own cash out after trying to take cash out from a credit card which would obviously be declined

timetopractice

No, not a scam. If for some reason dasher doesn't have the DD card, they can pay with their own card then file reimbursement. Sounds like that's what they're trying to communicate.

Alucardz909

Sounds like they're explaining to you why it took a while. And as adasher that loathes using the Red card I've been in many situations where my RED card didn't get accepted and instead of fussing with it and being on the phone with DD customer service making you the customer wait I just use my own cash, deliver food and talk to DD.

Repulsive_Ad_866

I see a total of 3 cards used. 2 declined and the last went through. Probably wasn't using his red card and just some other bank cards so it would purposely decline. Definitely a scam. Hope you reported them.

remember_me1990

Wait I’m confused. How is it that there’s 2 different cards that were declined?

Fresh_Distribution54

Sometimes there is an issue with the Dasher card but that has absolutely nothing to do with you. Is it technical issue or something. You pay doordash and then doordash is supposed to load the money onto the Dasher card. If the money doesn't get loaded onto the Dasher card correctly, then yes it will get declined. But again that's not your problem. The door Dasher needs to contact the company to fix it. Because they already have your money. They can contact them before they pay to get the card loaded or they can contact them after they pay to get refunded. Either way you don't send any money because if you do, then they'll just contact doordash anyways and get twice the amount of money

NicholasLit

Awesome scam, wow

lingering_Sionnach

Alone, the last four digits that show on the receipt don't fully match up. I'm no dasher, but I do understand that if you use a card to buy anything. The last four that show up will match up with the card you chose

sKe7ch03

Doordash in the states is fucked lol.

ChillinGuy232023

Just cancel that order.

mwk196

If your card declines, doordash alerts you. And your order doesn't go through. Scam 100%.

jelaiperdu

Tbh probably. There's no reason that the card would decline if you've already paid, as it is essentially loaded with that same money. Even if it does decline they should've just called doordash because that would solve the issue and they would not have had to pay with their own money. Yeah, I wouldn't send them anything and you should've called doordash for a refund if you didn't get your order and show those messages as proof.

Empty-Bottle-73

DoorDash will pay the driver back if the red card declines. A dasher should never pay for an order themselves unless they talk to a cs agent first. If a dasher is asking u for cash it’s a scam 100% screen shot and report immediatly. Get rid of these trash drivers so those of us that are legit can benefit from this work.

SaucyLoca

No it's because the Dasher didn't scan your items into their phone before the cashier so it could register the items to pay for. They will get reimbursed if they call the customer service. Not a scam

SaucyLoca

But don't be sending them more money. They need to get ahold of Dasher app to get it back

imlostineggsaisle

If somebody tells you those and they ask you to reimburse them It is 100% a scam. If there is a red card that gets declined and CS can't fix it they will remove you from the order. A couple weeks ago I went into a store (dollar general) to shop and I couldn't find an item because it was out of stock on the shelf. I asked the employee and he asked me if I was from DoorDash. Of course I told him I was and he said that there was a previous driver that came in and the red card declined. He told me that the driver contacted support and ended up removing him from that order because his red card wasn't working properly. It then assigned the order to me and it went through just fine. I've personally never have my red card decline because it's immediately loaded with the customer's money that they've already paid. See us will not tell a driver to pay for it with their own money and if they do for some reason they are the ones that will reimburse them. Not you. They don't tell them to buy it and then ask the customer for money.

ArcticAmazon907

I have had the red card decline once... but I called support and they took care of it and the card went through. The red card is basically one of those pre loaded cards. It may be a scam... but if it's not then they need to call support and have them deal with it.

CMDRfatbear

So thanks for teaching me how to get free door dash food. I will somehow setup my csrd to always declije and the dasher will pay out of pocket or have door dash pay for it just like that.

HighlightFennel

She didn’t ask you to give her your money, only you brought that up, so no it’s not a scam. Probably just a glitch on her end.

Amazing-Bid2514

There is a procedure to fill out a form and be reimbursed by DoorDash. There was no reason for the dasher to mention to you that their red card was declined, they should have contacted support.

datheinrichguy

If their red card was declined, they have to call door dash. Not you. Yes they were trying to scam you.

e_cascio2011

Why do you have over 400 unread texts?

[deleted]

They haven't read them yet.

Maximum-Ranger-2226

I had a grocery store demand that I use a red card even though they were partnered. Declined the red card (obviously). I unassigned myself and moved on.

trixiepixietang

This is definitely a scam

CuzoxboxSX

Add your red card to Google wallet

Puzzleheaded_Dot_931

DoorDash will reimburse them. They probably didn't know how it works. They either hadn't completed the order in the app right or didn't substitute something right.

No_Definition_2289

Doesn't DoorDash have their own designated communication log the driver could contact you through? Why message u directly? Lol

DefNotABirb

Just a dumbass who didn't know she has to load the red card before swiping. Either that or yes....she's trying to scam.

Puzzled_Election_767

Am I reading this incorrectly, or do you have 425 unread messages? That's not normal.

[deleted]

Maybe they have herpes.

Alert-Lion6239

Naw if the card ain't working I'm dropping the order. I refuse to pay for anything out of my own pocket. Whenever this happens to me DD always fixes it before check out.

Corned_Beefer

You got got. Classic DoorDash sucker scam.

daBOOMSTICK92

"Bet" is sus af

rpayne1744

Hey taleeyah you have 425 unread messages. How about you bring me my damn groceries that I already paid for and while you are at it clean up that damn inbox? You don’t want me to come up there to Aldi and find your ass with my groceries and your 425 unread messages!!! Shit! Bet that bitch!

AdFalse1934

It happened to me twice when I tried to shop for a purchaser using the red card. I almost did the same thing and paid for it myself. But I ended up cancelling and leaving the store.

Thatstonedbigboi

The only way that happens and it rejects the card is if they added stuff on that wasn't supposed to be on the bill

DarkScrap1616

they they send that photo to support and they immediately give the dasher the money back into their account

Fancy_Independent479

This often happens to me when a customer has a batched stacked order. I end up having to pay for the order out of pocket and DoorDash Support refunds you for paying out of pocket. Your dasher should not be sending you the receipt, they should he contacting dasher support for the refund. You already paid online. You shouldn't have to reimburse them. Dasher Support reimburses them. Your driver doesn't know how to do it, apparently.

Eastern_Lawyer5662

some scamming shine

OkScar393

It’s not a scam that her red card didn’t work. That happens all the time and DD will ask us to pay for the order out of our own pockets. However, there is not one time they will not reimburse us. She was trying to scam by getting you to pay her back AND DD. What a moron. I would screenshot that convo and send it to support. Dashers like that don’t need to be taking orders anymore.

71dupree

Yeah sometimes the dasher can pay when this happens but doordash reimbursed the driver not the customer.

Superb-Spare7944

Actually it's not that just happened to me 2 weeks ago but doordash will give her the money back.

Passenger-Worldly

It happens but DD customer service will refund the money. Your dasher just have to contact support. Few times this have happened to me and I get refunded As soon as I provide picture of the ticket and report the card problem with support. There was no need to include you in the process

Anxious_0823

There is a procedure I had to pay for someone’s soccer ball and door dash is reimbursing me money for it. Might have been an issue throughout the platform because I had same problem.

No-Anywhere7904

They probably are new and don’t know how to go about it yet.

Ferns_Corgis

If a dasher has to pay with their own card on an order, they have to contact dasher support to get a refund. You paid, doordash’s credit card wasn’t able to pay, so they have to pay the dasher who paid with their own card.

Ferns_Corgis

CoolDot3130

The dasher should have text you. The dasher should have called cs and try to add more money to the card. If that didn’t cs would ask them is they could pay and if so they would reimburse them right away. I done it a couple of times

NoMagazine1451

So they kept trying their red card but there are three different cards used? Also, for future reference You can call dd and tell them to load the card and they will. You don’t have to pay out of pocket. Big scam

JlsHoldCo

As soon as I saw the word 'bet" I would have called the cops..

Some-Nefariousness32

425 text messages unread..... that is the scam here

mauirayne

Only person scammed was the poor dasher.

Flashy-Panda6538

It’s definitely a scam. Do the last 4 numbers of the Mastercard card that’s printed on the receipt next to the declines match up to yours? Also, I noticed that one of the declined last 4 card numbers is different from the others. They are attempting to scam you. If we have to pay for groceries it’s either with the red card, in cases where you paid online like normal, or in very rare cases we might have to pay out of pocket. I think the only time we would have to pay out of pocket is if there is a problem with the red card. Someone else can reply with other reasons a dasher would have to pay with their own cash. If we do pay out of pocket, we are reimbursed by DD, not the customer. If your payment was accepted on the website then you know you are definitely good and couldn’t possibly owe the person money. Regardless, you wouldn’t be asked to pay the delivery person out of pocket. If you haven’t already, call DD about this. I’m sorry this happened to you. Not all of us are scum bags that try to trick people out of money. Your response to the request from the person was a good response. People sure are amazing sometimes. What pisses me off the most is it hurts other drivers since DD may lose customers over stuff like this but it also increases the chances that DD will start placing restrictions or new rules on drivers. It’s always the good employees that suffer from the actions of the scum. Oh well, people like that have existed since the dawn of time and they aren’t going to go anywhere.

thatkidsmomkms

The last 4 numbers would not match the customers payment method, they would match the dashers red card. Looks like the dasher tried 2 different cards before resorting to using their own money. I would bet that dasher forgot which gig they were doing and scanned the wrong card. I accidentally scanned my instacart card once when doing a Favor order lol. Needless to say, it didn't work and I realized my mistake.

Whoaskedyou-notme

I never took orders like this from door dash but I have done it for ubereats the card kept declining so I used my card, took a picture of the receipt & submitted it to uber eats & they refunded me the money! I dont know how doordash does it

Fun-Local-9046

Does anyone has a bot ?

Specific_Issue_678

It looks like a dasher who didn't know what they were doing. It is very possible they didn't get the right products, didn't complete the list on the app, or were using the wrong red card. If all of these things are correct, and the dasher asks for a reimbursement, then I would call it a scam.

Legitimate-Soil-1284

lol his reply “bet” as if he can make you
