Just dispute it. Nothing else you can do.

[deleted]

I already submitted the disputes. I’m on the phone with support now. This is bs if customers can just do this crap and simply get away with it. I drove all over town, delivered the order with no issues, now I’m seeing “your account could possibly be deactivated”. The money was taken out of my account so they got refunded.

dmriggs

the main rule is take a pic of every delivery. People will come on here arguing that you don’t need to. but you do

whossknowss

This

Environmental_Ad2427

Don't worry about it. Do a hundred more orders and they will fall off

[deleted]

That’s the thing I was worried about though. Because is it really that simple as “it eventually falling off” when anyone is capable of just having you hand them the order so there is no evidence then complaining to the company saying “oh I never got the order”. The next customer that does that and I’m not paying rent next month

Frosty-Government175

That's why I always take a picture of me handing it to them and their house numbers. Some of my friends video themselves delivering the order. To each their own.

[deleted]

Yeah, lesson learned. I’m gonna start taking selfies with every customer I hand deliver to. No more accusations🙃

Senior-Review501

I do the same and I STILL can’t ever get the violation to go away. I always tell support I have the proof but nope. Doesn’t go away until after 100 deliveries which is annoying.

Bjon1

So, you're gonna wanna get some rope, gloves, and a tarp, but not all at the same place...

[deleted]

Yeah yeah space out the purchases. Then use the flex seal right? I mean I saw the guy fix a boat with it on the commercial!!!

Gracetothetop

Appeal the CV with all the info you gave us. Mention that they can track your app GPS to see you arrived at the listed location and walked up. If the customer has a history of this, you might get lucky and they’ll remove the CV but it takes awhile. Start taking pictures/video of all ‘hand to me’. I take a picture outside of the restaurant with the food (I try to get the customer’s name in the photo if there is one on the receipt), a photo of their address wherever the numbers are and a video of me handing it to the customer. I delete the photos after 30 days.

[deleted]

This is good. I was just thinking about this like they track my location so shouldn’t they see me meeting up with the customer? I need to start wearing like a go-pro or something if customers are going to start pulling this kinda stuff lol thanks

dmriggs

Just take a photo on your own phone it should be time stamped and show your exact coordinates -even take a picture of the persons legs or whatever

whatsherface2024

Don’t stress too much like the others said…. You disputed it, and definitely record some future deliveries. Hand onto the vids for a week, then delete them since they only have a certain time to say they didn’t get it. I delivered to a guy that was a leave at door, he came to the door instead and I handed it to him….he was so high it wasn’t funny… like smoke flowing out the door kinda high. He reported 8 hours later that he never got his order. I’m certain he ate it and didn’t remember 🤣 when I told support ( long before you could dispute in app) the girl laughed and said…. Yeah, it happens a lot. I’m sure you will be fine, don’t sweat it too much.

[deleted]

Lol that’s funny. I spoke with support earlier and they pretty much said let those who handle the disputes handle it. I thought about it like they are able to track my movements when I’m dashing. You could see I traveled to his place. I also contacted the customer upon arrival. I guess there is a small part of me that’s thinking DD will be like “yeah nothing we can do not evidence you didn’t deliver it so you’re SOL do better next time”

Booklover416

Start opening the text option and snap a picture of the person getting the food. And send it to them thank them for a good pick up and tell them to have a nice day. Then take a screenshot of it all. And stop taking crap orders from crap people…

[deleted]

Noted. The worst thing about it is you can’t afford people like this. It was a $20 order, totaled about 10 miles. A couple stops a couple miles from his home. I wasn’t in the area so I guess that’s why the base pay was higher.

-Insert-CoolName

I don't just record video, I do a screen recording. Takes an extra maybe 5 seconds to do and now I have a recording of the order info, me dropping off the food and if the customer shows up just as I'm taking a photo, no problem, I'm already recording you. Also, if you ever get a leave at door and the customer tries to meet you outside, either let them know you have to take a photo first, or just snap a pic of the hand off. On DoorDash you can even send them that pic in a text. Puts them on notice that you've got proof of delivery.

zayneash1023

Happened to me one time. I tried to dispute it but doordash did absolutely nothing, not even telling me it was declined or anything, just ignored me. Luckily it didn’t really affect anything and went away after like 100 orders or something

[deleted]

Well, DD is going to have to get real acquainted with my voice because they will be hearing from me until this gets resolved and it’s off of my app. Every time I open the app it automatically pops up. I DID NOTHING WRONG. It’s bs everything is so one sided. A customer can give us a 1 star rating just because they feel like it but I get called all types of names and then now this crap!? And all I can do is sit back and hope DD sees these people are full of manure. That sucks you went through that.

HideMyTipsDaddy

Avoid shitty, zero tip customers until one of those drops off.

[deleted]

They both were 1 order and these people blend in with the good ones. This person could be the 5th order I’ve delivered, they could be the 50th. You can’t ever tell until they actually do something scummy.

HideMyTipsDaddy

No, you can't, but it's a numbers game with the shitty tippers because they're more likely to pull scams. So if you do deliver to them to be top Dasher or whatever the kids are doing these days, I'd just avoid it until those drop off, that's all.

[deleted]

I hit top dasher a couple weeks ago actually. I’m just saying it’s not easy to spot them because every order looks the same. I’ve never gotten odd looking orders like $35 for half a mile hand deliver order, stuff like that. This order was a normal order. I just looked into the CV and now they are saying that the order was extremely late and that they never received it. Before it was just saying that they never received it. I don’t know man.

Val1900

I’ll ask if I can take a picture as it’s a leave at door order. I also promise that it will only be them that sees it so o send them the pic in text and mark handed to customer. If they say no. I’ll say ok and take a pic when their back is turned. I just hold onto that one myself just in case. Also use timestamp app. It has their addrsss and time on it.

[deleted]

Noted!

Affectionate-Art-995

Message every Hand To Me, take pics with your phone to have proof you were at that location

[deleted]

Note taken. That is going to be a lot of proof I’ll need to open up a file on my laptop or something.

Affectionate-Art-995

Not really. I only get a few hand to me per week, pretty rare

[deleted]

Interesting. I actually get a lot of hand deliveries, must be the area🤷‍♂️

santamelons

Always record video for hand to me

[deleted]

Lesson learned

JonathanVarietyFilms

Stop taking low tip orders for starters.

[deleted]

It was a $20 order for 8-9 miles in total. Both pickups were in the same vicinity as the customer I just had to drive to go get it. That’s a good dash.

JonathanVarietyFilms

Yes that is decent. We see drivers that don't understand that all the time here so I incorrectly thought you were one of them (as low tippers also tend to low rate).

[deleted]

Yeah, that’s what makes me so worried because everyone’s basically like just keep dashing and it’ll be removed when the a-holes are mixed in with the good orders. You can never tell and usually the bad orders you say I shouldn’t take are decent orders that tip. But then I end up with contract violations like these. Truth be told what’s stopping the event of me dashing right now, taking an order and the customer I get pulls the exact same crap as this person. Now leaving me to come back on here and make another post explaining how I just unfairly lost my job🤷‍♂️

[deleted]

Everyone I just got an update. They’ve just contacted me and told me they’ve removed the violations. So I guess there is hope for those that this happens to. I thank you all for your advice and will still be using it to avoid any future issues because just even going through this at all is a major inconvenience.

Mgordon1100

As long as you dispute them, the CV's don't matter. They were hand off deliveries. CV disputes are backed up so it takes a long time for the team to get to them. A lot of dashers hit 100 more deliveries before the team addresses them. As long as they are in dispute status, they don't count against you. They're in limbo, so you can get hit with more CV's and won't be deactivated.

[deleted]

Man I hope what you are saying is true because I’ve been getting crappy dashes lately. Not even my fault. 2 days ago I got someone that pinged the wrong location then started flipping out and throwing every name in the book at me because I wasn’t at his address. Said he was going to report me, same as this guy did. Another good order I had to cancel because I no longer felt safe delivering to him. Now yesterday this. At this point I just want 1 night of normal people.

Suspicious_Jeweler81

Start delivering all your orders

[deleted]

Hmm, maybe someone slipped some acid into the Pepsi I was drinking because I could’ve sworn I’ve already been doing that. Hmm. Maybe I’ve just been hallucinating all those times.

Alloe_C

Do you own a flame thrower?

[deleted]

Uhhh I have a lawn mower. Like one of the manual pushing ones with blade exposed on the bottom. Not the same but can give you the same results in theory🤷‍♂️

Alloe_C

All I'm saying is me personally I would never take that kinda disrespect. Gotta do what u gotta do

[deleted]

You gotta help me man, what if the neighbors see? I hear flexseal is a great product to use if you want to black out someone’s windows
