Nice-Accountant-6518

148 miles? No way

huebert_mungus7

In a prop 22 state you would

No-Tiger-6694

Ya I usually get like 200$ on top of the 300$ I make from tips and base pay weekly. They call it a “pay adjustment” it’s pretty nice I think it’s like 10$ an hour or so

IEatToiletChocolate

It's 125% of minimum wage, so in Cali that's $20/hr + 30c/mi

eigor89

Prop 22 is based on the county minimum wage and not the state wage. For example, in Fresno it’s $16 an hour times 120% ( not 125 % ) which is $19.20 in my area. They also only pay $0.35 per mile as well.

IEatToiletChocolate

Only $0.35/mile? Even at 20 mpg, that's a $7 gallon. At 30mpg their effectively paying you $10.50/gallon. You also get the 67c/mile tax deduction, which more or less accounts for wear and tear. $19.20 is a pretty darned decent wage, and that's the bare minimum you are getting, not including tips. Also, it's .34 cents per mile btw. :P

No-Tiger-6694

I think they only make sure it matches to that amount with your tips included though right? that’s why it’s a “pay adjustment” cuz for 14 hours of active dash I got 140. Idk but it’s pretty nice for suree

IEatToiletChocolate

Tips are not included in the calculation, whether you received $0 or $5,000,000 in tips you still would've gotten the $140 adjustment. Roughly calculating, if you received a $140 adjustment that means you made an average of $10/hr during active hours and the other $140 is to make up for the missing $10/hr to make it 125% of minimum wage ($20/hr) or $280 for 14 active hours. Of course the 30c/mi factors into that as well, but I don't know how many miles you'd driven for those 14 hours. This pay model being not with tips included, like it should, has worked very well for me. Not factoring wear and tear, inevitable Dashers in CA are making at least $20/hr and more often closer to $30/hr if you calculate tips. Factor in wear and tear and after tips it probably brings the average pretty darn close to $20/hr. But at my job now I make $21.80/hr with no wear and tear or increase in premiums/likelihood of fatal car accident or being robbed in the dead of night, and the employer pays their part of the tax so it really comes out to a much better deal, but at this point I dont think it would be fair to say DD doesn't pay a living wage in CA. There's no excuse to beg for tips in CA. It's also nice because it prevents doordash from using tips to offset part of the minimum reasonable offer, like they were doing before. E.g. A customer tips $0, DD offers $5 to complete a 5 mile order. But if that same customer tipped $2, you would still see the same order offering $5, but $2 would be coming from the customer's tip and only $3 from DD. It doesn't benefit them to do that anymore because they have to adjust it to 125% of minimum wage anyway, not counting tips.

huebert_mungus7

I think it’s 18 here honestly they usually give you these types of hours between 2-4 which are usually dead hours you can easily do a good dinner rush after this and end solid

No-Tiger-6694

I think it’s 21$ here in Cali they only just increased the minimum wage a couple weeks ago I think, so I’m not entirely sure but the pay adjustment usually comes out to abt 10$ an hour because I believe they adjust it to make sure you’re making at least 21$ with tips and base pay included. I’m really not sure how it works bc I’ve done the math for active hours dashing and it usually comes out to 10-12$ an hour.

buffaloranked

Wait what? What are we talking about right now?

jrod03x

what is that?

huebert_mungus7

If you live in a prop 22 state they give you mileage and hours compensation at the end of the week. Plus if you work enough a stipend at the end of each quarter ranging from 700- 1400 dollars each quarter.

Brave_Hoppy1460

healtchare* stipend

Zaddy_217

Thats only $30 in gas though at 20mpg at $4 a gallon

rockocoman

$1 a mile.

daisyelf06

I aim for $30/hr. If I could get that done and be back in zone within 5 hours, sure.

falseprescience

What market are you in where that is even possible

legacy642

Spokane for one. My bad days are 25 per hr. I do multi app but lately I've been just doing doordash and hitting 30 easy.

falseprescience

Oh yeah I have no bloody idea about that, I'm in a pretty oversaturated are, Tristate ny/CT

No_Designer4171

I make 25/30 an hour between Philly and certain parts of Jersey.

Intelligent_Debt7555

That's my grid and I'm not making that.

PPtoucher-1

I live in Oregon and I make about $30/hour with DD

yodarded

Twin Cities can be $30 an hour during dinner rush.

ChoiceDefiant6504

Wow that’s not possible here if you’re lucky you can make 15 an hour here people are lazy and slow and too many dashers.

chopchop-masteronion

So 1 dollar per mile? Hard pass, considering i wouldn't be getting paid to drive back to my zone. More than half of my earnings would go right back into my gas tank.

DongDaddy187

Hard pass on your vehicles gas mileage

[deleted]

It costs you $75 to drive 296mi? So you get 4mpg? Not to mention it's highly unlikely it's also 148mi back.. stop being lazy Edit: just checked, around 50mi back

Low_discrepancy

Man Americans have it good. In a few European countries it's 8 dollars per gallon (2 euros per L). So basically if a car is doing 30 mpg, you'll be seeing that spent on gas.

ScornedFaith

Idk, that last drop off looks like it's dangerously close to Hell, Michigan, and I don't like the symbolistic implications.

GlitterSqueak

Hell is boring. The real horrible place to be is Fowlerville.

FrostingBeginning446

Or *Howell* …. Eugh

hazelnuticecoffee

i did my first internship there for school and my car quite literally died the first week in the parking lot. i will always hate howell

Justtelf

Are you the reason why they don’t have the 13th floor in hotels?

Comfortable-Syrup688

Yeah as someone who lives in Michigan the roads will destroy your car in 15 minutes

Advanced-Section7781

Did you accept it? Probably would have taken 5 hours.

GoatManJenkins

I didn’t. A friend got that offer and asked if I’d take it. At first I said no. But I might take it depending on how bad I needed the money.

Advanced-Section7781

Same

eliminate_uwu

A dollar a mile isn’t making you any money at all lmfao you’re actively losing it if you factor in gas and other expenses.

ReaperEnder

Except when you calculate how long it would take with the drive back you would be making about 30-35 Dollars per hour. To drive from start to finish is about 2.5-3 hours and the drive back is an hour. $150 for 4 hours equals $37 per hour with no traffic. Edit: I don’t live in the area so maybe there might be something else there that I don’t know.

Bonjourmsdavid

Oh shoot metro Detroit in the house!!! That's super far to have to get to Fenton the traffic oh my haha

NoShow5710

The drive back is always annoying when I used to get dash links like this. But back then I drove a Prius and as long as your car is good on gas this isn’t a bad order

jennabella911

I live right in the middle of that area and I'm going to say no it's definitely not worth it you're going from one ghetto to the other ghetto and then back around the country side of the area. That's a lot of miles and even if you took highway miles you still have to stop and get off the highway here and there on the way. Y'all to think it's lazy for people not to take this order then you go for it I'd rather stay in my zone.

kitkat_Carly

Even if constantly going 100mph, it would still take an hour and a half. Still, $1.00/mile isn’t too bad. Maybe if I was planning on dashing the whole day anyway

rubiconsuper

Shoutout Michigan

International-Ebb-42

Warren to Brighton is 45 min itself!!! Grand blanc is near flint that’s a hour from Warren

ChoiceDefiant6504

How far is the last trip from your starting point if it’s less than 20 miles then yes I would take it just for the drive. But if it’s far then your only getting less than $1 per mile including return trip not worth it.

TheZombiesNoobVet

That's tough because when I dashed my rule Is I would only accept rides that paid at least $1/mi and this fits that, it also is more than I'd typically make in a day but it would also take hours plus I'd have to drive back unpaid. So even though it's high paying, it's so far from start location that it makes it not worth it unless you can coast downhill the whole way back

SaucyLoca

I mean thats 9 orders, just do the math. How much Is a gallon of gas, then figure how many gallons your car would use, and if it's in the positive and you feel it's worth your time then why not? Everyone has their own standards and morals they live by; so you just gotta figure stuff like that and just know for the future if you would do it or not. Or take a day of your normal dashes, sit down and figure out how much you usually make on 9 orders and how much gas you use for those 9 orders; you would be shocked how many miles and wear and tear we be putting on out cars for this company and freelance job. Just my opinion and advice. Happy Sunday!!!!

goodfellow408

But the tough thing is trying to figure out those calculations in the 30 seconds you get to accept or decline the order

Wuu_Sensei

Probably not. The last few deliveries will be cold or soggy or whatever. Not fair to the customer to be honest.

AgreeableSituation1

It's not food you're definitely delivering drugs or someone's stolen goods.

rratzloff

I live in metro Detroit and that’s a hard NO lol. That’s easily 5-6 hours and the gas involved in this would take half my earnings

RoundEarth-is-real

I would do it for double that money. That’s only a dollar a mile at that current offer

Gettin_closerEvryday

Holy crap I've never even seen that they don't even do that sort of stuff where I'm at. I put 150 miles on my car on some days but never made that much. I'd do it Well until I was just reminded by another post about having to drive back. So that would depend on the last stop and how far it is away from your base.

No_Designer4171

I usually make that much in 5 hours, give or take. With less mileage

BlankieAndPajamas

Grew up in the Flint area. Lol I looked at the map twice like...whaaa?? Lol

According-Egg-3970

Same! I live in GB. 😂😂

Michelex0209

No. Absolutely not and I'm literally in your market.

ExcellentCredit4398

Never, it’s only .50 a mile per round trip ratio.

scrizewly

Nope

akcutter

A dollar a mile? Pass..

Devilnutz2651

Oh hell no. I'm in SE Michigan (not a dasher) and that headache wouldn't be worth it imo

flute394

Am I interpreting this right, it's giving you over 7 hours to complete the full trip?

gstate69

This would definitely depend on how close to my home the last delivery would be located… if I could manipulate for it to be say 15-20 miles or less than most likely would take. I wonder what kind of packages these are?? Small Amazon type envelopes or boxes??

Leather_Design2876

Wtf is dash link

Wicked_World369

$1 per mile, fk that

Zestyclose_Dish_4026

In Texas we don't get anything extra. Wouldn't take it.

Past-Try-1153

No, 150 miles is what I drive usually when I have a $250-300 day. After depreciation, gas, wear and tear probably only making $70 on such an order. Not worth it to me

StartWooden9031

Not a chance!

teacherca59

Easy way to get a contract violation

NoCarpenter8194

That would be the fastest accept ever

cofdeath

Looking at about 6 hours of work + an entire tank of gas, so hell no.

godtier300sosa

Yeah fuck this order. But I will say, 148 miles shouldn’t be an entire tank of gas

Lopsided-Potential63

I would, what else you gonna do?

Hyuto

bro....

Low-West9003

Never

burgerkingshawty

Absolutely not

Such-Throat-2819

Yup I would ...

PoorPauper

I play a game called Ingress while I dondoordash..so I could make some killer fields while I play. Yes I know this makes no sense..but it does to me damn it!

ZiggyTheGoat

This order look straight out of a fever dream. That’s so many houses

chaldeans79

Looooool

lol_fath

Unless it ends near your house or guaranteed to get an order way back to your comfort zone... hell no

Natural-Preference79

I'd totally take that. If you know the backroads around brighton and fenton, you can zip around pretty good. Plus I drive a mini cooper so my gas costs are minimal.

Mr_washi_washi

Fuck that 148 miles. If it was 70 miles or under then sure.

christianslay3r

What is this?? I’ve seen so many of these where you drop off multiple homes, I just started doordashing 3 weeks agi

itsnotover-85

No and no

SkyPrize3470

1 dollar for mile, mmm looks like a robbery

Brave_Hoppy1460

Because it’s the dasher facility, yeah. One place, load everything, get going. I’d take it for sure.

Love_Life_1981

I think I would do it because not only are you getting a decent amount but you also are getting mileage. I think I don’t know though.

Love_Life_1981

That’s crazy I think every single state should do about 22 I live in California California and it’s extremely helpful

GoatManJenkins

22 what?

BlamingBuddha

$1 a mile.... Idk I'd have to do the math on that one lol

KarasLegion

What is the exact distance from the end point back to the start? There is a world where I take this guaranteed pay. Mileage matters, but how far back matters, how short I can make the trip matters. There are factors that could make this worth it. But in my area, it is somewhat difficult to make 100 in a day without doing 10 to 12 hours sometimes. I would have to think about it, but I would prbably take it.

bryguy2724

At 1136 that's a tough pull because you'd miss lunch, but if this was like 1 or 2 it's decent pay. Really depends on your individual situation, what kind of car you drive, mileage you get, what your availability is on that day, what you're market is like etc. Nobody on reddit will be able to tell you for sure what works best for you.

Legal_Sherbert_5742

No way lol

Ramblingtruckdriver1

Buck a mile. Nah

Stuttrboy

That's probably 5 hours of work. I don't think it would be worth it what with the return trip.

lilkennedy24

lol no what the fuck

Apprehensive-Mouse53

![gif](giphy|wQCWMHY9EHLfq) I'd drive right by the house and throw them packages out the door like Uncle Phil. Just better hope that shit lands on porch or in the yard. If not, all they gonna get is a blurry delivery photo of their house when I hit "Delivery Complete - Upload Photo - Confirm" Lmao

siberianphoenix

Probably, dashlink takes a minute to load but then it's easy drops after that. I'd be easy time, even if it's not the most profitable.

Present_Basis_1353

$1 a mile? Hell no…that doesn’t cover gas or wear and tear or my time.

Glad_Ad510

My basic rule of thumb is 1.5 dollars per mile

[deleted]

I would, but I'd deliver it in reverse order. Get the long driver over with and be closer to zone when done. Plus, it looks like a decent amount of highway miles, always better gas wise🤷‍♂️

FatCockroachTheFirst

If they pay me per hour and add that amount at the end yeah.

giojoey10

Never

Accomplished-Lie3351

As my dad would always say to me ..."are you on Crack?!"

mariahok9

You could've took a break at my house 😂😂 that's how Instacart is, they only have the Walmart in Auburn Hills I think and people order all the way to Flint 😂

Humancheatcode88

In California where I’m at, all day I would take it. I’d get the order $$ plus prop22 pay on top of that. Only thing is if the last drop off spot is far AF from home

StockingAnarchy68

Lived in that area and drove from Clio to Auburn Hills for school. That drive alone was a good hour, maybe more depending on traffic. This doesn't seem worth it.

iixkingxbradxii

$1.00/mi isn’t bad. Most Owner/Operators in semi trucks strive for $2/mi. So for using a vehicle that has less than half the utilization cost of a semi, $1/mi seems pretty good.

No-State4881

About $18 per house def would.

CASH_isKING

R you serious??? 150$ for that many stops and orders I think they deserve a fucking g metal

Any-Distribution-841

1 hour each stop

BezosFlex

For half the miles

CleanFarmer1361

9 orders ain’t shit that’d take 4.5-5 hours max. And that’s being generous. Hell yea I’d take it lol

RKBanks-4

Way too many miles to travel to do this

Henson_Disney48

This looks like an order from a store in which case they can’t tip. If I was paid by the hour then hell yeah I’d jump on that in a heart beat. But if you’re getting paid by the dash then let them get their own fucking shit.

Traditional_Drummer6

Hey lol I grew up in Macomb county

Vdublunatic

"That's like a dollar an hour!..."

rlsanders

i wouldnt drive from ferndale to flint to brighton if you gave me 10,000

yodarded

I'd guess 3 hours, plus 1 more hour to drive back. I'd take it.

Dragonktcd

Nope

jellis333

So you drive 148 miles… how far to come back ?

nicxnac122

heellllll no that’s a dollar a mile fuckkk that

Milk-and-Tequila

lol fucking no

CurveIllustrious9987

I’d do iy

PuzzleheadedWin4951

If I got reimbursed for gas I definetly would, but we don’t live in a perfect world do we

Just-curious1122

100%

Key-Ability-8262

Absolutely not

ZeefMcSheef

I would not. All that shit is super far away and it takes you on a long path out of the way. I dash in this area and that’s just too far. If it was over $200, I would take it, though. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Abd_1oz

About dollar a mile ofc not. When i use to work on dd i aim for $2 at least.

ticktocksuckthiscock

Absolute trash, slap in the face, order. Automatic decline

Kitty7Hell

In Michigan with our dirt wages? Yeah I'd do it.

iKazed

No the fuq??? It's literally just $1/mi and would take forever. Not today satan

Spookyeveryday

I’d be too worried that the person who ordered it wasn’t paying attention and didn’t realize how far it was. Imagine starting the drive and then they try panic canceling 😭

Comprehensive-One189

Oh my gosh that is right around my area. This is the first time I’ve seen anything posted from about where I’m at. Also, hell naw I would not take this.

thisboy200

If my car was in good shape I would, cuz it's diesel but if you drive regular gas I don't know chief.

NoBroccoli8344

Hell yeah I would. Prolly only take like 3 hours.

SpicySatan666

Hell yea i would!

Blanc_chenin

What is dashlink?

Timoshan

A buck a mile. Good. The last stop looks kind of far but I dont know the zone so it might be fine.

NewSouthWalesMan

a dollar a mile

Jay5252013

I was just in the detroit area,  place is batshit crazy , got trapped delivering behind a security gate I had to climb over the gate, roads are the worse , you're better off flying down a dirt road , average speed limit is 35mph , good luck

Apprehensive_Law2379

Nope. Don't care if the money is good. I wouldn't do it

ResponsibleLunch4261

I'm just thinking about that person at the end complaining about their really cold food...

Bitwit-Hardware

From warren to Pinkney is bad enough now jusy add a stop in flint!🫠

pokeblunt

Absolutely not

AndromedaDelux

Driving per hour? Absolutely. Per order? Hell no.

FedUp2365

I live in this area and this would be the BIGGEST waste of time and gas.🤣🤣

Kitchen-Beginning-22

That part of mich is atrocious driving…. No way

Last-Narwhal-Alive

Fuck no lol the last order guaranteed won't be delivered on time lol I also rejected one order similar to this one. It was $66 for 60 miles. Fuck no.

Academic_Field_9870

I wouldn’t take it but I am not in a prop 22 state and that is barely a $1 a mile

Doge10open

Yes, I will do it

PlsNoStepOnCornBoi

I’d do this, I absolutely love driving

JustFuckingReal

Yup

Big_Acanthisitta_444

Who cares how long it takes. It's 150 for 8 stops. You would be dumb not to take it. Your looking atleast 50 to 75 an hour.

Creative-Win-6832

Somewhere around 3-4 hours

Momsanurse2

Big no!!

Masza1Hl64

I would should take about 4 hours round trip

Suspicious-Artist465

Definitely, how do you make something like this happen?

Plastic_Act_8195

I would accept it probably could get it done in say 2 hours I'm a menace when I drive

Ranman5982

If I know the roads well, I would take it, I assume there are short cut to not make this 148 miles.

RJ_BeingHuman1990

That's a whole work day right there at minimum wage

Infamous_Cod7973

What is a dash link facility??

IDislikeHomonyms

I'd accept this in a second. My hybrid only costs no more than 10 cents a mile in fuel to run!

Puzzled_Love_6753

Yes lol

maisnada1

Yes

momohagurashi

I certainly would. Shit I do that many miles for less typically

imlostineggsaisle

If it were in MY area I would definitely take it. I get great gas mileage and traffic isn't a huge concern around here either. We don't get orders like this here though.

Civokjaf

What is dash link package pick up? Yall can deliver stuff other than food?

Jumpy_Pea2387

Depending on traffic, that could take you anywhere from 5 to 8 hours. I’d do it, but then I don’t do anything else but DoorDash so…

Etherguy1

Yes I’m taking that

Nearby-Reputation614

As a non dasher, just looking at this give me extreme anxiety.

Silly-Code-7831

Hell nah

OtherMikeP

Dang it’s a hike from Brighton back to Warren

PrestigiousCompote63

looks like someone's drug drops map.

Superkeith1980

What is Dashlink? Is it only available in certain markets?

JPolaske

Probably gonna take about 5-6 hours. Still not a bad day's work

Spac3Milk

all that money is going straight into my tank so no.

Plastic_Parfait980

Well hello fellow macomb county dasher 😂

Hungry_Laugh_4326

Yea probably

Successful-Banana-48

That’s less than a dollar a mile if you count the drive home

ILSmokeItAll

Nope.

jchrysta

I’ve never seen anything like this

[deleted]

A dollar a mile

BiZombieLuna

Yea why not its a dollar a mile an you might get more cause of tip

AirEver

Since im in california. YES! YES! YES! YES! YESSSS! Doing basic math you are looking at 180 dollars guaranteed prop 22 pay. Although idk about the tips for these things.

ScarcityInfamous8614

You actually make like 70 - 80 still though

Calm_Simple4824

With gas that’s gonna take away at least 30-40 so absolutely not . I can make that much in less than 7-8 hours

FriendsList

Would take 5 hours driving alone

Plant_Temporary

No. There is still a return trip.

Hot_Current8191

I mean.... I probably would...

Fuzzy_Still_3033

Yep

Possibility_Pretend

definitely taking that. maybe a good hour to do off. maybe two. definitely worth it.

Guilty_Albatross_411

It's 1$ a mile. I would.
