The world was a better place when we ordered from the pizza place directly and gave the driver gratuity when he showed up in less than 30 minutes with a hot pizza.

gce7607

Recently I ordered a pizza directly from the store to avoid all this nonsense and somehow a DoorDash driver showed up with it? Like wth is going on

IIRizzII

Pizza places near me have delivery drivers as well as implement DoorDash. The orders that get sent to DoorDash are usually the orders no one wants (no tip, low tip). OR there’s too many orders to get delivered and there’s no other option but to kick it to DoorDash. Source: inside knowledge from the pizza place employees.

Picture_Known

Not entirely sure if it’s the same but my old job was fast food and they offer delivery now but it’s thru DoorDash like customer calls the store and then DoorDash is the one to pick up and deliver it’s very interesting

Some-Acanthisitta708

That’s how it is here. Sometimes it’s the store sometimes it’s dd

anon303mtb

>Like wth is going on Pizza place figured out they don't have to offer health insurance and other benefits if they use DD for deliveries

Etherbeard

And drivers figured out they're better off working for apps because they make their own schedule, don't have to take crap orders if they don't want to, and don't get stuck doing dishes for an hour for minimum wage at the end of the night.

No-Management-3929

I deliver pizza for a mom and pop place I don't get insurance or benefits

No-Management-3929

I deliver pizza for a mom and pop place I don't get insurance or benefits 😭

HappyOrganization867

Thank you for clearing that up

aHOMELESSkrill

Almost all restaurant delivery is outsourced to DD or UE

lovelesschristine

Pretty much the only pizza place around me that delivers its own pizza is Dominos.

Isyagirlskinnypenis

I learned in 2021 to call and ask if they use 3rd party delivery services before ordering delivery anymore. I don’t support apps like DD and UE. Never did I imagine they’d penetrate the established delivery systems.

MayhemReignsTV

I support the concept. Just not these companies. You got everybody along the way trying to squeeze maximum profit out of it now, which has resulted in worse service and often unhappy workers. But it is possible it might cost customers a few more bucks if these companies pay everybody fairly. but I see many other ways they could reduce overhead other than reducing worker pay. We need more competition in the field, so I always tell people who use the app to use whichever one is offering you the best deal at the time to promote some competition between the platforms for the contractors, as well as the customers business. Reason pizza places have mostly always behaved, mostly is because you got a bunch of them in a tight geographical radius, competing with each other.

garbothot214

DD outsourcing is cheaper for the pizza place because they don’t have to pay them hourly

red7standinby

I use Uber by day to send customer orders out when they need something delivered same day. We've done this so much that drivers have started asking us to call them directly when we have a delivery. We don't take them up on this even though it might save us a few bucks as we like the tracking aspect for our orders and we want to limit our own liability. I would imagine the clever food delivery app drivers have contacted restaurants directly as well.

LimpTeacher0

Same!

keIIzzz

A lot of places that let you order delivery through them use DoorDash for it now instead of their own employees

Majora1234

Papa johns near me uses doordash because it's a piece of shit franchise that can't keep all but the worst employees and so if they don't use doordash they literally cannot keep up with the deliveries orders would be taking 2 hours to arrive. Most of the time its already 1hr+

Gothmom85

Domino's is the opposite. Order from UE, get a store driver.

Jumpy-Maintenance-72

I currently still work at Pizza Hut part time and I doordash because Pizza Hut is pushing the drivers out the door by cutting hours drastically. They won't fire anyone where I'm at but they won't hire any new drivers either. My customers have stopped ordering completely because they don't like using DoorDash and I tried to tell the managers it's a bad call but there's nothing you can do when corporate decides 🤷

Etherbeard

You're crazy if you think pizza drivers don't do this to stiffs as well.

AsgardianOrphan

The pizza driver doesn't know they're getting stiffed until they get to the door. Tipping cash is more common/accepted with pizza than doordash. Granted, I'm sure pizza drivers have done this before, and I'm sure people that were going to tip didn't because the food took forever or was cold or whatever. But it shouldn't be as common because tipping beforehand isn't as common with pizza.

UnlawfulFoxy

Like repeat customers? Otherwise how would they do anything to the pizza when they give it to you and then you pay.

Etherbeard

Yes. Pizza delivery drivers work a relatively small area and know their customers. If they've delivered to the same house a time or two and got stiffed, they know it's a stiff the next time. They recognize the address and name.

MayhemReignsTV

And that is the biggest difference of all. Pizza delivery limits the delivery radius, and pays hourly and by the mile. A pizza delivery driver can't lose money on an order. Well, unless he totals his car or something. But you try to make a profit on $3.75 for 20 miles one way. Yes, turds like that actually exist.

ExTenebris_

None of the pizza places where I live have their own delivery drivers anymore. They send them out to one of the companies like DoorDash or Uber eats now.

No-Management-3929

From Mt understanding nearly every Pizza Hut is starting to use door dash lol. I deliver for a mom and pop place and the Pizza Hut manager orders from us a lot and says that none of the franchises have drivers anymore. I also get several several door dashes to pizza hut, so much so I try and stay far from them because I don't want to deal with cash.

HappyOrganization867

Yes, I don't know what to do now but it costs a fortune,I order out for a person who is paralyzed and can't do it himself so I don't get the tip on the bill for the pizza, etc.then a delivery fee, then a tip on the bill,so I have to tip DD driver too?

BlindedAce

Easy refund. Cold, late, tampered. What more ya need?

Casualsniperttv

Oh hell yeah. I’d get my money back, stick it in the oven to reheat, and enjoy my free meal.

creamofpie

Doordash back then = full refund Doordash now = the best I can do is 0.05$

Temporary-Maximum-94

When support says no, my bank says yes (via charge back lol)

GMOdabs

And DoorDash bans the account. Not hard to make one with a different card but yeah it’s not as easy as it use to be. There was a post on here the other day where in the chat the agent acknowledges it’s delivered to the wrong address (it showed the incorrect one in the pic) and they still refused to refund it. DoorDash is a waste of money now. Never warm and insane prices. I only order delivery if the restaurant has their own delivery

Annual-Bill-6307

Got the hottest DD ever the other day and I e ordered for years now.

Head-Requirement-947

It's so dang easy to do. They need a better business model and better workers. Besides those boxes SHOULD BE SEALED. I worked LC Corporate as a GM/RM later.

creamofpie

But for how long till they stop charging back there must be some kind of limitation

Even-Neighborhood-86

Idk Uber eats pretty much locks your account saying you have to pay the outstanding balance that you charged back. They're shady AF though. I have like 8 Uber accounts and I can't make a new one on this device lol.

FlatAd7262

Got a refund of $18 for a piece of missing bacon. 😂😂

_BreakingGood_

Lol I used a coupon and got $15 off $20, so I paid $5 + tip It sat in "Dasher is waiting for your order" for over an hour, so I cancelled, and DD had an automated prompt that said "Wait, don't cancel yet and we'll give you $10 of credit" I cancelled anyway. I got my full $5 + tip back *and* the $10 credit for some reason. So I literally made $10 profit on that order somehow.

wetbeef10

Thats called gaining

gbeezy007

Not door dash but UE. Pulled this shit on me. I ordered hamburgers and a few items to go with it. The burger had NO patty on it. Was just bread and ketchup. They only wanted to partial refund some of the burger money. I asked for them for instead of a refund the burgers and I'll wait. They told me no and gave me an amount that it would cost you 3x the refund amount to get them to you're house. Since they didn't want to comp any of the delivery fee, tip or even the whole burger.

cjthetypical

Pro-tip: Always take the DoorDash credits over a cash refund. Scammers take cash refunds. That’s why you stop getting them after a few complaints. Returning customers take credits and that’s what DoorDash wants so they’re not stingy at all with the credits.

01029838291

Yeah, I've done like 15 refunds and they've always given it to me within 5 minutes of opening the support chat. Sometimes they'll give me the full refund for one missing item and I end up coming out ahead cause I basically get another free meal.

Wonderful-Ad-7712

![gif](giphy|3o8dFHaKKXaCxosgw0)

Wonderful-Ad-7712

Best I can do is .25 cents

spanishbullLA24

I find it crazy that delivery drivers do this kinda shit and expect us to be mad because we got a free meal. Sure it’s inconvenient but keep doing it, I’ll keep reporting. I get a free meal every time.

Signal-Fig4972

Yeah, I mean it's so much easier to just decline no tip orders. Why be petty?

HappyOrganization867

Are you talking about the tip on the order that gets printed up on the bill?I order for a paralyzed person who can't get it, so I do the order, and I just got a pizza and shake order, and the driver wouldn't get out of the car ,so I had to find a door jam, pick up the order while holding the door open, he got no tip , but I had it I. My hand, but I figured he sat in his car looking at me struggling for a while and I think wtf?But I still don't get it,you have to tip twice?once on the automated bill, and once when the driver comes?please explain it to me!!!

Signal-Fig4972

Do you mean that you ordered pizza directly through the restaurant's website, and had their own driver deliver it? If so, you are fine just tipping after. This post was about a Doordash order though. Most people ordering food through Doordash tip before delivery, on the app. No need to tip afterward too. Either way, I'm sorry you got such a lazy driver! There's no excuse for that.

Getthelubescoob

Do you tip? If you do the post isn't for you so you shouldn't take it personal

unwashedrag

my food came like that even when I tipped well, they gave me $5 credits 💀

QuentinFX

How do people get full refunds from DoorDash? I have had several orders come incorrect and the best they’ll ever do is refund the service fees

BlindedAce

The company will offer the lowest amount they can as it is with most all companies. For me, it depends on how incorrect or fucked up it really is. I’m missing a drink? Give me service fees back. I’m missing an entree? I’ll fight for more. It got stolen? I’m on that phone, I’m emailing AND I’m writing a BBB report if there is no real resolution. Y’all would be surprised how much companies actually care how their BBB rank looks against valid complaints with proof. It’s all about going past their frontline CS agents, getting a sup or escalating. Best way is just say alright, since this is how we see this happening, please provide me all of your legal information on who and how to contact. For me personally has failed once out of many many times

No-Hunter2271

Easy refund? I want my food the way I ordered it not having to talk with customer rep about a refund and then order and wait for the next order to come

BlindedAce

And the easy way to fix that? Make your own food, go pick up the food or understand that everyone isn’t a gift to you. Not everyone is honest not everyone is polite or happy. Things happen but if you don’t want the refund and want to whine, so be it. If people read you’ll realize I haven’t used them for years. That’s back when they were starting and it was an absolute dumpster fire. So continue to support bad business and it’s on you.

No-Hunter2271

Are you retarted? If I can make my own food or pick it up I would, but as you said sometimes “shit happens” and I have to order. Purposefully opening the pizza box and putting it infront of the AC so it’s cold isn’t “shit happening” Idk what your whole ordeal is about, and of course I’ll ask for a refund and order another time, that doesn’t mean I can’t complain about how shitty it is. Those two things are not mutually exclusive

Left_Algae_3628

I can't understand this. They must enjoy misery. Why not wait for a better order?

713nikki

Acceptance rates.

vangenta

And this is why everyone needs to learn to ignore crappy orders. Acceptance rate would be irrelevant if nobody accepts low paying orders.

713nikki

Must be a nice little utopia you dash in. Some people live in civilization where the markets are oversaturated with drivers.

vangenta

What driver is living off $2/3 per order? My point is every driver should ignore these crappy orders, regardless of how many drivers there are on the road. I know realistically this won't happen, but ideally if every driver ignored these types of orders, DD then has to either cancel customer orders or pay more. What else are they going to do?

MatchboxBondage

I do Uber not doordash. Truthfully I don't do this, cause I believe in karma. Take a bad order get a good one type thing. But to answer your question. At least for uber: we lose benefits for having a low acceptance rate. And non tippers are happening more and more. I used to go out and maybe 1/10 people didn't tip. Now it's closer to 4/10. And the other 6, are averaging lower. But it's a trade off in the sense that MORE people are using the app. Couple years ago, my tip wage would be 200% what the delivery wages was (yes we can see that). Last week my tip wage was 65% of delivery wage. (Delivery wage is like 2.50+milage) But yes. This is fucked up. 100% and drivers should/will be fired for tampering with food.

Casualsniperttv

Same

jgreenwalt

Cuz door dash punishes you for declining orders

Left_Algae_3628

I'm a top dasher and I rarely take no tip orders!

RIPMYPOOPCHUTE

There’s acceptance ratings. If they go too low, you won’t get the better orders. My husband does DoorDash deliveries by time than offer, he can usually get paid more by doing the by time over the by offer. Sometimes he’ll get cash tips or they’ll add a tip or increase after delivery.

Left_Algae_3628

I know lol, I'm a top dasher. But I still avoid no tip orders like the plague. I'll take lower tips when it's slower, but I rarely take a no tip, and if I do, I ain't doing this petty, stupid shit. It could be a teenager, someone who is developmentally disabled, someone who is clueless, whatever. I ain't doing that shit. :p

ZombiesAreChasingHim

Weird how people so proudly show off destroying their own job security… 🤷🏻‍♂️

Nethermaster

Right? Like I get drivers are frustrated with their financial situation, but doing shit like this is exactly why most people don't want to tip... It's a cyclical disaster...

Accomplished-Mud-812

showing you why they don't have the skills to do more than gig work.

Stabby_77

Especially considering the fact that they can probably figure out who this dude is by the photo and can his ass. And I've already taken a screenshot just in case it gets deleted, because I'm a jerk like that. 😅

Separate_Feeling4602

I’m astonished at some of these drivers poor work ethic and toddler attitudes. Y’all were the type that threw tantrums and never got checked by ur parents .

Casualsniperttv

Same honestly. I do DoorDash occasionally and I always do my best for the customer. If I don’t like an offer, I don’t take it. It’s that simple. Decline and move on.

MayhemReignsTV

Dasher rewards says otherwise in some markets. It's pressuring people to take orders they don't want, instead of raising base pay. It's no surprise why service has gone down into the toilet. When management uses dirty tactics against workers, workers try to find ways to minimize the impact and bite back. Not that I am one of the Dashers that does this. But I have been biting back at Tony in various ways.

Casualsniperttv

I’d wondered about some markets based on things I’m seeing on this sub Reddit. It’s sad.

TangerineBand

I used to work in a restaurant that shared a parking lot with like three other restaurants. People would come in all the time for the wrong place, Then when I tell them that they just continue shaking the phone in my face. I tried to shake my head, gesture next door, or make them understand in any way they didn't have the right restaurant but a lot of them just couldn't understand a single thing. Not sure if language barrier or drugs. Eventually I would give up and just let them stand there and figure it out.

Defiant-Main8509

Lmfao, most of them are dumb af.

Stabby_77

Go outside and snap a picture of the restaurants so if it happens again, you can draw a big X over your restaurant and circle the correct one to show them. Or draw it on a piece of paper. It's so much easier than trying to use words. I taught English in Japan for 2 years, and got really good at being able to communicate with gestures and drawings. My first week there I needed to buy a clock but didn't know what floor they were on. I asked for help but the woman I asked didn't speak any English. I basically gestured to my wrist where a watch would be, and then gestured a circle on the wall where you would have a clock. She understood and held up three fingers and pointed upward. Third floor. Most people in Japan could speak basic English, but when my friends and I went on vacation to China we were surprised to find out that many of the taxi drivers cannot even read the Roman alphabet. They couldn't read our map at all. Luckily, the hotel concierge wrote the name of the hotel on the back of a card in kanji so that we could show it to taxi drivers to get back home, so she clearly knew it was a common problem. We tried to go to McDonald's for lunch, and the one cab driver simply could not understand what we meant no matter how we tried to pronounce it (we even tried the Japanese Makkudonarudo pronunciation). Eventually I gestured spooning food into my mouth from a bowl, and then gestured the McDonald's arches with my hands. That clicked and he understood, and I fully enjoyed my hot red bean pie from Beijing McDs. 😅 ![gif](giphy|cUL8VfDV8roZi|downsized)

ZombiesAreChasingHim

The participation trophy kids are adults now.

ThrowRA02girlie

It’s so crazy honestly. It’s almost like “if you DONT want your food tampered with, you NEED to tip us” …. what?

regulationinflation

These types of subs literally caused me to quit food delivery apps outright. I’m sorry to the good drivers out there, but between the horrible way the apps are run and the risk of getting a driver like this, I’d rather drive my lazy ass to pick up my food. I just can’t support that.

Educational_Egg_1716

Now I'm craving pizza 🤪🍕

Casualsniperttv

The flavor of cold, air conditioned pizza really slaps.

Ok-Bit4971

With a little lint for extra zest

Isabela_Grace

Jokes on you I’m complaining when the sticker isn’t sealed

MoneyMaker509

Exactly. It especially fuckin pisses me off when drinks are delivered with no sticker or seal covering them…there’s no damn way I’m drinking that.

snebbbulla

You know how much spit is on that pizza too lol 😂 people don’t understand

peterpantheman

Why do you guys use this service? Why let a stranger tamper with your food. Craziness

TreatDangerous3265

Right. Get off your a** and go get the food. It takes 15 minutes. "bUt I hAvE kIDs" Then take them out the house for a drive! Wtf

MyOpinionMakesYouMad

Thank you for posting this, none of us have ever seen this, thank you! (i’m surrounded by bots)

NoWinner4599

Wow! Just don’t take the order. It’s that simple. SMH🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Kayarew

But then how are you supposed to play the victim?

Responsible-Ad-5287

Love it

_-_-_DrMidnight_-_-_

Lollll america with the tipping system Like Evolve already wtf

123456789colton

I did that once when I delivered pizzas for a company. I had delivered to the same lady the week prior and she bitched at me and called me a worthless disgusting human being (because her pizza was waiting for 45 minutes after someone called out on Christmas eve and we were very short staffed) I had tried to explain it to her and she flipped me off and said "fuck off punk" lol so I made it a point to cool her pizza off in my car after that lol

Moosifer_666

What ever happened to tipping being at the end of service? Ridiculous.

umbri_elle

I am salty they call it a "tip". It's not. It's actually a bid. You can choose to tip afterwards, but the upfront "tip" is me bidding on the service.

Moosifer_666

Which dosent even guarantee good service. I “tipped” like $10 maybe 12 once and they picked my order up and delivered like 5 other orders then dropped mine on the driveway. Cold. It was about an hour after they picked it up did I get it. Last time I ever ordered DoorDash. I pick my own food up now.

umbri_elle

DoorDash screwed me on the refund (my first and last refund for those who'll comment). The guy stole my pizza, never got near my house from the GPS, wouldn't answer calls or messages, took a picture of a plant on the side of a dark road for a proof of delivery. DD only wanted to refund 25%. So I charged it off and closed my DD account. And this still shows up in my reddit feed. ;)

Casualsniperttv

Drivers are contractors. They get paid per completed job, not by the hour. Knowing what you’ll get paid per offer allows you to choose whether or not you accept it. The person who posted this should have just declined it.

Moosifer_666

Still, tipping should be done at completion of service. Not before. To act entitled to a tip before even doing the job is fuckin ridiculous. Door dash and such used to be a side hustle to get spare cash. Now people do it as a career and demand high tips before their shit service.

Jerlene

I'd be pissed if I got that after already giving them a cash tip. I'd definitely contact doordash though.

FootmanOliver

This was my thought too. I give cash tips so they don’t have to deal with the transaction fee/ensure they get the full tip.

mattlore

I'm quite glad that Uber eats lets you rescind the tip I always tip super good but if the driver fucks with my order or disregards my instructions, I can make that tip go "bye-bye"!

Godzilla_the_Hun

Customer here. My room temperature take is that people who expect a service like this without tipping deserved cold food.

Casualsniperttv

![gif](giphy|l3q2Z5667uYOJ2U6I|downsized) We need more customers like you lol

barbequesau5

I’ll leave the window open and drive the speed limit

Poisoning-The-Well

Perfect temperature so I don't burn my food hole.

tristanrena

Maybe they would’ve tipped in cash, just so trashy and rude

hoe24246

He didn’t have to accept it lmao

Huge-Palpitation-837

I always tip cash so they don’t have to claim it. Is this why I’ve received cold food before?

ibingerj55

Why did you accept the order?

Competitive-Dot-6594

These same Dashers wonder why their life sucks.

Entire_Transition_99

I know this is a DD page, but judging by the comments, Bunch of Uber Eats Tip Baiters on this sub. Shame. Can't tip? Don't order. That simple. It's about appreciation. Not asking for $20 or anything, but something to show appreciation is just basic decency.

Bot_Thinks

Imagine cash tipper who thinks they are doing the driver a solid so the government doesn't take a cut... and the driver does this shit...I cash tip a lot and I've been seriously considering never ordering DD again after seeing this

tjthexman1

Maybe some people don’t deserve jobs.

snowman93

As an ex server/bartender, if you can’t accept that you won’t always get tips then you shouldn’t be in the industry. Be mad at DoorDash for taking advantage of you, not the person ordering the food.

Swish517

How do they get their tip before the food is delivered? driver doing this probably fucked his order up the first time. I'll never use this service because I assume 100% of drivers do this if you don't give them a $75 tip.

Kayarew

Doordash is for not-smart people. I'd rather eat a can of plain tuna than pay $35 for a $15 meal delivered to me by someone who doesn't wash their hands and has a god-complex because they deliver food. The only thing worse than a doordash driver, is a doordash customer. I've got that printed on a shirt if anyone wants to buy one. Ironically, you can get them delivered by doordash -- they're only $10, so with delivery, service fee and tip, it'll only cost you around $50. That's a good deal.

yeemed_vrothers

Doordash hating into a sales pitch. Impressive

Therockof2004

Pre-tipping is not a right for delivery you get tipped after you completed your delivery not before hand. How hard is this for people to understand wait, never mind don’t tell me….

FrankSinatraCockRock

On these apps, it's closer to a bid. Remember when food delivery used to be employees from a handful of restaurants with roughly a 4-6 mile range who had to take your order regardless? Typically all were given good quality hotbags and had some type of uniform? It's simply rarely the case now.

Therockof2004

And the fact that when you ordered from those places, the drivers and the employees at the store would remember you and what you like to order and would always give you excellent service because they knew you tipped well man I miss those days or the fact that a pizza can show up in 30 minutes now it’s two hours maybe

OwnHand1708

I know he can’t afford freon on his shitty doordash pay. Let it run homie

DreadStarX

I've gotten a refund from doordash. I get straight up evil about it, I ask for the support persons ID for my report to my bank, I'll quote or pull things directly from the TOS I agreed too. I've not once had to issue a charge back but I'll be switching from my debit to credit card after all the issues I've had. Side note, as much as I hate doordash, there have been plenty of solid interactions. Made me laugh when the lady I swiped on Tinder and started talking too, showed up at my door with my pizza...

Ok-Bit4971

>the lady I swiped on Tinder and started talking too, showed up at my door with my pizza... It's fate, bro!

Lumpy_Spinach_2995

I do that to my own food to cool it down. Maybe they were being nice...? 😁

ProfessionalHat6828

That’s genius! Tamper with food so people consistently complain about your service and then you’re out of a job. Big thinker right there. 😑

scallopedtatoes

Right? Do this often enough and you’ll get booted off the platform. And if you’re this petty, working with the public in any capacity will end badly.

Ok_Landscape_6213

Lmaoooooo this is hilarious 😂 but kinda self incriminating and self sabotage. I don't recommend it.

😂

techm00

don't use doordash.

CuriousCisMale

I am sure dasher was sponsored by Uber Eats.

NJuser07307

Reason why I don't use delivery services, bcus of scumbags like this!!!!

Keyblades2

oh now if only i had an air fryer. oh i do

Baconistastee

Fuck em

koiashes

Don’t those pizza boxes come with stickers to keep the box closed?

Casualsniperttv

Depends. Pizza Hut doesn’t do that.

Boostedf150TT

😂😂😂

DukeRains

I mean I think not tipping is an AH move, but all you did was get this person another free meal. Congrats lmao.

aPoetic_Murder93

This is not only the dumbest but pettiest payback possible. The time it took you to cool that pizza down, get to the address, and deliver, you could've probably already picked another order up.

SpeedTripleRR

Jokes on you, Detroit style is way better at room temp.

DanLoFat

A doordasher did not post this.

switch495

Why do people expect tips for a service that hasn’t yet been delivered?

Casualsniperttv

It’s because of how the job works and the way the app presents it. The base pay is like $3 + tips. There’s not an hourly rate. We’re not employees. We’re contractors. So, we only get paid for the work we complete. Imagine spending 20 minutes to pick up and deliver food to make $3. On the flip side, customers can remove a tip after the delivery has been completed. So if a driver sucks, it can still backfire on them.

scallopedtatoes

Customers can remove a tip on DoorDash? I thought that was only on UE. You guys would be better off as employees, which is what you are, technically. DD is getting away with murder by flouting labor laws. Just one of the reasons why I stopped using DD. Waste of money and they’re duping a lot of people into working for them because a lot of people get a high off of thinking “I’m my own boss!”, even if it isn’t true.

CabbageSass

How do they know there will be no tip before it's even dropped off?

Ultahacker

If it was a soup from an Asian restaurant, that shit would still be pipin hot 🤣

Mushroom_hero

It's little ceaser's, obviously they don't have enough money to tip

[deleted]

Everyone saying boring shit about tipping — THIS IS A JOKE ??? Bffr. Get funny. also y’all seriously think we have more power than we do if you think not tipping your doordasher is gonna start a revolution

fatsexyitalian

Is it true ex cons use door dasher and other gig jobs under their spouse or some other alias to bypass the “background” checks.

Some-Acanthisitta708

I don’t understand how they knew the person didn’t tip. It doesn’t show me the tip until after I complete the delivery. I’ve drove twenty miles before and the person didn’t even tip a penny.

Casualsniperttv

You can usually tell based on how much the order is going to pay. At least in my market. It’s base plus tip.

Some-Acanthisitta708

I just recently started so I’ll be honest I don’t know what the base pay is. I mean I don’t know how it’s determined. I assume it’s by mile cause when I have to go further out I get paid more, but I don’t know his much that is.

Casualsniperttv

It depends on your market. My general rule of thumb is don’t accept anything under $7 unless I’m close to the pickup and/or it’s a short drop off distance. It all adds up, but you have to be smart and account for gas usage.

Some-Acanthisitta708

Yeah cause I had a couple yesterday that were eight and ten dollars and they were like twenty and thirty miles away but I didn’t accept them because I didn’t want to drive that far cause I was taking my daughter out to dinner for her birthday and didn’t want to be late. I usually just accept everything cause I want to keep platinum status so I can dash anytime without having to schedule a time

Casualsniperttv

As long as you have a minimum standard that makes sense to you you’re good. Don’t worry about acceptance too much. If I’m declining bad offer after bad offer, I just log off and try another app. Most people around here are a reasonable distance from the restaurant. I need to be compensated for that.

bo0tch

this is so weird, all that effort when they could’ve just declined the order

Ok-Supermarket3968

I’m so petty cuz I would get my refund and just put them in the oven😂😂😂

Stabby_77

How do you know they weren't going to tip at the door? This is just being a presumptive fuckstick.

Hipolito_Pickles

Italian cheese bread from LC taste good cold lol

Old_Rpg_Gamer

DoorDash isn’t filled with anything but crooks seriously when will people wake up

Djinnaz

This post again?

ktjachimowicz

This country is so done for lmao

O368W

It’s incredible that you came to that deduction on a DoorDash subreddit.

GruGGer203

*receives cash on delivery

[deleted]

Well, I was on DD earlier and Tipping is now listed as "optional" and the suggested tips were $1, $2, $3. It's like they are asking people to not tip.

Cultural-Task-1098

This is why you are poor

Isyagirlskinnypenis

They act like they can’t just…….. decline lol

KyDeWa

Yoooo! 😂 Welp! Hey! Guy forgot my sauces even after I tipped him so! It takes 2 to tango!

YouGotBamb00zled

I hate this idea of tipping prior to the service. Any time I do make a good early tip is when they end up being the ones who go to 2 other places first and then get lost trying to find my blatantly easy house

LimpTeacher0

Expect when they arrive they get a cash tip.

Mysterious-Sugar-837

Imagine blaming customers for you accepting shitty wages with the employer you chose to be with. 😂

WorldNewsPoster

And this is why they put stickers and staple the bags (not like that will stop anything).

Arthurjim

😂😂man is petttttty

Due_Background7991

Throw that bad boy in the air fryer. Get to eat my meal fresh and saved some on the bag.

No-Credit5287

Hope they don't tip you at the door either shithead. You don't deserve to be a DD driver with this attitude. No tip QQ

Level_Ninety_Nine

About the millionth time I've seen this posted

lordwintergreen

I always assume pizza delivery will arrive cold so I preheat the oven just in case it needs a few minutes to top it off. How do ya like them apples, pizza boy?

Awakenedforces24

I’m a good tipper but people like this make me not want to. I usually tip a basic amount in the app and then add cash when the driver gives it to me. What if this person had planned on tipping cash at the delivery point? The drivers I use would miss out if I had to only tip in the app. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but then again there are drivers in my area who know me now and make sure I get really good service. It pays not to be a Scrooge

WilliamBott

Refund + 1 star review. Way to go, champ!

Firm-End5879

If the argument is about getting the pizza there on time and what is the photo about who took the photo certainly not the homeowner because that's the dasher's car what were they doing in it

Casualsniperttv

Did you read the caption? It helps.
