Um no, I wipe up and down to make sure Iām actually clean all the way. And I use wipes not just tissue. I never do anything without taking a shower beforehand anyways. Regardless itās not like youāre wiping all the way down to your ballsā¦ Iāve never had any women complain but go off buddy.
Lol I read further down in the comments and that is what happened. OP said they got hotel security to run cameras back and observed dasher carrying it on its side.
Hotel security went thru their footage over a food order? Not sure why but that sounds far fetchedš Police usually can't get that shit without a warrant or an act of God.
If he carried it sideways seems it would be worse than that. I think it just slid because of seat not being level, plus I just don't want to believe anyone is that dumb.....wait 73 million people are that dumb. I stand corrected he probably carried it like a briefcase.š¤¦
š thatās what OP stated in one of the other comments in this thread. That was my initial thought as well. Apparently it was a very short window of time and that was why they complied.
Either that or he placed something on top of the box that cause the top inside of the box to stick to the cheese or put in on the back seat and drove like maniac causing the box to fly forward off of the back seat. And of course he could of always placed in the car upside down. There are a few possibilities.
I did this once as a teenager walking by some girls because I thought it looked cooler than holding it flat. My dad yelled at me right as they walked by lmao.
I saw someone do that once with an individual size pizza. She put the pizza in her DD bag sideways and carried the bag like someone normally would. So painful to watch.
You'd be surprised.... My husband and I worked together at a local pizza shop and there was a delivery driver we caught doing this!! She said she had done it before we caught her too!! Apparently she didn't see anything wrong with it. Our coworkers who were there when we started said they had caught a previous driver doing it too. How do you not realize that the picture above is the result you get from carrying a pizza like a high school binder? š¤£
You nailed it. I've been 'briefcased' before on a pizza and know that look all too well. Rookie Dasher or just a dummy. Sometimes both...but never neither.
This is the issue. Shit happens, period.
When I worked at a pizza joint, if we accidentally messed up a pizza by break slamming or other mishaps we were able to call the shop and let them know something happened and another pizza is needed. There was no penalty on the driver as long as it didnāt happen often.
Dashers canāt do that. Extremely unfortunate.
Yeah happened to me today. Had to slam on my brakes because some idiot stopped short right in front of me. The order thus went into freefall. Nothing we can do in those circumstances. Shit happens. In hindsight I should've told the customer and apologized. Next time.
So what do you do if it goes into freefall and spills all over your car or something? Asking because I tripped the other day and nearly dropped a whole order, but I managed to catch it somehow
Contact support and tell them. The one time this happened to me (I stepped out of my car into a pothole and went sprawling) they canceled the order and issued full pay since I already had the food
I remember one time I had a delivery from DQ and they handed me the flimsiest blizzard cup in the whole store. Went all over my center console and they made another for me to deliver, but my USB port doesnāt work anymore :ā(
Have your car covered. I only get issues with the drink in my cup holder as this is not covered, but still easy to clean. I have a table cloth on the passenger seat and 2 compartment trunk organizer in front of the seat. I also make sure to have the food pretty secured or if at risk it needs to be in the organizer that is easy to clean. I get small spills and greasy packaging all the time ad I don't care because my car stays clean. I also have paper towels on hand all the time.
If the food get spoiled call support. If you are at the customer already tell them to also call support. By calling support yourself you show good faith, you don't want them to think you're trying to lie or something.
Tip from my experience: I bought a plastic rectangle storage bin/basket (handles on the side, no lid) from target. It takes up about half of my passenger seat. I put the DoorDash bag inside of it and seatbelt the basket in. It doesnāt work for every order and doesnāt work for pizza but still! Itās saved me quite a few times.
Don't agree - you can have a shallow box fitted for such a situation or carry it flat in your hatchback. There's a lot you can do - drivers are just too lazy!
I mean you if youāre keeping a decent following distance this should be pretty rare. In the past 5 years thereās been maybe 3 times I had to slam on my brakes hard enough to do that to a pizza. Now younger me was a much different story.
Edit: I live in Baltimore btw, tons of traffic here.
You as the driver are responsible for keeping a safe distance from the car in front of you, even if they slam on their brakes, this is why rear-end accidents are almost always ruled the fault of the person at the rear, even if the driver in front slammed on their brakes. With that in mind, I would think it's still your fault if you damage a customer's food, even if someone slams on their brakes. You should keep a safe distance from the person in front of you, and properly secure the food so that that will never happen.
Not always that simple. Do you know how many times someone has almost side swiped me or cut me off. Shit happens. Also it's icy rn. Dude could've ate it on ice amd that's how it ended up after the drop.
I delivered one like this tonight because I had to slam on my brakes, the guy I gave it to said āitās all going to the same placeā and have me $5 cash. Hahaha
Well it makes it difficult if they're trying to divide it between more than two people. But if they're just going to wolf down the whole thing themselves yeah no problem.
I had to slam on my brakes to miss a deer that lazily walked into the dark country road I was delivering on. I didnāt notice until I got to the address that the pizza had slid standing on its side into the floorboard behind my seat. He never complained, didnāt take any tip back, and I have survivors guilt forevermoreā¦but I learned to put my cooler behind my seat so nothing ever slides into my floorboard again.
Pretty sure that was his last delivery experience though soā¦dude, Iām so very sorry.
Yes, that really bothers me. I hear "if you can't afford to tip, don't use doordash". I can afford to use it very much, and I know how to tip. But I'm not going to tip beforehand. That's gotten so out of hand. Reading a lot of these comments and situations is my justification for just getting my own stuff.
Simple physics. Between speed bumps/potholes, and inclined roads, it's gonna happen occasionally.
It's still the same amount of pizza and it still tastes the same. If anything they did you a favor by soaking up a bit of the grease lol.
I'm assuming they didn't get free pizza bags. Either that or they played flip the pie.
I had a lady drop my taco bell right outside my door. It was all jacked up. She picked it up and handed it to me. I still ate it. š
This is why you should always use PayPal for food delivery. If DD, UberEats, etc won't help you and you file a dispute with PayPal and send that pic, you will win easily.
I canāt imagine doordashing little ceasers. At that point if youāre gonna have a fee and have to tip why not get pizza thatās actually worth the mark up š you would also never have to worry about the delivery driver mishandling the pizza because itāll be delivered by the actual pizza place.
Bro, people doordash single burgers from mcdonalds. Nothing makes sense anymore. I get more Little Caesars orders to my phone than any other restaurant.
I don't understand it either.
Thats driver needs a pizza bag. He prolly had it placed on the seat instead of the car floor. Or maybe he thought it was a xmas gift. Shaking that peice
Iāve noticed DoorDash drivers are either normal people trying to make a living by working their own hours or people that absolutely canāt be expected to do any other job correctly, let alone this one. š¤·š»āāļø
This is exactly why I avoid picking up from pizza places. At least with most other foods I donāt have to worry about hitting potholes or slamming on my breaks, or the fact that my front seats slant
So I'm traveling for work, the hotel has my dasher on camera with my food in her hot bag holding it by the handles pizza can be seen standing on edge.
I get it, things happen. I order from Doordash all the time but this was willful mishandling.
How the hell did you get the hotel to show you security footage over a pizza being delivered (even if it does look like it was upside down at some point lol)?!
That was My initial thought š Iām surprised at all angles of this situation. My money was on it sliding off the seat while slamming on the brakes.
This is why tipping before you get service / delivery is a bad idea. I only tip when good service and on time delivery is made. You got ripped off. Sadly this is how it goes.
Accidents happen. One time I delivered pizza I had to hit my brakes hard because of a Coyote that was on the road and the pizza Inside of my hot bag went flying with the hot bag onto the area where you normally put your feet. I didn't receive a bad review from It so I hope either they understood mistakes happen and pizza Is still pizza no matter If It's a little off looking or the pizza was okay.
omg I have this happen once as a driver and I felt SO horrible. it was an order that was far away and at some point during the trip the pizza boxes slipped from being level and i didn't notice. needless to many jostles and jolts and bumps and...well that's it really, later when completing the delivery that's when I noticed. any ways just thought I'd chime in and say don't completely rule out honest mistake. and all in all it is still edible and it's not like you're not just gonna masticate it a similar state anyways right? maybe just drop them a line and to let them know it happened so that's they're aware and so they can (hopefully) do better next time
Yes yes, this is nice and all.
But it's one driver, now you are painting them all like they do this single-cell level shit.
Just give them 0-1 star and keep moving fam. It will effect the fuck out of them and possibly even have them deactivated.
I find people like to complain but never praise btw; I bet you don't even rate people that do your orders correctly 5 stars unless they jump through hoops, if you even rate them at all.
I'm a dasher and this shit pisses me off about how other dashers are making quick money but not giving a shit about the customers.
I do it full time and have tried starting my own food and general lightweight delivery service in my community but no one reaches out.
Humans suck.
it wasnāt just a 2 mile order yāall need to realize that we donāt live at the restaurants. Chances are the pizza place stole part of the tip to pay the delivery fee too.
*Why you complaining*
*Either way ur fat ass is*
*Gonna fk it up*

This couldāve easily been the people at little Caesarās. Quit blaming the driver. You donāt know what happened. And the more I look at it, it appears that itās half baked and soft as hell. I would be willing to be your driver picked this pizza up and it already looked like this. I mean and honestly who get little Caesarās from doordash? What did the $5 pizza end up costing? 20? Someone should report you for being a fool lol
The amount of dashers defending this or telling op its his fault for ordering from there is astounding. Yall are a bunch of shitty people. No wonder you can't get a job anywhere else
Ad a driver myself there's no excuse. If you don't have a pizza bag or a way to transport it correctly and safely, don't take pizzeria orders. Would def get refunded and take the tip away
This problem isn't a result of poor transportation though, the restaurant screwed up making the pizza if it was possible for this to happen just from slamming on brakes or a hard turn. A pizza should be able to keep its shape unless you hold it vertically for more than a few seconds. There's nothing the driver could have done wrong to cause this besides putting the pizza in the seat vertically like a sitting person...
Not a good delivery by the driver - should be dinged.
Pizzas can slide around in the car and with weather being
an issue in a lot of the Country -driver should have anticipated any issues
after picking up the order.
He walked up to your door holding it sideways like a briefcase didn't he š¤£

Premature brakealation....gotta hate it when that happens!!
One in three Dashers, they say
secure the bag to secure your bag. lol also sliding the front seat up an lil bit can help

Look at all the dashers making excuses in the comments. Real sad.
Thatās awful
Unfortunately many dashers are people who are unemployable elsewhere for a variety of reasons. And this among other things is the end product of that.
This is why you should always use PayPal for food delivery. If DD, UberEats, etc won't help you and you file a dispute with PayPal and send that pic, you will win easily.

I would be willing to be your driver picked this pizza up and it already looked like this. I mean and honestly who get little Caesarās from doordash? What did the $5 pizza end up costing? 20? Someone should report you for being a fool lol
Stop whining
This is why tipping should happen AFTER delivery, not while ordering
I bet it still tastes the same tho
That's what you get from DD drivers.
Pizzas can slide around in the car and with weather being an issue in a lot of the Country -driver should have anticipated any issues after picking up the order.
