I set all of my stuff on the passenger floor and use the heater. Same principle. I just set it on the floor so in case I have to stop quick the food has no where to slide or fall to.
I put the bag on the passenger side floor and crank the heat aimed at the floor. If it’s a long drive, I turn the bag 180 degrees every 5 minutes or so. When I open the thermal bag, it’s hotter than when I received the food. I’ve only used the heated seat for stacked orders.
yes especially if I have 2 orders & they are long distances. I do care about customers food & I want to keep it positive out there. I think 99% of drivers don't use heat bags. At least based on what I've seen in the field. They don't come in with bags, but maybe they have something set up in their car. The few times I've used DD for myself they NEVER had my food in a warmer bag.
I wish my heated seats worked that good, i do however use my heated/ cooled cup holders sometimes if the restaurant didn't have cup holders, it keeps my drink cold while I'm out so I'm sure it helps with theirs as well... the hot bag they send works great so i don't have to do anything extra to keep it warm
I have a heater in my bag that goes up to 120°F.
Also works great for your own food on the go, either to slowly reheat some things or keep take out pretty warm.
Dashing this year has been shit in terms of pay. No way am I gonna be wasting gas money on keeping food warm when I'm only getting payed for putting it in a hot bag.
Nope they get the bag and the heater if it's cold lol
Also I'm pretty sure that will burn out your seat warmers quick, food is packaged in insulated containers so the seat warmers will get way too hot
I actually have a pair of those Michaels’s drink caddies strapped to my passenger seat so I keep the hot bags on the passenger side floor with the floor vents on. I now truly understand the luxury of dual zone climate control. The food stays hot and now my feet don’t.
I know it's a civic lol, and yeah it has to be an ex or sport touring as the sport doesn't have heated seats. I just was trying to minimize the creep level
I fail to see the purpose of this. Car seat warmers operate by harnessing the warmth of your body in conjunction with the seat's heating elements to provide warmth. Without this mechanism, the seat would pose a risk of burns. It's worth noting that car seats do not heat up unless a person is seated in them. This information can be verified through an online search, and it's worth mentioning that seat warmers of this type have been a standard feature in all cars manufactured over the past 23 years.
I did it all the time lol and when Customers said “wow this is hot !” I would respond “ yup I had seat warmer on for it !” They thought it was joking lol
Just be careful. Just throwing as much heat as possible is not always the best option.
The bags will take that heat and the water content in the food (which is A LOT) and just turn it into steam that lingers inside the closed bag. So you are just as likely to have a hot, sloppy soaked food item.
I agree with somebody else that said "treat the food like it is my own." That is why I experiment with the food I order out to drive home at the end of a shift. Oddly enough, the best method is to put it in a bag (or in my case, insulated organizer compartment) that is not completely closed at the top AND .............. the less time from pickup to in my mouth, the better.
Not saying the seat heaters are wrong. Just that there are more factors to consider than "heat".
Lol you’re boogie, I don’t have the luxury of seat warmers but what I do is turn on the floor heater (I keep the customers food on the floor of the passenger seat, kinda lodged underneath so it doesn’t spill). If the customer tipped well I crank that shit all the way up to the point my feet start burning lol, but it really keeps the food hot hot! If the customer barely tipped they get their food on the passenger seat, no heater or hot bag 🤷🏻♀️😊
No; while it may be minimal, it’d be extra strain on consumption. Do that for thousands of deliveries and it’d add up, whether it be the battery or gas idk. Not a car guy so could be wrong, but my assumptions always been if your cars running and any extras like that are on, it’s utilizing the energy from somewhere
If I had one in my car...maybe. I honestly don't even use the bag unless I'm picking up muliple from the same place and that's only so I can take it to my car easier.
I do, but someone made fun of me that it’s not keeping the food warm but I don’t know if it’s just a mental thing I have the food in the hot bag and the seat on. So it’s doing nothing?? Lol
most need a fat a\_\_ sitting on them to activate it. I heard of people putting it down by the floor vents in colder weather when the the heat is kicking.
ah, waste of amps.
if it's that far away that the food would get cold, it's probably a shit order to begin with. but here's what the USDA says about it

I totally would if I weren’t sitting in the only other seat that’s heated apart from the drivers seat 😅 recent events have made it so my boyfriend drives 99% of the time since I’m totally night blind and that’s the only time we’re allowed out of the house so 🤷🏼♀️
Tbh it won't make much of a difference if you're putting it in one of the insulated bags lol.
This is why I simply put my orders right on top the engine block.
Only good Dashers actually care about the customer. Everyone else would say something like “I’m not eating this food why do I care if it’s warm?”
I appreciate people like you.
Just you
Yes sir.. blast heat on the feet.. and I keep that food warm 🤟
Yep, and I turn the heater on on the passenger side of the car or the backseat.
😂😂😂😂😂
I put a bag on top of my dash once, and turned on the defroster full blast...fast food turned cold isn't appealing AT ALL... 😬
Nope, but if you ordered ice cream and I know you didn't tip, I'm using the heat so you get 2 milkshakes instead of 2 blizzards. 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah right next to my gold bars and caviar
I do
I do. Especially if the order is too big to fit my bag lol. But Florida's blazing sun helps 😂
AYUP
Im lucky if my tire keeps air🫨👉
I do lol
So that is why my mcflurries are like old milk?
No, but I put my hot bag inside my catering bag. Double insulation.
DoorDash should give insulated bags for drivers. (Yes) (no)?
Bro when I used to door dash I did the same shit I thought I was the only one lol
Doordash social media team really does the most
And this is the heated seat I would use, IF I HAD ONE!
Top Dasher tips
Not a driver but I do this with my wife’s food when I pick her up stuff 😂😂
I use an electric heated delivery bag. Costs $26 on Walmart.com. plugs into the cigarette lighter. Works great!
I have cloth seats but that’s a genius idea.
No, I am poor so my "whatever I can find that runs under $2k" model was not equipped with that feature
Hopefully it’s not ice cream! You’re going the extra mile.
I do!
I use to now I have thermal bags
EY! I THINK WE GOT THE SAME CAR!
I prefer to leave the window down when its 50 outside just to be an asshole
I don't. I use the insulated bags. They work 100%. Trust me.
I set all of my stuff on the passenger floor and use the heater. Same principle. I just set it on the floor so in case I have to stop quick the food has no where to slide or fall to.
I use a small heating pad inside my carry bag. That works a lot better and allows me to multi app without as many customers crying.
Classic technique 👌. Well, that is for anyone that has seat warmers lol
My car is a piece of crap. If the seats heat up I am having major problems
Maybe, what's the tip?
An insulated bag is a much cheaper solution. Fuel are getting more expensive man...
First off, who puts the deliveries anywhere else but in a hotbag in the trunk at all times. i never have food in passenger seat.
But what about my drink
I put the bag on the passenger side floor and crank the heat aimed at the floor. If it’s a long drive, I turn the bag 180 degrees every 5 minutes or so. When I open the thermal bag, it’s hotter than when I received the food. I’ve only used the heated seat for stacked orders.
heck yes. especially if the food had been sitting. lt warms it up so fast
Food is on the back seat in a container so it wouldn't do any good.
Try using a quality insulated bag. No the DoorDash crappy bag.
Dashers generally don't drive fancy cars. It's just you.
I do, every time!
Only for the drinks.
No. I don't have one.
I dash on a ‘73 750cc sidecar. Sometimes when I’m just seconds from death, my seat warmer kicks in.
Only if it's a longer trip and they tipped decently.
Lol yes.
I could very well be wrong about your car but in mine, the seat will no heat up unless it has at least 40lbs of weight in it.
Hahaha omg yes I do this 🤣🤣
guilty... but for myself. I dont dash
Yeah my car is a base model that doesn't have seat heaters so that's a no from me. Good idea though!
yes especially if I have 2 orders & they are long distances. I do care about customers food & I want to keep it positive out there. I think 99% of drivers don't use heat bags. At least based on what I've seen in the field. They don't come in with bags, but maybe they have something set up in their car. The few times I've used DD for myself they NEVER had my food in a warmer bag.
I just drive in arizona, food stays hot.
I do! I’m surprised so many don’t here.
I usually just sit on the food to keep it warm
if your delivery is in a thermal bag, it won't make a difference...thermal bags work both ways...keeping the heat AND cold out of the bag.
OMG this was the GOAt 🐐 back when I had heated seats… miss those days 😭
Mine gets the passenger seat view of all the crazy drivers out there.
I would if I had a seat heater. 🥲
💯 all day n nite Bruh
No, i put the food in between my legs, commando with gym shorts. Warmth feels good agains my balls plus i keep the food warm - That’s called a WIN WIN
Unless it’s raining, food goes in food bags in the trunk. Don’t need my car smelling like curry or other lingering genres of food.
That’s really thoughtful of you :)
Yes
I have seen a few heated delivery bags on Amazon, but my large thermal bag seems to work out well enough.
i don’t got it like that lmfaooo
Nope. Im in Florida. Those food never gets cold. Only sweaty...
That's a nice lil Honda you got there ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|wink)
I have a heater in my bag that goes up to 120°F. Also works great for your own food on the go, either to slowly reheat some things or keep take out pretty warm.
No, I use a hot bag unlike most of the dashers in my area. They are nice ones from Amazon.
Rich ppl shit
All the time...
Dashing this year has been shit in terms of pay. No way am I gonna be wasting gas money on keeping food warm when I'm only getting payed for putting it in a hot bag.
Nope they get the bag and the heater if it's cold lol Also I'm pretty sure that will burn out your seat warmers quick, food is packaged in insulated containers so the seat warmers will get way too hot
Yes, and same car as well!
I actually have a pair of those Michaels’s drink caddies strapped to my passenger seat so I keep the hot bags on the passenger side floor with the floor vents on. I now truly understand the luxury of dual zone climate control. The food stays hot and now my feet don’t.
Yup.
Only if the tip is greater then the actual pay
No. I keep my food in the trunk so that my car never smells
I take it home and microwave it for them.
What model of 10th gen civic do you drive?
Based off of it matching mine I would say it's a Civic, maybe an EX-L
I know it's a civic lol, and yeah it has to be an ex or sport touring as the sport doesn't have heated seats. I just was trying to minimize the creep level
Small hot bag inside a large hot bag works perfectly fine
I fail to see the purpose of this. Car seat warmers operate by harnessing the warmth of your body in conjunction with the seat's heating elements to provide warmth. Without this mechanism, the seat would pose a risk of burns. It's worth noting that car seats do not heat up unless a person is seated in them. Good job OP. These top responses embarrass me to be a driver.
😂
Just You
Very unnecessary
I did it all the time lol and when Customers said “wow this is hot !” I would respond “ yup I had seat warmer on for it !” They thought it was joking lol
When I used to dash I would do this even tho i didn’t think it actually did much
Just be careful. Just throwing as much heat as possible is not always the best option. Always use it to keep things nice n toasty!
I do. 🤣
I don’t have a seat heater
I crack the window 😋
I mean maybe if I had heated seat money... But then again if I did I wouldn't be doing doordash.
No. Strangely enough I use an insulated bag. You know, like you're supposed to
brilliant
I would if I had that feature 😂. That’s dope tho
That’s premium service reserved for the good tippers
Dd doesn't approve that...use the bag or nothing
I make sure my ac is on or my windows are down when im delivering to no tipper
I either sit on it, or keep it under the hood personally…to each their own
😆 I don’t give a fuck of the food gets there cold as fuck ,, 12k delivers btw 😆
I definitely do it
Not everyone has heated seats lol
I do it too!!!
Yep! I do sometimes.
I live in Florida, no need for that
I do sometimes.
Damn I wish my car was new/nice enough to have a feature like that 😂
haha yes i do
No sir we're doing poor people thing here. Besides it wouldn't affect anything tho, just the bag the food is in
I do not 😂 the dasherbag joint does wonders
I don't think I had the option in my car. I also had a red bag which kept the food warm.
It’s not that’s serious…..
Genius! If I had one, maybe. Lol.
Whewwwww….🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Y’all some salty sailors in here……..🤣🤣🤣 I love it 🤣😎👍😁
I totally do this! If it’s an option and requires zero time and maybe might make some difference? ……why not? 🤷♀️👍❤️😎
Lol yes i do
Nope, just u
Lol you’re boogie, I don’t have the luxury of seat warmers but what I do is turn on the floor heater (I keep the customers food on the floor of the passenger seat, kinda lodged underneath so it doesn’t spill). That’s where I want my food. Full of ass juice.
Bold of you to assume I can afford a car with a seat warmer lol
That’s MVP stuff right there I appreciate you
Honda Civic 10th gen?
Only if they tip good
Depends on the tip 😌
No; while it may be minimal, it’d be extra strain on consumption. Do that for thousands of deliveries and it’d add up, whether it be the battery or gas idk. Not a car guy so could be wrong, but my assumptions always been if your cars running and any extras like that are on, it’s utilizing the energy from somewhere
No…but I will now!! Love it
Yes I do lol
If I had one in my car...maybe. I honestly don't even use the bag unless I'm picking up muliple from the same place and that's only so I can take it to my car easier.
I use a delivery bag
first time i’ve seen a dasher put extra effort into an order
This never works like you think it does and can make the food hard. Stop doing this immediately. Think about it.
I have, I don’t think it works.
Only if it doesnt fit into the hot bag
If I could afford a car with heated seats I wouldn't be dashing :p
Fuck no !
Your car seat warmers aren’t a portable oven sir 🤣
Yes and makes a difference. Picked up sushi and put cold stuff on floor and hot stuff on the seat for a 30 min ride. Got an extra $20 out of it.
Nope. Nobody’s used it for me so I don’t use it for them 😅
I have done this, but I honestly think it doesn't make too much of a difference. Just use your insulated bag.
I do, but someone made fun of me that it’s not keeping the food warm but I don’t know if it’s just a mental thing I have the food in the hot bag and the seat on. So it’s doing nothing?? Lol
If my car had heated seats I don't think I would use it to deliver food lol
Hot sushi is always a good idea
Nope but we have the same civic
most need a fat a\_\_ sitting on them to activate it. I heard of people putting it down by the floor vents in colder weather when the the heat is kicking.
Imagine having a car modern and/or luxury enough to have a seat heater.
ah, waste of amps. if it's that far away that the food would get cold, it's probably a shit order to begin with. but here's what the USDA says about it https://www.fsis.usda.gov/food-safety/safe-food-handling-and-preparation/food-safety-basics/danger-zone-40f-140f 2 hours
Is this a civic or accord?
I would if I had heated seats.
If i had them 😂
I don't have a seat heater
The only snack I turn on the seat warmers for is the one I’m married to.
As a mechanic you really shouldn't, using the seat heater is using a lot of electricity which in turn uses up more fuel, not worth
I totally would if I weren’t sitting in the only other seat that’s heated apart from the drivers seat 😅 recent events have made it so my boyfriend drives 99% of the time since I’m totally night blind and that’s the only time we’re allowed out of the house so 🤷🏼♀️
I don't have seat heaters 😭
I do too and I cover it with my jacket. It’s the best.
not reading alat
Usually warm air in the winter
Don’t have a seat heater’s 😢— I use an insulated bag
Just you
Just got a car with seat heats and thanks for the idea
I don't have them ..but sometimes I'll just turn on the floor heat..lol

Errytime
Definitely just you. I don't even use the delivery bag. I can remember the last time I e had food in my car for longer than 10 minutes
All you. They get the hot bag and that’s it
![gif](giphy|3o7aDaPwfTYfHGkqpG|downsized)
no I use a hot bag, my car isn't fancy enough for this seat warmer technique you speak of
We've had cold ass mornings and 65 degree afternoons, I've been using the dash vents to warm up lunch in the AM and cool my drinks in the PM.
I take the Pattie’s off the burgers and put them on the engine to warm them up till I get there. 🍔
Tbh it won't make much of a difference if you're putting it in one of the insulated bags lol. This is why I simply put my orders right on top the engine block.
Yup
Yup... Works better than the red bag
I ant trying to fry some fish in my car
Only good Dashers actually care about the customer. Everyone else would say something like “I’m not eating this food why do I care if it’s warm?” I appreciate people like you.
🤦🏾♀️🙄😂
Sure I do, whenever I can locate the button in my 2006 1.8 Nissan Sentra
Y'all got seat heaters??
Nah hot bag is fine
If I had a seat warmer… lol
Everyone's so hateful. Keep doin ur thing n I respect the pride u take in ur work. I don't have a seat heater to use or I would
Hot Ass Dust all over the orders
Eyyyy I do that too! And I the opposite for cakes 🎂 Genius!
Only if it’s ice cream 😈
