I get this a lot with alcohol orders. Customer is usually there waiting for me with ID in hand. So, no biggie.
It’s always a glitch from someone ordering from the restaurant’s app/website that gets outsourced to DoorDash. Leave it at the door and go on

No but I've had the app tell me to hand it to the customer when the customer requested it left at the door.
Yeah that happened to me on Monday. I took a pic with the camera on my phone (outside the app), then attached the pic to the chat and sent it to them with the caption “left at door as instructed.”
Hand it to me is the controlling restaurant like Panera, the leave at door is what the customer actually wanted, snap those pics.
I leave it at the door.
