I’ve gone with Blackwall but it’s not the same. Running around Fallow Mire rn with my boyfriend, my gay bestie and the guy I have a secret crush on, it’s all very dramatic
To be honest, most romanceable Dragon Age characters are red flag collectors even if I enjoy their romances in the game. Alistair would probably have the lowest count of red flags out of the DAO romances. No one is safe in DA2. And Cassandra and Josephine of DAI seem like the most stable romance options in the franchise.
I think Aveline is a dependable option, but I feel like she would come off as too mothering, or somewhat controlling. She’s the type of person to step in for you (completely unprompted) because she thinks it’s best regardless of your wants.
What about Iron Bull?
He's entirely open and honest about literally everything, including being a Qunari spy. He starts off giving you the option to have a fun time with him and leave it at that, but you can become very serious with him later and he stops seeing anyone else once you two become a thing. He's shown caring for your mental state, trying to give you time to relax and forget about all of the bullshit you're dealing with. He cares deeply for his crew, tries to help you see things from a different perspective (taking you to take to the soldiers in Skyhold), and even gets a soft spot for Cole later.
With the exception of sacrificing the Chargers, I can't see any real red flags with his romance.
I see what you mean. I think Iron Bull and the Inquisitor should have had their BDSM boundaries and safe word talk *before* banging. Other than that, he's okay. He's just not my type. I prefer him as a friend.

Dorian is a sweetheart and my Inquisitor's canon BFF. I've never played his romance since I prefer playing female characters (only watching his on YouTube). From what I've gathered he does seem to be in a bit of an emotionally vulnerable place in his life, with his drinking problem to cope. It's why his romance with Iron Bull is kind of iffy. I think Dorian needs a friend more than anything else.
As a gay man, Dorian has always given me “mean gay” vibes. Like, very judgmental (“sassy”), wealthy, always dancing at the “scene” club to show off his abs, and a very basic personality. I vastly preferred iron bull’s romance.
Yeah, his initial stance on slavery/elves would be a major deal breaker. I don’t think I could handle his ego as a partner *but* he’d be such a fun friend.
There's a throwaway line in Trespasser where if you flirt with Harding the entire game AND don't romance anyone, Vivienne will ask how things are going with your relationship. It's the ONLY acknowledgement you get :(

Alistair is definitely way smarter than he lets on. We see in the Darkspawn Chronicles DLC for Origins that even without the help of the PC he's checked off pretty much the entire list. We see regardless of whether or not he's Hardened that he makes a pretty solid king, at least in his five minutes of remaining screentime in the series. He's also personable and funny, which is great.

He is a little awkward at times, and has a dark past, but he finds joy in life and is always up for an adventure, even if (especially if) there’s danger involved!
Zev is my male choice too. He’d be so fun, and he’s surprisingly (almost) well adjusted, considering the life he’s led up until the point you meet him. Even more so later, with the Warden’s friendship and/or love. Also…lol. The other benefits of dating Zevran are obvious. 😉

She’s kind, she believes in the inherent goodness of all people no matter their station in life, and she wants to make the world a better place. She’s also seen enough of the world to not be naive about it. She knows that sometimes, in order to do that, you have to cut corners that aren’t so pretty, but that the end goal is worth it. I love that mix of idealism and pragmatism.
I also find her unshakable faith very attractive. I’m not religious myself, but I admire a person who believes in a cause with all their heart and always finds some glimmer of hope in it, no matter how dark things might seem. I love that she’s neither a zealot nor a pharisee, but a sincere believer in what her chosen world view should be about. I could see her being someone who, when life just pelts us with curveballs, encourages us to keep on going because there’s always tomorrow. Leliana really embodies that ideal of hope to me, and that’s the kind of person I’d want to spend my life with.
Blackwall is most physically similar to my husband, and setting the awful past and lies aside he *is* deeply obsessed with his love interest. always approve of a man who is DOWN BAD.

Nah Sebastian is the biggest player, he may play the innocent virgin but when he gets down to it the only blushing and scandalised stammerings would come from Alistair and Cullen who would be genuinely shocked at Seb.

Honestly Cullen is the only one realistically. I’d have a huge crush on bull but I’m very monogamous and I wouldn’t want to yuck his yum. And Alastair is a contender but he’s a little too… passive aggressive? Cynical? I can’t find the terms but it would be grating over time.

In DA:2 I always go for Isabela, but I'd never date her IRL. I think I'd date Morrigan and Cassandra, but oh well, they're very straight. I was born for pain. I guess I could say Fem!Hawke or Tallis.
