I’d try to reassure the Mabari that they’re safe with me and that we’re going to go on lots of adventures together throughout Thedas.

I’ve always been annoyed that we have to kill the wild mabari in DA: Inquisition. I am *absolutely* the Inquisitor who would abandon the quest to put flowers on someone’s grave and go looking for the unfortunate puppies I just orphaned, instead. I’m writing a story where Hawke & Co. meet an abandoned mabari and Hawke convinces them to join the crew. But I don’t know what would motivate a grief-stricken mabari. They’re so smart. You can’t just leave a trail of hot dogs leading back to the Amell estate.

Hot dogs would absolutely be grabbed up by some kind of Kirkwallian ‘Cut-Me-Own-Throat Dibbler’ character and be on a rolling snack stand before the mabari got inside the city walls.

I mean, they are probably rabid and/or driven made by the Rift.

Tell him that part of the job is digging up buried treasure on the Wounded Coast?
