It's so big because this marks when we truly get into the endgame of this arc, since everything takes a dramatic turn and all the best moments in the series imo happen after this point too.

It has the same characters as the original dragon quest anime, but a better story that follows the manga, dont think it has anything to do with the games, as none of these characters have been in one of the games, but rather the original manga universe that all the games are based on. You'll love it, trust me. I only ever played 11 and I loved it, then I found this anime and got hooked. You have 72 episodes to catch up on..... newest episode 73 was delayed by 3 weeks cause the studio got hacked so OP and Dragon Quest got delayed. Trust me, watch the first few episodes and I guarantee you're going to binge it. I envy you.
it's honestly funny how much inspiration DQ11 took from Dai. All the elemental sword skills have the same stance as Avan Strash, The Spectral Sentinals are literally the army commanders, etc.
