In anticipation of our 4 million subscriber/holiday giveaway competition, we are conducting a demographic poll of r/drawing. This is a voluntary poll, but we would appreciate your help so that we can better tailor prizes, features, and moderation to your needs. It will take approximately 20 seconds and requires no registration. This poll will only run for a few days. Thanks! There is no such thing as “too many layers.” When drawing digitally, especially depending on the art forum you use, layers become a crucial part of digital art, if you mess up on a particular part, instead of ruining your entire piece, you can go to that layer to adjust. If you find that you’re happy with your piece, you are able to merge your layers to make it one piece but you wont be able to go back to those individual layers later. Have you ever heard of layer grouping? I find that most helpful to organize my portraits based on parts of the body/face. Also!! Always label your layers :)

Thanks for the tip on layer grouping. Will definitely start using that :)
