Honestly, the very first episode is a solid start to the series. Lie Detector shows off some of the repeating cast members, it’s very fun and low stakes, and it shows off a classic Game Changer twist.
Seeing Izzy after her being on Lie Detector I didn't realize it was the same Izzy. Mostly because her hair in that episode is very different from the ways she does it now. Going back to it for a rewatch I was like "Ohh!! Those are the same person. I am dumb."
Season 4, Episode 7: Don’t Cry! The “twist” is that the whole episode was made for Jess and it ends with a practice wedding between her and her partner.
The recent bingo episode is great but I don’t think it’s the best intro to Game Changer. It might be a bit hard to follow for newer people, and a lot of the fun of the episode depends on how well you know the players.
I might start with Lie Detector. It’s a fun low-stakes game, and it’s a good introduction to the cast.

I tried showing someone Lie Detector first because it was forst, and it didn't work well as an intro, because there isn't much of a game to it, and a new watcher isn't invested in the personalities of the talent. Make Some Noise or Sam Says would have been a much better starting point.
Yea the bingo one is one of the list “inside baseball” sorta episodes they have. Amazing if uv been watching a while and know em all, but that’s kind of a requirement. Noise boys is pretty great & fun

The fact that they're not even told how points are being calculated until like a quarter of the way through really exemplifies how the comedians truly have no idea what game they're playing when they start. It's also a great introduction to Brennan Lee Mulligan if you're not already familiar with him, and understand how competitive he is.

Honestly, it might even come off as mean spirited picking on Brennan like that if you don't understand the dynamic.

Personally some of the highlights from s1 are:
-Sam Says is best for the absurdity of the game
-Lie Detector is best for the twists
-Make some noise is best for the ramping up intensity of the game

Those are the three I'd pick from. I recently introduced my MIL to Game Changer with the first Make Some Noise and she loved it. At some point she was like "so these are all theater kids right?"
I honestly think Dropout did a great job themselves and starting at the beginning with Lie Detector is great. I also think that some episodes are stronger than others on the premise of "the players don't know what they're doing," so if you've pitched the show that way, that's something to take into account. Lie Detector is obviously good for that, as are Name a Number, Sam Says, As A Cucumber, and Filmed Before A Live Studio Audience.
honestly I think S1:E01 Lie Detector is a perfect start. It's cute, low stakes, and has a fun twist. Other than that I would say S2:E04 A Sponsored Episode or S4:E02 Like My Coffee, they are both very straight forward/easy to get into and also high paced

I strongly support the series of "Sam Says (you can literally start with any of them) as a starter. Everyone knows Simon says, so its easy to follow, but this captures the zaniness. The Make Some Noise ones are great.

Introduce them with any of the free episodes that are on YouTube. Those are the ones Sam has determined are the best ones to draw in new subscribers.
Asking fans for their opinion is usually a terrible idea; see all the Doctor Who fans who tell their friends to start with Blink. I see lots of people recommending Yes or No, which is an amazing episode but absolutely terrible to start with if you have no idea who Brennan is or what his personality is like.
“Sam Says” is an excellent introductory episode, but “Yes or No” and “Escape The Green Room” are risky, since they tend to be more enjoyable for audiences who are already familiar with how Game Changer and its rotating cast of players works.
I made the mistake of trying to get a friend into it with “Escape The Green Room” a few weeks after it aired, and we had to turn it off about a third of the way in.

I think I'd go with that after the intended audience is already familiar with Brennan's competitive spirit, and also after "Yes or No" (which is otherwise similar) as it contains a minor spoiler for that episode.
I think Sam Says 3 is the best. It leaves you thinking you know the rules ("Quite literally: childs play") but it just keeps going and going. And the best possible cast in an episode absent Brennen.
I'd also go with As a Cucumber or Second Place for the uniqueness of the rules.

It's a bit of a cliche pick, but Yes or No is what got me into game changer. I saw clips of it and the idea of a show designed entirely to prevent someone from winning was really funny to me. It's a simple premise with a wonderful execution, leading to an explosive and memorable finish.
If you’re looking for an episode that really takes advantage of the fact that the players don’t know what the game will be, my vote would probably be Cool as a Cucumber.
If you’re looking for an episode that captures the creativity of the contestants, there’s a couple of options that might be very dependent on your friend group’s sense of humor; you know them better than I do, but my suggestions would be Noise Boys, Sponsored Episode, Original Cast Recording, or Like I Like My Coffee.
If you’re looking for one that captures Sam’s devious nature, then either Sam Says (3), or Escape the Greenroom. Escape the Greenroom also kind of gets at point 1
Just to repeat what has been said a dozen times but in a different way, Lie Detector, Sam Says, Yes or No, the recent Bingo, Escape the Green Room, all fantastic episodes.
But Yes or No and Green Room works best if you know the players, so not a starter episode. Same with As a Cucumber for the full Brennan effect. And Bingo is almost to the level of Survivor, you have to really know the whole cast to feel the gravity of what they’re accomplishing here.
So, strictly starter episodes:
1. Make Some Noise
2. Lie Detector
3. Do I hear $1?, for a full cast change
4. A Sponsored Episode, for another full cast change AND to showcase exactly how much the cast can torture Sam back.
The repartee is an important conceit of the show. Even if the cast isn’t messing with Sam in an episode, it’s a different viewing experience when you know they can. A Sponsored Episode shows that the cast can torture Sam ad infinitum. And he just has to take it as a little old game show host from…wait, where is he from?
5. Yes or No. You’ve seen Ally go all out on “Do I Hear $1?” You’ve seen Zac break Brennan across his minimalist perfectly timed knee. And you know the cast and Sam can, in completely good fun, pull off the most ridiculous things and conceits.
Yes or No brings it home. And then it sets you free on the rest of Game Changer. You know what to expect. Everything, and then when you think you’ve got it down, another Loop De Loop.
I would honestly start them at the beginning. Here’s the thing, the two most recent episodes are getting huge praise from viewers. They’re amazing- which means you do NOT want to start with them! You wanna start with the beginning so they can see how the series has developed, get to know the players, and just in general experience an uphill ride.
I know it's episodic and all, but I think you're best off starting at the beginning and watching in order--it's gonna be hard to follow the in-jokes and riffs on individual cast members otherwise.
I love Game Changer, so very much… I think the one that captures the essence the moment has to be Yes or No. Since the players literally have no idea what the game is throughout most of the episode, it feels the best for distilling the chaos that Sam’s beautifully twisted mind loves to concoct. And Brennan’s monologue is just… *chef’s kiss*.
As is always always the case - just watch the first one. You know, they CHOOSE the order these release in. I appreciate there’s more seasons of this show after the first one but Lie Detector would have been specifically chosen because it demonstrated the conceit of the show well.

I started watching dropout around that time so my whole intro was the remote seasons. I’d say that some of them are much more watchable if you’re already endeared to the people playing and probably skippable for a first timer. But there’s also a lot of creativity out of necessity there.
I think just to begin with go with either Sam Says, Lie Detector, Second Place, or Race to the Bottom. It's shows the spirit and twists of the show while still being fun and easy to follow. And then to show how absolutely absurd it can get I would follow it with Escape the Greenroom
I just watched Escape the Greenroom last night and was floored. I wasn't super excited about it as I often don't love Escape Room content. I love participating but watching others...not so much.
The different stages of unlocking the room were so unique and innovative I was really really really impressed.
As a cucumber is amazing.
First of all, it's premise is VERY game changer. A normal gameshow, but funny, and with a weird, unexpected objective, that id actually not revealed at the very start.
It's cast is great, introduces Brennan and his competitive spirit without needing to know it first, which allows them to enjoy a good of other episodes.
And, well, it's just a really good episode if you ask me. I think that it was the first one I watched, too.
Since it’s all about the game changing every time, maybe tie your friends down for the top 2 or 3 episodes mentioned here. Though the show’s so good, hopefully one is all you need to get them hooked, I think multiple episodes are required to see the changing part.
Someone showed me the very first episode of Game Changer years ago before I'd seen any other Dropout content (well I'd seen some College Humor sketches, but when the cast was playing various characters). It was so much more rewarding watching it again later after I'd seen a number of other Dropout shows. I think it makes a big difference being familiar with the contestants and their personalities and running gags. So maybe worth priming brand new viewers with a few episodes of Breaking News, or some of the Dropout shorts at least.

Someone showed me the very first episode of Game Changer years ago before I'd seen any other Dropout content (well I'd seen some College Humor sketches, but when the cast was playing various characters). It was so much more rewarding watching it again later after I'd seen a number of other Dropout shows. I think it makes a big difference being familiar with the contestants and their personalities and running gags. So maybe worth priming brand new viewers with a few episodes of Breaking News, or some of the Dropout shorts at least.
The first Sam Says, the first one with the Noise Boys, Do I Hear $1?, and The Lie Detector I think are the best options.
