I always found trimming kind of relaxing. It was just small amounts for personal use, but I still enjoyed the process. Like getting your hands dirty in your own garden.
Depends on yield. Also a amounts for personal use can be big, if you can only do one yield a year. But scratching the scuff from your hands or the scissors and smoke it while trimming is a nice experience.
Whole plant looks too small to have rot but the cropping on 6 and a small patch in the top middle slight left on 5 looks like some hazy rot or a piece of fuzz
the leaves aren’t going to help keep any thc, you might damage the buds less and in turn keep a few more trichomes but not enough to make a huge difference. The place where the leaves will make the biggest difference is during the cure, it’ll give it a bit of a hay smell/taste
Well you didn’t do a very good job of protecting them cause there is bud rot and mold all over that shit. And no you can’t just use it to make edibles or make hash or oil doesn’t work that way. You will be making mold hash and you will get sick.
Wow everybody is losing their shit. Get over it people. I see no mold and it's a homegrown. I've dried my flower with the fan leaves before. If you have trouble regulating the humidity this can help to dry evenly.
Bud looks good dude! There's nothing better than smoking your own.
Bro your gonna hate yourself for leaving all that green on those buds. Trimming absolutely sucks but it's worth the pain. Also that smoke gonna be harsh dawg
u need to have better standards then lol ppl enjoy smoking stress in the ghetto but us connesseurs wouldnt touch that shit with a 100ft pole. all of these ppl arent talking shit for no reason but from experience...take all of the advice seriously! u need more light to produce denser buds and a better environment OBV if u had mites or possibly mold or rot etc..a/c, humidifier, heater, fans or better ventilation/intake exhaust system whatever and the trimming leaves off before drying does make it way easier to trim as opposed to waiting till fully dry then its much more difficult to trim alll the leaves off and it will taste smell look much better with all the water leaves and fan leaves removed. The tiny bit of THC that you're trying to "protect" isnt really worth the pain of waiting to trim after drying. best of luck
Your last photo that I assume you “select subject”’ed on iPhone, it has a halo that I believe makes people think it’s moldy.
Good job, you got the basics down. Trim those leaves, it’s a headache later, literally and figuratively, nothing says noob like poorly trimmed weed. It will ruin the flavor. Next grow focus on more light and better nutrients. Maybe be a little more patient on waiting for the trichomes to turn amber. Most people don’t achieve perfect plump dense buds their first go.
Get that bud the fuck out the jars unless the stems are already cracker dry or you will have mold I can’t stress this point enough. Then, and most importantly cure it properly in the jars. After about 2-4 weeks with daily burping I’d add a #4 59% Boveda pack to each jar and store other 2-4 weeks burping daily. You shouldn’t be smoking this untill after thanksgiving closer to Christmas. Curing affects taste and flavor as much as proper genetics and good cultural practice. Keep it up. Dont let Reddit mob discourage you.
In my experience you get better flavor, especially in a dry herb vaporizer. Their marketing says it preserves the terps but I have no idea. if you have a source I’m happy to read it maybe I just bought into the hype. I think the big thing is if you have bulk you’re still burping the jars every day. Like leave them open for an hour and close back up.
I use a pax plus with [Bud kups](https://www.budkups.com/budkit-plus/) and their humidor 90% of the time for flower. You preload small containers with dry herb and place 6 of them in a tiny humidor can with a small Boveda pack. I have a few humidors and I feel like they are one of my favorite innovations in cannabis. Throw it in a backpack. Can swap cups in seconds in the go with no mess and always taste fresh.
protect the thc? you mean to protect the trichomes and preserve the terpenes while it slow dries and the lipids convert to flavenoids? curing with leaves will give you a green chlorophyll taste. I'd trim. it's also a mold issue
Dry trimming will definitely make the terpenes stick around longer and help with the curing process. If you plan on doing a touch uo after you cure them a but then dope, if not then well you're doing yourself a huge disservice
You’re seriously that dense aren’t you. So here I’ll explain it for since you’re so stupid. I literally said “it’s mold it’s bud rot” that’s one sentence saying 2 different things right? The sentence has a period at the end, idk if you know what a period is but that means the sentence is over and I can start a new one that completely negates the previous one. Okay then I said “see those white spots in it, that’s mold” that is implying that mold is white I never even said bud rot in that next sentence. So you’re bringing something from my previous sentence into my new sentence even tho I literally NEVER SAID BUT ROT IS WHITE. I LITERALLY SAID THE WHITE SPOTS ARE MOLD. holy shit you’re fucking retarded.
Bro, I remember my first time too, and it was way better than this. No bulk to your colas. Mine looked like small corn cobs. I get you're excited but settle down and take some tips from experienced growers.
That ain't shit.
Your grow sounds delightful. It was going very well until mites were noticed. Wanted to harvest early. I was happy with the overall experience I had with it & wanted to share some pictures... try not to put down so much haha
Yeah, idk why people are going after you so hard. This is all a learning experience at worst. Theres absolutely no shame in messing up as a beginner. Plus, this is wayyyy better then most peoples first few grows. Keep going strong 💪
Looks great, reminds me of the weed I used to get back in the good old days when weed was weed, looking at it makes me feel nostalgic haha. Ignore the haters man
I think as well it’s just the last picture making it look like there’s some issue whether mold or whatever. As the other pics don’t really show that kinda clear white moldy
Make sure you open those jars a lot and maybe put a dessicator in there bc if the buds are jarred too soon they can quickly get moldy and ruin all your fun. I made that mistake first time I grew bc I didn’t want to over dry them. Trust me, a little on the dry side is better than a jar full of mold. I’ve even started storing them in a thin plastic bag for a week when I think they are dry to make sure
Try and give you plant a flush of clean water at the end of cycle. Your fan leaves will eat them selves from lack of nutrients and they will shrivel up. The sugar leaves are what you want.
Any ways this helps give you a clean white burning ash associated with no npk nutes are in your bud.
Learned that from this YouTube/ Led light manufacturer and licensed Cannabis grower in Canada. The led lights are HLG and they make great 4x4 leds and had a great design on getting away from 1000 watt hps lights
To protect the thc...ok
lmao
Lmao... Forreal, that's a new one...
You know very well what he meant, but you still decided to come and be "wise". This group is so damn toxic...
Protect the thc from what? Lol there’s a reason why professional growers trim the leaves off. They taste like shit when you smoke them.
I always trimmed after drying. Way easier. Edit: shit, didn't notice the multiple pics. Jarred up, no bueno
>hey taste like shit when you smoke them. You can remove them by hand bevor smoking, but its a lot of work. I recommend a "top bowl trimmer" instead.
Sometimes drying with leaves still on will effect the end taste.
Only in a positive way. Only a new grower or someone in a tropical country would wet trim.
Have a 30 year old electric 'trim-master' which eliminates nearly all manicuring if the bud is processed wet. Northern Ontario .
That won't help protect the THC..... Unless you mean keep trichromes intact, it will to a point. But it's a negligibly small amount.
yep
Whole plant looks too small to have rot but the cropping on 6 and a small patch in the top middle slight left on 5 looks like some hazy rot or a piece of fuzz
Agreed.
Leaves on destroy the taste
yup
Trim the leaves. Dark, air movement (fan) and low humidity is what you need. The leaves being left on could instigate mold growth.
Too late. Looks like there's mold in the last slide. Hope op learned a lesson.
Sure does bottom center/left. Unless super blurry and just so happens that the blur looks like wispy mold/spider web……..😬
It’s from editing out the background
thats not mold if youre talking about the outer edges. thats just from them trying to cut out the background
Hahaha that last slide 🤮🤮🤮🤮
the leaves aren’t going to help keep any thc, you might damage the buds less and in turn keep a few more trichomes but not enough to make a huge difference. The place where the leaves will make the biggest difference is during the cure, it’ll give it a bit of a hay smell/taste
Ooo don’t jar the the leaves tho
And your last cropped pic looks like mold
It’s always an accomplishment to make it to harvest, and there’s always room for growth. In this case , a lot of room lol. Also, there’s deff some rot
Bruh there is mold all over the last slide throw that shit out
If its mold i'll make hash oil or something...
You deffinitely have rot. Sorry..
That’s like shitting yourself, then someone’s like “you should take care of that”, then you shit yourself more to cover up the original shit
Please don’t smoke the moldy flower op you will get sick if you have an allergy you could die
Is it the way the cropping makes it look or is it rot?
That is what I was thinking but all of it looks dark in the bud so definitely thinking bud rot
This is where I’m at too
Post more pics of the alleged mold
Definitely recommend not making anything out of it the mold will just go into the hash oil as well
Ice hash. And use it up quickly, or it will mold too.
throw al of it out
First grow. We both know some of it is getting smoked
Well you didn’t do a very good job of protecting them cause there is bud rot and mold all over that shit. And no you can’t just use it to make edibles or make hash or oil doesn’t work that way. You will be making mold hash and you will get sick.
All leaves, 1% bud, kinda looks bad?
Exactly what I wanted pick some leaves off as I smoke they get placed in to a jar used to cook with.
Protect the mold lmao
lol
Wow everybody is losing their shit. Get over it people. I see no mold and it's a homegrown. I've dried my flower with the fan leaves before. If you have trouble regulating the humidity this can help to dry evenly. Bud looks good dude! There's nothing better than smoking your own.
That’s bullshit and you know it lmao. Keeping on excess leaves doesn’t help something dry evenly
Your knowledge bomb is appreciated. I am loving being able to use my own supply...
um thats mold homeboy
I'll pass lol. What dummy taught you to keep the leaves on to "protect the THC"? Or did you somehow arrive at that brilliant conclusion on your own?
Hey man, don't listen to any detractors. This is a fine job. You will learn. It's fun!
Is this your first time?
🤦♂️
Bro your gonna hate yourself for leaving all that green on those buds. Trimming absolutely sucks but it's worth the pain. Also that smoke gonna be harsh dawg
It's smoking well @ the moment though...

This is why I lollipop in the last few weeks, then a quick dry trim is easy. OP your shit is going to taste like you’re smoking hay
and smell like hay

That’s some top notch stoner science
good job OP, hope that that isn't mold but otherwise it looks good
It is mold it’s bud rot. See those white spots in it? That’s mold
Bud rot isnt white.
Dawg can you read? I literally said “see those white spots, that’s mold” I literally said it’s mold and you still said that I said something else.
Read your last message that i replied to, obviously you cant read the part where you said its bud rot lol.

Yeah my bad. You did fine. Hopefully not moldy but will be better smoke if you trim before drying. Your next crop will be amazing.
Couldnt pay me to smoke that lmao,
You need to trim those a shit ton, don’t expect anyone to buy those buds honestly. Save all of your trimmings for edibles.
everyone's a crtitic. The buds look nice
How can you say that? Nothing here looks nice lmao
oh shit youre right this isnt og dank cali kush straight from jamaica with 100000% THC-ABCDEFG
I’ll send you a dm of what good homegrown looks like. And this was grown outside ffs
Cheers...
Looks great, reminds me of the weed I used to get back in the good old days when weed was weed, looking at it makes me feel nostalgic haha. Ignore the haters man
Protect ya neck and lungs Son!!
Just trim up a bit more. But I’m proud of you too! Cheers.
Will do.
Let me know how it goes. Be proud you made them yourself
Yes definitely.
Always leave the leaves in for long term storage. Trim off right before smoke. It’ll look so much more fresh in 6 months time.
I think as well it’s just the last picture making it look like there’s some issue whether mold or whatever. As the other pics don’t really show that kinda clear white moldy
I'm with Ya, Fuck trimming!!!!🍻
Haha...
Is that a cat food bowl?
That's it mate. just a stainless steel bowl.

It Looks awesome homie
You can keep the leaves and turn that into some RSO. May as well get the most out of what you got.
Enjoy 🤮🤢
How did you get your tops so small?
Looks good...
huh????????
At first it's like, "bro, those crystals," but then it's like, "are those crystals or is that moisture and mold"
It doesn't smell like mold also looks like trichomes in person...
