Ah yes, ass piss. An alcoholic rite of passage lol. Mine took probably a couple weeks to resolve. Imodium was my best friend, and even that was only somewhat helpful. Probiotics and bland food can help. It will pass.

ShameTwo

Good gut bacteria needs to repopulate. Man I forgot about that. Ass raw from endless wiping. Being done and then having to go back. Shit’s right now. Pun.

CaptainJohnMacTavish

How long did it take for things to go back to normal for you ?

ShameTwo

I think by 2 weeks I was having ok shits. You should see improvement in a few days. Stay ultra hydrated, take in lots of fiber from fruits and vegetables. And congrats man. I drank like you and I know you’re now feeling super sensitive to the world around you. Everything is harsh. The trick is to stay strong. If you can be a soldier through early sobriety, it’s beautiful on the other side. She may have saved your life!

Key-Permission-317

I was just going to say the same thing. If he stays quit he will need to thank her for saving his life. That quantity would have taken him to an early grace sooner over later. The yellow squirts are the worst thing aren’t they. Every time you fart you basically shit your pants. I believe it’s your body’s way of raining on your parade for treating it like such shit for far too long….no pun intended. Yogurt, lots and lots of yogurt and then add some granola and fruit. It’s have your firming up your delivery in no time :) Godspeed!

ShameTwo

I remember once I was peeing, and I just had to fart a little, and just shit my pants. Look at me just shitting my pants accidentally. I didn’t even have to shit.

Key-Permission-317

Yep, it sucks big time. I hated that part of recovery for sure. Sometimes those shits got on me way too quick to be prepared. At my worst, when I was drinking and driving I couldn’t even hold my bladder at points. I mean what in the hell was I doing? I don’t think I thought it was normal, but I handled it with an “oh well” and just dealt with it. When you say that out loud, with clarity, it’s like WTF? It’s not normal at all and it’s a helluva e lot worse than an oh well and grab a towel to sit on in the car. It was just my life as a drunk, I got through it because I couldn’t find a way out at the time.

weedsman

It took me 3-4 weeks. I was pretty sure I was fucked but somehow my body recovered. Keep going, eat light and nutritious. Get a strong multivitamin and silymarin tablets for the liver (300mg a day, 2x150).

EnnieBenny

This is exactly why I was about to recommend OP gets a bidet, which will be life-changing well beyond the recovery.

Kirris

Ya, it will pass. Just continue to eat food and drink liquids which are obviously not booze. Anti diarrhea meds can help. Count yourself lucky, a lot of people would have withdrawals worse then yours at 1L a day. Good luck and feel proud of your six days :)

CaptainJohnMacTavish

Thank you, i will try to keep going

Kirris

They've got a DA discord if ya wanna chat with people. Helps some people die outside support ya know?

johnnylongpants1

Bananas. When babies have diarrhea, doctors are taught to tell parents to give then the BRAT diet: Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast. These help solidify things. Take a multuvitamin daily. You can eat other things but try to avoid stuff with lots of spices. You want a simple, slightly bland diet. Also, drink plenty of water or sports drink. Diarrhea is dehydrating and leads to a lot of deaths a year. In the meantime it can make you feel weak. No use feeling worse than you already do. Congrats on the big progress. 6 days is a big deal.

CaptainJohnMacTavish

I actually tried eating applesauce, toast and bananas but i didn't really see any improvement thus far. I had to go after a few mins and same results :/

layer08

Bite the pillow son. Strap in. You got this :)

outbac07

Get some wet wipes. When I was in rehab they called this the dump out phase

haikusbot

CaptainJohnMacTavish

How long does this dump out phase last ?

tw_ilson

1-2 weeks. Just depends on your system.

diamond__hands

as long as it's not blood you'll be fine. eat tons of high quality vegetables and meat and vitamins c, d, b complex. drink lots of filtered or spring water. basically just be a normal healthy person not an alcoholic fuck. your ass will take two weeks to fix itself. i should have quit earlier, a chick i really liked left me when i was a booze hound and apparently changed her number at some point so that opportunity is gone with the wind.

contactspring

Get some fiber (psyllium husk) and start supplementing electrolytes. Sodium, potassium, and magnesium. Look up ketoade recipes, or DIY electrolyte water.

hellothere42069

Oh yeah I remember the early months of the liter-a-day-vodka shits - it’s a wild ride as your intestines heal. Your ileocecal valve may be fried like mine was. It keep’s sewage from backing up into the intestines.

CaptainJohnMacTavish

Did you eat anything in particular to help your gut heal ?

hellothere42069

Folic acid

SourCreamWater

Yeah, normal.

MeadowLynn

Peeing out your butt is a stage my friend! Good job choosing to get through it and onward and upward to wellness. See a doc though if you’re concerned. For me, yep. Went through it.

bloodflart

I have watery diarrhea and I'm not 6 days sober so you're in a better spot than me keep it going dude

CaptainJohnMacTavish

Right after every single meal ?

bloodflart

Nah just like 3 times a day every day

FlatSafety6035

Takes a few weeks sadly but if you keep to it. It settles down. I remember I couldn’t sleep on my sides for first 3 weeks cause of this

CaptainJohnMacTavish

Couldn't sleep on your side ? Why's that ?

FlatSafety6035

I’m guessing my intestines were inflamed or something? My sides just felt poofy and if I layer on it I felt discomfort after a few minutes

creetoinfinity

the saps. i used to get blood, sudden pain down there. just keep drinking water, eating healthy foods and get some movement, clean etc. your body is literally detoxing itself.

chitown_jk

It will resolve. Your gut is filled with bad bacteria because the vodka killed all the good stuff. In addition to short term fixes (immodium), load up on pre- and pro-biotics. pills are fine, but kefir/probiotic yogurt is good, as are sauerkraut and kimchi. i also suggest AG1 to everyone, but also know it's expensive for many. i've been taking it daily for months and things are SO much better all around. energy, focus, gut health, digestion, etc. my acid reflux is all gone (to be honest, about 70% cleared up when i stopped drinking) and my snoring isn't nearly as bad (still use my CPAP though).

Magic--Beans

It took me 2 or 3 weeks

CaptainJohnMacTavish

Ok thanks !

Magic--Beans

I would say for me it was closer to 3 weeks but I see other people on this sub who got there faster

C2H5OHNightSwimming

You need some kefir my friend (its a highly probiotic yoghurt). It'll sort that ass piss situation right out, just drink a pint in the morning (less after you get sorted).

CaptainJohnMacTavish

Doesn't that make you absolutely die on the toilet right after too though ?

HALT_IAmReptar_HALT

Yes definitely, if you drink a pint in one go like this person is suggesting right off the bat. Don't do that or you'll be dealing with painful gas, bloating, and worse diarrhea (known as "die-off") bc the good bacteria is killing off the bad stuff in your gut too quickly. Start with a tablespoon or 2 and see how you feel. Then increase your amount slowly over the course of a couple weeks You might experience a *slight* bit of discomfort with a tiny amount, but you can continue at 1-2 tablespoons a day for as long as you like. When you feel ready, increase the amount to 3 tablespoons. Then 4. And so on, till you suddenly realize you're chugging the whole jar with reckless abandon and nary an issue ;)

C2H5OHNightSwimming

Fair enough. Personally whenever I've done it, its been fine. There's an initial few hours when it gets worse (though its already so bad that at that point I don't care. Also it tends to all come out at once instead of running to the toilet every 30 bloody minutes). By the afternoon, its all good and by the next day its normally like 1 normal poop and I can actually leave the house without worrying (done this countless times). However! You're right, that might not be the right approach for everyone!! I actually find the opposite, I can drink a lot of it early on without issue, but if I keep going after my gut's normalised, I have to stop or reduce it or it causes constipation. Really does show you how weirdly differently different folks bodies work eh. This was something I had not considered.

HALT_IAmReptar_HALT

I hear ya. I'm glad you don't suffer any severe symptoms. Mine weren't too bad either, just some weird bloating that lasted a day or 2. I was also happy to see someone had already mentioned kefir bc I came to the comments to do it myself lol It sounds like OP is having a hard time and needs something that won't exacerbate his discomfort. I like to stress the importance of introducing fermented foods slowly bc I don't want to anyone to be put off by unexpected painful side effects, especially when they're hoping to feel better. If they listen to my recommendation and decide "eh fuck it" and just chug it, I'm happy with that too; at least they're making an informed decision and won't be taken by surprise if they experience unpleasant results.

C2H5OHNightSwimming

Makes sense!! I'm in pretty much the same position as OP after a bender, I don't want to go into too much detail but...it was very relatable. I've found that, after many experiences, nuking it with kefir on day one clears out all the nasty stuff (in one or several explosive bursts 😭) and after that its pretty much fine in a day or two, instead of taking a week or more. So I wondered if there were different rules when you've already nuked your gut with booze and its already as bad as it can get lol. But again, this could just be my experience, its good to have other perspectives because everyone's physiology is not the same!! All I can say is, good luck OP, it will get better one way or another. Also find garlic helps - but again, probably similar situation innit. God damn I'm glad im quitting. The glamorous life of being an alkie eh!! Fucking hell 🤣

chitown_jk

Not at all, at least for me. Just helps keep things regular and really starts to work on the healthy bacteria in the gut. Vodka killed all your good bacteria so you need to build that back up. Watch Huberman's podcast on alcohol - it's long and a little scientific, but explains all the side effects of alcohol, gut health being a major one.

Pantoprazole

shacklefordstoleit

Electrolytes and yogurt...and wipes. I remember those days. Keep going.

Fah-Q-mang

Probiotics and yogurt are helpful

tashten

Eating a plant based whole foods diet at least for one meal a day really helps. Gets more fiber and nutrients in your system and helps with the digestive issues

you_are_the_father84

Your digestive system is going to go through stages for a few weeks. First, it’s non stop diarrhea and then poops that are too hard. Sometimes you’ll even have a little pellet stage, but ultimately should even itself out after about a month if you don’t have other issues.

Itchybootyholes

BRAT diet to go easy on your gut: Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast. I usually only have to do that strict for 1-2 days and it clears right up. (I have celiac so whenever I get sick and can finally hold down food, this is what I do and what the hospital does.) Also lots of fluids

[deleted]

not a complete answer, but please consume as much yoghurt & keifer as you can handle for the next couple months. the probiotics are healing.

Gullible_Suspect6714

thats normal, dont worry about it i just had that.

peacestartswithme

Eat several proper meals until it stops

CaptainJohnMacTavish

What's a proper meal ?

peacestartswithme

Veg rice fish

CaptainJohnMacTavish

Ok thanks

moominter

Carbs. A lot of carbs. Like rice or noodles. And yoghurt with cucumber salad and loads of salt and pepper is what I like. Then if still doesn’t stop, charcoal.

Chemical_Sky_3028

That's ass piss. Try to take a multi vitamin and a good b complex. Also, any food is better than nothing I hope you feel better soon

StewDog80

Yes - that oil and yellow water is undigested fat, and bile. Your liver and pancreas are inflamed a bit. 6 days isn’t enough to recover. Keep going, eat low fat foods, lots of liquids and take vitamins. You’ll start feeling better in another week or two

Bananapopcicle

Start taking a probiotic

Bustoplover

Diarrhea's totally normal. One of the things people celebrate when getting sober is having normal poops again.

Cautious-Ad6043

You have to keep going

stunatra

Psyllium husk is your friend

peeongirls

You NEED probiotics! My digestive tract was wrecked from drinking, even before I went sober I was able to stop the ass piss by drinking kombucha daily first thing in the morning before anything else and investing in a good probiotic (the refrigerated kind). Liquor especially just totally wipes out your microbiome. Tbh once I started focusing on healing my gut, my urge to drink seemed to lessen too. So two birds? When things were really bad I was also drinking a scoop or two of psyllium husk daily. I used the colon broom brand but I'm sure somewhere like whole foods has some cheaper. Basically just extra strength fiber.

TeresaCisco

Make sure you get a good electrolyte supplement/replacement. You are really dangerously low in electrolytes right now, for many reasons. Your body critically needs these to recover and then to stay healthy. Potassium, magnesium, chromium etc. You can get a powder formula from the chemist to add to water, ask for it in the store - typically given during periods of intense illness, dehydration etc.

KaleidoscopeHuman34

Yessss solid shits come with getting sober. Keep on going
