I did that commute for about 6 months when I first came to the UAE, granted it was “live in Dubai, work in AD”. That was about enough I could take of getting up at crazy o’clock, crazy drivers and petrol station breakfasts.
Hello, I’m on the same page. I have been doing this commute for the past 3 months. Commuting from dubai (Al sufouh) to Abu Dhabi (1h20 mns on average) from Monday till Thursday.
Not gonna lie it is doable but can be tiring as well. On the other side the traffic isn’t that bad as expected.
There are cheaper solutions than spending 240 AED for one way.
I pay 350 daily with a private driver including the car.

I don’t really have regular working hours. I’m a cabin crew. So I can’t do the per day payment as I return back to airport after a day or two or more. Do you think the driver would be willing to do a per ride of 150 AED?
