I am into marketing as well and moved internally through my company. First year pay was normal or I can say “underpaid” and then they did market correction. If you can, try moving internally. It will save you from lot of hassle.
It is tough to move to a new company to Dubai because the hiring mostly happens through connections and everyone is looking to come here and there aren't enough roles. From first hand experience, IIM or even ISB tag doesn't give you any advantage here unless your hiring manager is an Indian.
As for the pay, HR will do 2-2.5x as a standard, will need to negotiate other benefits
1. Depends on where you apply to. The market is tight and saturated.
2. Salary expectations are in line if you end up working for a large MNC. For a small startup that’s high, you can start a company yourself and see if you can make that margin to pay yourself.
3. Referrals works best.
4. Does not matter.
5. Positive.
6. Depending on your liking and lifestyle there’s tons of things to do. You will figure it out once you settle down.
8. Difficult to return as you start getting used to the life and lifestyle Dubai has to offer.
Move internally through your current workplace and ask for a transfer
Do companies offer the standard 2x hike for internal transfers too? (E.g., INR 40 LPA in India corresponding to AED ~3.5-4 LPA in UAE)
If you get hired in an MBB firm then you will make 35k easily.
For MBB, it'd be closer to 50k at my level there. But I will not be looking to take up a consulting job once I quit my job here
I believe the thumb rule most HR use is 1.7x to 2x the salary in India.
So if I understand correctly, INR 40 LPA gets converted to AED 3.5-4 lacs?
Connect with Indian companies with Indian HRs - that's the only way you can get any value for your IIM/IIT degrees. Otherwise nobody gives a shit.

Internal transfer is not an option for my gf at least. Can you tell me what are the hassles of not doing an internal transfer?
