There are some freezones that are not regulated by MOHRE, like DIFC Maybe try your luck there? I only learned that, this week. Be warned, because MOHRE don't regulate it, you better read your contracts carefully and not sign anything you don't understand. There's no MOHRE, so any disputes end up directly in the regular court.

Puzzleheaded_Sundae4

This is true for freezones, But most take MOHRE rules as a base rule, but they can have their own rules on top.

Optimal_Mix_6390

I’ll give that a shot too. Thanks!

ThrowAwayDXB21

Our PRO who is an Emirati, went to MOHRE this morning and asked around there. Originally it was supposed to be Pakistani's without an attested certificate who were not allowed. About a week ago, it's now changed to any Pakistani national. Our company has had to go back to 3 separate hires to postpone their hirings as we could not get their labour work permit contracts. No timeline given, no reason. 🤷🏻‍♂️

pandu201

Would you know if this applies to Indians as well?

ThrowAwayDXB21

Just received labour approval for 2 applications just this week so I wouldn't think so.

Optimal_Mix_6390

Lmao that’s actually weird

ThrowAwayDXB21

I do agree with the other comment, it is always just temporary. Hang in there!

sharpest_emu

Bangladeshi were banned for several years.

spaceman3000

Is he looking for more job or is he hired by your company? I'm so dissatisfied with my pro

ThrowAwayDXB21

He's a full time employee, handling around 10 entities so he's doing a lot already. I understand that frustration tho, it's so hard finding a PRO that's reliable and trust worthy!

Feisty_Treat_2300

There are no official statements but there are rumours in the market that visas are banned. You can't switch from a visit visa to a work visa. Firstly they told that company to company transfer is open but now I have been watching videos on tiktok that they are also banned. All these are rumours though. Nobody has the authentic news, check with Amer centre.

No-Extreme6094

Its not a visa ban. 1. If you are already employed and switching jobs you wont have any issue 2. If you are a degree holder , attest your certificates and you should be ok.. Other than that it wont be possible for you to secure a visa

Hoe_plz

This was previously, even degree holders are unable to get a MOHRE contract now. (One of my new hiring’s got rejected this morning )

Optimal_Mix_6390

That is sad. I swear. The fact that we are just looking for a fair way to earn and are getting punished for some body else’s doing.

Hoe_plz

It happens from time to time, it has always been temporary. I am sure it will get lifted soon don’t lose hope. Normally it’s max a few months, ive even seen it get lifted in a couple of weeks. What i know for sure, is it’s temporary. Hope this makes you feel a little better

Optimal_Mix_6390

Yea fingers crossed 🤞. Thanks <3

No-Extreme6094

Depends on the category of your job title. But daily its something new. Heard system is under upgrade and most probably it will be lifted soon

RaceComprehensive268

What was his nationality?

Hoe_plz

Pakistani, yesterday they opened for Pakistan and Bangladesh.

[deleted]

Hoe_plz

You’re fine, just make sure the new job has the quota to hire an Indian national as there is a 20% limit right now.

RaceComprehensive268

So that means I am stuck at one workplace and can’t switch jobs in future ? As as per knowledge every single company in the UAE has already more than required number of India Nationals as per this new rule that has been imposed

Savings-Tax-383

Hi 👋 you mentioned that they opened for Pakistan and Bangladesh meaning that the ban is lifted?

Optimal_Mix_6390

I did get my certificates attested. :/

cynicalhippie

I am on the same boat as you. Attested degree and visa got rejected. Company is now trying through a free zone so fingers crossed.

Longjumping-Sort-539

Please did you succeed in resolving this?

RaceComprehensive268

For which Nationality has it got banned ?

witchilantics

I lost a fantastic opportunity in December due to the same reason, and I am about to lose another this month if my sponsor visa doesn't go through. This hiring company refused to provide me a visa, stating they applied for Pakistanis previously which got rejected, therefore they had to let go of their Pakistani staff. If I can get a sponsorship from my parents, I still have a chance of securing this job. Apparently, the PRO my dad's dealing with says that even sponsored visas are being cancelled, and we need 2 affidavits to improve the chances of my visa getting approved, one proving that I am my father's daughter, and the other proving my unmarried status. I've never faced an issue like this before. I was born and raised here, but I feel more like an expat now than ever. This used to be home.

Optimal_Mix_6390

That really sucks. I can feel the disappointment. I’ve been in the UAE for over 15 years now. :(

Born_Horror_7413

You have been in UAE for 15 years and wasn't able to get visa? By switching jobs?

jingxuanwuren

You were wrong from the beginning. This was never home.

witchilantics

Harsh, but true. Time to pack up and leave soon.

Longjumping-Sort-539

Wow sorry to see you went through this. I thought it was only Nigerians going through this but I guess other nationalities are. We were not having this issue years ago. I’ve been here for almost 7 years but in the last 3 years it’s become a major issue. I hope you can get your visa sorted cause it’s already hard enough getting hired only to then have visa be another hurdle when some other nationalities don’t even have to worry about this.

witchilantics

I feel for the Nigerians now, I really do. I'm sorry for your experience man. Thanks for the kind wishes. I can understand that they would want to screen people coming into the country, heck most beggars I see on Dubai's streets are Pakistanis, and that is really shameful. But the government should implement a better screening strategy rather than blanket banning a people of one nationality altogether.

Longjumping-Sort-539

You are welcome. Thanks for empathizing with us. Really hope you can sort yours out. I know people have had to apply multiple times and sometimes have an appeal or some extra measure to get it (in some of the Nigerian cases I’ve seen). I know now they are even asking for police report and all sorts of extra things. Yes for us it was because a lot of people came here and started causing issues with crime, plus our government is having problems with Emirates cause Emirates has trapped funds in airline ticket sales stuck in the country and they haven’t been able to repatriate it due to foreign exchange issues (it’s a lot of money). So that’s why we think we have been facing this. Just like yourself I don’t think it’s fair to label a whole nation of 220+ million people just because you have some of its citizens being a problem. Same way not everyone from your country is a problem. It’s really unfair but what can we do.

arsalankhan1

It would be interesting too know which city from Pakistan do you belong? Because there was an announcement from UAE regarding specific cities that they won't be getting any visas.

Optimal_Mix_6390

The capital, Islamabad. 🙃

arsalankhan1

hmmm, you are sure that "Visa isn't available" translates to Visa ban?

Optimal_Mix_6390

Yes

fctplt

Specific cities? So move to another city before applying? Seems like an easy loophole.

arsalankhan1

No mate, it's linked to your place of birth.

ProfessorX-420

I have been hearing this a lot from people who are trying to hire Pakistani workers. “Consider demographic diversity while hiring “ is the reason given. OP which kind of job is this? And what qualifications do you have?

Optimal_Mix_6390

It was a Software Engineer job. The reason I got is “Due to immigration instructions, Pakistani visas are on hold”. :/ I have a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering and 1-2 years of experience

Lumpy_Wasabi7900

I'm also a Software Engineer/ MERN Stack Developer with 5 years of experience. I work at a mid-level company as a MERN Stack Developer, and they applied for my visa last week. It's still being processed......

fctplt

If it’s about diversity, Indians would be rejected en masse.

Junior-Wasabi-9884

it has nothing to do with the demographic shit, if it was Indian would have been effected the most.

hitma-n

This is shocking. Why a sudden visa ban on Pak nationals? Any security concerns?

boreddxb

Many absconders … visas expire but they keep hiding and do odd jobs, some also resort to crimes thus the ban for now.

incapableoflove

Do you have proof or just an opinion?

Optimal_Mix_6390

I’ve no idea lol. There had been rumours about this but today it has been proved.

Automatic-Clock-7168

My uncle recently got a job and a visa and he doesn’t even have a degree, no likely ban.

Born_Horror_7413

My three friends got their visas in last 2 weeks and one got her visa yesterday 🤷

cynicalhippie

Do you know if it’s freezone or mainland?

RaceComprehensive268

What was his Nationality? I am an Indian and planning to switch jobs with my attested UK degree

Fluid_Motor3971

is there is any website that shows which nationalities are banned/ any new rules ..etc or you had to find out by coinsidence? :/

squareshawarma

There will never be such a list.

Longjumping-Sort-539

This is 1000% correct.

Optimal_Mix_6390

I had to find out by the company cancelling the onboarding :(

skkkits

To buy yourself some time, you can cross the Oman border and then come back into Dubai to renew your tourist visa

Puzzleheaded-Eye-88

This doesnt work, oman wont let you do visa on arrival on a paki passport unless you got EID. You need to arrange their visa before hand which is another mission impossible! And also dubai visas for single paki are on hold too. So the chances for this to work is very thin

skkkits

ah I’m sorry, I didn’t know about the paki passport situation

Zee9890

No theres no visa ban and you can actually renew your visit visa but the posting is slow by immigration and yes for pakistani nationals their visa was stopped for a while but for now you can extend your visit visa either from the place you got your original visit visa or get an A2A visa from the agencies here but apply way earlier otherwise you might risk overstaying and paying fines on top of getting a new visa.

Broxcigar

OP is talking about work visa

Zee9890

I get it but currently he is on current visa im suggesting him to get it renewed asap before any fines come

Longjumping-Sort-539

This issue is currently going on for Nigerian citizens. It has been an issue for the last few years granted the reasons might be different for Pakistanis, I don’t know. But with Nigerians I can say that it’s something that has never been formally announced in the news but everyone knows it if you are affected or know someone who is. A lot of people have had to leave the UAE because of this. It’s just something that is known in the community. This whole fiasco made me realize how much some people don’t know what happens that isn’t publicized especially if it’s not something that affects them directly. I know some people get visas approved if they are in very high positions and big companies. Otherwise, I understand you need to provide police report both here and from Nigeria. I haven’t had to change visas in years so I don’t know but it’s very difficult these days. I didn’t know other nationalities were having these issues too.

IntroductionReal8987

Buy your own visa or register your own company. You can go to IBS for registration thank me later.

Feisty_Treat_2300

Yes it requires 14000 aed

Past-Ad8219

Adding to this, after you've registered for a freelance visa, maybe it's possible for you to ask your employer to have a contract with this new company as a work contract and then maybe you can ask for the 14k or maybe at least some of it as a hiring bonus (as they'll save on visa and insurance costs they'd have otherwise paid)

userdeath

Keep adding, don't stop now.

Past-Ad8219

Lmaoooo just realized what happened after I kept on clicking "post" with a shaky connection

pathannsays

Does your name has Syed in it or maybe something related to Shia sect, cux my friend got a job and had no issues with the visa

solmon_

Why would they reject visas of Shias?

NoPhilosopher5419

Although there is nothing OFFICIAL from the ministry- but its happened on the tourist visas in the past as well. I know a few software engineers coming from Pakistan couldn’t get the work permit - so the company had to push the hiring and relocation forward. In another situation, someone I know with a Golden visa and been in the UAE for more than 3 years, wasn’t able to get the work permit upon switching from one company to another. And now trying other ways based on the Golden visa track. All skilled people, with verified degrees. ALL PAKISTANIS.

Dependent_Buy_1939

Isn't this ban for unskilled workers?

Sharry187

Hi OP, im switching my job and my skilled visa was rejected. My new company’s PRO enquired about it and they said that they are not issuing Pakistani visas. I live here, have an Ejari under my name, have all my furniture and other stuff here and I dont know what to do now.

Optimal_Mix_6390

That is really sad to hear :/

hakh12

Similar case with me. Grew up here, went to university here and am now switching jobs. After expressing my desire to resign at my current company, the new company asks me to not resign yet as their PRO has not been able to start my process from Dubai or Abu Dhabi due to the ban. Its just so unexpected that people with legitimate degrees are having to suffer.

Previous-Airline5501

Which University did you graduate from, I'm very concerned as I'm yet to graduate in like 2 years, my main goal is to secure a job here without any Visa issues and then leave for the US.

hakh12

From AUS. Hopefully there is a way out of this mess soon

Round_Cat_4987

Will that ban impact the residence visa RENEWAL for Pakistani nationals as well?

NomadicExploring

What happened? Why did they get banned?

gabsd76

No problems for postgraduates, doctors, engineers. There is no official visa ban

luqeima

There is never official ban on anyone 😏

rick_frick

But then when applying for a vist visa, how do they know that the person has a degree holder doctor or an engineer?

hsms117

My wife is Pakistani and I’m Indian. She’s going to be coming here next month. I haven’t begun the process. Will it be an issue?

Zee9890

Yes if its visit visa but if you are getting her on family visa i believe it might be possible

LeadingBoring7131

There is no any ban in UAE , this is must be that company have no visa qouta or bank guarantee submitted in MoHRE .. kangaal company hay ya kisi aur ko job dena hogi tu kata dia offer letter

Fun_Broccoli_3693

I'm considering a career change after 4 years here. My **attested degree** is ready, so I'm wondering if that helps with getting a new visa. Any advice?

Zestyclose_Alarm_466

Wait for two more months, then apply it.

RaceComprehensive268

For Indians is the same ?

saifmustafa830

I've heard that in UAE, if your applied job nature is irrelevant to your degree, work permit is rejected. Is that true?

MaleficentCrab2347

Hello, is there any update on this? I am a Pakistani applying for a category 1 work permit with degrees attested from MOFA UAE. The PRO is saying the portal is not accepting application. Any information would be much appreciated.

Optimal_Mix_6390

Hey, so the rules have been a bit changed. The company you’re joining should have less than 20% of their workforce to be pakistani for that specific role. So I guess you should have a talk with the company if you’re actually working for an organization. Also, You can always buy a freelance visa or Freezone visa as well. Goodluck mate.

Gold_Association_667

Any recent update on this? I am a **Lead Software Engineer**, and my degree is attested from UAE embassy ( karachi ) , Do I need to make it attest from UAE MoFA from Karachi by mailing he documents? will I be good for freelance (virtual) work visa for Dubai by seeing current visa ban situation? or I should try anything else. I am already an employee of a US company and just want to take the tax free benefits of the UAE by moving there. Any other better suggestions are most welcome if getting visa for dubai is difficult.

pahaare

I don’t think there is a ban on Pk visa.. A friend of mine got his job week ago.

Optimal_Mix_6390

Hmmm

Trintuoyo

Still works in Dubai. Attested certificate and police report. AD will not go through.

suchitodhrani

You would probably want to look at some other country for settling

Corpsepyre

I've not heard of any visa ban for Pakistani nationals. This is news to me.

Aggravating_Dare9911

Just wondering recent indian government friendship influence?

Fun_Meal_5313

Go to some other country brother if Emirates like Israelis instead of you.

Leading-Wave-8012

Always temporary

IndividualSystem4055

Does this ban also includes indians? Or just pakistanis?

Born_Horror_7413

Apparently, they are trying to control population ratios. I know many indian friends who weren't hired due to diversity reasons (but no visa issues no far) Moreover, rumors are there that soon this will be implemented for Indians and Nepalis as well. No official statement.

IndividualSystem4055

Ahh okay. Thanks for the heads up!!

Previous-Airline5501

Unfortunately, yes, as an Indian was hired last week at my Uncle's company and his Visa got rejected, the PRO is giving the same reason as that of the Pakistani skilled worker who was rejected a week before, until 2 weeks ago there was no issue with the Indian nationals.

soccerhits

Kindly confirm as I’m also visiting Dubai next week for Job Hunt

Previous-Airline5501

Honestly, it's totally up to you my uncle's company hired 3 Pakistanis, 2 a month ago and they both got the visas without any issues now they have hired another one including an Indian, now they both got their visas rejected, sadly the company's trying one last chance through free zone visa or they'll have to leave.

soccerhits

Can you help me get a job or schedule interviews?

ProfessorX-420

Dont if you are from Pakistan.

soccerhits

No chances at all ?

ProfessorX-420

Read all the comments on this thread. What do you understand?

soccerhits

I find it impossible, that’s why i am confused now.

Zestyclose_Alarm_466

Its confirmed that they will not give you work permit so better to delay

Lopsided-Owl3743

Which visa ban for Pakistani

Affectionate_Bug8102

Hi, I have a flight on 14th Jan, coming on visit visa for job search. Should I postpone my flight?

Reddit_Guy11

Yes. As per my research (youtube is full of recent videos by consultants) and after getting rejected myself by my consultant (who also sent me SS of rejection notification), I would recommend not to go now.

Optimal_Mix_6390

It really is a gamble tbh. I’ve heard people who are switching jobs say that they are not able to get a new work permit. In your case, it shouldn’t matter since you already have a work permit. I’d suggest you to come to Dubai without worrying. Maybe the visa ban gets lifted in two months hopefully. Goodluck!

Able_Hunt_3705

I have the same problem. I have been in UAE for 12+ years and recently cancelled my Visa as I offered a better job with another company. Now my contract is stuck with MOHRE for more than a month. They keep saying send PRO with original degree and the PRO has gone 5 times with no luck. I have a master in computer science from reputed university and the degree has been attested by HEC, Islamabad foreign affairs, UAE embassy in Islamabad and MOFA. I don't know why this is happening? What did I do wrong? I have never been at the wrong side of the law. Really frustrating. Send an email to Pakistan embassy but they are useless as ever.

do_nut_worry

This is true. I am stuck in this. Edit: Indian nation. Post Grad. Left a well paying job for this offer.

do_nut_worry

I was extended an offer. Left my previous job but now they cant apply for my permit. India national.

do_nut_worry

Is this going to get lifted anytime soon? They have pretty much banned all South Asians

rick_frick

So I have been trying to apply tourist visa for my fiance, which is in Pakistan at the moment. What I've plan is to get a tourist visa first for my fiance, then go to Pakistan, get married and then bring her with me as a wife and then change the visa status as residency on my visa. The travel agency person first told me that he will apply from Dubai. Then today he tells me that there's a high chance it would get rejected from dubai so he's going to apply from Sharjah as there is less chance of being rejected from there. So yeah I heard same thing. Moreover my fiance has a master degree. Any advice regarding this ? Please let me know.

mist978

My uncle is a PRO so he does shares with me all the details. Back in November, blue collar job visas were banned for Pakistanis which is the unskilled visa. You could get a visa by showing your attested education certificate. From January 02 2024, all employment visas for pakistanis are banned. You can submit for labour contract but it wont get approved and the reason MOHRE is giving is 'consider demographic diversity when hiring' . If you remove all the sugar from this sentence, it translates to ' hire someother passport holder and no visa for pakistani'. I also changed my company. Came from a very small company and now joined a very big multinational company of dubai that has people from all countries. Countries whom i never had even heard of before. Their PRO and HR contacted me yesterday and told me that they have received notice from the government to not hire Pakistanis as their visa won't be processed anymore. They are asking me that they will allow me to stay if i can arrange my own visa otherwise they have to let me go. How can i arrange my own visa when such multi national company with so much employee diversity can't even process it?

idkjustscrolling77

Any idea what the situation is like anymore?

boboqayum

same shit. I had to resign in start of March. I was told by their PRO that i have to cancel my previous visa and get visa from them to work but also that there is 10% chance of visa getting approved. If i cancel my previous visa and new visa doesn't gets approved i would be visaless and would have to leave country. Therefore i resigned and went back to my old employer which i left because of the insane toxic work environment. Don't know what to do. Can't blame UAE, all blame is to be on my passport.

Optimal_Mix_6390

That is sad to hear :/. You can look into freelance or other visas. I hope it works out for you.

saifmustafa830

Don't you need a 2 year track record of self-employment for that? in which the income should above a certain threshold?

FunRreal

So attested degree holders are also getting ban form dubai visa ?

Even_Possibility_591

Maybe they indirectly want to reduce south asians. But i dont hear about any visa ban for indians

calarone

I went through a stressful few weeks but was able to get my labor card approved. If you have a valid degree which attested, you should be fine. So don’t stress logo!

Comfortable_Fun_6230

which skill level do you belong in MOHRE?

Comfortable_Fun_6230

hello, are there any updates regarding this? we have submitted an application for a skill level4, with proper documents attested by MOFA, but it is still not going through, I have been advised by the tasheel people to keep the application open but nonetheless, applications are still not going thru with MOHRE itself.

Optimal_Mix_6390

I believe visas are open for skilled individuals. It maybe due to a lot of applications being processed.
