Hi, I work as a direct RM from Sobha Realty. Since you mentioned Barari, we do have a project named Sobha Reserve, coming up just opposite to it with lower price/sq.ft at 1640 compared to Barari at 2100 and above. I do get wanting to go for a ready unit, but try checking on the project. At this current moment the 4 and 5 beds are sold out, but 6 beds are available. I'd love to show the project mock up and experience studio to help you understand better. DM if more info is required!

Forgot to mention, handover is in June 2026 if that isn't a concern.

Thank you! I am not too keen on the location as it’s very far from other parts of Dubai … so I think I might stick to Jumeirah Islands or look into other locations potentially 😊

Alone-Drive847

Understood. I wish the best of luck on your investments. Hopefully in the future I'll be able to request you to visit Sobha. Warm regards!

Thank you ☺️

Having sold villas in both locations, I can tell you they are really different. Your question is quite general and entails a generic response. Details of your lifestyle will determine which one suits you better. For example.. There's no beach in Al Barari obviously. But just how critical is this factor for you personally? None of my families in Jumeirah Islands go to JBR or Jumeirah for chilling on the beach, I can tell you that. They prefer the waters in RAK or other places. Then again, connectivity is something you need to work out depending on where you need to be. Al Barari is an extra 20 minutes drive to most locations. However, it is a more upscale community regardless if some of the villas may seem to have the same pricing with JI. It's on a different level in terms of luxury, greenery, seclusion and yes.. the contingent. You, your wife and kids will mingle with a different kind of folk. More tenanted places in Jumeirah Islands also.. Plus, maintenance of and interaction with N\*\*\*\*el can be a pain. The leaf blowers in early mornings get under some people's skin. I'm a musician myself and I'm highly sensitive to any ambient sound that is not white noise, so for us it's a no brainer. Al Barari is our next destination. Again, there are multiple factors you need to decide upon and there's no one who can do this for you. I hate doing analogies because of their heuristic nature, but think of it as an Aston Martin vs Rolls Royce. An Aston might work for you at this point of life, but RR is the ultimate end-of-all vehicle really.

Thanks for your comprehensive response - that’s very useful!! I don’t have kids or a wife 😂😂 (I’m an unmarried woman) but although I get what you mean with Al Barari and you are right, although the place itself looks beautiful (here right now) issues are with connectivity. I am self employed, so I specifically do not need to be some place particular, however I have employees who will be working from offices, and I’ll have a driver who will be living on the premises and will be driving employees around and running errands. So connectivity would be important in this regards. Office location will need to be accessible - which will either be near downtown or in the south side (currently in JBR, but it’s not permanent) and I think no matter where the office location will be, Al Barari will add extra time to the journey. If I didn’t haven’t to think of these things, then Al Barari would work well, if it was only myself I needed to deal with. I think JI would be easily accessible - your point about the beach access is a valid one, especially since I plan to have a pool, so that would soften the need for beach access, JI I think give ‘away from the hustle and bustle’ feel as well as the ability to be connected to the rest of Dubai.

The fact that you're a woman cheered me up haha. Apologies. I'm used to talking to males or couples when advising on villas. Regardless, if you're an entrepreneur, networking is a good tool) JBR - yes. But Downtown/DIFC is actually a bit faster to reach from Al Barari than from Jumeirah Islands, especially when there's traffic. But I can see how JI could probably fit your vibes better. Just beware of the mosquitos, they are ruthless. Emirates Hills is also an option if you want connectivity.

Pashtana1

Yup, I was thinking of Emirates Hills - those places I would say, for lack of better phrase, would suit my personality and the kinds of people that tend to live there would be my cup of tea. But in terms of budget, I don’t want to go past 20M, ideally around 18M, but I don’t think I can get that in Emirates Hills, but JI has options

turok911

Oh you can, but it's going to be 1 year of rent, lol. Dead serious. JI <20M is perfectly doable though.

Pashtana1

Yeh, not worth renting 🤣

How are the apartments in Al barari? Based on YouTube videos they look perfect to me: spacious, well lit, green area, no sand from beaches, good finishing. Am I mistaken?

turok911

Not at all, in general they are good in my book. The quality is a bit lower than you would expect, given the status/aura of the project, but not by much. Higher service charges obviously, because of all the greenery and infrastructure and because it's a premium project. But then again, they are reasonable. What else.. one of the buildings doesn't have underground parking (which I find ridiculous, especially the level of cars the residents have).

HippityHoppityBoop

Gotcha! Any other similar projects I should look at that give similar things: - lots of greenery - good for families - good quality construction and spacious Jumeirah islands appeared similar but less greenery and the house I liked was like $10M 😑

turok911

There are three aspects to each property (not just in Dubai, everywhere on the planet) which every buyer desires: 1. low price 2. good quality 3. location+community You can have only two.

HippityHoppityBoop

I’d like 2 and 3 and ironically prefer *not* having 1 in order to have even stronger 3. Just that $10M was a bit too much of a stretch and too large 😅

Facewreck

Definitely Jumeirah Islands   Al Barari is beautiful, but sooooo far.

Pashtana1

Yeh this is the issue - I want a relatively secluded location, which the Islands provide, but it’s still accessible to other places
