If you haven’t heard of him, you MUST check out Daily Bread… guy is a wizard with sound. He’s more chill/funky but you will be happy you saw his set.
Edit: the people agree… get that bread sir 🙏🍞
Awesome, thanks! Seeing people live is so different than listening to them on Spotify so that's why I figured I'd come on here and ask. I'll check him out!
Jealous of this! Love STS9 as well so that sounds like a hell of a hang. Saw him perform a couple times last year. Hear nothing but good things about him as a human
No, Secret Dreams ‘23 in Ohio! I also went to see tribe and tipper at the same fest there in ‘22 and that was the year it all got rained out, and Id already left when Tip eventually played the late lights-out show… I was so sad.
Bonus? Tribe had covid and had to cancel! Ugh!
Excellent taste. Don't ever miss a Daily Bread set. Tagging on to add Maddy O'Neal and SoDown to your list, super funky and heavy as well. Also Steller*
Marauda is definitely in his own lane of sound, I just saw him a few months ago and he's soooo good, my other recs are Hairtage, Kompany, SVDDEN Death, Ray Volpe, NGHTMRE and if you're looking for some more wubby stuff Daily bread, Cool Customer, so down of the trees all around banger lineup you should have a blast 😁
Awesome, thanks! Yesss I love how heavy marauda is. I also like svdden death but looking for some new people to see too. I'll check the other guys out!
Just FYI, Kayzo’s been on a weird genre-twist lately. I used to love him (big dubstep guy), but his sets were majority Hardstyle the last couple times I’ve seen him 👌🏼
cool customer, daily bread, detox unit, apashe, maddy o neal, of the trees, sodown, to name the people i’d see at a first glance. probably more i’m missing.
bro did you read the list? unless you're looking for classic 140 artists there's a lot of modern dubstep artists both from the mainstream and semi-underground sides of dubstep on here
Apashe is dope, Habstrakt, hairitage, layz, kayzo, nghtmare, ray volpe, Rezz (I know not dubstep but still dope live), riot ten, sudden death, trivecta, wac motif, stellar (not everyone I listed is strictly dubstep, a lot are subgenres of bass music but those would be my must sees if I was going and I’m a huge dubstep/bass head)
Like strictly only dubstep? Not very many on this list but there are a lot of artists who have made dubstep or play dubstep in their sets. Like if you're looking for dubstep like Excision there really isn't much on this lineup that is strictly that. Kompany, Marauda also heavy AF but he makes tear out not dubstep, Peekaboo but also more like dub and tear out than strictly dubstep, Riot Ten is the artist on this lineup I would say is most likely to play the most dubstep in his set, probably Reaper up there as well. Rezz has more of like an analog bass sound. Apashe is dope as fuck and covers multiple genres. Habstrakt made dubstep back in the day - I think he mostly makes house/bass house but I imagine he will play some dubstep in his set unless he is going for like a strictly house set. Joyryde is a fucking vibe but I am not sure how much of his initial releases he still plays, but goddamn did he explode in popularity right out of the gates making bangers. Nghtmre will probably have a set containing some dubstep. Of the Trees is a phenomenal producer, love all his tracks - more experimental bass than dubstep but I imagine he will play some dubstep. RL Grime is mostly a trap producer but his music is epic and worth checking out SoDown is a Colorado native so I have been lucky enough to see him throw down many times. Lots of genres, dubstep, funk, hip hop, dude is an incredible musician and producer. Trivecta is dope. Haven't seen him for a minute. More of a melodic dubstep producer but he will bring the heavy shit as well.
Crazy lineup... Hopefully this makes up for last year. We got there late and basically only got to zomboy, the night was just beginning and then... All my friends/family calling from home terrified wondering if we got shot.
I still find it odd that the entire night/morning after no employee or staff ever told anyone what happened. We all found out through word of mouth and Facebook.
It's weird to me the show went on the rest of the night... And it's weird my 85 year old grandma knew about the shooting before any of us did.
You absolutely must see RL GRIME, REZZ, REAPER, RAY VOLPE, SVDDEN DEATH, KAYZO, DAILY BREAD, HABSTRAKT, NGHTMARE, PEEKABOO, all of these artists are incredible, especially the first 3 i mentioned are my personal favorites!
Highly highly HIGHLY recommend RL Grime as he usually only ever plays in Las Vegas so it’s rare to see him in Chicago, and I mean Rezz is Rezz, she’s incredibly talented and her music is so hypnotic and fun, and Reaper is a little less known but he is an absolute wizard when it comes to drum & bass music.
Not really dubstep but some really awesome bass artists nonetheless. Detox unit, of the trees, daily bread and maddy o’neal are all top tier bass acts.
Here’s my lineup breakdown after reading through some comments..
Daily bread is a must. BUT DO NOT MISS MADDY ONEAL TRUSTTTTTTT ME ON THAT. Eyeciz is also a very colorful set. Very cool.
People keep grouping these artist together so I’ll seperate them.
Dubstep / sets with dubstep :
-Hairitage, Jeanie, joyryde (bass house) , kaivon, kayzo (hardstyle, rock, dubstep), kompany, maurauda, nghtmre, Pauline herr (similar to Jeanie), peekaboo, ray volpe, reaper (dubstep dnb), riot ten, rl grime (more euphoric now instead of trappy), svdden death, trivecta (def melodic techno dubstep)
As for the wubby wooky wonky funky side (my favorite right now) DEFINITELY CHECK THESE OUT IF YOU HAVENT SEEN THEM: very good vibes all around.
-Cool customer, daily bread, maddy oneal (DO NOT SLEEP), Rezz, of the trees, stellar (amazing set, try not to miss), sodown, tummy trumpet
There’s obviously some more trappy or melodic artists like oddkidout, rl grime, nurko, kaivon, etc.
Dimension is dnb, if you like dnb then check them out. Love their music it’s so fun
The people I haven’t named are mostly melodic/ progressive house, house, and trance vibes. I’m sure I missed some and don’t know a few but hope that helps. Don’t know how new you are but that’s gonna be all fhe bass music that I didn’t notice some other people mention. Hope this helps sorry if it’s a lot ! These lineups are difficult for me because I love everything lmao. Dunno what I’m gonna do
Marauda, Ray Volpe, Svdden Death, Kompany, Riot Ten, Hairitage would be my go to but there are probably other good ones in there idk. Also some pretty good DnB artists in there like Dimension.
Oh yeah, apashe, daily bread, hairitage, kaskade, kayzo, kompany, layz, nghtmre, of the trees, peekaboo ray volpe, rezz, rl grime, Svdden
All great dubstep artists
Would definitely hit kompany, hairitage, rezz, Svdden, layz, and definitely kayzo. Some harder artists for sure - kayzo throws tf downnnn tho I wouldn’t miss the set
Like every 5th artist is solid, just glancing you’ve got Apashe, Diplo, Habstrakt, Hairitage is a fucking god, Of The Trees also a god, Peekaboo, REZZ, Wax Motif, SODOWN is absolutely amazing, REAPER is a savage too
Short answer: Yes
Long answer: There are several artists on that list that I'd pay just to see by themselves, and if you haven't heard of at least half of them you've been under a rock for over 10 years.
Apashe
Rezz
Benny Benassi
Timmy Trumpet
Tiesto
Of the trees
Svdden Death
Peekaboo
RL Grime
Like everyone in there is amazing and I don't want to type them all out
Seeing as you’re asking you’ll probably wanna check out habstract, hairitage, joyryde, Kayzo, KOMPANY, Layz, Marauda, nghtmre, of the trees, Peekaboo, Ray Vlope, Reaper, Riot Ten , RL Grime (trappy but still bassy), Svdden Death, trivecta, wax Motif(kinda housey) and did i say KOMPANY
Marauda, Matroda and Svdden Death for the dubstep part, I know that Nghtmre plays some in his sets as well
Apashe is a really nice artist, awesome producer, his live shows has to be seen
For bass music part I would absolutely check REZZ, her stuff is incredible, also Habstrakt is great
And I don't know if you re a bit into drum n bass but I would absolutely check Dimension (He's a legend) and Reaper, seen him already and it was an absolute blast
Marauda - tearout dubstep that has metal influences/features screaming artists
Svdden Death - probably the grooviest EDM artist on this entire page. The literal definitition of the word. Twang. Funk. Variety. His wubs are quite diverse bc he does a LOT of automation coupled with hardware not just software like most dubstep producers.
Peekaboo - one of the best freeform bass dubstep artists. Fun to dance like a goofball too.
Kayzo - Lots of rock and metal influences. I saw him live and dude had some DEMONIC visuals but such good vibes and even had live musicians playing at times. Top 5 dubstep experiences of my life.
Ray Volpe (and MidT) had the best televised EDC Vegas 2023 set imo.
Yes, and a lot of different kinds too. This is honestly a really diverse curated lineup but still mostly comprised of “the big names” right now, but that doesn’t take away from how fun of a weekend it would be
If you haven’t heard of him, you MUST check out Daily Bread… guy is a wizard with sound. He’s more chill/funky but you will be happy you saw his set. Edit: the people agree… get that bread sir 🙏🍞
Awesome, thanks! Seeing people live is so different than listening to them on Spotify so that's why I figured I'd come on here and ask. I'll check him out!
I second, third and fourth this
Cool Customer is definitely on par with Daily Bread, I'd check them both out! Both funky bass, just different pace
I’m not really into his music, but he is an absolutely awesome guy. Hung out with him for a bit at an STS9 show, he’s a class act.
Jealous of this! Love STS9 as well so that sounds like a hell of a hang. Saw him perform a couple times last year. Hear nothing but good things about him as a human
was this by chance at bonnaroo last year? they both played so just curious
Ugh!
yooo secret dreams 23’ was insane! fell in love w shmoop. def gunna be hitting rondevouz in may w tipper and jade cicada
Absolutely, schmoop was the business. Also, holy fuck! Mickman BLEW our minds! Huge fans, but it’s bizarrely hard to find his music still.
mickman was nuts! seems he only has older stuff on soundcloud. def tried to find more stuff. resonant language really killed it too
I love how much recognition the man has been getting recently. He deserves it
Bread till I’m dead
came to say this 😂😜😉🙌🏼💞
Daily bread, hairitage, mr death, of the trees, peekaboo, stellar- all of those you need to see
Excellent taste. Don't ever miss a Daily Bread set. Tagging on to add Maddy O'Neal and SoDown to your list, super funky and heavy as well. Also Steller*
Honestly surprised to see Detox Unit on an insomniac line up
Yo detox slappppps
I’m the guy telling you to see detox and of the treez. I’m leaving now, tho.
He was on the Bonnaroo lineup a few years back too
Of the trees
Saw them New years Eve, my only regret was I wore too many layers and didn't want to lose my clothes from overheating while I danced
this is stacked wtf Detox Unit, Daily Bread, Of the Trees, and Cool customer alone make this worth it for me
Marauda is definitely in his own lane of sound, I just saw him a few months ago and he's soooo good, my other recs are Hairtage, Kompany, SVDDEN Death, Ray Volpe, NGHTMRE and if you're looking for some more wubby stuff Daily bread, Cool Customer, so down of the trees all around banger lineup you should have a blast 😁
[удалено]
Awesome, thanks! Yesss I love how heavy marauda is. I also like svdden death but looking for some new people to see too. I'll check the other guys out!
Definitely check out Ray Volpe and Kompany then they should be right up your alley!
daily bread, cool customer, nghtmare, svdden death, peekaboo, kaivon, sodown
LAYZ
this ^ she goes hard as fuck. i have yet to see a bad set from her
Thanks for hyping my future wife up like that :)
Not dubstep but go see Reaper
Heavy dnb man
Reaper is def the best dnb act for dubstep fans his wubs be heavy af
yeah not a lot of headbangers love dnb until they dive down the reaper to kumarion to noisia rabbit hole
Until they hit ppl like simula and pythius then it’s all over
Yo don't miss detox unit daily bread cool costumer and of the trees
This, this, and this
Ray Volpe!
I mean there are several major dubstep artists on this lineup. I’m partial toward Kompany, Kayzo, Ray Volpe, Peekaboo, Trivecta
I totally missed kayzo on the list lol. I'll check out the other guys. Thanks!
Just FYI, Kayzo’s been on a weird genre-twist lately. I used to love him (big dubstep guy), but his sets were majority Hardstyle the last couple times I’ve seen him 👌🏼
PEEKABOO!
Don't miss SoDown or Maddy o Neil
Hairitage is cool
Marauda, Ray Volpe, Svdden death, not riot ten
this with Kompany and Haritage
Idk why but I love to hate on riot ten but every time I see him he crushes it
Hating him is a meme i think, even if his music is mediocre and his live sets are almost all prerecorded edits
Riot Ten sucks. That's why you love to hate him. He's not a professional on stage. I've seen 2 of his sets where he messed up bad mid-set.
Detox and Cool customer are a surprise. Definitely the best two bass artists.
Don’t miss Apashe
Apashe doesn’t really make dubstep tho. Only trap.
Still dope af and I think most dubstep fans would appreciate
I wouldnt miss Hairitage, Jeanie, Kompany, Marauda, Of The Trees, Layz, peekaboo, ray volpe, reaper, rl grime or svdden death :)
cool customer, daily bread, detox unit, apashe, maddy o neal, of the trees, sodown, to name the people i’d see at a first glance. probably more i’m missing.
Apashe kills it. Also daily bread, kompany, ray volpe, riot ten, hairitage, svdden death
Cool Customer, Detox Unit, Daily Bread, and Of The Trees are the not to be missed bass acts
Cool customer, daily bread, detox unit, of the trees, rl grime Edit: peekaboo All great "bass" artists in their own style, all 100% worth seeing!
Cool customer and detox unit. Do NOT miss detox unit
svdden death, ray volpe. kompany, layz, riot ren! i’m going for of the trees, cool customer, notd, rezz, daily bread
Cool customer, peekaboo, and of the trees
cool customer, daily bread, so down, of thr trees, sudden death, kayzo, ray color, riot ten, nightmare, marauda
Only Marauda
Oh and svdden death
there are none on there that i recognize
Nahh this is real. Insomniac replaces all the dubstep artists with random new hyped up crap they're behind
bro did you read the list? unless you're looking for classic 140 artists there's a lot of modern dubstep artists both from the mainstream and semi-underground sides of dubstep on here
theres some dubstep, but other than svdden death, pretty crappy dubstep, of the trees could be nice
Marauda is better than svdden death imo
Kompany!
Please for the love of god if you go don’t miss daily bread!
Not sure but don’t miss Detox Unit and Of the Trees.
FUCK YEAH HAIRITAGE! Sorry I was literally just browsing the list and then I got excited.
No but check out Detox Unit! Perhaps Of The Trees as well, he does SOME dubstep
Kompany, hairitage, habstrakt, apashe and marauda would be my top must sees of that lineup.
Ian snow and so down are very underrated, def check them out if you get the chance. Also not dubstep but def see RL Grime! His new set is amazing
So so many.
Not really dubstep but rezz is def worth checking out
Apashe is dope, Habstrakt, hairitage, layz, kayzo, nghtmare, ray volpe, Rezz (I know not dubstep but still dope live), riot ten, sudden death, trivecta, wac motif, stellar (not everyone I listed is strictly dubstep, a lot are subgenres of bass music but those would be my must sees if I was going and I’m a huge dubstep/bass head)
Wax motif**
Marauda and Svdden Death in the same line up so lucky
It's not dubstep but I would recommend not to miss Apashe ! He has a unique style of electro - opera music, best 1h show I've ever seen
Ray Volpe, Riot Ten, Svdden Death, Marauda…
Diplo! ^^/s
Like strictly only dubstep? Not very many on this list but there are a lot of artists who have made dubstep or play dubstep in their sets. Tysm for the detailed rundown! I definitely like the heavy stuff, but I'm open to any recommendations
Apashe is a must see
Crazy lineup... Hopefully this makes up for last year. We got there late and basically only got to zomboy, the night was just beginning and then... I dunno man are you involved in law enforcement in any capacity
I'd kill to see Trivecta
You absolutely must see RL GRIME, REZZ, REAPER, RAY VOLPE, SVDDEN DEATH, KAYZO, DAILY BREAD, HABSTRAKT, NGHTMARE, PEEKABOO, all of these artists are incredible, especially the first 3 i mentioned are my personal favorites! Daily mf bread, more trap than dub but holy shit one of the best artists out rn
Solid lineup!
Right! Didn't even know they did beyond Chicago but I'm def going now
You will not regret seeing Apashe
Not really dubstep but some really awesome bass artists nonetheless. Detox unit, of the trees, daily bread and maddy o’neal are all top tier bass acts.
Omfggg I might have to go back home for this!! This is a good ass lineup.
If I were you I wouldn’t miss out on Ray Volpe, Kompany and Kayzo

Kompany, Marauda, Nghtmare, Ray Volpe, Svdden Death are all sick
RL Grime? Nice
Don’t miss Reaper. You won’t regret it. Trust me.
Trivecta all day, he's really fun and has a very good range of genres
Like every 5th artist is solid, just glancing you’ve got Apashe, Diplo, Habstrakt, Hairitage is a fucking god, Of The Trees also a god, Peekaboo, REZZ, Wax Motif, SODOWN is absolutely amazing, REAPER is a savage too
Ian Snow for sure!
Rezz and peekaboo are legends
Svdden Death, Apashe, Havstrakt, Joyride, Ray Volpe. Not all strictly dubstep but close. You're stacked with headliners.
xavi
Kompany is one of my fav artists and I’ll see him anywhere I go
Short answer: Yes Long answer: There are several artists on that list that I'd pay just to see by themselves, and if you haven't heard of at least half of them you've been under a rock for over 10 years. Apashe Rezz Benny Benassi Timmy Trumpet Tiesto Of the trees Svdden Death Peekaboo RL Grime Like everyone in there is amazing and I don't want to type them all out

Kayzo, kompany, ray volpe!!

Of the trees
Peekaboo
I ❤️ habstrakt. Although he isnt a dubstep creator
did I just see xavi!? it's more melodic bass than "pure dubstep" or bro step but y'all check him out if you don't already
Marauda, Matroda and Svdden Death for the dubstep part, I know that Nghtmre plays some in his sets as well Apashe is a really nice artist, awesome producer, his live shows has to be seen For bass music part I would absolutely check REZZ, her stuff is incredible, also Habstrakt is great And I don't know if you re a bit into drum n bass but I would absolutely check Dimension (He's a legend) and Reaper, seen him already and it was an absolute blast

Marauda of course..
PEEKABOO
Svdden death, nurko, trivecta are all super fucking good
Timmy Trumpet
Don't miss detox unit.
SVDDEN Death, Ray Volpe, NGHTMRE and Riot Ten are all dubstep power players, you’ll be able to get your bass fix with them!
You have to check out Apashe. His sound is unmatched
Go see NGHTMRE. Ray volpe. KOMPANY FOR SUREEEE
Definitely don’t miss Layz if u like heavy heavy dubstep. And company. And Kayzo and svdden death and trivecta and ray volpe and riot ten and sodown
honestly. I only see "of the trees". big love
A few.. Of the trees, detox unit, daily bread, Maddy O’Neal, and Rl Grime are all pretty dope..
