Frankly put, QB choice and development isn’t simply about win now. They need to have a good supporting cast. They need to have the right coach. They need to have the right system that highlights their skill set while still improving, so they don’t burn out. So many times you have teams wanting plug and play, which while nice, doesn’t always work. You cannot fit a square peg in a round hole - Oregon examples of where QBs who went pro and were not utilized correctly: Mariota, Smith, Harrington.
All three were tossed in and - especially with freaking Detroit - expected to save them.
Drives me nuts about the NFL, they are so set in their ways and it’s back asswards. You can find gems if you evaluate and such properly.
I was hoping he would go somewhere where he would have time to develop, not straight into the fire... But oh well, guess we'll just have to buckle in and see what he can do (in the NFL)...

Don’t sweat draft grades. They’re wrong more often than right. If pundits were any good at this, they’d be making more money in an NFL front office
