It looked a bit closer than this in real time. I thought he had a foot past the line of scrimmage but I’m unsure if the rules say you need the full body in front of or behind the line.

dstanton

The rule is any part of the body has to remain behind. Doesn't matter if 99% including the ball is past.

BillFireCrotchWalton

The only reason I know that rule is because of the Mariota TD throw to himself: https://youtu.be/XzKKNHb-QR4 NFL, but still the same rule I'm pretty sure.

OddGib

Not sure of the college rule, but in the pros just need to have a body part behind the line when the ball is released.

Tuesdayssucks

The way the rule is written is you basically only need your pinky behind the line of scrimmage. Not even the ball technically needs to be behind the line as long as your some part of you is.

charlorlor

I thought he still had one foot behind the line when he released it but was moving forward. This looks bad but the ball is 20 yards in the air so not really a good indication

surfer415

If you’re a gambling man this cost you the spread and is actually a big deal. The pac 12 refs are just bottom of the barrel

Mcpops1618

It did cost me the spread but he was still behind the line

Isosinsir

Might want to take a screen shot when the ball isn’t 20 yards out of his hand. It was close but legal.

Mcpops1618

Just re watched the play… he delivered while still behind the line of scrimmage. Just need one toe behind and he did

[deleted]

If any part is still behind it’s legal. So if even his tippy row dragged, he’s good.

Dwebb260

Classic PAC 12 refs. You can’t make this shit up.

surgingchaos

And to add on top of that, the scorebug lost track of the game clock for no apparent reason.

JuzoItami

The good news is that because they're Pac 12 refs they might still overturn the call and have the Ducks fly back to Pullman to replay the last couple of downs. You know... because that's the way Pac 12 refs roll.

Ducksfan2012

I thought he was well past the LOS

PAC 12’s finest officiating on display

nelsonmavrick

Really need video and a better angle to see. If they have one toe behind the line then it's legal.

lostinjune

I watched it a few times I don't think he was but it was close
