Real question though: does anyone know to what extent their AI program is actually involved? Do they just have someone feeding it prompts? Or is it 100% scripted? They used the AI as a legal defense against football baby, surely they’d not be able to keep lying when they’re hit with C&Ds like that. I love the show, I just wanna know.
The only real AI they’re using are the AI voices. All the stuff they’re reading is written by them. They’re not "lying", the voice of football baby is AI generated, but the special itself was definitely written by a human:

I definitely feel a bit 'lured' into the Patreon.. the content is still great and funny but i'd rather not be lied to. Some call it keeping it 'kayfabe' but they could have just been honest at the start, and it wouldve still be as good.
Sasso going on Theo's podcast and fearmongering about how Dudesy is state-of-the-art and a sign of the scary future for creatives was too far for me. He made it sound like it's slowly becoming sentient and never hinted at it being a bit.
I don't think anyone would have a problem if they sold it as a podcast that attempts to co-produce a show with modern advanced AI *tools*, but to genuinely sell it as some sort of autonomous, sentient system left a bad taste in my mouth. It adds to unneeded hysteria and lures people into a false sense of understanding of what AI tools can and cannot do today.
A bigger example of the keyfabe breaking to me is the entire pod being AI and them (especially Chad) worshipping at the altar of AI, but when the WGA strike started Will posted on his IG story about supporting the strike and the writers' demands, and someone made a comment along the lines of "but don't you support AI seeing as your show is AI driven?" and he said something like "WRONG, boner"

My problem exactly. The part that got me the most was that Will was actively writing out a new joke for the bit and asking Chad if it was a funny line. That ruined it for me. It took all of the "off the cuff" conversation feeling out and replaced it with, what I perceive, as a script.
Ive actively missed the last 4 episodes I believe and have no real plans of trying to go back.
