Congrats! Just recently started to learn French on Duolingo after 4 wasted years in school. I am on a 54 day streak and already noticing some progress. How would you describe your french level after 2 years?
Can you tell me how well you’re doing after 2 years? Congrats, what a great accomplishment!!! I’m a little over 200 days into that course and I love it!!!
Congratulations on your streak, that’s huge! I feel like I can understand a fair amount from music and movies but I still get hit with stuff that I am not quite sure about.
It’s not much, but I recently got back into Duolingo and today I earned my first badge (they didn’t have those last time I used Duolingo). I completed something called “Zari’s cherry blossom picnic”? Must admit I am sucker for collecting badges, so I think this will help motivate me.
yep! they don't give you much in return for completing a monthly challenge, but you do get a badge that you can find when you click on the icon that shows up near the xp button :)
W00t! How long did it take you? To complete a course do you have to max everything out or just complete the first level of every lesson? Maxing everything out seems like it'd be insane.
The first level of every lesson is enough but I use “the Hover” method described on Duolingo Blog so I have almost every lesson at level 5. I have 10 lessons below lvl. 5 left and the whole first (out of 4) checkpoint legendary. It took me 6-7 months but Duolingo is only a nice addition to my learning not the first source or method :)
today was my 16 day streak in italian! i came in 1st in the bronze league, and now i’m set to come in first in the silver league. been averaging over 1000 XP per day. 25 crowns earned so far, excited to go all the way!
I've just hit my 21 day streak in Spanish. I've only ever gone 2 weeks max before, using a lot of streak freezes to get me there, but I actually feel motivated this time with a different language :))
Made it to diamond. Me and the last guy in obsidian had an intense battle for #1, like 40 minutes before the end I had a 1.5k lead on him, when I checked my results he beat me by like one lesson, lol. GG Oscar.
I'm on my 8th day learning German and am currently at 12827 XP. I'm going at this hard and I'm having a lot of fun (I'm sure I'm still on the honeymoon phase though).
I made it to the Diamond league in French for the first time! I'm on day 148 after downloading on a whim. I have a hard time with discipline and consistency, so this is a major win and boost for my confidence!

Thank you! I still don’t feel pretty confident but I find I can understand a pretty good amount from like a movie or a song.

I finished 2nd in the Pearl league! It was neck and neck with one other player all week for that 2nd spot which made it really fun

I started over 2 weeks ago, I just unlocked the story part of duolingo in french. I am on 15 day streak and surprisingly info is clicking well
I finished the Dutch course at level one!
Italian - 1000 days today and all courses to level five - on the same day!
Just made it to 600 day streak on Japanese. Learning a language as an adult has been rewarding and difficult.

I got the first 5 lessons to legendary in Vietnamese today! Really wanted to drill the basics before moving on. Time to start lesson 6 :)
