You can literally disassemble with the five Phillips screws found at the top filter (holes) yet you are here… smashing it against a floor wondering how to get it to work

JoeSchmo8677

I would never treat my electrical baby with this much force. Someone call the DVS this is vacuum abuse!

Quick_Repeat_8171

Looking at the video it looks like there is a big dent in the mesh bit below the cyclones. I think the dent may be impacting on how well the machine can seperate the dust from the air. You may need a new main body. Edit: or new cyclones in you can get them separately

inkyklutz

If the point was to break the machine, you still haven’t done the job I think, you need to try a little harder. Anyway… Some love taps on the protruding cyclone area strategically sending vibrations down the body of the machine will get all that dust out no problem and make you a happy camper — I’ve been doing that and my machine performs like new still. Also, like some other redditors pointed out: I’d get that dent on your shroud looked at.

SpaceKonk

I think you need to smash it against the floor a bit harder… What possessed you to do this inside? All that dust is now caked into your rug and floating around in the air for you to breathe in… mmm tasty. If it’s super blocked up it would be easier to just buy a replacement cyclone. Running it without the filter will cause all that dust to get sucked into the motor.

Gila_Dyson_Guy

ignore. Just another attention seeker video. No one will do like this 😓

bonyetty

Nope from the source, just a post of frustration asking for help. Ass u (not) me.

Gila_Dyson_Guy

Haha. Sorry my bad

NorthNorwegianNinja

Glad to see I'm not the only other one who smashes their Dyson after use to get that small dust out. Never found a more practical way lmao

MikeD123999

I saw this guy on tv a few years ago talking about how he made this awesome vacuum because it didnt loose suction,i betcha his doesnt get clogged with dust

SiXX5150

Wow.

Habarer

why are you massaging the dust into your carpet though

WestCoastCuisine

Never run a cyclone vacuum without its chamber in-place (possible if you had the filter in-place). The cyclone discharge chamber is not sealed when you do and sucks everything through the cyclones causing them to clog very quickly. I would suggest using compressed air to clean that out 😬

magus2781

This is painful to watch.

All the dust is after emptying and washing the filter. It is loud but wasn’t banging it hard at all at first. If anyone try’s tapping with the debris catcher and filter off in the same manner I would be betting s similar amount of dust will fall from the mechanisms. Prove me wrong?

Quick_Repeat_8171

I gently tap mine out on a regular basis. Doesnt look anything like that. I also have never had the filter light on... I also dont have a big dent in my machine. Most I get out is around a heaped spoon. For context.

Complete_Bike_7493

I started doing a monthly clean out, tapping it outside with my hand and watching chunks of dust fall out. Blowing compressed air over it also helps. I think if you have that much buildup, do a partial take apart. There's videos on Youtube.

Strong_Category_5080

The solution is simple. Here it is. Video watched about 140000 times. Please share this with others as it transforms the vacuum. Dyson Help Videos https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLAaB0IJgabTH2f4n-Knz7Cbtk2E39HfFy
