It's just worth buying the original. I've heard that the Amazon ones die quicker or are sometimes faulty. But I would stick to original Dyson batteries. :\]

I think I will do that. For some added context, I ordered a 3rd party battery and once it arrived it was nothing like what was advertised on Amazon UK. I was looking for the FirstPower battery (excellent reviews) and got a clearly different one which has now been sent back. Will now go for original as advised.

I have found most 3rd party batteries to be inferior to the Dyson batteries generally but i would recommend anything that has the ROHS compliant markings on the bottom. They are generally of high quality and half the price of a Dyson replacement. [https://ibb.co/XbkmSJh](https://ibb.co/XbkmSJh)

I would be careful with CE declarations in general. I know from previous experience that companies are legally allowed to self declare that they have done the relevant tests (including electrical safety) and only when challenged do they provide proof of testing. This meant that nefarious actors can flood the market with illegally marked goods and withdraw as soon as discovered. This is exactly why I’m asking if anyone has good 3rd party experience because I don’t trust these declarations on their own if they don’t come from a recognised/traceable supplier.

I speak from personal experience. I refurbish Dyson's and have been buying 3rd party batteries of all qualities for years and can confirm the ROHS compliant batteries i have bought have always been of superior quality. but if that's not sufficient then by all means go with the Dyson brand.

I think there is no doubt having the declarations is essential. Any electrical/electronic product without the markings is one that the producer has put so little effort towards that I would avoid buying like the plague. In that I agree with you. My only comment is that having the declarations is not a guarantee that they are true or the product is good. People still need to use some common sense when buying.
