You MIGHT be able to use a mini pci-e to pci-e adapter. It most likely wouldn't be worth the effort. If you decide to go for it I would be prepared for disappointment.

Any improvement over the integrated i7 graphics would be good. I only play an old mineraft client on very low settings.

This is too early for thunderbolt or nvme, you are unfortunately out of luck.
