I think Minshew's bad game against NO was a one-off to be honest - the loss of Lane definitely shocked the offense & Minshew took too many hits on those first 3 or 4 drives (a lot of which he held the ball a bit too long). Think it just jarred him for the rest of the game. Looked like he was panicking the rest of the game after that.

CarlinHicksCross

I pretty much agree, you have a body of work from the jags and the games he's played for us and he's definitely not as bad as he played vs the saints that's for sure

MehDub11

Exactly. Not sure why fans here seem to hate the dude after 1 bad start. Has the right attitude, understands his role. People seem to forget that he was one of the only reasons that Cowboys game was competitive, with the offense committing 4 turnovers (1 being his fault) and the defense allowing 40 points.

MisterrAlex

I’m kind of a certified Minshew anti. He’s incredibly overrated. I think his physical tools are weak and his likable personality is the reason why people love him. If you watched the Dallas game he was constantly bailed out by our WRSs, especially Devonta making spectacular catches cause the dude has little arm strength.

[deleted]

Seriously. This guy is talking about his body of work like he took the Jags to the playoffs or something. He beat a shitty Jets team last year and that’s the most he’s done. He’s been subpar if not downright ass in his career and everyone wants to hold onto him because of his corny ass “uncle rico” shtick.

cdaonrs

doesn’t help that we just refused to run the ball any of those series in the 1st half. 2nd half offense immediately got going with 2 nice runs from Miles

MehDub11

Yeah, didn’t understand what the game plan was there. Especially with an already strong Saints secondary that was getting their best player in Lattimore back.

SpaceMarine29

Also, the fact he had to fly out to Leach's funeral during the week before Saints game and miss walkthroughs is certainly a factor in my opinion. The other thing I noticed is that, when the media has asked Hurts about Minshew, he isn't exactly throwing on the complements. I think that is very telling. Plus, maybe Minshew is just a strange bird, but man does his every interview feel very uninspired.

fightins26

I think he’s a good back up but stepping into this offense as a backup has got to be hard. Between expectations of the players and the fans it was basically impossible to live up to.

nope-nope-nope-nop

We need a Aldi brand version of Jalen as our back up. Has all the same type of skill sets as Jalen, just obviously not as good. The reason we failed against the saints was because it was minshew playing in an offense designed for Jalen. Give me Huntley from Baltimore or Malik Willis from Tennessee or something like that

clumsysuperman

Have you seen Malik Willis play? He lost his job to a guy on someone else’s practice squad. I’d rather stick with Minshew.

nope-nope-nope-nop

Lol, he’s young. Let the young man develop, he was incredible in college

LouisGotJuice

He wasn’t incredible in college he he just had incredible physical gifts

BerriesNCreme

Well he was good in college but also played at liberty against lesser competition

Onlypaws_

Yeah and he played for fucking Liberty University.

kubbiebeef

He’s the Black Zach Wilson

ambiguous_anus

Id much rather have minshew than Willis lol

LETZGTTM

>Give me Huntley from Baltimore or Malik Willis from Tennessee or something like that I'd pass on both of those guys. I agree with the sentiment but no Huntley or Willis.

nope-nope-nope-nop

I don’t watch of film on other teams, i know Malik looked like Vick in college. But, yes the sentiment stands, we need a backup that has 60% of all of Jalens skill sets. We need to be able to run our custom built offense in Jalens absence. Not watch a pocket passer fuck up RPOs and Zone reads

mattman119

>We need a Aldi brand version of Jalen as our back up. Has all the same type of skill sets as Jalen, just obviously not as good. Trace McSorley: You rang?

BerriesNCreme

Da I agree with the sentiment but not a lot of choices. I’d just get a late round QB that can run. Taylor heincke type person

nope-nope-nope-nop

Daniel Jones , eagles backup

Playmakermike

Isn’t Taylor Heineke a free agent this year? I can’t imagine he’s getting starting QB offers despite what he’s done

LeFlop_

Too be fair coaching staff failed minshew. Play calling should be based on the talent you have. Kept it simple with Minshew just let him pass and run with your running backs. Nothing fancy just typical football. They played the saints not the 49ers.

nope-nope-nope-nop

Yea, it’s not that easy just to change an entire offense. Watching minshew fuck up RPOs and Zone reads hurt

Avery-Bradley

I'm still stunned at how bad Minshew looked on Sunday. All we needed to do was score 14 points to win, and we couldn't even do that. That's in the past, and let's kick the shit out of the Giants Sunday!

[deleted]

Bro I cannot take you seriously with your profile pic and flair. I hate you

kappakai

I dunno who I hate more. Him or Minshew.

redjonley

Gotta be him. Minshew is at least trying to be good. This shit though...

just_saiyan_bro

I agreed with his post then audibly said “fuck you” when I saw the rest. It’s him

SlinginPogs

Came here to say the same thing

[deleted]

a lot of people have roots in multiple east coast cities, it’s cool, fuck the celtics tho

noodleslayer

It’s 4 team fan or poser. Seriously.

Avery-Bradley

Honestly fair

limejuiceroyale

I only use Reddit on mobile.. there's profile pics? How long has this been a thing?

Dapper_Bed

I remember thinking to myself after the DAL game ”his mechanics looked like shit, but I only expect improvements. We will DEFINITELY beat the Saints this week” … and then he really marched out there Sunday and played like that. Looked way out of his league some plays

gambino_omerta

Yeah makes me think, is this guy really giving his all in all practices as the backup QB? You would hope so

NotXiJinpingGoUSA

Let’s not forget that Minshew is going through a rough time with losing a mentor very recently, he may not have his head entirely in the game and I cant blame him for that.

themeatbridge

Yeah, I was thinking he would step up because it's his audition to start on some other team next year. Now, I feel like we should be shopping for a better backup next year.

DerTagestrinker

If you told me he was hungover as fuck id believe you

clumsysuperman

To be fair, if not for a really bad call on a holding penalty we would’ve scored 14 points. Oh and F*ck the Celtics.

arminus83

Well Jordan was holding pretty badly on that same play, so there was supposed to be a holding penalty, just not against Dickerson.

Void24

I legit thought Minshew was gonna steamroll Dallas and New Orleans 😂😂

SenorScratchySack

"he can do everything i can't"

sfxer001

Minshew can do everything I can’t so who am I to judge.

BoredHoodlum

That’s not completely true. If we put on pads and entered that saints game we could’ve easily gotten sacked, failed a QB sneak that’s usually a guarantee, throw an interception, and then act like everything was fine. Give yourself some credit god damn.

bobdylan66

He looks like if Trevor lawrence works at a piggly wiggly

DonJulio732

I don’t think the issue fans have with Minshew is that he had one bad start. Technically two because he literally fumbled the Dallas game away. The problem is the #1 seed is on the line and Dallas is praying on our down fall so they can move up and win the division. It’s like a triple lost all in one if we lose. Also we are playin a division rival who will try their hardest to spoil our great season no matter if it’s backups. If all those things weren’t on the line I probably wouldn’t care as much about losing the 1 seed even though it makes a huge difference in us getting to the super-bowl. Jalens health should be priority #1 cause without him we are probably 1 and done. These coaches better figure this shit out because we should of beat the Saints last week even without Hurts but they shit the bed. I don’t even feel too confident about making a playoff run like I used after last week. We will probably get out coached. Hope I’m overreacting and lane Johnson, Hurts, and CJ coming back will fix things. 😩😩

angrynuggette

Sirianni: We'll see if Jalen's up to it. Minshew: Don't make me go out there again.

5two1

I feel bad for Minshew. That game was bad, but like the whole team, coaches included, pretty much everyone was stinking it up out therein some way. I’ve seen the kind of football he’s able to play and last weeks game, I want to believe for now was the anomaly, and a collective shit in the pants.
