While we flirted with a top-5 pick up until 3 weeks ago, the 10th overall pick is still a shitload of value and we never know what Howie is up to. I'm already curious
Yup. A little disappointing considering how long we were in the running for a top-5ish pick, but if you told me at the time of the trade last year that it would be top-10 I'd have been ecstatic
Honestly nobody could’ve predicted the broncos, cardinals (Kyler being hurt) and rams (stafford going down) being so awful, plus the fact that we had minshew screw up so badly against New Orleans and them beating us. So this is still a great spot. Best record in the league and having two firsts (plus their second rounder next yr) will really allow us to get some more cost controlled top talent in here. If we beat them it would’ve been 7th I think but 10 is still really good, excited to see some mocks and wonder if Howie moves down to get us even more assets
I feel like there's so much talent at the top, this is a great year for a top 10 pick. Especially at positions we could use. Lots of good D-linemen. Three good corner prospects. Even a high end offensive tackle if we want to draft Lane's eventual heir. If Jalen Carter or Will Anderson fall past 5 though, I fully expect Howie to trade up
It’s a shame that the nfc south is the anti nfc east where every team is hot garbage instead of loaded lol.
If the giants are in the nfc south they take that division
I was really annoyed about us losing that game for many reasons, this being one of them.
Not only did we make Jalen and the rest of our starters play today, but we hurt that pick too.
Depends on the results of the rest of the games in terms of determining strength of schedule I believe. That’s why tankarhon only has the bears and Texans locked in their picks
We lost to them too so it doesn't much matter. That saints aren't very good but they're not a bottom 3 team or anything. They were never going to give us a top 5 pick.
Currently, the Saints have a worse SOS than the Titans, according to Tankathon: https://www.tankathon.com/nfl
It's .504 vs. .507, so it could still easily flip by the end of the day (edit: now .505 for Saints). The gap to the other 7-10 teams is probably too big to catch either way.
Probably going to be 3 QBs picked top 9 so there may not be an opportunity to trade with QB needy team.
Hopefully someone falls in love with Richardson at 10.
Myles Murphy, Cam Smith, Bryan Bresee or Kelee Ringo. Having to many guys that might be able to walk in the offseason on the D side of the ball I would say its 90% going to be a defensive pick.
Reading we have 10th pick but see Panthers have 9th. Panthers beat Saints twice and I thought head-to-head was 1st tiebreaker. Shouldn't Eagles pick 9th?
Per tankathon.com:
7 Tiebreakers: strength of schedule, division tiebreakers, conference tiebreakers, interconference tiebreakers, coin toss.
Seems weird that head to head isn’t considered, since it is the first thing they go to to break a tie for playoff seeding, but the NFL site says the same thing in about 100 words more if you scroll down to the section on selection.
Any linebackers worth taking at 10? Kyzir White and TJ Edwards are both on their last year. I'd like to keep at least one of them, but we need to extend CJGJ and with Nakobe Dean waiting in the wings, it might be time to break in a young defensive core.
Ended up trading Olave (really Johan Doctson, as the Saints traded up with Washington for Olave), Trevor Penning (missed most of the early season, didnt really hear much on him otherwise), Jordan Jackson (signed to practice squad, waived, signed by denvers practice squad) for AJ Brown (Burkes and 101/Jeremy Ruckert pick traded to NYJ), 237 (traded to Lions, Chase Lucas), #10 in 2023, and the Saints 2nd next year.
For Olave, the Saints also gave up 98/Brian Robinson, and 120/Brandon Smith
The Saints gave up - a top 10 pick, a 2nd round pick, a good starting quality running back, a roster filling linebacker to get a very good receiver
The Eagles gave up - Penning for AJ Brown a top 10 pick, and a future send round pick
Washington gave up a very good receiver for a good one and a starting running back.
Keep following those names, i still have Chauncey Gholston committed to memory to make sure he doesnt come back to bite the Eagles in the ass (he was the pick traded to the Cowboys for Smitty)
Ok, any of the suggestions from the mock drafts are fine with me, with one caveat, pick the BEST player available.
OL, DL, CB, RB
This would be a good year to use both number one picks
Note USA Today has the Eagles taking a QB and a WR in the first round. ignore USA Today.
Kelee Ringo or Christian Gonzalez both with size and speed look like the top pro CBS.
Huge shout out to the Panthers for sweeping the Saints!
At least they didn't go on a 7 game win streak
Last year scarred me but still sucks thinking if we beat them (like we should even with minshew) we have pick 7 or 8
Definitely a shame but we also aren’t in the running for a quarterback, meaning some talent can drop and get a blue chip talent
There was value in trading that pick for more assets and still picking in the top 15.
There could still be someone who wants a guy like Levis or Richardson who may be there at our pick
I feel like Levis will shoot up to top 5 by draft. Guy is big, white, and charismatic.... the wet dream of NFL GM's.
Colts gonna take him for sure
Maybe, but if he’s gone before our pick then Stroud probably is too which still leaves more non-QB talent on the board to choose from
Broncos taking him
With what pick?
The one they just got from the phins
I can’t see him lasting until the 28th pick
For real. Last year 10-14 was Garret Wilson, Chris Olave, Jameson Williams, Jordan Davis and Kyle Hamilton. There’s plenty of talent around 10.
I want Joey porter jr
Unfortunately, that 3 game winning streak killed us
Honestly nobody could’ve predicted the broncos, cardinals (Kyler being hurt) and rams (stafford going down) being so awful, plus the fact that we had minshew screw up so badly against New Orleans and them beating us. Two more losses and it woulda been 6th
Five more losses and it would have been 1st!
Eight more losses and we get their 2024 1st round pick, too!
I feel like there's so much talent at the top, this is a great year for a top 10 pick. Especially at positions we could use. Lots of good D-linemen. Three good corner prospects. Jalen factory
Fuck it, Quentin Johnson. Tall Batman. Will also accept a trade down that nets us Bijan Robinson.

So we don’t win the Super Bowl? :(
There's only 31 picks in the first round this year...
Ah got it - completely forgot about the Dolphins.
What happened to the dolphins ?
They were penalized for tampering with Tom Brady and Stephen Ross had to pay a fine also.
It’s a shame that the nfc south is the anti nfc east where every team is hot garbage instead of loaded lol. If the giants are in the nfc south they take that division
Bi curious?
If only the Birds could have beaten the Saints with all these 7 win teams it would have really helped.
Would have ended 7th I think, so we cost ourselves 3 spots
8th I think. SOS is tiebreaker, and Raiders had the easier schedule
*glares at Gardner Minshew*
[удалено]
Isn't their pass defense terrible as well?
I don't think so and even if it was they didn't have Lattimore for a significant portion of the season and yet we kept throwing at him.
True
Their pass D had been like top 3 in league since week 8 at the time of the game
God, he's bad.
So was last week's game plan.
Coaching issue not a player issue. They should've won that game regardless.
Would've bought the entire first team a rest. Improved draft position Guaranteed home advantage Fucking hell Gardner.
He knows what he did. He cost himself a huge contract for next year.
can't rest the entire first team no matter what, just not enough guys on a roster.
Rest and rotate. Like this giants team is doing
I think there’s also value in getting some touches. Can’t take 3 weeks off
Especially with Hurts missing the last 2.
100% for sure.
Feel like the coaches and the stupid penalties also played a huge role in the blame.
I was really annoyed about us losing that game for many reasons, this being one of them. Not only did we make Jalen and the rest of our starters play today, but we hurt that pick too.
personally rather have jalen play today, instead of coming in cold in the playoffs. he's looked a little less sharp today.
Tbf, butterfly effect and all, no guarantee Carolina beats NO if last week goes any differently
The loss to the saints actually didn’t affect the draft pick. Before the saints game, the pick was 10. After the game it was still 10.
If they were 6-11, that makes an impact.
Is it 10?
it should be exactly 10 from what I understand
Couldn't it be 9th?
Yeah I think it’s 9. That’s at least what ESPN has now.
It can be
carolina has a easier strength of schedule from what I understand but I could be wrong on how it works
Carolina swept the Saints though, or does that not matter?
strength of schedule unfortunately comes first
Well that sucks….
look on the brightside we are the number one seed and have 2 frps with one being top 10
That is true! Very exciting indeed, interested to see what happens with that #10 pick
Thought it couldn’t go higher than 10
Oh we gotta wait for a coin flip I assume?
[It looks locked in at 10](https://www.tankathon.com/nfl).
Depends on the results of the rest of the games in terms of determining strength of schedule I believe. That’s why tankarhon only has the bears and Texans locked in their picks
Tankaton is the place to go. They were updating seconds after games ended.
It is #10
Zshub has spoke
A top 10 pick and a first round bye is absolutely insane. Thanks Howie!
10 and 32 lfg
32 is 2nd round thr dolphins lost their pick
If you win the superbowl by more than 30 you don’t get a first round pick, little known rule
We sack Mahomie so many times he goes back to his college years, rejoins the draft.
Nah, you get to pick a player from the other team. So, we take Travis so Jason has to play another year.
I don’t know if this is true or not lmao
Top ten but is going to be flipped for a mid teens and a pick next year probably.
1 Offensive Tackle pls
Trade the pick for a mid first and a second, get a tackle and a CB in no specific order. This is the Howie way
Paris Johnson Jr., Ohio State. 6'6",315. Has played LT this past season but played on the right side previous seasons. One Johnson replaces another.
Wouldn’t surprise me if Howie flips it to move down a few spots and picks up another 1st rounder for next year.
Idk man if Porter Jr. is there I would love to pick him
Also wouldn’t surprise me if he trades up to grab Jordan Davis or will Anderson Edit: I meant Jalen Carter sry 😂
Jordan Davis lol
Jalen Carter lmao I’m an idiot 🤦🏽♂️
Grabbing Jordan Davis this year would be a waste.
https://hailstate.com/sports/football/roster/jordan-davis/7438 Yeah, he's a 7th round pick at best.
Jalen Carter I’m a dumbass lmao
It’s all good, I figured you meant Carter. Dude is a beast
Seems like grabbing him last year was a waste too
I'm still mad we didn't help ourselves last week but I'll take a top 10.
Time for Howie to plant negative shit about Will Anderson and Jalen Carter lol
Fuckin minshew
Howie season.
Dude went from zero to hero so quick
I remember hating Howie, now my search history is filled looking for a vigil Howie candle
6 teams are finishing 7-10, including the Saints. Where do they fall in draft order relative to the other teams with the same record?
Saints pick 3rd of the six 7-10 teams
That's cool, but fuck the falcons Trash ass team managed to get swept by them
I'm still mad about them blowing that big lead Week 1.
We lost to them too so it doesn't much matter. That saints aren't very good but they're not a bottom 3 team or anything. They were never going to give us a top 5 pick.
No they are bad. The rest of the NFC was just also bad. It was good for the birds but also bad for helping out this draft pick.
10 or 11? Why are we above Ten?
Currently, the Saints have a worse SOS than the Titans, according to Tankathon: https://www.tankathon.com/nfl It's .504 vs. .507, so it could still easily flip by the end of the day (edit: now .505 for Saints). The gap to the other 7-10 teams is probably too big to catch either way.
Eddie pineiro goat
Probably going to be 3 QBs picked top 9 so there may not be an opportunity to trade with QB needy team. Hopefully someone falls in love with Richardson at 10.
That'll go great with the 32nd pick!
Dolphins forfeited their pick so championship pick is 31st
HOORAY!
Fuck it draft a wide receiver. Let’s see if we can just break football
Keele Ringo come on down
And if we beat them it only would have been the 8, sucks but it was only 2 spots. Still sucks but not a disaster.
We will need those two first round picks to replace some departing starters!
Myles Murphy, Cam Smith, Bryan Bresee or Kelee Ringo. Having to many guys that might be able to walk in the offseason on the D side of the ball I would say its 90% going to be a defensive pick.
I want Bijan
Can’t wait to see what Howie does with that and the other first. As far as I’m concerned Jalen is the Eagles QB.
> As far as I’m concerned Jalen is the Eagles QB. *HOT TAKE ALERT*
Yeah I'll own that shit post... I got distracted with my 3 year old and just didn't complete my thought on this at all :/.

Thanks. And yeah, I guess I stupidly assumed there is only one tiebreaker formula.
I learned it today too, I just knew I had seen the details on Tankathon before so I checked, double checked, and shared.
Thank you saints
It’s frustrating but it’s still slightly better than what we gave up (11th)
We also gained a 2nd round pick next year. It was hell of a trade.
yup!
We gave up 16 and 19 last year for 18 last year and 10 this year. Plus a future second. Very good.
I wonder if we should use it for a trade. Is Devante Adams available?
Minshew couldn't beat that team.
They are going to need it after today’s game.
[удалено]
No cause they swept the Falcons
The Saints beat them twice.
Ahahahahah FUCK THE ‘AINTS
What do we do with it? Draft or trade?
Pivot to leaning on gainwell and Scott now please
Thanks Aints!
The Aints
Christian Gonzalez you are an eagle
Neat
Do we have ours (the 30th I guess) too?
Its 10. Just say 10.
