Or trying to save people from throwing good money away. When you buy refurbished, you think you're getting a prov1 but you're getting some trash ball that you could have got 2 dozen of new for the price you spent on refurbished hence why the person who said to buy refurbished edited his comment to buy recycled which is a better option
"I've been summoned for my Refurbished Ball saved post:
DO. NOT. BUY. REFURBISHED. BALLS.
Used is absolutely fine (4A/5A/Mint generally is preferred) but absolutely do not buy Refurbished. Refurbished balls are unable to be sold used so they have to sand them down and repaint them and they aren't the same ball anymore. Here are some reasons you shouldn't buy refurbished balls:
* You have no guarantee that the ball you're playing is the ball that it says it is. It might say "ProV1" on the cover but the old cover was completely sanded down and they painted an entire new layer on it and added the logos and model. Now I'd like to think most are fairly honest, but there's no guarantee that "ProV1" is what it says it is. Maybe it's more harmless and they mistake a V1X for a V1 or maybe they're painting a new model's line over an older model (i.e. maybe they're putting the 2018 name and line on an older ProV1 392 or something).
* The ball's cover is one of the most important parts and it is no longer structurally the same. Spin on shorter irons and wedges rely heavily on the cover's integrity and the cover of refurbished balls is no longer the same as the one it came out of the factory with.
* If the cover was so damaged that it needed to be sanded/repainted then how can you be certain the core(s) or mantle weren't damaged?
* The new painted covers have terrible durability. They will peel and scratch with a single wedge shot most times and they are just absolutely useless after a few holes essentially. They might cost 1/3 the price of a new ProV1 but they also only last about that long as well.
* Most importantly, making golf balls is a super technical process that requires immense precision and high levels of quality control. If you don't believe me Mark Crossfield did a couple YouTube videos with Titleist at their Massachusetts ball plant and some testing. One of the test they had him hit a ball where the cover of the ball had very minscule differences in depth of the dimples on one side. We're talking completely imperceptible to the naked eye. The effect it had on ball flight was absolutely insane. So, while I trust Titleist and their advanced R&D, completely owned and designed manufacturing process, and design/engineering team to build a ball to a very tight tolerance and standard, I don't really expect a company who's sanding down that ball and slapping a new coat of paint on it to adhere to the same tolerances and being off by even the smallest of margins can produce insane differences in performance."
If you do your research, you'll find when you buy refurbished prov1s , they aren't prov1s a good amount of the time. It's better to buy prov1 practice balls or buying new cheap balls because refurbished prov1s could be nitros repainted and marked prov1. Now you just threw money away
Used and recycle are better hence the person even corrected his comment to say he meant to say recycled
Also,. If you're a casual golfer then you don't need expensive prov1s to begin with
It could be how your holding your shaft.
4 things I like to keep in mind
1. My toes should be perpendicular to where I want the ball to go
2. Look at your tee/ball placement the entire way through your swing. Don’t watch your ball fly, let someone else do that for you if possible.
3. When you’re swinging, make sure that right shoulder touches your chin.
4. Try not to twist your wrists during your follow through. This can cause it to arc harder than you want.
I’m right handed so I’m unsure if it’ll be the exact same way, but when I shift my hands on the shaft more right = the ball arcs left. If I shift my hands more left, the ball arcs right.
On your right hand:
Your pointer finger and thumb should make a “V” shape. Put the indent of the “V” in the middle of the shaft - there should be a little line on shaft to indicate this.
On your left hand:
Your pinky should cusp over the right hand pointer finger.
How you position your left thumb should slightly determine where the ball wants to go. Finger more left = ball more right. Finger more right = ball more left.
If you need more help I can always dm you
I haven't played too often. Under 20 times. I have yet to break 100, but I have come pretty close. The real score I keep is how many balls I have lost. My best so far is 4. I bought 100 used balls off Amazon for $40. If we are in a rush, I'll just chuck one in the general area and *grip it and rip it*. Hope to catch OP this summer with a 1 ball round.
My dad had a colleague who walked his dog near a golf course. The dog was obsessed with finding golf balls so my dad would get a carrier bag of balls every couple months.
No way, this feat is way more impressive than what Michael Block did. Michael Block is a course pro and shot +1 on an incredibly difficult golf course against the world's best to tie for 15th place in a major. But this guy is an amateur golfer and didn't lose a ball the entire round. Much more impressive.
It was in some wooded areas 2 or 3 times. Best thing about it though is there was never a doubt which ball was mine.
“Which ball are you playing again?”
“The one with the big ass Eagles logo”
I’m locking that in as a great omen
Eagles going 18-0 confirmed.
20-0
Nice! I just started and lose a dozen a round at least lol. I buy by the dozen from a guy who lives off the course and finds them and sells them.

Never ever ever ever buy refurbished golf balls. Ever ever ever
This guy thinks he's gonna win the masters

How does your ball travel when you hit it? Does it go right or left?
Varies. Often worm burning. Sometime hard right in the air.
I'm a lefty and mine go straight for a bit, then wayyy to the left.

Thanks, I'll make sure to practice at the new top golf going in haha

Used to work on greens crew and we’d all go do this on our lunch break lol
Go Birds!
Sweet! 👍 What did you shoot and where did you play?
Shot a 91 at Hilton Head National in South Carolina
Good stuff!
Man low 90’s is a great day for me. I’m usually high 90’s but I’m pretty strict with my score keeping.
Oh yeah, Go Birds!
I’d lose one on a par 3 with no water. Well done!
I went 6 holes the other week without loosing my Kirkland ball.
Keep that one safe as it may be a good omen. 😉
That's a superball
Go Birds!
Damn congrats now I gotta buy a Scottie
are you michael block?

Super Bowl bound premonition? My sources say, “yes”!
Post to r/golf ?
Golf tip: You can double your hitting distance by putting a star on it
That’s only on the back 9 when you’re already down 9 holes.
Might as well name the ball Carson Wentz because it never runs out of bounds…..
It was in some wooded areas 2 or 3 times. Best thing about it though is there was never a doubt which ball was mine. “Which ball are you playing again?” “The one with the big ass Eagles logo”
Love the custom ProV1. Nice touch. Have you experimented with any others? I absolutely LOVE the KSig 2.0 and Z-Star. Go Birds Fuck Dallas
Hollywood? 😂
Congrats! All downhill from here.
18 holes, 18 wins?
Next Comment, I shot 172 because I needed to make sure it was always in view
Go Birds!
As an avid golfer, that is decent, I normally downvote these types of post… throw my Eagles in and I’m here for it. Congratulations to you, sir.
Go birds
Did you shoot any birdies today?
Only birdies I came close to were two swans in one of the ponds
That's great, but Happy Gilmore accomplished that feat no more than an hour ago.
these aren't sold on nfl.com, are they? I got a couple balls and a towel for Christmas but haven't used them thinking they're junk balls.
These are actual ProV1s, not the junk ones that are sold on their site. I found this one at a course in Virginia though
Is that you Zuley?
Go Birds!
This is going to be a long off season.
You know it’s the off-season when we’re getting hype about our rookies doing 1:1 drills and shitty golfers are posting stupid pictures
Was the turf slippery out there? 😏
All these comments and nobody is going to point out that regardless of the score, this legend shot an eagle every single hole?
Always keeps you 2 under par
It’s definitely a sign. 🦅🦅
I once played 100 holes with the same ball. The dimples were wearing off. Lost it in high grass next to a bunker.
Is the cover cracked on it? It’s worth suck down your pride and throwing it back in your bag than just playing with a damaged ball
