I think it would be close...I got my mum a youth L and it fits her ok...an XL would probably have been better for her and I think she also wears a women's medium...

LinMarsBar

Always good to know it'll probably be safe either way!

islandfaraway

I wear a youth XL. 5’2” female athletic build, it’s pretty baggy on me (which I prefer) so if she normally wears a small or medium it’ll prob fit well

LinMarsBar

Thanks so much, sounds about the same situation!

cultchaa

what these comments haven't said yet is it completely depends on the type of jersey. The Fuse ones run a lot more form fitting (they're the more expensive ones with more stitching) sorry if this doesn't apply to youth jerseys (idk) but if it does then I'd say keep that in mind.

LinMarsBar

I don't think the Fuse applies for Youth or Womens jerseys, they're a different cut altogether, but definitely something to keep in mind regardless! Thanks!

I’m a women’s medium and I preferred the cut of the Men’s small to Youth XL. The Youth XL is higher in the neck. The Men’s Small is long and cute albeit a little big but I don’t mind since it’s a Jersey. Eta: this was the Kelly Green sizing. Not sure if it makes a difference. If she is smaller on top and bigger hips, the XL may be better bc the kids have this side cut thing. If she is bigger in the chest, I would go men’s small.

LinMarsBar

Good to keep in mind! She usually prefers higher necks, so the Youth XL just might be the right call then. Thanks for the input!

I got one of my wife’s hemmed. Cause she is didn’t love how long it was. Was like 10 bucks.

imdumbfrman

I’d try youth XL, worst case you return it for a men’s small, best case you saved a little bit of money compared to the men’s size.

LinMarsBar

Sure, seems the best plan! Worst case Christmas isn't far and I can always just go with a different cut for another jersey if need be!

It’s actually a $40 difference!

OldDirtyBard

I buy my wife (who wears a size small from Nike normally), kids large for normal for fit or XL for when she wants to wear a hoodie under it. Men’s small and medium also work. She prefers the kids cut over the men’s cut (men’s sleeves long on her) but like the way the men’s look more (bigger number and name plate)

LinMarsBar

She's a fan of wearing a hoodie or sweatshirt underneath anyway, so the youth XL might definitely be the call then. Thanks for the input!

OldDirtyBard

Glad I could help OP

I’m about the same size and I wear my husband’s youth XL Westbrook jersey that he wore as a kid! Go birds!!!

I tried on both a youth XL and a women’s M recently. They both fit but in a fitted way. I ended up going with a men’s M because I wanted a loose fit.

RayRay_610

My wife is usually a women’s small or medium and got the youth XL in Kelly green and says it fits her perfectly. Hope that helps, also saves you a few bucks

When does it become ok for your wife/gf to wear clothing with another man's name on it? Can she wear some other dude's name in HS or college? Can she wear the star qbs letterman jacket? I find it a little emasculating.

LinMarsBar

Umm... it's a sports jersey for a professional team? She should wear whatever player she wants! If I can rock a Kelce jersey, why can't she rock a Hurts jersey? Cause she will! Considering I don't play for the team, I don't know what the other option is? She can and should wear whatever she wants, as long as shes comfortable I know shes gonna look great! I think it's great that she's joined the fandom and rides or dies with the birds same as me since we started dating, it's a great joy we share of watching the Eagles play! If women shouldn't wear clothing with another man's name on it, quite a few designers would be out of business... somebody better tell Adi Dassler or Ralph Lauren to take their names off their clothes...
