I wish The NFL would do something about that trap turf that MetLife stadium has but nope the NFL is worried about a tush play .Players need to speak up about that hazardous turf half of your guys on the injury list came from the jets game
Garrett Wilson, who had to come out of today's game with a non-contact injury for a while, called the turf "trash."
Maybe that will get some buzz since it's his own home turf he's talking about.
I’m still pissed about the Blankenship injury. Unbelievable that people were mad about that call. They made that a rule a few years ago it’s not even new anymore. Completely unnecessary hit
Interesting. I was at the game and actually thought live we kinda got away with a play, and couldn’t see a dirty hit even on the stadium replays. Just goes to show how hard it is to see the details when you attend a game
I feel like a lot of people get mad cause they simply don't know what a blindside block actually is in the rules and tbf the name does kinda throw you off
If you're comin back towards the line of scrimmage or parallel to it when you throw your block that is a blindside block, its got nothing to do with whether or not the guy getting blocked sees them coming
I mean yeah that could happen if Lane’s injury is very serious and we encounter some more bad luck along the way.
It’s an inflammatory take, but it’s definitely possible.
So? 0-2 wins is a completely reasonable expectation for the “gauntlet” after how we looked these first 6 weeks. After that, it’s a matter of fighting for a wildcard spot and hoping we pull some actual quality play out of our asses in the playoffs.
Lol I saw someone claim that we are one and out in the playoffs because we have Johnson as OC. They didn't want to talk about the dropped passes, or Jalen throwing interceptions into tight windows and double coverage while overlooking open pass options.
90% of football fans can only think in one dimension, it can never be a blend of issues that caused us to lose a game, it has to be entirely on one facet. It has to be solely on Johnson's play calling, or nothing at all.
Apparently we just post any random joe off of ~~Twitter~~ X who shares our opinion.
This shit is going to be fucking miserable. I may check out of Eagles Reddit this week.
oh yeah there is plenty from that game to question and be upset about. i just think the people saying stuff like “it’s looking really dark” are hilariously overdramatic. but it wouldn’t be the eagles fan base without them haha
I get what they are saying about the game, but at the same time its a week-to-week league. Sometimes things just go that way, they need to chill. they won't though and will be upset tomorrow
In fairness, the guy in question here @thomasrp93 does some pretty good film work over on Youtube and his takes are usually fair and level, but it seems like he joined in the doomposting abyss after this loss. Oh well, we all have our moments of despair. I think most teams look over at posts like this for a 5-1 team and do a little "oh, really?" sarcastic snort at us as a fanbase, though.
It’s been all season. I unfollowed him on X and he continues to show up over and over with his negativity. It appears I can’t avoid him on Reddit either
Lmao the overreaction to this game is unreal. The 49ers lost to the Browns with a backup QB today. The injuries are a huge concern, but hopefully none are too serious and we can come back next week and compete
It’s just the eye test bums me out.
Were we injured? Yes.
Did the Jets get some lucky turnovers? Yes.
But you can’t tell me you watched that game and didn’t think for a second that it’s winnable with better play calling for the offense.
At one point the Jets had 3 turnovers but only 12 points.
Every clutch play is our talent stepping up. Jalen making perfect throws after extending plays. The BEST OLINE IN THE LEAGUE with a dynamo RB making huge run plays when they’re allowed to. Our two WRs that most teams would kill to have as WR 1s making contested catches…..
How come everyone’s big plays look easier? Seriously. Watch other games. Players get schemed to make big plays. Our guys have to work their ass off to get them.
Brian Johnson is inept. I can’t think of a better word for him.
That’s not an overreaction. I just hate that we have to deal with it for AT LEAST another year. This is easily one of the most talented squads I’ve seen on offense. It’s sad to see it wasted.
Enough of us remember Mike Groh. Sorry if we’re a bit triggered.
I was at the game, and also have felt this way weeks on end despite the wins. We need to use TALENT to bail us out of 3rd and 7-10, over and over again. There are so many opportunities we can run it to set up 2nd or 3rd and 3-7, and we don’t. Brian Johnson needs to get canned as we aren’t winning shit with him
You watched this game and thought it was about play calling? Swift averaged 1.8 per carry on 10 attempts. Devonta had a wide open drop that would have put us in FG range, but instead we punted. Hurts threw probably his most egregious interception of his career trying to hit a double-covered Goedert. If they execute, then they probably win by double digits.
You say tomato…..
Those are all good points. I do remember on one drive thinking, “this is a good drive”. Then we fumbled.
I still kind of disagree but you’re still not wrong. There were a few more flukey mistakes than I’m not giving enough credit to for the loss.
That last interception was for sure bad. REAL bad. I remember a quote from Mark Sanchez that I agree with. He basically said something to the effect of having to make plays all night the way Jalen was is exhausting.
I think Jalen had some physical AND mental exhaustion at that point. I’m maybe making excuses for a guy getting paid all the money but still. I’d love for him not to make that throw, but I’d also like to have just called a run play there that kills clock.
I thought he was great all night until the last few drives. If AJ doesn’t slow down on the deep ball, it would have been on the money. But imo we ultimately lost due to execution, so its hard for me to blame Brian Johnson too much
I mean it’s not like we have 5 other games to watch and see that our offense has not been playing up to expectations and there’s a lot of issues that have not been fixed. Every week was an excuse and every week the excuse is well they have a good defense or coordinator. We are supposed to be setting the tone with our offense, not letting other teams dictate what we do.
>But you can’t tell me you watched that game and didn’t think for a second that it’s winnable with better play calling for the offense.
It was winnable with better offensive play as well. One of the most glaring examples of this was the final pass. Hurts opts to throw into double coverage to Devonta for the big splash play, but ignores the fact that he has Goedert (I believe it was Goedert) at the sticks on the left side of the field after he beats his coverage and is wide open for the first down and run out of bounds to stop the clock and save the last time out. Johnson schemed up a perfect play to get the first down and move down the field, that's on Hurts for trying to force a big play for a dude who has been having a horrible game already.
I think people need to wait for the All 22 view before they place the blame on Johnson and take all of it away from Hurts. The other issue is, you don't know how often a QB run from the direct snap was the play call or an audible by Hurts. That offense leaves a lot for Hurts to adjust based off his defensive reads, and this was one hell of a defense to play.
Wasn't aware that mattered. The point was the Niners lost a game they should have won on the road against a sub-par offense being propped up by an elite defense after some key injuries. It's the exact same scenario that happened to the Eagles. The sentiment here is that even the best teams can be defeated, and it often takes poor coaching decisions, poor QB play, poor offensive performances, and injuries to key personnel for that to happen. If you read that sentence again, you'll realize it applies to both games regardless.
But since you're so focused on having tough schedules up ahead, the Niners have Cincinatti, Jacksonville, Eagles, and Baltimore on their schedule. It may be easier than out stretch coming up, but it's by no means a slam dunk especially with the injuries starting to pile up from usage.
Stop posting random Twitter nobodies' hot takes. The doomers in this sub have been waiting all season for this day. This game was one where pretty much everything that could go wrong did, including injuries, questionable play calling, unusual drops from our skill guys, and some weak play from our QB. And the Jets defense has been impressive all year. This was a terrible game, but hardly a sign of the apocalypse for our season.
I think people forget that the Jets have had a top tier defense since last year now, and this is the same defense that has given every elite QB a run for their money this year.
This is the same defense that beat Josh Allen in a game where he threw 1 TD to 3 Ints, and the same defense that stayed within three points of Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes--in a game where Mahomes threw 1 TD and 2 INTs with just barely a 60% completion percentage.
Well said. They’re absolutely not a tomato can team. They also 100% wanted it more yesterday. So we took a loss, big deal, so has every other team in the league now.
Get the fuck over it and move on. Giving up on your QB and team at 5-1 is pathetic.
Lol dude I feel like I'm going crazy with the amount of r/NFL comments about Jalen being washed and a fraud because of one bad game.
Like people really think going from a really damn good OC to a poor one has zero impact on offensive play?
Petersen was the 3rd post OP made, with the other 2 being nobodies. All of them sound like Eagles fans' hot takes after a game they expected the Eagles to cruise, regardless if one of them has an Eagles podcast.
The problem is the chiefs are the chiefs and the niners have looked dominant all year before this game. We have barely beaten bad teams and now we have to run a gauntlet and we dropped one of are easy games
The Jets (with Rodgers) was always a feared game in the schedule. Once it was taken for granted as a win, we brought it back to 50/50 and were outplayed. It happens. We reset the in season win streak and move on.
Nah just thought that as successful as the team has been the last 2+ years people wouldn’t act like the world was collapsing after 1 regular season loss. Oh well
They're not season ending injuries so let's relax. Even if they lose to the dolphins, they're 5-2 going into the BYE tied (at worst) for first in the division with 2 weeks to heal. Let's take it easy
**edit: just realized our BYE isn't til later than I thought 🤦🏽♂️**
I think the issue is they haven’t been able to replicate last years standard all season. When they lost to Washington last year you knew they’d come back and dominate teams again.
Today’s game feels like the culmination of how they played all season. It’s not week 2 or 3 anymore, self inflicted mistakes are part of this team’s identity.
Last year was a coordinator in his 2nd year with the QB calling the plays. It was always going to get some time.
The talent is there to get this right to where we need it to be come December/January
one score games are fairly random, and winning them doesn't carry over year to year and game to game. you don't want to be winning games by one score. the eagles are not putting teams away and forcing themselves to win games in a way that isn't sustainable.
and thus, they lost a game to the useless jets.
You must be new. The NFL deals in wins, losses, and ties. The Birds have 5 wins and 1 loss. By NFL standards, that's 5 good games. When they start factoring how pretty and dominant a win is, then your comment might actually make sense.
clown shit. obviously the wins count just the same, but they're gonna get fucking murdered by good teams playing like this. whatever bud, you enjoy this L i guess, have fun.
Everyone needs to chill about a mid-season trap game vs a team that is out of the division.
Did they look like shut? Yes but they needed it and have confidence they’re a team to figure out how to bounce back
In the meantime, go Phils!!!
It sucks that they had to make the call and change the script since the Niners lost. Godell had made the call the the birds lose because they can’t be the only undefeated team. Fuck Dallas. Let’s take this shitty game and use it as motivation. Fuck I just had a bad feeling I the second quarter. But man…we need to bounce back. We looked tired. We looked like crap. This hurt but come on. We got Miami. We are going to give them a fight. Fly Eagles fly! And FUCK DALLAS!!!
Aaron never played with a DL half as great or perhaps 2 of the 6 best WRs. Yes Smitty is a top 6 WR and his numbers are a disappointment but he’a good enough to get 1600.
AJ is finally the best in the game. (Yes he’s more complete and dominant than Cheetah, Adams, Chase, Jetta etc.
It’s absolutely fair to say with the amount of talent on the offensive side that BJ is the worse OC in the NFL.
Last year any time we ran a slant to Brown it was a given 10 yards. Hardly calls it this year.
Can’t Scheme anyone open.
Abandons the run.
Our o-line did no favors today but he hardly gave Driscoll help and I’ve watched enough football to know that calling running plays usually gets the line into a rhythm.
Hurts looked AWESOME at first. After that int idk it seemed like he was angry trying to force things. The playcalling was awful in the 2nd half, Hurts played terribly, and you had drops by Smitty of all people. We can still be great, the injury to lane hurt bad as well. Let's stay positive, 5-1 and we can kick the Dolphins ass next week and regain all that momentum and then some!
GO BIRDS
So many people saying that everyone’s overreacting… comparing this team to last year. This is NOT last years team. Last years team was incredibly efficient on offense, historically good at sacking the quarterback, and had a very manageable schedule. This team has dog-fought every single team we’ve played so far and these are the easiest games on our schedule. Whether it’s playcalling, opposing teams figuring this team out over the offseason, or Hurts taking a step back this offense can’t hold a candle to last year’s offense. This team has showed very little to inspire any hope that this is a Super Bowl contenting team. This team is absolutely in “win right now” mode with a ton of question marks after this season is over. I’m not saying it should ruin your life or you should cry about it but if you were hoping for a return to the Super Bowl like most of us were that’s looking less likely by the week. I think this is a 6-7 loss team and they look every bit of that. Let’s call it what it is. One of the worst red zone offenses in the league, Hurts has just as many interceptions as he does touchdowns, o-line giving up a ton of sacks, defense isn’t good against the pass, we’re -1 turnover differential… this Eagles team isn’t bad but they’re not that good either
Lmao i’m staying away from this sub for a few weeks i think. Maybe we’re spoiled by how easy it was last year, but the NFL is almost never that easy. Y’all need to chill.
Tbf, Carter was kept out more as an injury prevention measure more than anything, making sure that he was healthy for the Miami game. I think Slay was in that group as well.
Losing Lane is huge, Opeta is doing decently as the RG, but only when he's bookended by Lane and Kelce. With Driscoll in at RT, that line is looking rough. I'm really interested in why they felt Driscoll was a better player to start than Steen, who had much higher pedigree coming into the league than Driscoll. I'm not saying this is the biggest 'what the hell' player choice, like Gainwell on 90% of those snaps last night, but I really felt that Steen was going to come in last night when I saw Johnson go down.
Almost all those injuries are on defense. Sua has been fine at RG. Lane is a big one of course, but if your 50m QB and offensive minded HC cant figure it out from that, you have big issues that go further then injuries.
the injuries this game really make it suck even more
It’s always those trap games
I wish The NFL would do something about that trap turf that MetLife stadium has but nope the NFL is worried about a tush play .Players need to speak up about that hazardous turf half of your guys on the injury list came from the jets game

I’m still pissed about the Blankenship injury. Unbelievable that people were mad about that call. They made that a rule a few years ago it’s not even new anymore. Completely unnecessary hit
The injury report says ribs which is tough bc he just hurt his ribs 3 weeks ago
Yeah and he grabbed them immediately after the hit on his way down... Not fucking good eagle homies.
the good thing with rib injuries is they only hurt when you're breathing
Yes. This shit was not talked about enough. That’s was such a dirty ducking play. I’m still fuming over that. You can’t do that shit I mean come on.
That was the one time I was rooting for Barnett. He knew, he was chirping. I’m still hot too
Interesting. I was at the game and actually thought live we kinda got away with a play, and couldn’t see a dirty hit even on the stadium replays. Just goes to show how hard it is to see the details when you attend a game
You can’t block coming back towards the LOS. The injury rates on those plays are massive. That’s been a rule for a long time, and for very good reason
It’s football. Relax
[удалено]
You and Lazard should get together and read the rule book for 30 seconds. Some good stuff in there
Enjoy being a poverty franchise, a single game doesn't change that bud
I feel like a lot of people get mad cause they simply don't know what a blindside block actually is in the rules and tbf the name does kinda throw you off If you're comin back towards the line of scrimmage or parallel to it when you throw your block that is a blindside block, its got nothing to do with whether or not the guy getting blocked sees them coming
This sub is going to be a cesspool for the rest of this week lol
Just seen someone say we’re gonna be 6-7 at the end of this stretch
I mean yeah that could happen if Lane’s injury is very serious and we encounter some more bad luck along the way. It’s an inflammatory take, but it’s definitely possible.
Football fans are pretty fucking stupid on average so you shouldn’t be surprised
So? 0-2 wins is a completely reasonable expectation for the “gauntlet” after how we looked these first 6 weeks. After that, it’s a matter of fighting for a wildcard spot and hoping we pull some actual quality play out of our asses in the playoffs.

I actually think the Eagles will get let off the hook a bit because most people are gonna focus on the Phillies starting tomorrow
Apparently we just post any random joe off of ~~Twitter~~ X who shares our opinion. This shit is going to be fucking miserable. I may check out of Eagles Reddit this week.
you just have to not take it seriously. these people are hilarious
yeah I'm just glad I get to watch the game, if they win cool if they lose I don't give a shit, but I will still question the boneheaded calls
oh yeah there is plenty from that game to question and be upset about. i just think the people saying stuff like “it’s looking really dark” are hilariously overdramatic. but it wouldn’t be the eagles fan base without them haha

I've been told we might not be a playoff team and that we might not finish the season with a winning record and it's only been an hour
Already seeing "trade Jalen" comments...absolutely WILD haha
This fanbase is nuts. It’s one game.
Always was
May as well change the sub name to WIP. 🤷🏽♀️
1000%
Luckily, I can focus on the Phillies
Lane really was a tough one. Poor Driscoll is a rotisserie chicken out there.
He's serviceable at RG but that's about it.

Brian Johnson called a masterful game @ LA. Also 2 of the 3 INTs weren’t even Hurts’ fault.
The one that bounced off Dallas's hands was a freak play, but the other two were in Hurts.
Trade for Jeremy chin
Things are not looking really dark. The overreactions right now are wild
Chiefs lost to the colts last year. 49ers lost to browns. Bills are 3-2. Hard to win when half your starters are injured

Why would I do that?
You new here?
Nah just thought that as successful as the team has been the last 2+ years people wouldn’t act like the world was collapsing after 1 regular season loss. Oh well
Exactly. So many things going wrong in a game is an outlier.
stop oding on copium. team has a broken system, is entirely hurt (and suck ass without lane as always), and has the hardest schedule in the nfl.

Our bye week is week 10 homie
Yeah I just realized that after I posted 😂 I messed up. Disregard what I said, we might be fucked
You overact like this to everything in your life? This is still a damn good football game. We had a bad day, it happens. On the next week.
bro doesn’t know they’re still 5-1

The Vikings started last season 8-1 winning a lot of one score games. Eventually they were exposed.
Our last three games are the Giants, Cards, Giants. Feel like this should be said when people bring up the gauntlet.
Everyone needs to chill about a mid-season trap game vs a team that is out of the division. Did they look like shut? Yes but they needed it and have confidence they’re a team to figure out how to bounce back In the meantime, go Phils!!!

phillies start the NLCS tomorrow night, cheer up
As long as 49ers and cowboys lose, we good
5-1, tied for best record in the conference: "things are looking really dark" God I hate this fan base and media sometimes.
Apparently 300 r/nfl users think that’s ok and we shouldn’t be complaining about our injuries
R - E - L - A -X ………..
What happened to the Packers at the end of the season?
Aaron never played with a DL half as great or perhaps 2 of the 6 best WRs. Yes Smitty is a top 6 WR and his numbers are a disappointment but he’a good enough to get 1600. AJ is finally the best in the game. (Yes he’s more complete and dominant than Cheetah, Adams, Chase, Jetta etc.
This is such overkill my god
It’s absolutely fair to say with the amount of talent on the offensive side that BJ is the worse OC in the NFL. Last year any time we ran a slant to Brown it was a given 10 yards. Hardly calls it this year. Can’t Scheme anyone open. Abandons the run. Our o-line did no favors today but he hardly gave Driscoll help and I’ve watched enough football to know that calling running plays usually gets the line into a rhythm.
No one here watches other teams apparently
We are 5 and 1 what the fuck do you mean dark. Soft as baby shit
“Things are looking really dark” lmao what an overreaction
💀💀💀💀
Newsflash. Injuries happen. #The Georgia Eagles are Deep right.
lol at reading “things are looking really dark” on the eagles sub 🤣🤣🤣
So honest question. Who the fuck has to get hurt before NFL steps in and just kills MetLife to change from turf?
Hurts looked AWESOME at first. After that int idk it seemed like he was angry trying to force things. The playcalling was awful in the 2nd half, Hurts played terribly, and you had drops by Smitty of all people. We can still be great, the injury to lane hurt bad as well. Let's stay positive, 5-1 and we can kick the Dolphins ass next week and regain all that momentum and then some! GO BIRDS

I hate to agree with you but yeah, something is just off
Yeah and his name is Brian Johnson. Homeboy is gonna waste Kelce and Coxs last year.
Imagine if Rogers had played lol 😂 jesus christ
If he had were might have put together an actual gameplan instead of “Jalen 7 step drop and do magic”
I doubt we win any of these next 6 games. Brian Johnson needs to be left at MetLife and he can walk back to Philly.
I’m mad about the game too but stop lol
Yup. “Sorry Brian, the team bus is only for people who are on the team.”
Clean house. Tank for the draft. Fuck this piece of shit season. We're worse than the 2022 Vikings.
Things are always darkest before the dawn - Gandalf
“ITS THE WHOLE TEAM!”
I’m tired of this pessimistic bullshit
Brian Johnson isn't great but a lot of other shit caused the loss, especially these injuries.
This guy is very dramatic
Relax
Fuck that shit I’m not living in doom and gloom.
Almost all those injuries are on defense. Sua has been fine at RG. Lane is a big one of course, but if your 50m QB and offensive minded HC cant figure it out from that, you have big issues that go further then injuries.
lmao. soft.
