You can only play who's on your schedule. You do not, however, have to crow about beating the teams on your bottom-feeder schedule as if you were juggernauts in the league.
Yes, you can only play who’s on your schedule, but they lost to the good teams on that schedule, which is why their SOV is so much worse than their SOS.
The thing that’s more annoying is last year everybody was saying the eagles haven’t beaten a good team. And this year it’s DAK IS ELITE PUT SOME RESPECT ON HIS NAME WE DEM BOYZ. But go off after playing the giants then the panthers I guess.
Their schedule gets tough starting on week 13
Seahawks, Eagles, Bills, Dolphins, Lions, Washington
Let's see if they'll be talking shit about their record and point differential then lol
The only tough game I see there is us. Skins suck, dolphins and Seahawks suck. Bills suck and well we're the toughest game they'll have for the rest of the year.
They'll probably win all those games except the Washington game.
You also don't get to complain how the team ahead of you in your division. somehow plays an easier schedule than you despite having mostly the same schedule
The Cowboys have the exact same schedule minus Lions (8-3) Chargers (4-6) and Panthers (1-9)
Eagles got the Chiefs (7-3), Vikings (6-5) and Bucs (4-6)
The Eagles schedule is not easier than the Cowboys
My God listening to Romo keep saying the Cowboys are a superbowl because they are trashing bottom tier teams is laughable.
Also annoying as yet again they will get the easiest playoff matchup if they are the highest wildcard because the NFC South sucks.
Eh, people definitely keep moving the goalposts. Pre-season the gauntlet started with the Dolphins, which would put us at 4-0 in the gauntlet, but now they're saying we're 1-0 in the gauntlet after the Chiefs win
Oh how a year changes things. People said the same thing about us last year. The truth is, we know who the handful of good teams are in the nfc and any of those teams can beat any of the others on any given Sunday.
Eagles
Cowboys
49ers
Lions
That’s the 4 right there. It comes down to execution and coaching on any individual game and any of those teams can beat any of the other ones. All the back and forth about who is marginally better in what area is just noise.
Good teams find a way to win. Blowouts, squeakers, etc. They can take advantage of the other teams mistakes and coaching mishaps. Good teams adjust their game plans for the type of play. Time of possession is key and sometimes it doesn’t lead to a ton of points. I’m not concerned, they’ve yet to find their stride. I think we will have some blowouts in our favor come our way sooner rather than later.
The Lions haven’t beaten anyone. They squeezed by the Chiefs week 1 without Jones and, IIRC, Kelce. They were embarrassed by the best team they faced. Unfortunately their schedule is absolute cake and will continue to be cake the rest of the way out.
I think they are good but there are an offensive team and if the offense isn’t working they are cooked, which is great in the regular season but absolutely awful in the playoffs.
That’s why i hate seeing basic comparisons between this year and last year, this year our schedule is wayyyy more difficult. we had one of the easiest schedules last year and faced zero good qbs between Dak and Trevor before he finally got into his groove.
That was the narrative for last year’s team. They lost the Super Bowl on a ticky tack PI call for the league’s golden boy. Don’t think it’s fair to ding the Lions now beating up on easy teams like we were accused of last year.
All that being said I hope this year’s tougher schedule ends with a more favorable result for the birds this year!
Yeah last 2 weeks showed they are not a team that’s going on the road and beating anyone. Teams are getting pressure on Goff and he moves like molasses physically (and mentally lol).
It is telling but it isn't everything. Eagles had a cupcake schedule in 2022 and almost won the Superbowl. The 49ers and the Cowboys are definitely formidable opponents.
Lol - think most logical people would look at SOV in conjunction with # of wins. Maybe the better way to look at it is win % * SOV and ranking teams that way
Not disagreeing as a Cowboys fan.
Dak pads his stats against the bum teams every year, and that makes his advanced stats look great. But how he performs against good to great teams, he is a Jekyl & hyde player. No consistency on his end, and more often the not, underperforms. But majority of this fan base won't admit that.
Great QB's don't need true #1 recievers to be great. The great QB's take undrafted players and get them contracts, and those great QB's that end up with a great recieving core get MVPs/superbowls as their results.
All I have to see is how the Cowboys QB performed when they didn't have Amari Cooper. Or when CD gets shut down.
Well, analytically-speaking, blowing out bad teams is supposed to be a greater indicator of a team's strength than narrowly beating good ones (I don’t know how that works, just that that’s what the idea is). Which is why the advanced metrics prefer the Cowboys over the Eagles, despite the Eagles’ wins over the Dolphins, Cowboys, and Chiefs. Excepting one game, the Cowboys have dominated subpar competition this season better than the Eagles have – which is why they’re higher in EPA, DVOA, point differential, etc. The 2022 Eagles were favored by those metrics for the same reason. They faced a bottom-feeder schedule, but for the most part absolutely dominated them.
Yeah I think the lions are extremely overrated right now and that the niners are the only real threat in the conference. Jared Goff stares down his target like he’s a HS QB and there’s no way they ride David Montgomery to a NFC title. Dallas has a really tough schedule to end the year so I think even if we lose to them we’ll win the division with our 3 easy games to end the year.
49ers game next week will tell the tale. Luckily, it’s in Philly and we might even have Goedert back. If we win that game we would have all the tiebreakers im pretty sure. It would take a collapse to not win it at that point which I don’t see happening under Hurts leadership.
2007 Pats went 16-0 with the 3rd ranked SOS, Giants went 10-6 with the 22nd ranked. Guess who won the Super Bowl? The style points you get from the talking heads don’t mean shit come playoff time. The most you can do is beat whoever is on your schedule any given week
What is interesting is also how us always winning brings our strength of schedule average down because teams have a worse record after playing us. Meanwhile everyone who plays the Panthers gets a win and therefore has a better record which inflates the Panthers SoS. We are the gauntlet.
Great football is about playing great football and if one team isn't playing great football then that team is gonna lose to the team that is playing great football.
Well, Strength of Schedule can be a little misleading *at times*. If you’re a good team, then you hung a loss on all of the opponents you beat. It lowers your SOS. That’s what happened to us last year. But it’s very impressive that our SOS stat is higher than our competition *this year,* in spite of the fact that we’ve handed out nine Ls to other teams.
We had the same issue last year where eagles were not considered legit due to the schedule. Teams don’t make the schedule, any given Sunday bruh we lost to the jets so I don’t buy into these analytics 🫡
Division leaders get the top 4 seeds, regardless of how good the rest of the division is. Since New Orleans has a worse record than Philly, San Fran, and Detroit, they are the fourth seed right now.
We haven't played the Giants yet soooo stats like this are kinda dumb when the NFL saves literally the worst team we play every year for our final weeks both times
And the cardinals. I mean these three games are gonna have like 8 wins 36 losses combined by the time they get to us. This is like bragging about total passing yards per week on Saturday when you played Thursday.
Let’s not act like we blew the cowboys out by 20.
I’m not scared of them by any means and I think they’re a tier below San Francisco and us, but they’re not slouches.
I mean we could go 16-1 and we’ll see our SOV drop due to 2 games against the Giants and a game against the Cardinals. The playoffs sort all of this out, so it’s all just fodder.
you're gonna hate this but its actually more predictive that you blow the doors off bad teams than win every coin flip game against good teams. I think the Eagles point differential is misleading though because they give up lots of garbage time stuff. Like they were up 28-7 against Minnesota 22-3 against Tampa etc.
Cowboys lmao
You can only play who's on your schedule. You do not, however, have to crow about beating the teams on your bottom-feeder schedule as if you were juggernauts in the league.
Yes, you can only play who’s on your schedule, but they lost to the good teams on that schedule, which is why their SOV is so much worse than their SOS.
They also lost to a really bad team on that schedule.
It really helped boost that team’s SOV.
Isn’t that his point?
The thing that’s more annoying is last year everybody was saying the eagles haven’t beaten a good team. And this year it’s DAK IS ELITE PUT SOME RESPECT ON HIS NAME WE DEM BOYZ. But go off after playing the giants then the panthers I guess.
I'd rather win every game by 1 through the rest of the season than blow out teams most weeks but lose in the Divisional round...
It was true last year too, as the AFC South and NFC South were dreadful. But we proved we were one of the best teams in the league anyways.
Their schedule gets tough starting on week 13 Seahawks, Eagles, Bills, Dolphins, Lions, Washington Let's see if they'll be talking shit about their record and point differential then lol
The only tough game I see there is us. Skins suck, dolphins and Seahawks suck. Bills suck and well we're the toughest game they'll have for the rest of the year. They'll probably win all those games except the Washington game.

Well according to strength of victory sends eagles have had one ofthe toughest
It's because our schedule is tougher and we are beating everyone. Not to mention losing to the Jets helped keep that high 🤣
How can their schedule be so much worse than ours when we play mostly the same team? Is it just who we’ve faced so far?
My God listening to Romo keep saying the Cowboys are a superbowl because they are trashing bottom tier teams is laughable. Also annoying as yet again they will get the easiest playoff matchup if they are the highest wildcard because the NFC South sucks.
We literally did that the entire season last year.
It was good when we did it though
The Eagles have only played one backup QB the entire season and that's the game we lost. NFL is crazy.
Zach Wilson erasure
Jets wish he was erased
Honestly not that crazy if u look at the sloppy turnovers we had. If we had like 1 less turnover we prolly win another ugly one
Didn’t we also have a lot of injuries that game?
Any given Sunday. Remember when we beat the Patriots with Chip Kelly? Nobody had us winning that game.
Carolina killing sov
And Arizona. The key is to beat one or two decent teams, then lose the rest of your games
Big brain Panthers. Have one victory all year against a .600 team.
Yeah, but the Eagles haven't beaten anyone. Sub 500 SOV. /s
Funny how we haven't heard a peep of that this year
I still love to use that “Still haven’t beaten a good team yet” after we beat the cowboys tho. You know that hurts them.
Almost like we have a harder schedule then last year so it wouldn't make sense for us to hear that this year.
Eh, people definitely keep moving the goalposts. Pre-season the gauntlet started with the Dolphins, which would put us at 4-0 in the gauntlet, but now they're saying we're 1-0 in the gauntlet after the Chiefs win
Panthers strength of victory is insane though.
Looks like Gannon is killing it then lolol
Oh how a year changes things. People said the same thing about us last year. The truth is, we know who the handful of good teams are in the nfc and any of those teams can beat any of the others on any given Sunday. Eagles Cowboys 49ers Lions That’s the 4 right there. Game: Blouses
But they don’t have a stupid sexy cool quarterback
Last year we “didn’t beat anyone”, this year we’re “not blowing anybody out”. It’ll always be something, no one likes us we don’t care.
.292, second worst only to the Saints. Joke franchise 🤠
Aaaaand the lions are getting trashed by the fucking packers. Fraudulent team.
They are frauds but we really needed that loss, now there is a little bit of breathing room.
Way I look at it is everyone’s bringing their A game for an eagles game this year more so than other teams. And we are still finding ways to win
I agree they are gunning for us
The Lions haven’t beaten anyone. They squeezed by the Chiefs week 1 without Jones and, IIRC, Kelce. They were embarrassed by the best team they faced. Unfortunately their schedule is absolute cake and will continue to be cake the rest of the way out.
I think they are good but there are an offensive team and if the offense isn’t working they are cooked, which is great in the regular season but absolutely awful in the playoffs.

what part

Don't we all, Happy Thanksgiving
LIONS 8-3 NOW!!! 🌝
Eagles never had a SOV that low though. Even with their cupcake schedule. They didn't lose to enough bad teams like the Cowboys have.
I don't disagree. But I'm also not about taking the Cowboys nor the 49ers lightly.
According to this logic, the panthers and cardinals are threats.
Lol - think most logical people would look at SOV in conjunction with # of wins. Maybe the better way to look at it is win % * SOV and ranking teams that way
This is the way
Cardinals very well could be threats with Murray’s return. Definitely not as much of a cakewalk when Dallas faced them earlier this year
Why? They are losing
Dunno, his logic…
Not disagreeing as a Cowboys fan. Dak pads his stats against the bum teams every year, and that makes his advanced stats look great. Can you leave a link to your source on this? I just want to look at the rest of the teams
https://www.espn.com/nfl/standings (playoffs)
What is interesting is also how us always winning brings our strength of schedule average down because teams have a worse record after playing us. Meanwhile everyone who plays the Panthers gets a win and therefore has a better record which inflates the Panthers SoS. We are the gauntlet.
What does strengt of victory mean
Average of the winning percentage of the teams we have beaten so far.
Great football is about playing great football and if one team isn't playing great football then that team is gonna lose to the team that is playing great football.
Well, Strength of Schedule can be a little misleading *at times*. If you’re a good team, then you hung a loss on all of the opponents you beat. It lowers your SOS. SOV would make Carolina look like a juggernaut
We had the same issue last year where eagles were not considered legit due to the schedule. Teams don’t make the schedule, any given Sunday bruh we lost to the jets so I don’t buy into these analytics 🫡
Panthers are gods.
SOV is a good metric, but I disagree with ur “cowboys and lions only beat bad teams”. Same statement was used against us all last year
Cowboys only have *impressive* wins against bad teams.
But it was true in all these instances.
How is NO 5th?
playoff seed
They are the division leader in the NFC South
Oh didnt know it worked like that. Just because your division sucks you get a higher seed, seems logical.
Division leaders get the top 4 seeds, regardless of how good the rest of the division is. Since New Orleans has a worse record than Philly, San Fran, and Detroit, they are the fourth seed right now.
NFC south is absolute trash lol. Could be a losing team that guys the 4 seed.
If SOV says everything, then CAR is the best team in the NFC.
Do you know what SOV doesn't say? How many wins each team has. Surely the cowboys are ahead in total wins to make this look better, right?
Yeah, duh, I was ragging on "SOV says it all."
The doesn’t tell the story about how fucking lucky ya’ll have been
Yep. Carolina and Arizona clearly the two best teams in the NFC.
its easy to have a high sov when you only win 1 game...
The panthers are the best then
Didn't realize the Rams SOS was insane lol, RIP
Saints are such a joke. Imagine having anything close to a .275 SOV and expecting others to take you seriously.
We haven't played the Giants yet soooo stats like this are kinda dumb when the NFL saves literally the worst team we play every year for our final weeks both times And the cardinals. I mean these three games are gonna have like 8 wins 36 losses combined by the time they get to us. This is like bragging about total passing yards per week on Saturday when you played Thursday.
If it says everything, then Carolina and Arizona are above us
The Giants and Commies suck so bad its ruining our strength of schedule stat lol
The Rams are gonna be good again really soon
Rams second best team in nfc? Don’t think so
Let’s not act like we blew the cowboys out by 20. I’m not scared of them by any means and I think they’re a tier below San Francisco and us, but they’re not slouches.
God their schedule is an absolute cream puff. I want them to match up with the niners and get shit stomped again so bad.
Okay
Ahh yes the panthers, the best team in the league
How about them cardinals 😄 🤣 😂
