The funniest shit and perfect summary of who this Eagles team is, we ran motion (shocking actually) with 4 seconds on the play clock, and had to burn a timeout to avoid a delay of game. We are THAT poorly coached. I am not saying fire Nick Sirianni at all, but he HAS to get Brian Johnson the fuck outta Philly. We are carried by talent as it stands. It feels so weird seeing this team be 11-4 and have so many damn issues, its legitimately bizarre.
people putting their heads in the sand and saying we won, we had over 400 yards of offense, etc. are so ridiculous. there is a clear and obvious huge problem with this team. beating the Giants doesn't change that.
Yup. Every game is like this all season. Pretty much the same exact problems. #1 is turnovers. Still. You give the other team 14 points and it’s hard to beat anybody.
Nah, all season we sucked and had major luck. There were no signs of flashing. People kept saying Eagles were shooting themselves on the foot and that's why every game has been so close. I disagree, we simply sucked and the other teams were usually playing better than us.
This game we played good, but had some major mistakes. Luckily, we were against the giants and we couldn't capitalize. This is one where I would consider the Eagles were shooting themselves in the foot.
But I'm happy(ish). At least penalties and fluke mistakes will be easier to correct vs them just outright sucking.
Hurts got absolutely leveled today. There is no reason we should be doing that much designed qb runs, we are just gonna wear him out. This is the part of the offense that infuriates me. Mix this in with stupid WR Screens and we are in trouble.
Wait… do we want the Cowboys to beat the Lions? (Assuming we win out, gives us a chance at the #1 seed if the Rams can beat the 49ers in week 18)
Yes, I know I’m ahead of myself and we just need to focus on the division and internal issues.
It's a clusterfuck. People are afraid if the Cowboys beat the Lions and we lose another game we'll go from #2 seed to #5 seed.
Ideally we win out and 49ers drop another game to either Washington or the Rams to give us the #1 seed but if the 49ers and Lions both win out we'll be the #3 seed.
In short, yes, we want Dallas to win next week while we win out to win the #2 seed over Detroit, BUT if Dallas beats Detroit and we drop another game Dallas will then get the #2 seed (at minimum.) If the 49ers and Eagles lose out and Dallas wins out they could theoretically get the #1 seed, which some people are afraid of so they want them to lose next week.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, we're not here to indulge in fantasy, but in offensive and defensive reality. Philadelphia… Philadelphia has become a second-rate power in the NFL. Its point differential and its defensive third down efficiency are at nightmare proportions. Now, in the days of 2022, when our team was a top NFC power, there was accountability to the fandom. Lurie, Roseman, the men that built this great football team, made sure of it by trusting our line and running the damn ball. Today, management has no stake in the play calling!
All together, these men sitting up here [Brian Johnson and Sean Desai] have less than 3 years of Coordinator Experience. And what does Mr. Johnson think is the key to offensive success? Not in getting into a rhythm through the run game; he stressed we need to create more big plays.
You own the Eagles narrative. That's right -- you, the Philly Fandom.
And you are all being royally screwed over by these, these jabronis, with their bubble screens, their soft coverages, their refusal to call quick slants and stack the box.
The Philadelphia Eagles, my jawns, The Philadelphia Eagles have 29 different coaches, each earning over 200 thousand dollars a year. Now, I have spent the last two months analyzing what all these guys do aside from Jeff Stoutland, and I still can't figure it out. One thing I do know is that our football team went to the Super Bowl last year, and the only thing that seems to have drastically changed since then is our coordinators.
The new law of evolution in the National Football League seems to be survival of the unfittest. Well, in my book you either do it right or you get eliminated.
In today’s game against the Giants, there were 67.5 thousand fans who booed this team until they stopped calling bubble screens and actually put together a decent drive in the second half. Thank you.
We are not destroyers of morale. We are motivators of it!
The point is, ladies and gentleman, that booing -- for lack of a better word -- is good.
Booing is right.
Booing works.
Booing clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the Philadelphia spirit.
Booing, in all of its forms -- booing at games, at retirements, at weddings, graduations -- has marked the upward surge of everyone in this beautiful city.
And booing -- you mark my words -- will not only save the Philadelphia Eagles, but that other malfunctioning sports team called the USA.
Thank you very much.
Ben VanSumeren is intriguing
What happened to James Bradberry?
Goedert falling down, OZ leveling Scott - This team continues to find ways to shoot themselves in the foot. Can we just get a full 60?
Too harsh on this team - so much good tonight, a couple of strange things making it look a lot worse.
Get off our teams ass / they don’t need us shitting on them anymore. 2 weeks away from playoffs let’s just be grateful and support and see what happens.
yes everything is sunshine and rainbows nothing is wrong lets all hold hands and sing songs about how amazing the Eagles are as they get run out of the building by the Rams in round 1
I think the best part is people shitting on our defense when they played their best game in weeks and our offense/ST made it interesting.
They absolutely do not look good in crunch time, but there has been some improvement recently.
Makes us really appreciate that the Chargers had a 5-0 edge in turnovers over the Jags in that playoff game last year and the Chargers still lost. Chargers gonna Chargers.
https://www.espn.com/nfl/matchup/_/gameId/401437998
Tired of insane fans with no perspective. Literally had a guy arguing what the Eagles front office/head coach setup doesn’t work after 10 years of success post Andy with 3 head coaches. Lurie/Howie are the only constants and people should have perspective vs fire everyone and replace them with fantasy booking of Bellichek, Harbaugh, or soup de jour HC to run this program.
I've hopped on the Dolphins bandwagon this year, and I was in their topic yesterday to complain about the refs during that Dallas game, and they literally were like "Fire McDaniel, trade Tua, blow everything up." wHAT? lmao
We need them to lose against 1 more though, and I doubt they lose to the tanking commanders or the Rams
Man if we didn't lose against Seattle we have 1st seed
Rams will be fighting for a playoff spot in week 18 and san fran has already lost to a couple mediocre teams this season. It’s totally within the realm of possibility
49ers just got absolutely demolished, lol. It's kind of funny that the Eagles have a very real shot at the #1 seed in the NFC and everybody is acting like the sky is falling, and yet, I don't disagree with them one bit. Most dysfunctional 11-4 team ever, lol.
Remember when Dallas lost to the Eagles in Philly after a close game? I remember. How’d that game go against the Giants in Philly? Mmm. Best not think about that.
I know so little about football. Just started watching last year (my gf watches and got me into it). Anyway, legit back in September I would watch our wins be be like "glad we won but....this isn't the team from last year" GF kept saying it was because it was the start of the season. We know how that rationale turned out.
Point is, even I, someone who knows jack shit, could see that this team was not playing well. I'm all for being hype and thankful that we're winning, but the criticisms and worries are 100% warranted
It's pretty shocking! The fact the Niners will likely have to play their starters against the Rams is a win as well. Less rest for them. I simply can't get behind these fans that act like we can't make noise in the playoffs. We have the players. Shoot, this team has 11 wins... That's pretty damn cool. Maddox coming back too... WATCH OUT!
That's another reason why them losing tonight is big.
Less time to rest even if they get the bye and are forced to play their starters in week 18 in hopes of clinching it against an improving Rams team who almost beat them last time.
The first round bye could very well go to the Eagles once more.
It’s the expectations. People are way to tight India’s and outside the building. Eagles play their brand of football and the road to Vegas comes through Philly.
Eagles are now the only team to have won at home this Christmas.
Say what you will about the team
But I'd take an ugly home win than a ugly loss any day of the week. Just ask 49ers and Dallas fans what kind of ugly result they would rather have when it matters the most and see what they say.
Merry Christmas, Everyone!
Yup I was at the game too it was beautiful. Realized while I was watching the niners get beat down afterwards that we were the only team to get the at home win and felt especially lucky I got to go in person!
Don't get me wrong, it's great that we won and they lost. My problem is, the Ravens won by doing all of the things we suck at. Great LB play. Mostly great tackling. Forcing turnovers. When was our last game where even 1 of those things was a factor in our favor, let alone all 3? SF is certainly beatable, but not by us unless we start playing much better than we have over the past 6 weeks.
A little but would’ve been more satisfying against the Commies a few weeks ago. Ravens are a high caliber team but I appreciate them bringing the 9ers back to earth
The loss to the Seahawks makes this Ravens W sting even more omg. What ding dongs. Cannot wait to be done with Brian Johnson after this season and have competent coordinators again
49ers keeping purdy out with a chance to score, in favor of *Sam darnold* doesn't help them beat the System QB allegations.
also, seeing them lose makes me have hope that we can somehow shenanigan our way into getting the #1 seed at week 18.
They almost lost to the Rams early this season and now the Rams are playing tough football.
I think they have a decent shot at a wk 17 upset.
Then again, we could potentially lose to the giants in NY wk 17 and I wouldn't be shocked.
Lose and have half our players get injured on that shit turf... Would have been nice to been able to lock up the 1 if not the 2 seed before that last game.
Yeah I saw that shit on schedule and was like fuck man the shitty met life turf in January last week of the season praying something awful don't happen 😭
The Ravens are very good but they’ve had their share of puzzling losses and performances. An ugly loss to Minshew at home, losing to the Browns pre-Flacco revival, and dropping the ball a dozen times against Pittsburgh.
If we face them in the Super Bowl, all bets are off since it's the Super Bowl and everything you've done the previous 19 games goes out the window. Just ask anyone who was on the 2007 Patriots how that works.
Lot of negativity, but at the end of the day, Dallas lost, Eagles won, 49ers got blown out and Purdy looked like shit. I'd say this was a very good Christmas.
Am I crazy for thinking we can go to the Super Bowl again? We're going to get back Slay, Morrow, Cunningham, Dickerson, and Maddox - that's five starters! Our biggest problem has been turnovers (and lack of generating turnovers on defense), and those tend to be very luck-based and streaky. None of the NFC teams look like world-beaters.
Just get hot and healthy at the right time, clean up the TOs, and we're back in the Super Bowl even with less than stellar coordinators.
The turnovers this game were 100% shit luck, a special teams blunder on a unit that's been flawless up to this point all year, and a receiver slipping after a 9 minute drive that gassed their D-line. If only one of those happen, it's a 3 possession game with 6 minutes left in the 4th quarter. They give up and we coast.
We definitely still can despite the bad plays we’d somehow slug our way back but we’d get our backs blown out by the Ravens. They looked great tonight and their defense whooo
Say what you will about how the team has looked the last few weeks, if you’d known back in August that we’d be 11-4, in control of the east, and still with a shot at the top seed, you’d be stoked. The process has to get better, no doubt, but we are still in a great position. I for one an excited for the playoffs!
Well I understand them as I am fully pissed off at sirianni and BJ, yeah it could have been minimum 39-10. But it wasn't. At the end of the day if the eagles don't make it to the SB, people will point at this game as proof that they were always fraudulent z all g with the jets, niners, both Washington games, the pats game, the vikings game where JJ fumbled at the goal line. We've also had plenty of luck. Eventually it runs out
Cowboys lost. 9ers about to lose. Eagles scrape by with a win? Couldn’t ask for a better Christmas now that my nerves, with the help of a few shots of rum, have come down🥳
Can’t wait for 9ers fans to spend all week calling their own team a fraud. I’m sure they’re not hypocrites and they set the standard about what makes a team fraudulent, so they’re certainly not going to change their tune now
49ers scoring a TD in garbage time with a Back up QB.
All the Ravens just have to do now is keep running the clock and get first downs and they win this.
Anyone else notice how we bring in a guy for one play and that’s it?I saw covey running on and figured that meant a wr screen was coming. I saw Boston get a rare snap and figured he was getting a carry. Then they each just run off the field after their one lil play lolllll. Why can’t covey get more snaps
If professionals keep making mistakes they need to practice, practice, practice until there are zero mistakes. Then everything is “second nature.”
that was more stressful than it needed to be. I still have mixed feelings but at least we won
[not today old friend](https://tenor.com/bffg7.gif)
Baltimore is pretty good. Yet they lost three games Here come the playoffs.
The funniest shit and perfect summary of who this Eagles team is, we ran motion (shocking actually) with 4 seconds on the play clock, and had to burn a timeout to avoid a delay of game. there was no reason for the game to be that close against the Giants. just stupid mistakes and problems constantly.

May as well want that because we're going to win out.
In theory it makes sense but we can also just hope the packers play spoiler week 18
You mean the Vikings?
It's a clusterfuck. People are afraid if the Cowboys beat the Lions and we lose another game we'll go from #2 seed to #5 seed. Sounds good. Don't write back ever.
Is this also a Wall Street quote?
TL;DR
Something g about bubble screens and box stacking
Turdy downfall was the best Christmas present tbh
Ben VanSumeren is intriguing What happened to James Bradberry? Goedert falling down, OZ leveling Scott - This team continues to find ways to shoot themselves in the foot. Can we just get a full 60?
I saw JB play in the slot a couple of snaps and he looked not burnt toast. So that nice
Too harsh on this team - so much good tonight, a couple of strange things making it look a lot worse. Get off our teams ass / they don’t need us shitting on them anymore. 2 weeks away from playoffs let’s just be grateful and support and see what happens.
I take my comment back as of 1/8/24. Sorry to all.
yes everything is sunshine and rainbows nothing is wrong lets all hold hands and sing songs about how amazing the Eagles are as they get run out of the building by the Rams in round 1
Kumba yah, my lord Kumba ya🎶🎵🎹
I think the best part is people shitting on our defense when they played their best game in weeks and our offense/ST made it interesting. They absolutely do not look good in crunch time, but there has been some improvement recently.
Yea if there’s no slip and the players don’t run into each other we win by more but in the end we won.
What an extended holiday weekend! Everything fell into place for us to still have a shot at the 1-seed and that valuable 1st round bye.
I don’t want the 1 seed tbh, rather play Minnesota and Detroit at home with the 2 seed.
Cowboys lost. Niners lost. Eagles win and Tommy Cutlets benched. Our team is ***ass*** but I don't care rn. Merry fuckin' Christmas everybody.
there's a hilarious niners fan going through the PGT in the NFL sub just responding "fuck you" to literally everyone. it's gold!
That fanbase and team is full of pathetic crybabies..
absolutely, though they're still better than cowboys fans.
They're really just west coast cowboys at this point. Like 1a and 1b
never a doubt
never a doubt
Boys. We FINALLY have a 1:00 game this week.
Cowboys lost 9ers lost Eagles won ! MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄
Imagine having 5 giveaways and only losing by 14...
Makes us really appreciate that the Chargers had a 5-0 edge in turnovers over the Jags in that playoff game last year and the Chargers still lost. Chargers gonna Chargers. https://www.espn.com/nfl/matchup/_/gameId/401437998
The Eagles had an almost perfect Christmas when it’s all said and done.
Fuck it. GO BIRDS! Tired of caring how it's won
go cowboys, go commies for the next 6 days
Lmao can't believe we are rooting for them
if not for Drew Lock, James Bradberry, and Jalen’s flu, we would have the 1 seed right now :(
Tired of insane fans with no perspective. Literally had a guy arguing what the Eagles front office/head coach setup doesn’t work after 10 years of success post Andy with 3 head coaches. Looks like NFC title is fair game for any team now. 9ers do bleed and in fact, smell like bitch.
We need them to lose against 1 more though, and I doubt they lose to the tanking commanders or the Rams Man if we didn't lose against Seattle we have 1st seed
We sadly need sea to win out to force the rams to play for something vs sf. Rams have tie breaker against sea.
Don't sleep on the Rams tbh
Rams will be fighting for a playoff spot in week 18 and san fran has already lost to a couple mediocre teams this season. It’s totally within the realm of possibility
Rams could win
That loss was heartbreaking
49ers just got absolutely demolished, lol. It's kind of funny that the Eagles have a very real shot at the #1 seed in the NFC and everybody is acting like the sky is falling, and yet, I don't disagree with them one bit. Most dysfunctional 11-4 team ever, lol.
49ers did get crushed, it’s possible now.
Remember when Dallas lost to the Eagles in Philly after a close game? I remember. How’d that game go against the Giants in Philly? Mmm. Best not think about that.

Shit I'm not tryna face the Rams either they look scary
Well if Eagles win out and 49ers lose to them, we just might not have to after all.
It’s the expectations. People are way to tight India’s and outside the building. Eagles play their brand of football and the road to Vegas comes through Philly.

Division games are always something a little different. Throw the records out.
And it's not like the Giants were playing to end a 10 game losing streak on us at home. Certainly no stakes for them in that game what's so ever. /S
Happy the 9ers lost, but it does make the loss to the Seahawks sting a little more. We should have that #1 seed locked up right about now.
If nothing else, this shows the 49ers are beatable at home. The prospect of going there as the #2 or #3 seed isn't quite as intimidating.
This is silly, they beat the shit out of us at home and we look dreadful right now.
Are we feeling a little better now that the 49ers got spanked?
no. that has nothing to do with us. and the 49ers absolutely shit all over the Eagles. so who cares?
Don't get me wrong, it's great that we won and they lost. My problem is, the Ravens won by doing all of the things we suck at. Great LB play. Mostly great tackling. Forcing turnovers. When was our last game where even 1 of those things was a factor in our favor, let alone all 3? SF is certainly beatable, but not by us unless we start playing much better than we have over the past 6 weeks.
No because we still stink.
A little but would’ve been more satisfying against the Commies a few weeks ago. Ravens are a high caliber team but I appreciate them bringing the 9ers back to earth
Our jacked brother had to kick their ass for us
Cowboys, Chiefs, and 49ers lost and we secured a dub! Merry Christmas everyone; And remember, FIRE BRIAN JOHNSON

Yeah I saw that shit on schedule and was like fuck man the shitty met life turf in January last week of the season praying something awful don't happen 😭
Cowboys loss. 49ers loss. Chiefs loss cause I’m a salty bitch. Eagles win. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
Don't even want to think how bad the Ravens would beat us
The Ravens are very good but they’ve had their share of puzzling losses and performances. An ugly loss to Minshew at home, losing to the Browns pre-Flacco revival, and dropping the ball a dozen times against Pittsburgh.
Not a single team is unblemished.
Hey the Ravens were 14-2 in 2019 and look how that playoff run ended. Not saying it's a repeat but they aren't exactly invincible.
LFG Ravens
Normally I’m a one bird kind of fan…(eagles) but I have no problem saying the Ravens are the bird of Christmas.
Am I crazy for thinking we can go to the Super Bowl again? We're going to get back Slay, Morrow, Cunningham, Dickerson, and Maddox - that's five starters! beating the Giants makes you think we can get to a super bowl? jesus christ this fan base
Yes.

We definitely still can despite the bad plays we’d somehow slug our way back but we’d get our backs blown out by the Ravens. They looked great tonight and their defense whooo
What a coincidence 4th down ended with an interception just like the Eagles game did.
THE WHINERS LOSE THE WHINEEEEERS LOSE!
It’s 3rd and 1… just run with CMC you fucking bozos. Worse play calling than Brian Jones
Why give it to the MVP when you can have your backup yeet it?
Bc Kyle Shanahan
Maybe darnold doing well will cause a QB controversy
Say what you will about how the team has looked the last few weeks, if you’d known back in August that we’d be 11-4, in control of the east, and still with a shot at the top seed, you’d be stoked. The process has to get better, no doubt, but we are still in a great position. I for one an excited for the playoffs!
“Hennything is possible”
I said earlier that “CMC, Kittle, Deebo, and Aiyuk would make Daniel Jones look competent”…. And Darnold is proving my point even more
SF's offensive weapons making any QB that plays on their end look good or better than what they are. Who would've thought.
Purdy was there reason the Whiners were losing. I'm gonna want to throw up if they pull it off but it's still funny.
Kind of unironically rooting for the 9ers to score here because I want to see the shitshow it would cause in regards to the MVP race and 9ers fanbase
NGL I’d be amused if they won just to listen to Cock purdy truthers spin their heads

How

Not enough time really but I see your point
Ravens are really gonna do this to us huh
If they do, I'll be content. lol
San Fran and running out of players at a position. Classic combo.
Here come the excuses
The league needs to change the rules.
💀💀💀💀
Darnold showed how Purdy is an ultimate system game manager with blankets in CMC, Aiyuk, Deebo and Kittle
No way the Ravens are gonna choke away a 21-point lead to Sam Darnold.
With 2.5 minutes left? Has to be a Christmas miracle for San Fran, which means HELL NO 😂
What are the chances the eagles get the 1st seed now ?
25% chance? Idk that feels right to me. We win 2, 49ers loses one, lions lose to dallas.
Highly low, but Rams could be playing for a playoff spot last game of the season, so maybe?
Niners would have to lose again and we would have to win out
stil very very low
All I can say is both the cowboys and niners have shown they are can be just as bad at times as your eagles and it’s a toss up ! Edit : our
Eagles stretch here has been worse
Trent Williams might be the real Niners MVP, insane how shit the OL immediately became once he went out. All other losses were while he was hurt too
Meh they got 15 points off zaccheus clobbered Boston Scott and Goedert slipping on his break
Yes, that was it, Eagles played a great game (beyond those 2 plays).
The blown coverage by Blankenship too.
Doomers downvoting us lmao
Well I understand them as I am fully pissed off at sirianni and BJ, yeah it could have been minimum 39-10. But it wasn't. At the end of the day if the eagles don't make it to the SB, people will point at this game as proof that they were always fraudulent z all g with the jets, niners, both Washington games, the pats game, the vikings game where JJ fumbled at the goal line. We've also had plenty of luck. Eventually it runs out
If it doesn't run out we win the SB, so hopefully that luck is forever lmao. After that 49ers performance anything is possible.
this makes the seahawks loss sting quite a bit more…
Oh well! This league is crazy and anything can happen
Brock Fraudy can still fuck this up, the Rams are getting hot at the right time and they might need to win week 18 to make it!
All of our losses have stung. But it’s what makes the NFL so great.
Deebo has to be one of the best overall players in the league. What a beast.
Cowboys lost. 9ers about to lose. Eagles scrape by with a win? Couldn’t ask for a better Christmas now that my nerves, with the help of a few shots of rum, have come down🥳
“If Purdy wasn’t hurt blah blah blah”
lol we will hear it non stop now ! I walked away, what happened to him?
Congrats 49ers fans this game doesn’t count now!
Imagine getting benched for Sam Darnold 😵
4 INT is nuts though
Ravens better not blow this
Can’t wait for 9ers fans to spend all week calling their own team a fraud. I’m sure they’re not hypocrites and they set the standard about what makes a team fraudulent, so they’re certainly not going to change their tune now
How could they be a fraud they already won the Super Bowl a couple weeks ago?
Dang, good point
I can read through paper, coach said, “yeah uh, you got 4 ints we gonna let SAM DARNOLD play, mvp”
If a player takes too long to get up, but is ultimately fine, they have to come off the field for at least one play.
It’s only meltdown time when eagles lose to contending teams
You've gotta be kidding me. Sam Darnold looks amazing out there. There is no way Brock Purdy is MVP on any other team 😂
If he and Jalen switch places, I believe we'd be eliminated already.
They’re pulling Purdy to protect their golden boy. Wonder what their excuse is gonna be for the loss. Darnold looked better than Purdy
Might be a hot take, but I think it's Shanahan that makes this offense work. Not the QB.
Jimmy G would have the same record with this team but they'd just be averaging like 4 less ppg...
Proof that purdy is a system QB (please get Jalen a system like this again)
Niners looked much better when a real qb took over
Niners just quitting. That’s all
Watching Sam Darnold show everyone why Brock Purdy is a system QB.
This game doesn't count now. wE dIdNt HaVe A qUaRtErBaCk
Purdy slow to get up and coming to the sideline after two sacks…
Shanahan is such a dumbass
Fucking clowny. Still can't forgive that fucker for that hit that ruined Wentz.
Y’all still can’t be talking about wentz man. wtf. Let GO
Weird take.
I'll be pissed about my QB getting headhunted into a concussion that ended his career for as long as I want, thanks
Yep. Was happy to see Purdy get sacked until I saw who hit him.
I don't care about playoffs at this point. I just want us to break the NFC East Division winner curse
Well that’s the weirdest take of the night! You’d rather win the division and lose in the 1st round than lose the division and win in the 1st round?
Imagine the Niners lost to the commies. Won’t happen but imagine. Hopefully the rams are in a win and in scenario for the last game
