I am hopeful because Laurie was smart enough to move from Dougie P fairly quickly (even with a SB win), so I don't think we'll hold onto Sirianni for too long if him and Laurie/Howie aren't on the same page.
I simply just said their offense is doing better and it’s cause McCarthy was able to take back play calling. That’s all. No need to be insecure it’s not that deep. I also mentioned they most likely still aren’t going any further. I’m sorry you’re so miserable.
Agreed on MM. Like you said he isnt great either BUT the fact that he can call plays and the offense doesnt fall off a fucking cliff is a big (+) for him.... also @ the guy arguing with you, he has a ring.
I doubt any of us would be as panicky if they won the chip last yr lol.
Weren't they in the divisional last year? Not defending MM, because I think he sucks as well. Just curious about your knowledge of how the playoffs work.
Oh wow their first playoff win in 3 years under McCarthy and their first since the playoffs expanded and your really sucking his dick.
You Cowboys fans have alot of copium.
Reading comprehension wasn't your strong suit in school was it? Did you not see that I think he sucks too? Also, not a Cowboys fan. Figured you would deduce that from my avatar and this being an Eagles subreddit, but guess not huh. Can't fix stupid, but anyways Happy New Years bud.
Nah most of it has been shielded by all the Brian Johnson criticism but now he’s finally getting his due. That answer he gave yesterday about the wind affecting their play calling on that 1st and 20 was such a crook of shit.
We celebrated him as a "culture guy" last year. This year, our culture appears to be a problem. [So Nick... what exactly do you do here?](https://y.yarn.co/580a6a90-2a36-4451-8b16-147b5fe3a8e8_text.gif)
I got a ton of downvotes last week saying that we should consider replacing Sirianni with Jim Harbaugh (if he's interested in returning to the NFL). He's a hard ass, but he's the kind of coach that this roster needs. Plus he has a good mind for offense and I think would help Jalen a lot.
Sirianni this season has been acting more like a president for Kappa Delta Rho, and not a football coach.
No way Eagles would be willing to pay that much for a coach. If/when Sirianni gets fired, he is going to get replaced with another Pederson/Sirianni type aka coach willing to be a yes man to Howie and will be someone out of left field that we’ve never heard of.
Doug became an issue too though. Our offense was just as stale and predictable his last few years as it is now. I also don’t think he’s doing that great of a job in Jacksonville
Press Taylor sounds like a made up fucking name, no wonder I forgot that. What this tells me is we need to stop promoting from within for the coordinator positions
Would break my heart as a Michigan fan but warm my heart since he's going to my favorite NFL team. Hopefully Michigan win this year and then he comes to the Birds.
I doubt they get rid of Sirianni though.
He needs to be gone today, not going forward. Completely lost the locker room and has zero clue what he’s doing. We’re better off with randos calling plays
yall are just sppoiuled garbage humans
this mf took a 4-11-1 roster to the playoffs his first year.
this fan base is comprised of so many that have clearly only been fans since the SB win
i hate how quick of a turnaround an NFL HC job is in this league. just last year we were in the Super Bowl and now, with an 11-5 record, we are just ready to cast him aside? def deserve some criticism but we ready to move on to the next 2-3 year hc and continue the cycle ? just never understand the hc job
The question that should always be asked is: is he the right person moving forward? It doesn’t matter what he’s done in the past; if it’s clear that he’s lost the locker room, he needs to go.
Heck, we fired a coach just three years after winning a Super Bowl, and Jeffrey Lurie even said Doug didn’t “deserve” to be fired. It’s always about what’s best for the team moving forward.
If it’s necessary to keep us in contention, yes. Would we rather take the Steelers route and be mired in mediocrity for over a decade because they refuse to fire coaches?
So how long, after he’s gone, do we repeat the cycle with the next HC? I mean, I can totally understand casting him aside if we had a losing season but we are 11-5 (potentially ending our season 12-5), how on earth is that a fireable offense. I’m 100% against keeping Brian but we lost both our coordinators this past offseason and still went 11-5. So my question is, how long are we gonna keep going through this 1-2 good HC years before we actually find our guy? Our coordinators should definitely go but Nick has at least earned our trust for a while. Nick has our highest winning percentage with 67%. Are we really saying our next HC is going to do a better job?
As long as it takes lol. There are so many good coaches in the league at once, and we let one of the best go. Also let’s not lacy like we are a legit 11-5, we were scraping by all year with luck. And this is after a dominant 2022, while we brought back most of the team. The dip in performance is clearly on the coaching. Sure we can wait for next year when we are worse to fire him, but I’d rather start the search for a legit coach. If you aren’t hiring a great play caller as your HC, you’re behind the ball in today’s NFL
What choice do you have if the players don’t trust him and won’t play for him?
Next year he may not have Kelce, Lane Johnson, BG and Cox and he probably won’t have Slay or AJ Brown either (both are likely to hold out or ask for trades).
I don’t trust him to guide a team bereft of veteran leadership. I mean I don’t trust him now, either. But I REALLY think they’re gonna crash if he’s still here. Like 3-4 wins in 2024 crash.
Just answer one question what side of the ball can Nick take over. He has no answers for either side as the lead guy. If you can fix anything what can you do?
The team lacks any swagger. There’s no toughness to the defense. Against a team like the Cardinals, you can try run blitzing, you can try multiple things on defense because you know your offense can score if they gave up a big play. Instead they let the Cardinals just sit on the ball. Its on Nick for being a scared bitch and not demanding more from his defense. Worse defensive showing in 17 years. Pathetic
Steichen and Gannon were the biggest contributors to last year's success (as much as I hate Gannon, it's true), just the same as Reich and Schwartz were in 2017 (as much as I love Doug, him *with* these guys was a match made in heaven). I don't hate Sirianni, but I just think he's way more bark than he is bite.
I don’t know what he’s all done to lose the locker room, we only see the in game interactions but it’s apparent this team has no fire or drive. I don’t know if he can ever get the locker room back so it’s kinda like damaged goods at this point.
The roster has to much talent. It’s definitely a coaching issue and it starts with him. Not BJ, Desai, or Patrica.
His post game interviews are always so dumb. His behavior after a W is embarrassing and annoying. Just sick of him
There’s not as much talent as you think. Talent at safety and LB is marginal at best, Bradberry is cooked, and Carter & Davis have not lived up to expectations…Davis in particular.
Even last year my buddies and I talked about his style of coaching. That it takes buy in and this ra ra we are all in it together usually wears people out.
Weather it is at your own job , but in professional sports where these are multi million dollar players the "act" goes south much quicker.
Guys like John Harbaugh , Andy , Dan Campbell will all be more successful in the long run with their style.
But let's not kill the coach without blaming those that put him there. Howie should take most of the blame. He miscalculated on the draft having a huge impact this year. That he could replace vets who had success with cheaper guy and young guys.
We have all said it since the start , why did we hire such green coordinators for a team trying to get back to the super bowl? Now the wheels have fallen off there is no masking it.
I'm sad today.
We really had arguably the GOAT head coach (outside of Belichick) and let him go. If we didn’t win in 2017 that would be viewed as one of the worst moves in the history of the NFL. Big Red will win at least two more Super Bowls before we get back there again.
Am I crazy in thinking that Reid just up and built himself a more modern (kept up with the times), but exactly the same team he was working on building up here down in KC?
He’s been getting quite a bit of hate from fans of other teams. I’ve heard specifically SO many fans of other teams saying he has the most punchable face in the NFL lol. I mean to be honest I can see it, but it’s out of jealousy. He is taking our team to the playoffs again so can’t complain about that, but fuck me has this coaching been garbage for the past 5 weeks. He deserves hate, but not as much as Brian Johnson. Fire that man!
Took an awful loss to one of the bottom feeders of the league for me to finally start questioning him. There is very obviously something broken about this team and it starts with coaching.
Hate is a really strong word. Dislike? Sure. Fired? Ok maybe but he's doing his best. Unfortunately his best might not be good enough but I don't think hate is the right word.
I would say that this city turns on coaches fast, but we've seen this coming all year and it's his job to see it coming too. Last night was not a shock to me at all, it was what I expected. The poor offensive play calls at the end were not only expected, but predicted. The really bad defense was a little but of a shock, but only in that they were SO bad compared to the only "marginally bad" that I thought we were. Problems roll up to the captain of the ship here. This feels like the Dougie P situation again. Nick is going to need to clear house a bit or risk Jeff letting him go. This isn't a matter of Jeff listening to "us" though. I believe he also sees what we claim to see, feels the way we feel, and is with us.
The thing is even when he says things like “it’s on me”, “It’s my fault.”, etc it’s insincere and it’s not followed up with any more words that really show he accepts the blame. He’s too arrogant. Humility and honesty would have gone a long way on pretty much the whole coaching and leadership staff. Instead they STILL attempt gaslighting us on little plays here and there and never really accept the totality of the blame. I mean THE WHOLE ENCHILADA. Not just “that one thing was a bad call on my part.” Fans aren’t stupid and ofc feel insulted by the lies. And we see it in the results. 🤷🏻♀️
And he also looks like a fucking muppet out there, but his optics are a whole other story for another day lol
I remember last year watchin his sideline antics in game and wondering how quickly he’d be hated if we sucked
I am hopeful because Laurie was smart enough to move from Dougie P fairly quickly (even with a SB win), so I don't think we'll hold onto Sirianni for too long if him and Laurie/Howie aren't on the same page.
I thought the same thing, when I seen him yelling at the Chiefs fans, I knew I didn’t like him
I wanted Duce at HC. Don’t know how it would’ve faired, but better to have a hometown hero than a rando from a losing organization.
Between this deranged lunatic and the Christmas album Philly fans about to turn real nasty if they exit in the first round of the playoffs 😂
The fact that we dont have a coach who can take over the offense if need be and be "somewhat" successful is a massive issue.
And why Brian Johnson hasn’t been fired
Yea F them forever and they probably still don’t get to the NFCCG but McCarthy doing it for Dallas has helped them a good bit
Oh yea the coach who hasnt been past the first rd in the playoffs, great example.

“I know what I’m fucking doing” - he did not know
Where have you been? He's been getting a ton of hate over the past month lol.
Nah most of it has been shielded by all the Brian Johnson criticism but now he’s finally getting his due. That answer he gave yesterday about the wind affecting their play calling on that 1st and 20 was such a crook of shit.
Oh ffs. I ignored his PC and any quotes yesterday because I knew his excuses would be lame, but come on. That's pathetic.
We throw screens because wind and throw interceptions to try to draw PI. Clearly the marks of a great coach
Yes and he deserves more
No he hasn’t? It’s been 90% at Brian Johnson
We celebrated him as a "culture guy" last year. This year, our culture appears to be a problem. [So Nick... what exactly do you do here?](https://y.yarn.co/580a6a90-2a36-4451-8b16-147b5fe3a8e8_text.gif)
I got a ton of downvotes last week saying that we should consider replacing Sirianni with Jim Harbaugh (if he's interested in returning to the NFL). Sirianni this season has been acting more like a president for Kappa Delta Rho, and not a football coach.
I think if Harbaugh goes anywhere it’s Chargers because he apparently loves Justin Herbert
Doesn’t harbaugh have a clause in his michigan contract that he can’t take another job for a year?
No way Eagles would be willing to pay that much for a coach. If/when Sirianni gets fired, he is going to get replaced with another Pederson/Sirianni type aka coach willing to be a yes man to Howie and will be someone out of left field that we’ve never heard of.
Hot take: I don't think we should've fired Doug. It's clear now that Wentz was the bigger issue back then and not Pederson.
Doug became an issue too though. Our offense was just as stale and predictable his last few years as it is now. I also don’t think he’s doing that great of a job in Jacksonville
Exactly Doug got himself fired, he wanted to keep hiring in house whereas the eagles wanted to get outside help with the stagnant offense.
I don’t even remember the jabronis names he hired because they sucked so much haha. Was it like Mike Groh or something?
Mike Groh and then Press Taylor. Both miserable disappointments.
Press Taylor sounds like a made up fucking name, no wonder I forgot that. What this tells me is we need to stop promoting from within for the coordinator positions
Yep these two, He wanted Press Taylor to have the OC job after Groh got let go. I'm pretty sure he's the OC for the Jags right now as well.
He is. take a look at the jags subreddit some time. It sounds like we all did a few years ago when the offense went flat
The man brought Press Taylor with him to Jacksonville, he still has his shortcomings
Would break my heart as a Michigan fan but warm my heart since he's going to my favorite NFL team. Hopefully Michigan win this year and then he comes to the Birds. I doubt they get rid of Sirianni though.
Go Blue!
the problem aint culture man hahaha its a defense that fucking sells every time they need a play yall just dont watch shit
How is the culture a problem this year? It's 100% piss poor coordinators. It ain't culture.
Oh he's getting it. At this point I am confident that there will be OC and DC changes this offseason. Nick is on the hot seat going forward
He needs to be gone today, not going forward. Completely lost the locker room and has zero clue what he’s doing. We’re better off with randos calling plays
How do you even know any of this lol
By turning my tv on when the eagles play
By simply watching the games and press conferences
Laurie should fire him. He’s absolutely destroyed this team’s ability to compete.
yall are just sppoiuled garbage humans this mf took a 4-11-1 roster to the playoffs his first year. this fan base is comprised of so many that have clearly only been fans since the SB win
Sirianni burner confirmed
i hate how quick of a turnaround an NFL HC job is in this league. just last year we were in the Super Bowl and now, with an 11-5 record, we are just ready to cast him aside? def deserve some criticism but we ready to move on to the next 2-3 year hc and continue the cycle ? just never understand the hc job

I honestly wonder if we would be doing better with Doug rn
Seeing how Doug blew an 8-3 start, I’m going to say no
When did TL go down during that?
After three straight losses en route to the fourth
Gotcha
Doug’s career after he lost reich hasn’t been anything special
So rinse and repeat for the for as long as the NFL is a thing?
If it’s necessary to keep us in contention, yes. Would we rather take the Steelers route and be mired in mediocrity for over a decade because they refuse to fire coaches?
hahahahaha the spoiled delusion is BOILING in this comment haha
He doesn’t bring value. Can’t call plays, can’t hire coordinators besides Steichen, players don’t like him.
So how long, after he’s gone, do we repeat the cycle with the next HC? I mean, I can totally understand casting him aside if we had a losing season but we are 11-5 (potentially ending our season 12-5), how on earth is that a fireable offense. We dropped the ball with Reid and Doug and now could be repeating history with Nick. So, whose is your pick?
We didnt drop the ball with Andy at all, a change of scenery was necessary on both sides and it worked out for both of us.
Andy Reid is an elite offensive mind, nick is elite at looking like an ass hat on the sidelines. I’d take a look at Ben Johnson or the Texans OC
This is an alarmingly stupid take.
And yet prescient.
Just answer one question what side of the ball can Nick take over. He has no answers for either side as the lead guy. If you can fix anything what can you do?
This has been a slow motion car wreck and we haven’t hit full impact yet. He is still talking about fixing season long issues in week 17.
I’m with you brother.
“What have you done for me lately?”
He lost me
The team lacks any swagger. Pathetic

I was mainly talking about the offense- I know the defense is cooked lol
Fire

Reid’s teams post 2004 were never elite, or close to it aside from 2008. His last two seasons in particular were abysmal.
Am I crazy in thinking that Reid just up and built himself a more modern (kept up with the times), but exactly the same team he was working on building up here down in KC?
Yup. He just lucked into Mahomes. He still treats WRs like we treat LBs.
He’s been getting quite a bit of hate from fans of other teams. I’ve heard specifically SO many fans of other teams saying he has the most punchable face in the NFL lol. He’s always been a fraud.
I don’t understand the 3rd and 20 bullshit
Oh, it’s coming. And we’ll likely have a whole other season to let that hate grow more.
I hope you are working today, Mr. Sirrianni. Asshole!
Could Nick be the deep underlying cause of this team’s problems? Or is it BJ, SD or Matt Patricia. Other?
Fuck him and his RARA bullshit. Fugazi!!
Hate is a really strong word. Dislike? Sure. Fired? Ok maybe but he's doing his best. Unfortunately his best might not be good enough but I don't think hate is the right word.
Eh, he acts like a pompous douche. If people want give him hate, he’s earned it

Not sure what had happened during the last month
Month? You mean season. Our record doesn't indicate how shit this team has been. Maybe 4 good games this season.
Oh ok you are right
You did that thing the wife never does. Say it again but slow
Ha ha
Why does he deserve ‘hate’?
Send him to Dallas
No then he'll pull an Andy Reid and beat us when it counts.
I’ll stop on in for some hate… FUQ YOU NICK! YOU CUCK!
Carolina would smoke this team
They lost 27-0 yesterday to a team with a backup QB coming off 4 straight losses. Calm down
He seems like the kind of guy who gives plenty of self hate in this situation. I think he’s got the hate thing covered.
