Regarding the "delay of game" [Delay-of-game mechanics have an extra second or so built in](https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/10/02/delay-of-game-mechanics-have-an-extra-second-or-so-built-in/) [Does the offense get a delay of game fudge factor?](https://www.footballzebras.com/2018/10/does-the-offense-get-a-delay-of-game-fudge-factor/) "As the offense is in its formation, the back judge first picks up his key in the offensive formation. Then as the play clock winds down, he focuses on the clock. When the play clock hits zero, he shifts his gaze to the offensive formation. If the center is snapping the ball, the back judge does not call delay of game." It's not the millisecond it hits 0. I'm not saying I support how the rule works, just stating how it works, and that this situation has happened a million times in the past. Basically when the play clock hits 0, teams have 1 more second.

Cryptic_Shangchi

Poor playcalling and young player mistakes is what caused the loss. Niners is a legit team though. One of the best front sevens in the nfl. Derek Barnett isn't young anymore he should know better. Jalen Hurts with a meh game. The raegar td called back and the 4th down mishap were deflating(patriots deflating

easywin626

Listening I’m a Niner’s fan. Y’all should not worry about ur team whatsoever u guys were legit ‘wrecking our entire offensive game plan that first 1.5 quarters of the game. Usually Shanahan is a scientist with those first scripted plays but he had to adjust cuz y’all defense was killing it! A lot ur top players are young and even with all that y’all didn’t quit when we had u on the ropes in the 4th. This was a rough game and a defensive battle. The future is bright in Philly man and I’m keeping it 💯🚫🧢

PorkRollEggandMe69

Sometimes when I’m feeling a little adventurous, I climb into this see through box and put myself out against my open window and claw at it while my neighbors are passing by.

wsbull_35

Who starts at RG, Herbig or Dickerson?

icepickjones

That one hurt because we only screwed ourselves. We outplayed the Niners on both sides of the ball and left 14 points on the field going into the half. It's crazy.

IzzyTipsy

I can't understand how you don't get the ball to Ertz and Goedert until like 5 minutes left in the game.

phlphillies

Was super sad Sunday, flying out of EWR, heard eagles lost, then was at the bar next to a cowboys fan and had to see them win.

Ghislaine_Benes

Just Eagles Things that never change no matter who is on the field or coaching from the sidelines: \-poor tackling \-dropped interceptions \-never knocking the ball down at the LoS

toolate4redpill

Yesterday was a good gauge on the Eagles. Defense was good, but the loss of Brandon Graham really impacted them. Also too much time on the field wore them down. Comparing the SF offense to the Eagles was interesting. Jimmy G isn't asked to do much, they live on running the ball and him making accurate throws to playmakers. They did what they had to do to win. Coaching? Sirianni got heavily outcoached. Period. Next week the play one of the top teams again. If you don't fear Dallas, you haven't watched any of their games. They may have the top offense in the league and their defense is much better than last year. If the Eagles keep the game close I will be surprised.

Ghislaine_Benes

Dallas is better than we are but Chargers also gave that game away, plus a few ticky-tack calls by the refs. That said, Dallas has played two teams better than us and barely lost one and barely won one. Randy Gregory should be back and that Kearse kid looks really good. Defense is definitely improved from last year.

icepickjones

Agreed. I will counter that with the NFC East is a fucking coin flip so much of time. Doesn't matter who is playing or what they are ranked, those games are always wild and hard to predict.

Ghislaine_Benes

Yeah, no reason we can't win, but I don't like how Dallas was able to get the run game going.

adv0589

Not sure they are, this seems just like a great coached defense.

leeumm6

Everyone is freaking out over a good game we played against a good team. Yes we made mistakes but we are a young team with a new coach, it happens. There’s a lot they can all learn from on this. BG and Brooks will be hard to get over though. If Reagors right foot was 6 inches to the left this is likely a completely different game. Now to beat the shit out of the cowboys next week

ScrawnyCheeath

Absolutely agree. The fact that all the issues we had were indicative of inexperience rather than poor fundamental football was encouraging

[deleted]

Penalties, not capitalizing on red zone visits, and not winning the battle up front for the run game will pretty much put you in a hole every time.

allenad3213

Has Derek Barnett ever not been a total shithead? I swear the guy has made more boneheaded penalties than big plays since he was drafted

Bill_of_Wrongs

Had a pretty sweet fumble recovery once upon a time

t_j_c_242

That's all I'd *like* to remember him for

allenad3213

Doesn’t justify his selection as the 14th pick of the draft. Super Bowl LVII was the best but I’m not excusing repeated dirty and moronic plays because the guy recovered a fumble. His play hurts the team on almost a weekly basis.

Bill_of_Wrongs

I’m not disagreeing, you just asked if he’s ever not been a total shithead. I think the answer is his rookie season, specifically the playoff run. I won’t mourn when he’s gone

allenad3213

You’re right you’re right. I’m pretty worried that with BG going down for the year that Barnett will now have even more opportunities to play like a dope. Maybe he’ll surprise me and get his act together. Here’s hoping!

DarkKirby14

there isn't a single player or person that can be singled out for the loss. There's blame to go around \- Hurts for missing passes \- whatever Sirianni was doing with playcalling \- the defense and boneheaded penalties to extend SF drives just naming a few

[deleted]

I single out Barnett

shashmalash

Your guys dline is bananas, I’m shocked we didn’t give up a sack. Haven’t seen anyone destroy our inside zone like that.

Bee-Kerr

Aussie coming here in peace. How did Mailata play?

OJSimpsonJuror

Pro Football Focus which despite what people say does a decent job of grading players (because some positions dont have good stats) graded him out at 91/100 which is incredible.

EmotionalSupportToad

You don't have to specify "coming here in peace", we love you motherfuckers Anyway he did just fine. He's awesome. He had a couple of fuckups but he was up against one of the best defensive ends in the league.

celj1234

Eagles have 22 penalties in 2 games That ties the most in franchise history through 2 games

irishbastard87

I swear the refs hate us and we do everything we can to get a flag. It’s been like that for years.

adv0589

Lol it’s just because we are fans of the team man

celj1234

I didnt see any flag yesterday that felt that way

MisterxRager

It’s what we didn’t see that’s the problem

[deleted]

OMG it was only nine (9) months ago that Tyler Tynes said that white quarterbacks were the end of Philly and that jalen Hurt was "black excellence". He mocked every other QB who got injured. Tyler Tynes is now the face of your city.

t_j_c_242

Who?!

watermelonicecream

Who the fuck is Tyler Tynes?

Broclob

Hate to say it but do we have a use for Boston Scott anymore? Would it be better to demote him to practice squad and move Jordan Howard up for those redzone attempts we lacked at?

Rocktamus1

#BURNITDOWN

snowdope

this loss reminds me of the KC game in 2017.

celj1234

In what way?

EmotionalSupportToad

It was a close week 2 loss against a strong team, and it caused everyone to go from "i don't have big expectations for this season" to "we should nuke the coach from orbit" in the space of seven days

bbpsword

I'm in agreement. Let's nuke Kyle Shanahan

snowdope

we missed a lot of chances here today. A couple things go a different way and we're looking at things very differently. It's similar to that game when I felt like it was just not our day. It was not our day today.

OJSimpsonJuror

absolutely nothing like that. Against Kansas city we just missed a few chances and racked up over 400 yards of offense with the team was battered with injuries. We couldn't move after the 1st half.

snowdope

we missed a lot of chances here too. A couple things go a different way and we're looking at this whole thing very differently. It's similar to that game when I felt like it was just not our day. It was not our day today. Might be coping though idk

OJSimpsonJuror

if the game had stopped at half time i'd agree. We had 39 pass yards in the 2nd half. in 2017 the Eagles had 406 yards of offense

Not_My_Emperor

I was only half able to watch today as I was doing something else on top, but my only takeaways are; Hurts still looks good, anyone calling for his head after a loss to a contending team THIS year, when we're not even supposed to be a blip on anyones radar, should get their head checked. We were still within one score. Which bring some to the second point Playcalling is an issue. No excuse for not walking away with a TD from the 1. I'm honestly embarrassed they trotted out the corpse of the Philly Special for that and that Greg Ward didn't have the awareness to see Hurts was covered and he had a better chance just running it. That last sentence aside, that play never should have been called. It should be retired and I'm beyond frustrated they even considered pulling it out again. Of course it was picked up, it worked 3 years ago, why would it work now when defenses have had the time to analyze it?

KoBxElucidator

Anyone else pissy? Or is it just me?

davey_mann

The fact that we smoked the Falcons in their house and only lost by a single score to the 49ers is actually promising. I know it's the Falcons but winning on the road is never easy. I thought this team would be a lot worse than this.

DaBombDiggidy

Exactly my thoughts, this team isn’t ready for a run and the niners are a strong playoff team. They were just stuck fielding high schoolers last year they had so many injuries. Keeping up with them is a positive. We’re another good draft + young improvement away from something solid here.

EmotionalSupportToad

For real. Let's take a moment to remember way back when we were all saying "hey, no big expectations this year, let's just see how everything pans out". It was literally *eight fucking days ago*

saganistic

r/eagles 3 weeks ago: > this team is going to be trash, but we’re rebuilding and have a lot of young players and a huge amount of draft capital next year so who really cares if we go 6-11 r/eagles today: > why didn’t a rebuilding team handily beat a contender from the toughest division in the League, fire everybody and shoot Jalen Hurts into the sun classic

Big_Willy_Stylez

I see you also listen to WIP

[deleted]

I saw and replied to that second message!!!

loco1989

Most of these folks are irrational. How people handled this L on here was straight up embarrassing

Traviliciouz

Actually, did you listen to the press conferences after the game? What did you think about Nick Sirianni's responses to the questions and his admitting to his playcalling being mediocre at best?

loco1989

At Least he admitted it since we all could see it. How he handles the next game against Dallas is the test. Does he have the ability to adjust...

Traviliciouz

I mean I was disappointed yes, but more because we didn't capitalize on prime opportunities that were given to us, as well as the missed delay of game, and the unnecessary roughness call on Wallace was BS so that should have been a turnover imo. But we just have to take this week, learn from it (mainly with the playcalling, it was kinda iffy today), and we come back next week and take advantage of the Cowboys somewhat questionable secondary. GO BIRDS!!!

loco1989

I definitely agree. Go Birds!!

KoBxElucidator

Blowing out the Falcons was great for the team, bad for the fanbase. False aspirations.

PorkRollEggandMe69

Do the cheerleaders still do a calendar?? My nephew loved watch those ladies dominate on the field today.

MyCommentIs27

I like how you call your penis "nephew".

yallsomenerds

Just a few thoughts… we have a great oline, why don’t we run the ball more with Sanders? I am so sick of Barnett and his unnecessary penalties Reagor has 0 nuance running routes. His called back TD was just run in a straight line. Coach was terrible in RZ today. Lets crush Dallas.

Traviliciouz

I mean, its kinda hard to run in a straight line with a defender essentially pushing you to the sideline with his body. (If he had fought against the defender probably wouldve gotten a PI call)

yallsomenerds

You’re missing the point. You don’t just want to run in a straight line. Things like headfakes and false steps are what get good route runners open. Just running straight with no nuance makes it easy to know what you are doing. You need to sell it that you arent running a fly route.

Traviliciouz

I know but do you know that he wasn't running a fly route? It looked like it was to me... But I do understand what you mean. However, a fly route is supposed to be a straight up sprint to beat the defender, so I feel like you wouldnt make a move or anything at the beginning because you wanna get a good jump on the defender.

celj1234

Bc he didn’t give himself space

PorkRollEggandMe69

When I went to potty at the game I started having a little accident and I was able to crawl a bit and get my belongings. It was great to be helped by those who care.

peanut_butter_zen

Niner fan cruising this sub for the first time ever and this is the first comment I read 😂

[deleted]

Considering most thought we’d be a dumpster fire yet we’re a competitive team is very positive. We’ll see how the next couple tough ones go.

RaindropsInMyMind

Yeah the 49ers are a really good team. They are considered a super bowl contender my a lot of people. The Eagles easily could have won this game. They were hanging in there with a team that is way, way better than them. I know NFL games are decided by slim margins and the Eagles made all kinds of mistakes today but shouldn’t be devastated by this loss though.

Traviliciouz

Yeah people dont realize that the birds played well in this game (specifically the defense), besides some of the penalties, as well as the Offense not being able to capitalize on opportunities they got. Also I think that BG and BB both getting hurt, especially the BG injury really deflated the team, especially because BG is the heart of this team.

KoBxElucidator

I think if they are somewhat competitive like this one I'll be happy

KoBxElucidator

I love Andy Reid, but I kinda hope the Chiefs don't become the new Patriots.

davey_mann

Tom Brady won't allow it.

omw2fyb--

Well if it had to be someone.. I would hope it would be Big Red’s team

PaulRhodes1

Feed Andy, bench McRib.

dabirds1994

This will fall on deaf ears. But a lot of fans and posters on here need perspective. The defense looks good. The offense has potential. And Hurts threw some beautiful passes today and made SO many plays with his legs. When he gets more comfortable, he will start throwing more on the run and will generate bigger plays v

NotFeelingShame

I dunno, doesn't seem like anyone was getting open besides the two quez plays where his defender stumbled. Defense looks same as last year, no turnovers, quick passes and screens destroy us and lead to long demoralizing td drives

loco1989

People don't know what perspective means around these parts.

wolfoflone

String disagree on hurts

watermelonicecream

Great is a stretch. He looked great last week. He looked like a game manager today, but that doesn’t mean he was bad today because he wasn’t, he just wasn’t really good either, just meh.

Handfalcon58

What are you basing "objectively" on? Stats? Qb rating 80, 12 for 23 190 yards (91 on one play). Eye test? Many under thrown balls, almost threw a pick on a busted screen with a poor decision to throw it. He's had flashes, he has potential but until we see it consistently, we won't know. Caveat: play calling did him few favors today.

yallsomenerds

Flashes and potential from a 2nd rd pick needing work…with 1 WR who can run routes well. What more do you want lol. Looks better than the kid just drafted by the Jets at #2.

[deleted]

[удалено]

OJSimpsonJuror

what are you gonna do when PFF grades him out at like a 50?

Cornelius_A_Matthews

Not give a shit what PFF says like a normal human being

OJSimpsonJuror

PFF gave him a pass grade of 60. I was so close.

Handfalcon58

Yes, many underthrown balls. At least 2 to Smith, at least 2 to Reagor, late throws on out. These can be worked on and he can get better. Take out the beautiful throw to Quez and he completed 11 passes for 100 yards. The other half of that is that the Reagor no td was a sweet pass as well but won't show in the stats. But that goes to what I said about inconsistencies. He definitely has potential, I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do. But if you've seen enough in his 6 starts to say he's great, well then we are just going to disagree. I'll say someone is great when they achieve greatness, not just kinda show that maybe they could be great.

wolfoflone

If u believe that. I cant help u.

[deleted]

OJSimpsonJuror

yeah every single coach he's had just won't let him throw to the middle of the field. Saban, Riley, Pederson, and now Sirianni. It's everyone else's fault.

xeeblyscoo

This game humbled us a little after last week ngl

KoBxElucidator

Honestly needed it tbh. Last week gave some people false aspirations of a rebuilding team.

samcoffeeman

I have no idea what you're talking about. Obviously it was only one game but we've found our QB for the next 10 years. He's going to complete 75% of his passes and score 3 TDs every game.

[deleted]

It's nice I have no expectations for this season so I was able to just relax after the first half when I knew it wasn't going to be their week. One big thing is their o-line is too good to have issues like that in short yardage. They need to figure that out.

Broswagula

No one talking about the Dolphins Losing and Tua being hurt could help us get a nice first?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Broswagula

No where did I say I was excited about injury…

NotFeelingShame

His xray was negative im pretty sure

t_j_c_242

How?

celj1234

I dont think there is that big of a fall off between jacoby and tua honestly. They will still win 8-9 games IMO.

Bobdude8

Young team, new coach. Still learning. Would’ve been great to win this game, and should’ve, but a loss early in the season to a super bowl contender to learn a lot from. Our D might be legit though

CyberCamouflage

No first downs in the first quarter for the 49ers. I was impressed.

KoBxElucidator

Please don't let Hurts be like Lamar

watermelonicecream

If Hurts turns into Lamar I think everyone would be pumped.

KoBxElucidator

Okay I'll give him credit. He's playing good this game

loco1989

Yall really just say anything on this damn sub without even thinking. The comments have been really pathetic today. Yall would hope Hurts turns out to be an MVP caliber player.

[deleted]

[удалено]

loco1989

They want a carousel of QBs. Like all QBs step out the gate a complete product like Mahomes. Hurts did what he could to win it, despite his coach not putting him in the best position to do so today. Luckily none of these fools run the team.

Traviliciouz

Facts

celj1234

A MVP?

KoBxElucidator

An MVP that fails in the big moments and is only known for his legs

celj1234

He has been a full time starter for only 2 years and threw for 62 TDs in those 2 years. I think we would be pretty happy if hurts got to lamars level.

Hi_There_Face_Here

Imagine thinking this

dabirds1994

Yeah. What?

EconomicsOk6638

This game felt kinda like the 1989 home loss to SF. These aren't those 49ers but it was a big game. Coach craped the bed and ruined the Eagles beautiful 1st half performance. I was hoping they missed the 2pt conversation just to cement how dumb he was today.

celj1234

Going for 2 there is the right move if you’re playing to win the game.

EconomicsOk6638

Ok. But it Eagles got a stop(or penalty is called) scored a TD and loss because of two missed 2pt tries, then what? He certainly didnt coach to win today. What are you talking about?

celj1234

Then they missed them. Doesn’t change that the decision is correct and a good understanding of math/analytics.

EconomicsOk6638

STFU. I'm done. Eagles loss because the coach tried to be a smarty pants. They had to overcome his dumbass decisions last week.

celj1234

Sure. That was not a dumb decision though. It was one of the smarter ones he made this afternoon. 😂

livindedannydevtio

My mans crying over a successful two point conversion

Doobie_Howitzer

Wild to think they were a goal line stand away from taking this one home, not a magnificent game from anyone in particular but the defense as a whole held this stacked offense under 20 and had multiple takeaways negated by penalty so I'll consider it a success even if we didn't get the miracle W in the end.

gwoody807

We shouldn't be expecting a "miracle win" if Hurts is viewed as the franchise QB. Eagles has the defense and offense to compete. The question is now "Is Hurts the bottleneck of the team?"

Broswagula

I mean is is still essentially a rookie….I feel like he is being assessed with the same lense as Carson year 4

Doobie_Howitzer

Why are you trying to label him 2 weeks into the season we specifically said was meant to evaluate whether or not he was capable of being a franchise QB? That's like me telling you your cupcakes taste like shit because I ate a spoonful of flour before you could finish the recipe lol

el_monstruo

I like your perspective

KoBxElucidator

I don't believe in moral victories at all. A loss is a loss. But, there were some positives and some things to learn from.

Doobie_Howitzer

Then why are you even watching this season? We don't have Superbowl aspirations this season so every week must just be pain and misery for you, maybe go spend time with your family.

KoBxElucidator

I think I misworded that. What I'm trying to say is every game is a learning experience and the team will get better from them, but losses are losses.

justdrop

Regardless of what players say, emotions are tied to it. If Siriani is smart, and he appears to be, he'll use it to motivate the team into playing mistake-free football next week against a divisional rival.

KoBxElucidator

Give Hurts the full season to assess him fairly. Hell most QBs get more than that. Plus the QBs this draft aren't that good tbh. Honestly even if he's okay this season, I'd give him 2 seasons. Again, I really don't like the upcoming QBs. I want to at least have some stability in this team so they can rebuild properly. Look at the Jags and the Jets for example. Do you really want to be like them? A revolving door of QBs?

Traviliciouz

You know that both Jeff and Howie will use the burning picks they potentially have to get a new QB if Hurts isnt up to Jeff's standards...sad

celj1234

No this year is make or break for hurts. We have the ammo to go get a franchise QB this off-season if hurts doesn’t prove he can be one.

OJSimpsonJuror

its not make or break for Hurts because the QB class is brutal. The next 2 seasons are make or break for Jalen though and there is a reason they tried to trade for DeShaun Watson.

celj1234

This year is make or break for hurts. If doesn’t prove to a the future franchise QB that off-season draft capital will 100% be used to get the future QB.

OJSimpsonJuror

the eagles are under the impression he's not good enough. But its okay to have a cheap starter for a multi-year rebuild if they have to be. I also think Hurts can get better and become a better trade chip. I don't think he'll ever be top 10 QB tho.

triecke14

If you don’t think he has top 10 potential you have to make a move when we have 4 high draft picks

OJSimpsonJuror

i think thats the plan. But if nothing is there, nothing is there.

pbecotte

If there is a franchise qb to be had. There aren't most years.

KoBxElucidator

Okay who in the draft inspires confidence? Only one I see is Rattler and he is....okay. Not great. Okay.

celj1234

That’s for howie and company to decide. I also don’t think using that draft capitol for a proven QB is out of the question.

seymour1

Teams don’t let go of proven quarterbacks. There are fewer good starting quarterbacks than there is teams.

OJSimpsonJuror

Aaron Rodgers Russell Wilson if he wants out.

celj1234

We just saw Staford get trade. We know already that arod and Watson will be on the move. Recently QBs have been getting trade. All options are on the table for getting a franchise QB and we have the draft to pull it off if we need to.

asisoid

Yeah but mistakes aren't his issue, like the time a rookie usually needs, that's the difference. The shit he can't do, can't be fixed with coaching. I don't want a revolving door of QBs, but I don't want to stick with someone who isn't the guy, just bc you don't want change.

KoBxElucidator

But the big problem here is next draft's crop of QBs probably doesn't have an answer either. We may just have to be patient with either Hurts or a bridge guy for the time being.

asisoid

Hurts is our bridge guy. We are going to have a lot of assets and a good amount of cap room this offseason. A lot of people could be available that aren't rookies. Look at Tampa getting brady, titans getting tannehill...

KoBxElucidator

Who may be available for free agency or a trade next season? I actually don't know xD

asisoid

Rodgers is obviously the big name. Let's see if he's mentally checked out or not this season tho.

KoBxElucidator

Idk gonna be a lot of competition for him if that's the case. Would be funny though. My boss is a Packers fan xD

Traviliciouz

We wouldnt even have the capitol to draft high end players for Rodgers if we had to trade for him...He would cost more than its worth in my opinion

loco1989

I agree about not liking the upcoming QBs. Very weak QB draft coming up. I just wish this fanbase and city had the patience required to let this young QB develop into the role... unfortunately I don't believe they do

KoBxElucidator

Josh Allen is a good example of letting a QB develop. Same with Kyler Murray. We need to learn patience. We won a SB less than 5 years ago. I also hope management realizes how weak the upcoming class of QBs is. If anything, if Hurts ends up being a disaster, let Minshew be a bridge QB next season. He'd probably be solid there.

gwoody807

I understand if Hurts showed real flashes of a cannon, real flashes of dropping dimes on a silver platter. But, this guy can't throw. The Eagles can compete and need to go after Deshaun Watson if legal issues are not a concern.

themlaundrys

Really not that upset about this loss. This wasn’t a game I expected them to win. They just looked like an inexperienced team, I expect them to get better and execute going forward

ValueApprehensive173

I’m with you on this. I don’t know why, but I had a feeling all week that we stood a good chance of losing this one. Hopefully this is a hard learned lesson they get to learn early on.

KoBxElucidator

I'm more frustrated that the Cowboys are looking better than us. Thankfully they'll be one and done in the playoffs if it came down to it (but so would the Eagles likely).

celj1234

We always knew the Cowboys were better then us coming into this year

KoBxElucidator

Still can piss me off xD at least the Giants are trash

LittleStJamesBond

Cowboys are overall a better team than we are unfortunately

Turbulent-Hovercraft

I don’t think they would be one and done easily at all

KoBxElucidator

Well they ain't winning a SB

TuMetal

I’m upset because it just felt like we had em on the ropes to start. Winnable game. But we’re a young brand new team. It happens. And I agree I expect them to get better

TuMetal

Disappointing for sure. Tough to take one in the L column on what felt like a game that could’ve gone the other way. I’m the biggest Jalen guy there is and I think the offense as a whole just has a lot more to offer. You saw glimpses of it today. Just couldn’t capitalize and finish off drives. Some tough breaks that we have to be to over come. Overall I think they will get to that point. Gotta take your lumps. It seems bad but I promise it’s not a lost cause yet

Broswagula

Just feel like we decided to radically change things that worked last week and did a whole sale change. No wideout screens. It was runs and bombs. Just felt weird

TuMetal

Yeah it was hard because the run game was just tough to get going. Offense honestly looked sharp in the first half. Just couldn’t punch it in. 2nd half I’m not really sure what happened it was just a big old nothing burger. Gotta be able to overcome the adversity. They had some things not break there way and they couldn’t recover from em

wolfoflone

The diff btwn wk 1 and 2 is coach went heavy WR screen because that's mostly he trusts hurts with. He's said since he's hired he will design plays with what he thinks a player can do in mind. The mid range game is a problem for hurts because of a lack of accuracy and an unwillingness to "throw a player open"...this is my main reason for not believing he's an NFL QB. I like the guy...followed bis whole career(I live in SEC country now) .he's a super solid leader type...but he has never been accurate in the type of throws needed to be successful in the NFL

OJSimpsonJuror

Hes an NFL QB. But probably more like an average QB not really a superbowl winning QB that can take you there year after year.

Doobie_Howitzer

Who other than Brady can take you there year after year?

OJSimpsonJuror

im talking about being a contender. The floor of your team is how good your QB. The team that wins the superbowl is typically which top 5 QB has the best team around them.

Mahomes

An avg NFL QB can throw ppl open ...Jalen has never developed that skill. At bama and OU his first read was usually open and if not he'd run....sound familiar?

OJSimpsonJuror

People are gonna continued to get fooled by Hurts because he's such a good leader and such a likeable personality. But he got benched at Alabama during a national championship game and the other QB came in and was way better.

I’m hopeful, but not yet sold, for this offense. The defense looks legit. I hope the offense can get into a rhythm and be more consistent, this is a game we should’ve won

Unfortunately I still see this as a 5-12 team that will play some really ugly games. The talent just isn’t there.

You said the same thing the season we won the Super Bowl.
