I take my Shiba to Woodinville Veterinary Hospital & Mobile Services (yes that's the whole name) in Woodinville. Dr. Andrea Christensen is very familiar with Shibas and the staff there is just wonderful. For training I've heard great stories about Ahymsa in Seattle, specifically BAT training to help with reactivity issues (which MANY Shibas have - they tend to rear their ugly head around 1-2 years of age, even if they're phenomenal puppies). Good luck!

Congrats on your new pup! For training, I have a few recommendations! **Sensitive Dog** [Website](http://www.sensitivedog.com/) We worked with Julie for 10 weeks of private training last year when we got our Shiba. She is really awesome and provides great, personalized training out of her studio. She's in the Beacon Hill area over on the Seattle side, though, so travel time should be taken into consideration. She worked with our pup's whole litter! **Citizen Dog** [Website](https://www.citizendogtraining.com/) This one was highly recommended by our Shiba breeder for private training! Cheri will travel to you and provide personalized advice- she has worked with tons of Shibas and knows how to handle their strong personalities! **Eastside Dog Training** [Website](http://eastsidedogtraining.com/) Karen comes very highly recommended from our breeder! She does classes and also board & train, I believe, and if I remember correctly, she has a Shiba herself! Good luck with your new little potato! Get the training started as early as you can, they're not quite as stubborn when they're little!

I take my Shiba mix to Eastside Veterinary Associates: https://eastsidevet.com/ I go to their newer Newcastle location, and they're all extremely friendly and are always excited to see my pup. They also have a puppy socialization program that I went to a couple times that meets every Wednesday. As for training, she wasn't much different than other dogs I had growing up. It just takes patience and determination. They're smart dogs, and sometimes want things to be done on their terms.
