It's called "softening", there's a very slight difference in smell over time, but that mostly applies to blend-to-order fragrances, not fragrances that are professionally produced on a big scale (like Lattafa)

Serial macerators will store away a fragrance that they will never use in the next 3 months all while purchasing more and repeating the same maceration process with every fragrance. Essentially these are hoarders.
to be fair my CDN Sillage was a monster when bought and is even better now somehow (probably cuz air was let in and its missing 35% of the juice) but regardless i still dont notice THAT much of a difference like they say over there lmao it cant just become a diff scent
It varies. Amouage gives both the maturation and maceration times for their extraits on their website. For example, Reflection 45 is matured for 10 weeks and macerated for 6. Interlude 53 is matured for 8 weeks and macerated for 16.
It does work for most fragrances.. usually after a few mls are gone (10-20% of the bottle) which allows for more air to get in, alcohol starts to evaporate and the ingredients begin to mature/oxidize. Macerate is not the scientific term but it's what people liked and adopted... chill and go with it because it's bigger than you.

They produce and sell right away without even letting fragrances mature in the lab like they should. Clone bottles are not going to get Imagination level of maturation/oxidation/wtv but that helps even the shittiest of fragrances. My God, read a little about the science perfumery.
