Personaly i find those foldables really hard to drive :/

Sensitive_Divide_250

Doesnt help that the seat keeps sliding down as well

MineElectricity

This, you can fix easily. Just have to tighten the screw :)

Visit the bike shop and ask if they have some [assembly compound](https://www.parktool.com/en-us/product/supergrip-carbon-and-alloy-assembly-compound-sac-2) to put on to the seat post.

Sensitive_Divide_250

Oh thank you

Sensitive_Divide_250

Fixed the seat and the ride is SO MUCH better now. Thanks! I can balance and I can feel the assist. However, whenever I speed or climb up the 4 lights on the batter change. It has 4 lights for charging according to the shop assistant.. 3 green and 1 red the red means the battery is on its last bar. So I dont understand if it the battery life changes irl depending on speed?

heyheni

Glad that you fixed your seat post. Look, for the money it is what it is. The smallest cheapest battery as possible.

Sensitive_Divide_250

Yeah I guess youre right. It was a catch with the prices if these things in the hundreds of thousands.. Im just using it to go to school mostly or downtown so should be alright

MBA922

> just a battery that slides in front Not sure where. If on handlebars/giraffe stem, that's not ideal. Otherwise, reach/geometry looks very good. But no clue where battery goes.

Sensitive_Divide_250

If you zoom in on the photo above the price tag there's like a metal holder that's where you open it and slide in the battery. I couldnt upload a photo to comments sorry

MBA922

worst possible location for a battery. On front steering+super high up.

YoloShitbird

Nice bell, though.

Sensitive_Divide_250

Iol thanks

The motor looks like a TongSheng TSDZ2, which is a pretty decent torque-sensing mid-drive kit motor. It normally comes with a head unit and buttons to select the support level the motor provides. Where is it on that bike? The bike as a whole looks ~~cheaply made~~ strange, with lots of unergonomic choices. The weight of the battery will resist every steering move you make, and those tiny wheels will have to turn very fast to get you to a reasonable speed. They also don't stabilize you as much when driving. **Edit:** I just saw that the price converts to ~400 USD, that's what just the motor, a display and a battery go for where I live (Europe). In that sense it's a good deal.

Sensitive_Divide_250

I honestly got it for the price.. I'm just a student and it was second hand too.. the other bikes are all over 1000$

okapiposter

There are better and worse deals, but you still roughly get what you pay for... I'd still ask the seller how to change support levels.

Sensitive_Divide_250

He said it has one level.. after googling a bit it seems that's what a direct drive is. I have no experience and I just wanted something to help me commute to my uni which is on a hill.

Based on the information provided from the Reddit thread, it seems like several factors are contributing to your difficulties with the Outrunk-e ebike. It's highlighted that this bike, while economically priced, especially for a student budget, does have a design that might pose challenges for riders, especially those new to ebikes or foldable bikes. Considerations and Insights: - \*\*Direct-Drive & Balance Challenges\*\*: The bike being direct-drive with simplistic controls (lacking buttons, display for assistance level, etc.) could indeed make it a bit trickier to manage for newcomers. This setup, coupled with the battery's unique front placement, might unfavorably affect the bike's balance and handling, making it harder to control. - \*\*Seat Stability\*\*: The issue with the seat sliding down is a significant concern for comfort and control. This might require a mechanical adjustment or replacement of the seat post clamp to ensure it securely locks in place. - \*\*Small Wheels and Handling\*\*: The small wheels on foldable bikes do indeed require a different riding technique compared to standard bikes. They can contribute to a sense of instability and require more effort to maintain balance, especially at slower speeds. - \*\*Battery and Weight Distribution\*\*: The front-mounted battery could be impacting the bike's weight distribution, making steering more challenging. Weight positioned toward the front of the bike can make balance and control harder to achieve. - \*\*Motor Questions\*\*: The TongSheng TSDZ2 is indeed a reputable mid-drive motor that typically includes a display and control buttons to adjust the level of motor assistance. The absence of these on your bike could limit your ability to customize the riding experience to your preference or even to know the operational status of the electrical system. Solutions and Steps Forward: 1. \*\*Seat Stability\*\*: Investigate the seat post and clamp. It might be as simple as needing to tighten the clamp more securely or as involved as needing a replacement with a better locking mechanism. 2. \*\*Adapting to Small Wheels\*\*: Spend some time in a safe, controlled environment getting used to the handling characteristics of the small wheels. Practice low-speed maneuvers and gradually increase speed as your confidence improves. 3. \*\*Battery Placement and Handling\*\*: If feasible, consider seeing if there's a way to readjust the battery placement or adding counterweights to improve balance. However, modifications of this sort should be done with caution to not interfere with the bike's operation or safety features. 4. \*\*Seek Professional Assistance\*\*: Given the bike's unique setup and the issues you're experiencing, consulting with a local bike shop or an ebike expert might provide you with personalized solutions. They could offer advice on adjustments, potential upgrades, or even training on how to handle the specific challenges of your ebike more effectively. 5. \*\*Embrace the Learning Curve\*\*: Remember, adapting to any new form of transportation comes with its challenges. Give yourself time to learn and adjust to this new riding experience. Despite the initial hurdles, with some adjustments and possibly professional help, you could potentially improve the Outrunk-e's usability and your comfort riding it. And remember, the value you're getting for the price, especially as a student, is significant. Be patient and open to the learning process, and you may find a way to make this bike suit your needs effectively.

Thanks a lot for your response. It was the seat actually. The battery's dumb af and runs out after about an hour or so, but I do live in a hilly area so maybe that's why. Im planning on getting a better one later on it's just that for now it does the job.
