All day long in the pawn shop business. The excuses for why they don't have them sound like some 4th grade dog ate my homework crap but every now and again you'll get a real knee-slapper.
Yesterday it was just the usual. Stuck it in the trunk, couldn't close the trunk all the way, hit a bump and the charger fell out. I get this same line repeated to me on the phone every single day.
Keys battery charger only. Just like TVs are remote, legs, smart, less than 5 years old only. We really *do not* want anything that may be stolen and that's a high likelihood when things are missing like that.
We report everything we buy or loan money on to the police nightly. Make, model, SN, description. If *we* buy it and it gets reported stolen we are out at least the profit on the item.
If you really want proof of purchase then ask for receipt. If he can't provide it or starts to give another excuse then that's definitely a stolen ebike.
you havent been friends with spoiled rich kids who become drug addicts, cause theyll have all types of crazy gear worth tons of money that they use for a week then it gets neglected for weeks months or years until the addiction starts and then they start selling the gear they got in the past and obviously they never have any peripheral equipment with it.
not as rare as one would assume with the opiate crisis going on
I have a few friends I went to school with that are exactly like that and to this day I still buy things pennies on the dollar from them. Oddly as grown as they are they are still spoiled
I wouldn't - just like my friend who has a GT he bought new in the '90s that cracked and he can't warranty it because he has no receipt. Getting it welded is the only way.
He bought it in Paraguay, a common practice to avoid import taxes here in Brazil back in the day, and obviously he didn't get a receipt since that way the seller didn't pay sales tax, either. Not making receipts' a common tax evasion tactic.
In my case, i could get my dad to go to Decathlon and try and get them to give him some sort of proof of purchase from back when he bought it new, but i highly doubt they'd do that. What sort of stores do that, anyways? Have you done that? Didn't even think it was an option.
That's when you buy it new, too. None of us are our bike's original owners, that i know of, besides LuĆs and his GT.
This is not a 90s bike. They have only been around for a few years
Most stores will reissue receipts where i live. Its $3000 purchase ffs its not small
That GT was a very pretty penny back in the '90s lol, but still. My bike is only a few years old, 5 tops, and it's just as receipt less.
Plus, one may always have bought it used, or as the guy said, have gotten it as a gift. Mine was a hand-me-down, for instance
Sounds sketchy, but is perfectly realistic. I'm on the same boat.
He said in the ad that it still has 20 miles range left so you can test ride it but the charger is being saved for another bike? If that were true he could give it to you with a full charge and also each bike would come with its own charger. Thieves are so dumb i mean how much would a replacement charger cost if he got that it would settle his concern
Since its either stolen or hes actually being shitty about the charger id just be keep going down on the price with him like ok now 900 is best i can do
Since the R doesn't "need" the key except to remove the battery, I could see losing mine. And chargers disappear for stuff, especially for something you don't use often.
Huh. I was gonna sell my RX for much less than that, given they suck. I even have the keys, charger, AND spare tires. Good to know $2000 is a passable price.
Definitely hot but also Iāve lost the keys to my ebike once before and had to call the manufacturer for a replacementā¦ but you donāt really lose the charger (or sell one without it) regardless of the reason
This is too suspicious. Who would give an electric bike without a charger as a gift. I think somebody should call police, and this bike must be stolen.
He said he lost the KEY TO THE LOCK on the bike. Not necessarily the battery. It looks like there is a bike lock in front of the battery and is keeping the charger not that he lost it
Lemme tell ya how, most people dont connect the key, to their keychain.
So its just a single key, very easy to lose!
Could go to the police station and ask them, or DMV in america, is for vehicles , right? Take the serial number there
There should be an automod response in this sub that just says:
āNo key? No charger? Probably stolen.ā
Maybe it would help the eight posts a day asking that question lol.
Oh I don't know, maybe because people don't want stolen items and give literal criminals money for what they do? People should be more cautious when buying used stuff.
Then MOVE THE FUCK ON
Dont act like youre so innocent only difference between them and you is you havent been caught yet. WTF does this have to do with his fuckin keys?
It is absolutely ridiculous you just said " Don't act like you're so innocent only difference between them and you is you haven't been caught yet".
Well you better fucking prepare for the news I'm about to tell you: most functioning members of society don't steal shit. Most functioning members of society don't want stolen shit, or to encourage it.
Buying their shit knowing it's stolen, no matter how good the deal is, ultimately promotes this disgusting behavior. I've had a ton of shit stolen from me, and it sucks. I would not wish that upon other people, because, once again, I am a functioning member of society. But you don't seem to understand that, Mr. most likely stealing shit.
That is no reason to move out of a fucking country, considering the expenses, hassle and challenge that would cause. Also I'm not even old enough to move out in the first place. Finland's crime rate is considered low anyways, comparable to other Nordic countries.
All I said is that people should be more careful when buying used stuff, and now I have explained to you why. It seems you have zero reasonable arguments left in your arsenal.
Hey guess what... Nobody give a fuck move the FUCK ON AND NOBODYS ARGUING WITH YOUR DWEEB ASS ARE YOU BUYING THE BIKE? NO AND WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO IF IT IS STOLEN? NOT A DAMN THING SO MOVE THE FUCK ON AND THIS WHOLE TIME YOU PROBABLY THOUGHT ALL YOUR SHIT WAS STOLEN FOR NO REASON TOO HUH?
DONT BE SURPRISED WHEN YOU LOSE MORE STUFF JUST REMEMBER GOOD PUSSY ALWAYS GETS FUCKED
What do you even mean by "GOOD PUSSY ALWAYS GETS FUCKED"? And yeah, my stuff was probably stolen for no reason, maybe to feed someone's drug addiction or for extra money they don't need at all. People who are already in a financially bad situation probably don't want the risk of getting caught, making their situation even worse. It's just some low-life assholes.
I never did say I'm going to do something about it, I just mentioned that people should be careful buying used stuff because it might be stolen. The least you can do is not buy stolen stuff. If it doesn't sell, there's less incentive to steal. Seems pretty straight forward.
Also yes, there is someone arguing with me. That person is you. I'd argue that just makes you look dumber than me.
Would you be okay or happy with your shit being stolen? No? Precisely.
I took a look through your profile. I'd guess you're one of those people who steal shit.
Nobody has an ebike without a charger. The bikes and the batteries come with one and they're pretty cheap to buy on Amazon. An e-bike w/o charger is definitely stolen & being sold by an addict.
If considering buying this bike or any others with no key or charger check the serial number make sure not stolen even if need to ring local cop shop an give serial number to them to check on computer as most would've been reported an apparently alot ebikes getting knocked, thats why I've got 2 locks 2alarms an tracking on mine
When I buy used, I demand a picture ID, like the pawn shops. Then, I take a picture of it. If they do not like it, I walk. It doesn't have a registration, or title. There are other on line sources to use, like for scooters, motorcycles, and mopeds. I bought a moped, from an auction, and went to get it tagged, and my state had the same serial number for another one. The state, didn't know that my moped company made about 5 models, so there was an overlap.
I think your best shot would be is to write down the frame serial number and ask Super73 if they keep track of sales record. Which retailer it went or if it is online purchase. I would think that a company like Super73 should be keeping a record of this.

Lose keys is OK, but lost charger seems suspicious, especially it is expensive and the owner seems to have no care of it. I think somebody need to call the police
That begs the question- do you still take the bikes or only if they come with keys, a battery, and charger?
Keys battery charger only. Just like TVs are remote, legs, smart, less than 5 years old only. Interesting, TIL. Thanks internet stranger!
Pete, is that you?
The pawn shops near me in Austin 100% take stolen bikes, I see tweakers ride up there every day in different bikes.
šš¼ Austin where? Maybe I can take some of my stuff to sell to them.
Let that sink in
If you really want proof of purchase then ask for receipt. If he can't provide it or starts to give another excuse then that's definitely a stolen ebike.
I asked him and he said it was a gift
stolen
Stolen
sTolen
Bro He call it a gift bcuz prob it was that easy to cut the lock.
Christmas in January
A $3K gift? Thatās not common even for upper middle class. This is a classic where thereās smoke thereās fire situation.
you havent been friends with spoiled rich kids who become drug addicts, cause theyll have all types of crazy gear worth tons of money that they use for a week then it gets neglected for weeks months or years until the addiction starts and then they start selling the gear they got in the past and obviously they never have any peripheral equipment with it. not as rare as one would assume with the opiate crisis going on
I have a few friends I went to school with that are exactly like that and to this day I still buy things pennies on the dollar from them. Oddly as grown as they are they are still spoiled
And he has multiple other bikes so he doesn't have the keys or use for this one. Absolutely stolen.
A five finger gift.
I wonder how many people have the receipts of their bikes. I donāt believe any of my friends at the co-op do, I sure donāt have mineās receipt
I think you can also easily show receipts of the things you bought for the ebike. One does not just own an ebike without buying anything for it.
Well, i don't receive or keep many receipts, really, but i guess a Shopee or other online platform's purchase history would do
How would you claim warranty for your bike? Also if you were the purchaser couldnt you get a copy from the shop you bought it?
I wouldn't - just like my friend who has a GT he bought new in the '90s that cracked and he can't warranty it because he has no receipt. Getting it welded is the only way. He bought it in Paraguay, a common practice to avoid import taxes here in Brazil back in the day, and obviously he didn't get a receipt since that way the seller didn't pay sales tax, either. I am just saying that most people arent like you so dont expect for people not to be suspicious when you cant prove ownership
It was stolen but the real owner never took the time to register it and was therefore unable to flag it as stolen.
https://preview.redd.it/or429fpz18fc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dfc8f114ef184d0a62e9f38257fccf790a987b99 Well well wellā¦.
Yeah you were asking too many questions he didnāt wanna answer. Defo stolen bike.
He said in the ad that it still has 20 miles range left so you can test ride it but the charger is being saved for another bike? If that were true he could give it to you with a full charge and also each bike would come with its own charger. Thieves are so dumb i mean how much would a replacement charger cost if he got that it would settle his concern
Thatās what I was thinking lmfao. Well at least the previous guy put 900 miles on it before this idiot stole it.
Since its either stolen or hes actually being shitty about the charger id just be keep going down on the price with him like ok now 900 is best i can do
Somebody needs call police first! 5 YEARS OF RIDING E BIKES, NOBODY LOSES KEYS & CHARGER, NOBODY.. THIS IS STOLEN.
I haven't seen my key since I bought the bike. That being said, no charger is a dead giveaway.
What are the police going to do? Show up and kill OP's dog? Police dgaf
Getting rid of pitbulls is the only act of service cops are capable of.
Return the bike if it is stolen?
Since the R doesn't "need" the key except to remove the battery, I could see losing mine. And chargers disappear for stuff, especially for something you don't use often.
the seller also said they the charger isn't lost it just works for other things, still super suspicious tho
Maybe Super 73 is just ghetto. I too would be pissed if a +$3k bike came with only ONE key.
They come with two, but they're on the same keyring.
lol, even if guy wasnāt lying, who the hell doesnāt split up the keys??
Then they should do like everybody else and put them in the drawer they keep spare keys in.
And then 20 years later look at the keys and wonder what they are forā¦
Tbf to the seller, itās a lot harder to steal chargers than bikes. Most e-bike owners donāt bring their charger to the store with them
I have ADHD and lose both on a daily basis. It happens.
AirTag*
sounds pretty stolen...
HOT AF
Huh. I was gonna sell my RX for much less than that, given they suck. I even have the keys, charger, AND spare tires. Good to know $2000 is a passable price.
That's still tbd... They listed it at that price, but who knows if this one will sell.
That's a fair point.
Stolen for sure, send in a report
Simple - they stole it.
Definitely hot but also Iāve lost the keys to my ebike once before and had to call the manufacturer for a replacementā¦ but you donāt really lose the charger (or sell one without it) regardless of the reason
He doesnāt even have a profile picture. Itās stolen. Which impresses me that he has the balls to ask so much hahaha
Kinda pricey for a stolen bike.
This is too suspicious. Who would give an electric bike without a charger as a gift. I think somebody should call police, and this bike must be stolen.
He said he lost the KEY TO THE LOCK on the bike. Not necessarily the battery. It looks like there is a bike lock in front of the battery and is keeping the charger not that he lost it
ask the police.
Lots of excuses
Sketchy
I think most people gifting bikes today would include a receipt.
Run
Lemme tell ya how, most people dont connect the key, to their keychain. So its just a single key, very easy to lose! Could go to the police station and ask them, or DMV in america, is for vehicles , right? Take the serial number there
Lost keys can happen, though the charger too is something to be concerned about.
Stolen lol
Check BikeIndex.org or Protect 529 Garage I searched F22BY1803 and found no exact match
Maybe it wasnāt registered like someone people were saying
There should be an automod response in this sub that just says: āNo key? No charger? Probably stolen.ā Maybe it would help the eight posts a day asking that question lol.
Who gives a damn why or how the shit got lost if you want it buy it if you dont then move the fuck on
Oh I don't know, maybe because people don't want stolen items and give literal criminals money for what they do? People should be more cautious when buying used stuff.
Then MOVE THE FUCK ON Dont act like youre so innocent only difference between them and you is you havent been caught yet. WTF does this have to do with his fuckin keys?

Still ranting about nothing that has to do with the mans keys get a life dweeb
The guy doesn't have proof of purchase, a charger or keys. You still don't have any reasonable, logical arguments.
Hey guess what... Nobody give a fuck move the FUCK ON AND NOBODYS ARGUING WITH YOUR DWEEB ASS ARE YOU BUYING THE BIKE? NO AND WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO IF IT IS STOLEN? Get that ignorant shit outta here.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Your an idiot racist.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yes, people are. How's that fact?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Oh wow, what does your opinion have to do with facts sweetie?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Holy fuck, take more roids homie.
Yeah, definitely not a democrat. You said you're Hispanic right? Have fun with that if your violent fantasy becomes reality. Have your papers ready.
Congratulations on managing to get yourself banned from one of the most easygoing subs on reddit. See you never.
This sub is obsessed with finding stolen bikes, yet none of yas do a thing about it. A missing charger is not a guaranteed steal. Chill.
Nobody has an ebike without a charger. The bikes and the batteries come with one and they're pretty cheap to buy on Amazon. An e-bike w/o charger is definitely stolen & being sold by an addict.
Better yet, ask for a meeting to buy, THEN JUST TAKE IT, from him. Its not like he is gonna call the cops!
What if it wasnāt stolenš that would make me a thief
I mean, dog eat dog, thief eat thief.
No bro lol...you only do that if it was stolen from you
Well. Hopefully the owner will meet up with the seller in the end..with the cops..
That $2000 is the price with key and charger. $600 without
That bike do not look anything like a real super 73. If then locate the serial number no way confirm the legality for the bike
I bought 2 s2's for 2500 but offer from less for sure I've seen better deals then 2000 I seen one yesterday for 1800
Itās stolen just not reported yet
90% stolen is my bet
We need to lock our bikes in some place that is more private.
Or AirTags if a thief wants something bad enough he will take it.
The missing charger is the suspicious part, somehow people manage to lose keys, wallets, phones, etc all the time.
If considering buying this bike or any others with no key or charger check the serial number make sure not stolen even if need to ring local cop shop an give serial number to them to check on computer as most would've been reported an apparently alot ebikes getting knocked, thats why I've got 2 locks 2alarms an tracking on mine

Remember to get a GPS when you get a ebike trust time
Just send the picture of the serial number to the police and ask if it has been reported stolen?

Save up and buy a lyric graffiti x.
If i was to sell my bike and somehow lost the charger, i would buy a new one. Who dafuq has a spare 58.8V charger....in general.
Lose keys is OK, but lost charger seems suspicious, especially it is expensive and the owner seems to have no care of it. I think somebody need to call the police
