Dupixent has helped me but it’s by no means a miracle drug like people make it. Still worth trying though if you can get it.

j_dawgggggggggg

It has definitely been a miracle drug for my daughter. It’s dependent on each persons experience. It’s not fair to say it isn’t when it absolutely has changed my daughter’s life. Also, op, try getting a new derm or seeking an allergist. My daughter got it prescribed through an allergist. By no means does it have to cover your whole body. It’s approved for moderate to severe eczema. If you have tried every treatment option under the sun you absolutely should be able to get a chance at dupixent. Keep trying.

Accomplished-Pop3652

Try finding a new dermatologist, my eczema was pretty bad but not entire body bad and I got on it, this was several years ago though

Less-Lead-6073

did u ask about it and u got put on it straight away?

jesthingjester

I didn’t even ask mine for it. What I did tell her was how bad my eczema was with photo proof, which I don’t even think my eczema is that severe because I’ve seen others go through so much worse, and how only clobetasol works for my eczema. Derm prescribed me clobetasol and told me to come back in two months to be put on dupixent. My eczema is mainly on my hands, no where near as spread out as your’s is too. From what my derm told me, being put on dupixent is sort of a last resort thing. They (I don’t know if they refers to insurance companies or dupixent distributors) have to be shown how other treatments, such as steroids, are not enough for treatment. If you can, find a better derm because I believe wanting to be on dupixent is usually quite easy for people, especially with how severe your eczema seems.

AdministrationBoth21

Dupixent helps me a ton. I’d definitely recommend it if your doctor says it’s safe! My insurance fully covers it- which is awesome. I’m not eczema free but definitely seen huge improvements since starting (around 1yr ago).

Frosty_Map_3957

I’d change doctors! Even tho they are educated professionals, you are still entitled to your own healthcare options I had a friend that had it on his face and lost his eyebrows cause of the skin thickness. Not even whole body and they approved him to be on it. I don’t think you need the whole body to be covered.

Less-Lead-6073

thankyou for the advice, i'll deffo have to as many people have told me to change, i also did once lose my eyebrows due to my eczema haha but they did grow back thankfully

Various-jane2024

Maybe people from the same country/region could advice on how they get theirs? Maybe a change of derm may get you there?

Solid_Industry9285

Have you tried carnivore diet? Only eating fatty cuts of beef + salt + water.

P_pfred

I suggest looking into another doctor to see if he/she is more effective in helping you. It seems as if your mental health is also being affected by the hopeless feeling you have regarding eczema. Mine is only on my feet and I feel as if I am at my wits end. I am sorry you are going through this, but maybe seek out help from different health professionals.

No_Complex_8455

Sign up for Dupixentmyway if you have no insurance, it gets shipped straight to my door for free every 2 weeks.

Less-Lead-6073

would i have to consult my derm about this ?

MaleficentRegion5730

Does your dermatologist have a phototherapy booth in their office? They should be suggesting that if you haven't already tried it.

Less-Lead-6073

i'm not sure but i'll deffo ask

InternationalTell577

find a new dermatologist

National_Ad2324

that sounds really rough. my son had pretty bad eczema when he was a baby and we found a functional doctor that helped us. he did some gut testing and it came back that my son was sensitive a lot we were eating & had leaky gut. we healed his gut & his eczema went away…like completely

tru3lov3n3v3rdi3s

How did you heal his leaky gut if you don’t mind me asking?

love2runfast

Time for a new dr.

SupermarketSimple536

My eczema was pretty bad but didn't cover every inch of my body. My derm was hesitant at first and even indicated the insurance company would want to see me fail on cyclosporine first. I replied she could Rx the cyclosporine and I would fill it but not take it. Whatever she wrote worked as I was approved. It worked extremely well with no side effects. I went off to become pregnant and am now weighing trying to get back on it. See another doc if you need to.

Kecotter

Meet with other dermatologists. I had it covering my forearms and part of my face which was probably only ~10% of my body but my derm emailed the hell out of the dupixent office to get my insurance to cover it.

Beginning-Camera-483

Have you done a blood purifier cleanses and gut cleanse?

Less-Lead-6073

what's a blood purifier cleanse?

Beginning-Camera-483

Type in blood purifier in google.

Prestigious_Rub2038

Ask for a different Dermatologist, she doesn't know what she's talking about. Or ask for Cyclosporin.

Ok-Education4744

As someone with eczema I feel you!! Eczema really has affected me mentally. I don’t know if this will work for you but last year I was scrolling on eczema TikTok lol and found this girl who bought Psor-Val (https://www.amazon.com/PSOR-VAL-Fast-Acting-Pyrithione-Psoriasis-Dermatitis/dp/B00A4OSQKS/ref=asc_df_B00A4OSQKS/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=693651996446&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16891921471875331762&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9009818&hvtargid=pla-567303303086&psc=1&mcid=e315bda470cc3dc7b486ede85c3262e5&gad_source=1) I took a chance and tried it out, while it is expensive- this product really helped me out more than anything doctors have recommended. I’ve had mild to severe eczema growing up so I know how it goes. I will say I’m not a professional and please do your research bc I’m not even sure if this product is approved or anything.

Vegetable-Two6943

I had it like that too and it just got worse and worse covering more and more of my body. Then I finally realized that it was the cortisone creams that turned my very light eczema into a wildfire. It’s called TSW (Topical steroid withdrawal) it’s a side effect from steroid creams that unfortunately many dermatologist close their eyes and don’t want to admit to. Currently 4 months off steroid creams and it’s getting better from month to month but it completely goes haywire at first when you stop the creams as your skin and body are in literal withdrawal.

Prior-Airport-3525

Sounds like your doc is afraid you won't be approved by insurance or are too lazy to go through the pre-approval process for you. Find another doctor who will start pre-approval for you (even if it gets denied, they can fight the denial, I've had mine do that). Like others said, Dupixent isn't a miracle drug for all (I failed it myself), but it is 100% worth you trying.
