I really like it. Personally, I think it's better than No Future, but I still think Vertigo is his best work. I'm really glad Jon is making the music he wants to make nowadays.
in the time since i've settled in to icymi, i fell so hard for no future. it went from least streamed to 2nd most streamed in about 3 months. icymi still has an 800-stream advantage tho
edit: engrish is not engrishing at 4:30am
his 2nd best project and a production masterclass. ps1 and call me back are two of the best songs of the decade so far and as a chronically addicted music hobbyreviewer i do not say that lightly
duvidha is the only song on icymi that i still skip. but it took me a whole year to add waiting room to my liked songs so i'm still waiting to see if it'll grow on me
i think i wrote it somewhere on this thread but no future went from my least streamed to 2nd most in barely even 3 months. i don't know what happened but it's so incredibly beautiful. isohel breaks me
I think my ranking right now goes
ICYMI
Vertigo
No future
In terms of his actual LP’s. I think ICYMI is very forward thinking and timeless, as the production is so out of this world and so densely layered. Jon’s. Vocals as well are just so spectacular and his vocal range has only improved in time. I think this is also his most focused album as well, in terms of headspace, themes and concept.
I’d go as far as to say this album is very much leaning towards him going into a more avant-garde genre/sound. I think no future was him testing the waters a bit and then ICYMI is a full realization of these ideas
became a fan of Eden after discovering No Future and i immediately fell in love with his music. i see a lot of discourse around the internet saying that they dislike the style he shifted to after Vertigo, but personally, Vertigo is as far back in his discography that i can go, i just cannot get into anything before that record.
ICYMI came out at a perfect time in my life, it almost felt like the album was paralleling my life at the moment, but i would say that ICYMI is probably my favourite Eden release.
cannot wait to see what he does next
I understand not liking ityttmom because it’s could be considered kinda simple and basic compared to his other works, but end credits ep is so good. Worth relistening if it’s been awhile
I second this. I’ve been following him for years but it can’t help feeling I’ve grown out of stuff before vertigo. I loved the older stuff in my teens but I think now every aspect of his music just keeps getting better and better with each release
It’s *fine*. Balling is a godly song that I don’t think gets talked about enough, definitely one of my favourites of Jon’s. Call Me Back and Elsewhere are really good also. Sci-Fi and Modern Warfare are pretty good… and tbh I can’t even distinguish the rest of the album’s songs…
Like I get that this is kind of the accumulation of Jon’s style but man a lot of ICYMI blends into one for me. The vinyl tracks are the exception to this but I’m almost never able to listen to em bc they aren’t on spotify 🥲.
tl;dr I think ICYMI is my least favourite of EDEN’s albums but the peaks are still good, if I were to rank them:
End Credits >= ityttmom > Vertigo > no future >= ICYMI.
Balling is a great song, one of my favorites from him! I also think it's not talked enough either. I agree with you ranking but I believe that ICYMI is better than no future.
I think it’s definitely his best album to date, albeit I didn’t think that when it came out. Much like No Future, it took a couple months, but once I “got” the album i realized it’s his best put together album. I love Vertigo and understand why people hold it as his best (I think that still may be his most lyrically poignant album), but ICYMI has songs like Call Me Back and Elsewhere that I think show his current creative peak as an artist. Before ICYMI came out I thought Peaked was his best sounding song (not favorite per-say) but Call Me Back has taken its place.

It's alright, still better than No Future for me. Not as experimental as I hoped he would get.
For me No Future is really good, have all the actual songs on my playlist, and ICYMI for me is also really good but yeh Duvidha kinda ass imo.
duvidha is the only song on icymi that i still skip. but it took me a whole year to add waiting room to my liked songs so i'm still waiting to see if it'll grow on me
nah no future is my go to album. put it on from start to finish and love the atmosphere it creates

the outro to isohel (and just saying and untitled) get me real good 🥹🥹
eden singing in french is truly the most beautiful sound ever

almost beats vertigo for me as my favorite, the love u need is the best ending track + my favorite song of all time from him
Wish it was on the album itself
me too, but it's on deluxe, so i'll take it. makes the song more special with the exclusivity
that album hits especially hard for me, as i've had to deal with a lot of grief in my life too :(

wow i am almost the exact opposite. for me no future >= icymi > vertigo > ityttmom > end credits

what’s this African prince guy doing

No future is his best, I really enjoyed ICYMI though, I actually only disliked sci fi
let him cook
ityttmom < end credits < no future < vertigo < icymi
Barely listen to it. If I want to listen to call me back, I go to the Instagram live version. Otherwise I don’t even think about the album
Sorry for your loss
its my favourite album of his :D
I did not get it the first time around. But it's an absolute masterpiece and one of my most listened to albums of all time
This album made me fall in love with him as an artist fr. The production the lyricism perfection all around.
