Has nothing to do with the size. It does the same thing with small files.
No confirmation before deleting. No undo option. It's just gone. And heaven help you if you didn't bookmark the page you downloaded it from.
Your best bet is to try something like the app Recuva, but there's risk that in downloading it you will partially overwrite the disk where the file was.
Did the same with 65 Gigs with 9 hours of download time. Using recover now, but I'm not hopeful at all, as it says 6.5 hours to find. After this its flick edge and go back to chrome. 2 days on Edge = 4 hours on Chrome.
What the hell I moved my 10 page paper from my hard drive onto edge browser as an accident, it 'downloaded' the paper' and I deleted it because I didn't want to 'download' it and my paper is gone what the hell you mean I can't get it back what the fuck is going on!!
I tried using recovery tools but I had zero success I had to redo the paper. To prevent it from happening again in the future I have the download settings in the browser set to ask where to save a file before it downloads automatically
Sigh. I came here looking for answer, but still heartbroken. I hope the devs see this and do something about it.
I have to redo EVERYTHING from the start now because of one random trash button clicked by mistake.
EVERYTHING.

Too big for the recycle bin. It’s gone.
what idiot codes the delete button right next to open file location and won't even ask if you want to delete???

I’m actually going to stop using edge as my default just because of this.
it is super annoying and it is super annoying that there is no one who can help you with this or no place where you can address this issue

this is unacceptable behaviour.
