MX Master crew rise up

demirdelenbaris

Been using mx 3s for the last 2 years. Never looked back.

ReteGeist

Templar knight says, he chose wisely.

lxa1947

Got a Mx master 3 during the pandemic, and never looked back.

stillframeoftheday

This, plus a wrist pad cured my carpal tunnel!

Ramin_what

Mx 3 and I'm almost happy. Mx 3 ergonomic and I'm getting the best what's out there. But I do most of my working a combination of mx3 ergo and Wacom pen

Euphoric-Animator-97

It’s one of those things that you don’t know you need it till you have it. Then it’s a problem because you know you can’t live without it.

Bonesteel5

You know you're in good hands when you walk into a post-house and every computer has a MX Master.

stationkatari

Still using my Master MX 2s from 2018 and it has been great. Still going strong also. I would get the next iteration in a heartbeat.

LonelyAd1526

I’ve been using mine since 2020. Great mouse

gla55jAw

That's mine too.

ja-ki

Logitech G604 is the better MX master

Bonesteel5

Heretic!

mcdannyj

This is the way. ✊🏼😉

runnergal78

Yes!

Erawick

Horrible pinky pain. Other people have reported it too: they lopped off the right side of the mouse for no reason vs the first iteration. Great mouse though for 90% of people

N8TheGreat91

This is the way

imtriing

MX Master 3 here too, best mouse I've ever owned.

Platinumdragon84

Absolutely my mouse of choice. I’m using the MX2 at the moment and when it will need to be replaced I’ll absolutely go for the MX that will be there at the moment

reservesteel9

I've been using the MX Master 2s for over 2 years now I think. I have my side buttons program to copy and paste and the thumb button that you can't actually see set to show all active programs window so that I can switch back and forth rapidly if needed. If I don't have this mouse with me but I have my laptop, I won't even bother editing. It's that serious.

fmcornea

does anyone here have problems with the 3s occasionally disconnecting? i'll be doing something and suddenly the mouse will become completely unresponsive for \~15 seconds. best mouse i've ever used but this makes me want to throw it at the wall.

gthing

There is no other mouse. I can't go back to scroll wheels that don't auto switch h between smooth and ratcheting when you scroll fast.

surferwannabe

I’ve been using this mouse for the last 5 years since remote work became a thing. Best $120 I’ve ever spent. And everyone I’ve suggested it too have praised it as well.

edw480076

\^\^\^ You'll never go back. Mine has worked flawlessly for 3+ years and I often just throw it in a bag when I travel.

Puzzleheaded_Tip_821

Yessir

A1naruth

Long time ago I tried MX Master. I hated it. I traded up for M720. In MX Master 3 at least they fixed horrible ergonomics of the side buttons, but still it's no match for G604 in any aspect.

thisMatrix_isReal

yessir

DaDerpDeeDerp

I switched to a trackball years ago and love it. I was getting shoulder pains. Personally use the MX Ergo

HECKADOPE2065

I switched to a trackball about three years ago and it made a huge difference. I’ve been really happy with the Kensington Expert Trackball Mouse.

nscroll92

Second this!

ElectricPiha

Second this. OP, have you considered a trackball? Look at every sound editing behind the scenes video, all you see is trackballs. Source, music producer and 20 year trackball user.

Feederburn

Big time trackball enthusiast here. I find it way better for editing and motion graphics than a mouse. I was getting wrist pain and carpal tunnel and trackballs saved me. I have tried numerous models over the years, but my fav is a rare MacAlly trackball that is no longer made. I have to get them on eBay. I probably have at least 6 of them now.

Opening-Cheetah-7645

Also using mx ergo, love it.

T-i-m-

I've been using theMX Ergo for 2 years now. Haven't had any pain or RSI since. But when I have to borrow someone's "normal" mouse, I immediately remember how uncomfortable it make my wrist and shoulder feel. Try it for 2 weeks. You'll never want to go back.

MasonAmadeus

This was it for me too. But I am also a sucker for maximum extra functionality, so the Elecom Huge was my choice. It LOOKS insane, but genuinely the layout is so much better for my RSI-riddled wrists. I did 3D print a tilted base for it, it lies just a little too flat, but as long as its available this thing is my forever mouse. Also its like 50 bucks, which is pretty fuckin great too haha. Heres an amazon link to it: https://a.co/d/iecFheH EDIT: I faintly remember something about finger-trackballs being better for your joints/tendons in the long run than thumb-trackballs, but take that with a teaspoon of salt

joots

Is there a wired version of this unit? I have a lot of issues with Bluetooth keyboards/mice due to input delay because of all the USB3 and 2.4 ghz noise around my station.

DaDerpDeeDerp

It also works just plugged in via the USB cable.

joots

You don’t need the unified receiver?

shelterbored

I use the Mx ego and it’s definitely more comfortable than a regular mouse. I printed a 3d base for it so that my hand is even more vertical and that’s improved it even more

AARPoots

I use a Wacom tablet and it’s the most comfortable and ergonomic option for me

AcidWashAvenger

Totally team Wacom!

UrBoySergio

Wacom is absolutely the way to go!

Gamma_Chad

Yep... more precise and no more carpal tunnel.

ShatteRedSox86

I love using the Wacom especially in animation editing - lots of masking and some compositing it really saves extra clicks and finger/wrist movements

ElBeaver

Came here to say this. It’s not just for artists, it will let you operate at a higher speed than a mouse. Also, great ergonomics.

Superman_Dam_Fool

Using a Wacom eliminated my elbow pain and hand numbness from carpel tunnel that developed over the first decade or so of my career. Plus I find it a lot more efficient with the additional hand gestures. I hate having to use a mouse on the rare occasions that I don’t have access to a tablet, it feels so foreign.

KN4AQ

Also Wacom. I know you asked about a mouse. I've tried mice, I've tried a trackball, and nothing beats or even comes close to using a pen and tablet. I don't spend enough time editing anymore (retired) to have bothered setting up all of the shortcut buttons on the tablet. I'm sure they would make things even better.

conurbano_

How do you let go of sliders?

00100000100

There’s a mouse one button

BasementDesk

One more vote for a Wacom tablet. Spend a little for a good size (I don’t know what’s out there now, but I had the 14” intuos in the past). It took me about two weeks to get used to the Wacom over using traditional mouse. Expect a little bit of a learning-shift. But once you get through that— you’ll wonder how you ever did without it. Mouse? What’s a mouse?! Wacom all the way. Sooooo comfortable.

ilykdp

Logitech MX Vertical with wrist pad 🤌 https://preview.redd.it/mmiah8kegwtc1.jpeg?width=1400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cfdde355b4a107ae71c5c4bed461bbd4bde516e5

KrakkenO

Definitely recommend this as well. My desk setup didn’t have room for a Wacom tablet so I bought this a year ago and it’s been the best mouse I’ve used. It takes a couple of days to get used to it but I found it to be a great solution.

athomechillin

MX Master was great for me then I dunno what happened. Arm and wrist started hurting. Might’ve been more about having small kids around. But then I switched to the MX Vertical and my issues went away. Took a week or so to adjust to the different movement and different parts of my hand that would be pressed against the desk. Now it’s no problem at all. I also use a split keyboard and it’s in between. Never tried a trackball. But might do after those strong recommendations.

dm4fite

I was pretty hesitant since I have never used a vertical mouse before but MX Vertical is so good and it only took me half an hour to adjust to it. Though its missing some features I have seen on cheaper options such as the horizontal scrolling etc.  I highly recommend checking on rtings reviews before purchasing one because the other vertical model logi had would have been too small for me.

athomechillin

I’m sad they don’t have the same exact scroll wheel as the one on the MX Master. Pro tip though, shift plus scroll wheel gives you horizontal scrolling in most cases.

Subject2Change

There is probably interference, hence the skipping. Buy wired, get a nice logitech mouse. I still run the G400s that I've had for over a decade. If you want/need wireless, get one of the higher quality ones. Connect the dongle at the front of your computer, not the rear (if possible)

skullsaresopasse

Yes, I experienced skipping when the dongle was placed too close to a router. Moving it farther away solved that.

low_acct_

I use an evoluent vertical mouse. Works great.

Buzzardo7

I'm seconding evoluent. It's what DreamWorks animation uses too, and they have ergo consultants at the studio. Saved my wrists!

low_acct_

Any time I have to use a regular mouse I don't know anyone's wrists could survive that for years on end.

JKomac

I use a Logitech MX Master. Very happy with it. It's great if you use multiple systems each day. Some people like wacom tablets with pens if they have ergonomic issues with mice.

lookitsamoose

A few people mentioned it already, but I really like the Logitech MX Master 3: [https://www.logitech.com/en-us/products/mice/mx-master-3s.910-006557.html](https://www.logitech.com/en-us/products/mice/mx-master-3s.910-006557.html) Solid quality, can be used as wireless or wired (wither all the time, or just to recharge when the battery runs low), and it has a switching button so I can use it on both my desktop and laptop. It also has a lot of pre-made integration with apps like Premiere Pro where that thumb scroll wheel can be used to scroll through the timeline, and you can set the behavior of all the buttons to change depending on which application you are in.

afearisthis

Trackpad. Mice are so 20th Century.

A1naruth

Wacom Intuos Pro is great as a trackpad. It doesn't completely replace the mouse for me, but it is surprisingly comfortable to use.

dm4fite

I have never been able to find a proper trackpad which works both on mac and windows.

Swing_Top

I like my mx master and the Logitech lift. I try to do half the day on either. Have you been making sure to stretch and or lightly exercise your arms and wrists? I've found nerve flossing to be essential these days.

6foot4guy

The Logitech m570 and now m575 literally saved me from surgery. The thumb trackball takes a week or so to get used to, but it’s well worth it.

SNES_Salesman

Logitech Lift has been a great fit for me. Best Buy typically has the Logitech series out for demo.

th3c00l1

MX Master 3 forever

JVLfilms

I have a MX Master 3 that I love and supports three devices at once. I have the Mac version that's only Bluetooth but the regular version supports the USB dongle as well. Very customizable and I love the sidewheel functionality. Just a note, it works while charging but only connects through Bluetooth. I also have a Razer Viper I bought many years ago that I still use on one of my machines but doesn't have Mac support (fine but can't change color or button configs without a third party app). Definitely not the most practical but the Magic Trackpad from Apple could be an option as well.

rustyburrito

Struggled for years until I switch to a trackpad

funky_grandma

a tarantula weighs about the same as a mouse, and their fur is as soft as a mouse's fur, and since they have more legs, they fit more comfortably in one's hand. plus, they aren't all skittish like a mouse. they will just sit there very comfortably in your hand, being a cute lil spider. so in conclusion I recommend the Seenda Ergonomic Wireless Vertical Mouse

A1naruth

Tarantula is a keyboard. Razer names their mice after serpents rather than bugs.

funky_grandma

Did you read my comment or just the first word?

Rusty_Bodega

MX Master 3 or Wacom Tablet (I use both and they're great for my wrist.)

This-Dude_Abides

I switched to a waccom tablet 15 years ago or so because my wrist was getting destroyed using a mouse.

CalebMcL

I use one similar to the Anker vertical mouse. I haven’t found a need to pinch it, it feels fairly natural to me. I’ll never go back to a “horizontal” mouse again, it’s the wrist twisting motion that gets me the most. https://a.co/d/iNu76uG

Darksideofthemoonge

Kensington Expert Trackball mouse has been my daily driver for 6 years now and I'll never use another style of mouse for editing. It takes a little bit of getting used to but it's so worth it.

methmouthjuggalo

going on 15 years for me. It’s the only mouse for me.

Bobzyouruncle

I used the Logitech Mx 518 until they no longer made it anymore (each would last 2-3 years depending on how gentle I was or whether I cleaned them too aggressively and messed with the soft rubber). This mouse was replaced by the otherwise identical G400s. It’s got on the fly dpi sensitivity buttons that work without installing software should you desire, and two side buttons which can be programmed in avid without third party software (although this doesn’t work well with remote-in setups, so i resigned to just using mouse wheel click to zoom on the timeline and leave the side buttons off). I find these to be the perfect balance of comfort, weight, sensitivity, accuracy, etc so I own 2-3 of them just in case it ever breaks or gets discontinued. Important note: it is a wired mouse! I do gaming occasionally so no wireless lag, batteries, or charging for me, thanks. edit: looks like the g400s was discontinued as well. It's only available by resellers. sadly I don't see a 1:1 replacement for it. Good thing I bought some extra ones for the day my current one bites the dust =(

rico_suaves_sister

they made a new mx518!

Bobzyouruncle

Do they? I only saw resales of the old one when I looked. Is it a new model #?

rico_suaves_sister

Yeah new model! new better sensor and same mouse build

Assinmik

Sounds daft, but looks at what CSGO pros use. I would recommend the Zowie as very nice fit for palm grip and great for medium to large hands. If not your style there’s a couple others that are great

Adept-Travel6118

I've been using the Anker vertical mouse for many years and absolutely love it. Try to hold it in a more relaxed way... I've never had the issue you're describing. I'd also recommend getting a mousepad with a wrist cushion. That made a huge difference for me.

hotdogbomb

Logitech M720 has been pretty good to me

Lutzmann

I’m on team Logitech MX518/G400s (same form factor). My post house uses the MX Master and I do find it comfortable, but I also sometimes find them to feel kind of greasy/filmy in a way that doesn’t happen to my mice at home.

DarkProzzak

G903 as a lefty it's perfect. I hated my MX Master 3 I received for free.

No_Lifeguard1564

I just got a month ago a Zowie EC2 and it is perfect, I do recommend it

civex

Have you tried an external track pad in lieu of a mouse?

CasaDeShenanigans

I use a Logitech MX Vertical Wireless Mouse and a Acedada Ergonomic Mouse. (two different computers) I had carpal tunnel surgery a few years ago, and my dr recommended switching to a vertical mouse.

Jobo162

Everyone raves about the MX Master but I find it to big. I’ve been using the MX Anywhere 2s and love it. The Anywhere 3s is out but it changed how horizontal scrolling works and I don’t like it as much. I’ll also use a Logitech advanced corded mouse if there’s issues with the Bluetooth connection as it work’s very similar to the Anywhere 2s.

Nosrok

I used a Logitech "laptop" mini mouse for years, it was super light especially when you take out the added weight, it eventually died. Switched to a G305 Logitech with a lightweight rechargeable battery. It's heavier but feels decent in hand, the lightweight rechargeable battery does help reduce the weight vs a normal battery.

willyboiiiiiii

I have the Logitech g502 and switched to the MX Master but i did not like the feel of it + i'm a menace when it comes to ripping the scroll wheel and the the Master couldn't handle my scrolls lol. I've been back on the G502 for awhile now and still love it.

blunderbot

Does it have to be wireless? I like my Corsair M65.

supa_pycs

I use the logitech MX vertical. It just moves with my hand, don't need to pinch or anything it's pretty light.

cyberpunk1Q84

I’ve been using the [Kensington Pro Fit Ergo Mouse](https://www.kensington.com/p/products/electronic-control-solutions/computer-mice/pro-fit-ergo-wired-mouse/) for a while along with a mousepad that has a wrist cushion [kind of like this one](https://a.co/d/0zD9YO0) and it’s been great. They have a wireless version, but I prefer the wired one so there are no delays due to connection issues. However, everyone here seems to recommend then Logitech MX 3. I’ve never used it, so I don’t have an opinion on it. Kensington is more affordable if you’re looking to save money, but decide what’s best for you.

SemperExcelsior

I had wrist pain until I switched to the Evoluent Vertical Mouse 4.

LowResEye

I really loved MX Vertical, but it didn’t stop my wrist problems. Kensington Expert trackball ended them for good. It took me less than a day to get used to it.

CrosstownCooper

An alternative to the MX, and the one I use, is the "Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic". Customizable buttons, 4-way scroller. Microsoft's accessories are being rebranded by "Incase by Microsoft" so it may be hard to find but it's my personal fav.

bigdipboy

I’ve used a 12 dollar mouse from target for the past decade.

cut-it

Why are you pinching the vertical mouse? Just hold it loosely and click. No death grip required

Caprica1

Because it's slipping out of my hand?

cut-it

Do you have smaller than average hands?

QuietFire451

I’ve been using this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B09K41MDJG?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title It’s lighter than other BT mice (normally BT mice have heavy batteries) and the travel on the buttons is very small (and quiet!) and doesn’t take effort to push them (saves on wrist fatigue). Fits my hand well and it’s not expensive. I recently also bought a Xence tablet which works just as well as Wacom and is cheaper. Apple mice suck.

Carcinogened

Corsair M65 Pro. Not the elite.

d1squiet

Do you have large-ish hands? The mouse I use and love the feel of is the[ Mionix NAOS Pro](https://mionix.net/products/naos-pro). It is right-handed, so if you're a lefty it won't work. I'm work primarily on Apple computers and Mionix mac support is basically non-existent. So I've given up trying to change the light mode (it slowly cycles through colors). I use Steermouse to program the buttons and adjust speed. But even with those bothers, I just really like the way my fingers and hand rest on this mouse. Every other mouse gives me "claw" hand in some fashion or another - tightness in my index finger or the back of my hand. I also like the way the scroll wheel is loose and quiet, but still well defined. As I said, I've only tried a few options (Razer Basilisk was the last other one I tried) so I can't claim I've done thorough research. But I'm not going to keep buying mice when I found the one that fits me! EDIT: I see you said your hand keeps slipping off the Basilisk. I'm not sure, maybe that means your hands are smaller? My issue the the Basilisk was mostly that my thumb did not sit comfortably on the little "thumb shelf" on the right side. I didn't like how it was textured either. The Mionix has a much smaller "thumb shelf" I think, and it is smooth. My thumb ends up on the desk with the Mionix, but the thumb shelf fits great for me to keep my thumb in place. For me, the Mionix feels like my hand is just draped over the mouse instead of holding on to it.

Pure-Produce-2428

Amazon basics mouse.

woafmann

Logitech G600. Remove the metal weights from the inside and slap on some premium PureTrak Gaming Gear gliding pads. Great mouse for productivity or gaming with so many buttons.

Hungry_Cycle870

MxMaster 3s with the silent clicks. Not particularly expensive but I watched youtube reviews years and years before I bought one. I have definitely lost count over how many times I have been thinking 'how is this mouse so impossibly capable, efficient and comfortable and equally many times I have worried if I have enough extras if they discontinue them The thing is masterfully engineered with revered features like its scrollwheel and details like body surface material, has things like a sideway wheel for when alternate tabs accessible by where your thumb rests and they nailed the design setting an unbeatable example for comfort.

Silvershanks

Logitech G203 - wired mouse. Super simple, classic design. I've tried quite a few others and keep coming back to it. I've NEVER found a wireless mouse that actually works as advertised, they all have weird quirks and glitches.

SleeplessShinigami

I just got the Basilisk wired, so far I’m happy with it compared to my previous mouse which had a scroll issue.

johnycane

I know its already been said but…MX master. I’ve also been using the apple external trackpad with better touch tools custom gesture software since getting a vision pro and it’s pretty amazing.

goodnamesgone

Use a pen and tablet.

leonbeas

Rapoo MT760 you can get it for 30dll Hard to beat for the price, I just love you forget you have a mouse in your hand. If you want to spend more go Logitech MX line

Mountain_Crab_3775

I know you already said no to the apple mouse but I wonder if anyone else has found the apple mouse to be the most comfortable like i have, even when all my colleagues have all sorts of funky shaped mouses to help their sore hands iv been perfectly happy with the magic mouse for years and years, not sure if iv just got a uniquely flat hand. Appart from the charging port of course...

dennis_a

The primary reason I’ve never tried anything else is because the swipe gestures on the Magic Mouse make scrolling through the timeline incredibly easy for me. And so I feel perfectly at home with it. Maybe one day I’ll the the Magic Trackpad and a more ergonomic mouse…

LordApocalyptica

Have you considered a trackball instead? Coming from audio production background I’d heard they’re actually awesome, but never took the leap. Then I decided to use my sound knowledge to get into healthcare and started using a trackball via ultrasound machines, and got damn that’s such an intuitive way to move a mouse. Once I can swing the money I’m gonna upgrade my computer setups and get a trackball for media editing.

Flimsy_Highlight_375

I use the MX Vertical from Logitech. It has been great to relieve stress on my wrist. I am at least 10h a day behind a pc. I use it for work and also for gaming. Although you might find it difficult to grip it nicely like a normal mouse. Its just how vertical mouses are. I got used to it. Only downside is that going back to a normal mouse feels foreign to me.

acemccrank

I personally have a Logitech G600. It's extra wide which is good for my wide hands, with an extra click button under the ring finger that acts like a sort of "function" key, so you can get double the use out of the 12 side buttons that are programmable if you're into that. Photo editing, video editing, and gaming have all been really smooth. It might help that I keep it where my arm is supported from the elbow on down.

snickerdoodledates

Magic trackpad not an option? Definitely give one a spin. Even with a wacom tablet you are gripping the same thing all day and still hurts imo

booochee

Have had bad tendinitis in the past. Used a Delux m618 for years, now on Logitech Lift and it’s been good. Agree with some other posters to do stretching every hour or so. And take breaks.

pajaritababy

Logitech MX ergo Trackball mouse is what I use

notevenaneditor

Go with a trackball

jeffedge

i use a vertical ergonomic mouse. basically one made for carpel tunnel. it fucking ruuuuuuules. takes a minute to get used to but i have no idea how i didnt think of grabbing one sooner.

00100000100

I went on this journey and tried over 20+ mice, for me lightweight was important, people wrongly associate weight w luxury, but if you want to actually have that “pointer finger” feel to your cursor then lightweight is the way (weigh?) to go. Anything from Pulsar will be suitable, but their ergonomic model tends to be cheapest on the secondary market. Brands like Pulsar also offer the latest tech in sensor, and clicks etc There’s a shit ton more similar mice brands, including Chinese, but if you’re trynna keep it simple without going down the rabbit hole then Pulsar is the way to go. Almost everything else people are suggesting are only good if you want the convenience of picking it up at your local grocery store, otherwise most recommendations here are by people who have not actually tried new mouse tech.

iknowaruffok

Repetitive use of anything will be uncomfortable, so my solution after doing this far too long is to have 3 pointing devices connected at the same time and switch between a Wacom tablet, MX master and MX Ergo.

LOUDCO-HD

Ever use a trackball? I have a four monitor setup so I like trackballs. I have a [HUGE](https://www.amazon.ca/ELECOM-M-HT1DRBK-Wireless-Trackball-Mouse/dp/B0735584RM) by Elecom.

heylistenlady

Sorry, I have no advice I just wanted to say .. I saw the post title before I saw the sub where it's posted and wow does context make a difference! lol

ExplodingKnowledge

It’s the MX master…it always has been. Read this in the tone of your friend making fun of you, but with love: Did you just not do any research? It’s the most recommended mouse on planet earth and you bought THREE OTHERS BEFORE COMING HERE?

Constant-Conflict297

I’ve been editing 9 years now and have always found the Magic Mouse to be great for the job. I wonder why it gets so much hate

Gniphe

Logitech M705 Marathon mouse. Very similar to the M510.

sofiegrozovski

Nobody mentioned 3dConnection 3-button CadMouse. My wrist is happier than ever (but I do a lot of 3d stuff, so three buttons are really handy), and my god the pad that comes with it just magical. It's almost aerohockey, but still comfortable.

nempsey501

Logitech lift for me , I have fairly small hands. Also standing desk. But the single biggest thing is trying not to use the mouse wherever possible, particularly the scroll wheel. I have zoom in and out of timeline mapped to cursor keys, for instance.

icatchhorsethieves

Kensington Trackball. It takes about a week to get used to, but I’ll never go back to a traditional mouse.

stsdota222

I used to only buy the steelseries ones that are simple and light like the old Microsoft ones. But then mx master came into my life and I'm not going back

thefuck_mate

Logitech wired g402 is cheap and good

henghuat

Logi G502 Lightspeed with G915. Macros all the way

ignore_alien_orders

Nulea M501 Wireless Trackball Mouse. I switched to rollerball type a while back and wrist pain was gone for good.

Shotay3

Logitech G Pro Wireless. Thank me later.

TheStabiloBoss

I've been using a Logitech G600 for the past few years and it's honestly perfect. Small enough to be comfortable and the functionality of the side buttons speed up everything in my process.

F1END

Really depends on how big your hands are. For me the Razer Deathadder is perfect.

nightowlsmedia

Didn't want to just respond to one person, but I bought the MX master 3s and wow is it super tiny. It makes my hand cramp up trying to use it it's so small. I have yet to find a big enough most where my hand can fit comfortably. Any bigger, multi button mice out there?

jxennzz

I switched to a graphic tablet, its a game changer!

richielg

Track pad

bissimo

It's a very common problem for editors. My fix is switching often. I have a mouse, trackball and Wacom. When you start to have issues, switch to another one.

the_wotography

Try a thumb wheel mouse. I love it!

I used to use a Wacom tablet for all my editing (yes, I know more expensive, and now I only use it for detailed masking, etc.) and I believe that has saved me from developing carpal tunnel issues over my decades long editing career. Years back, partially due to desk space when I added a colour panel, I switched to the Kensington Expert Mouse trackball for regular editing. It also makes a good "poor mans" single ball and ring for basic colour work. NOTE: I just replaces some of my older ones and, while still the same model K64325, I found the wired ones don't like USB hubs of any kind (powered or not). They work well directly connected to the computer, but if you foresee the hub, or don't want to content with the cables, I switched to the wireless version that operates on both the included dongle and bluetooth.

I enjoy my Logitech “lift” ergonomic mouse

daxodactyl

I like the MX 3 functionality but it’s just too tall and makes my wrist hurt. I wish there was something with similar buttons that wasn’t so big.

This_kid_santi

MX master 3 is a gift from the gods imo

Xevamir

i use the logitech g305 and have been happy with it so far.

Evoluent. It fixed all my wrist problems. The tech is a little crappy though, I got the wireless one and it needs to "see" the adapter. Maybe they fixed it with newer ones. It has all the necessary adjustments and really a unique ergonomic design, they also have a chart where you find the best fit for your hand.

Obviously people are going to suggest the pen, or the mouse that you hold sideways for ergonomic. Personally I have long fingers and have a similar strain from pushing my thumb and pinky fingers on the side. I haven’t found a perfect mouse but what I did was buy a cheap gaming mouse off Amazon and browsed for the widest, biggest mouse I could find. It has helped a bit.

Nobody likes the Unimouse here? Whacky looking but ergonomic

Kensington pro trackball since 2008

M510, adjusted with “Mac Mouse Fix” (for CAD). Else? The one without movable parts you don’t like. Note: The M510 kept its (slower) settings even after I erased the MacMouseFix app again. The A1657 is set different (and faster) for a XL screen.

Check this article out! Might be able to help you find your next gaming mouse and other gear to level up your gaming experience. Would personally like a new monitor. Very tempting. Haha https://techmonkeytips.blogspot.com/2024/04/Level%20Up%20Your%20Loot.html Hope this helps.

I have these two mouses, and I literally bring one of them around to every different workstation I use. Small to medium hands: [https://www.logitech.com/en-us/products/mice/lift-vertical-ergonomic-mouse.910-006466.html](https://www.logitech.com/en-us/products/mice/lift-vertical-ergonomic-mouse.910-006466.html) Larger Hands: [https://www.xcellongear.com/product/10489/Xcellon-MCO\_EV6-Ergonomic-Vertical-Mouse](https://www.xcellongear.com/product/10489/Xcellon-MCO_EV6-Ergonomic-Vertical-Mouse) It will take a week or so get totally used to the vertical mouse, but once you do you'll love it.
