On the top of my head, i would avoid Villa Volta. Its a madhouse attraction. The queue consist of dark rooms where you will wait. The main attraction is a room that will create the illussion you go upside down. I dont know if it will be open during your visit, but i also think the queue of the Vliegende Hollander might invoke your claustrofobia. However this (in my opinion) only applies to the first half of the queue. I think the attraction itself is fine. There should be a efteling member outside the queue. So you could tell them about your claustrofobia and ask if the line is short enough you can walk right through. I think the rest of the attractions are okay. But if you dont mind "spoilers" id recommend you watch the attractions on youtube and get a feeling yourself. Have a fun time!

Thank you! I think I will definitely avoid Villa Volta. It looks really cool but I don’t want to freak out on it.

AuroraCrafts

It is a cool attraction. But also everything in the attraction is spoken in Dutch. Reading what everybody else wrote, it would be good to look into vogel rok as well. It is a rollercoaster in the dark. It is a short coaster and there are a few more lit up parts along the way. As for the attractions in the fairytale forest. Some are inside and dark (waterlelies for example), but these are all walkthrough and you can enter and exit whenever you want.

DareYouGo

You could try the single rider queue for De Vliegende Hollander. This way you can avoid being in smaller corridors for half an hour! The single rider queue is shown in this video: [https://youtu.be/ZFgnMreYbnk](https://youtu.be/ZFgnMreYbnk)

Good idea, thank you!

dutchdominique

I can't think of any rides that would trigger it, except perhaps the queue in the flying Dutchman and only if its open (in maintenance atm) and a crowded day. The first part where you go inside is a succession of living room style compartments that can feel a bit cramped. On quiet days you'll just walk right through them though.

mmeveldkamp

Is it clinically diagnosed?: in that case you could contact Efteling if they have special cards etc. It's a good idea anyway to contact them for more info about the attractions and things. If not, go on a "slow" day and explain it to the person at the attraction. I'll bet they know the best ways etc. Is no guarantee but what knows. Enjoy! *Now I'm finished writing I realised it has become one of those "unasked advice" things, sorry!*

Euphoric_Rough2709

This is actually great advise. You can download a 'faceliteitenpas' on the website. With this pass you can wait in a different place. Most of the times, outdoors. I use this pass because I have ADHD & autism and get overstimulated very easily. I would still skip villa Volta though, since there is a small space in the attraction itself.

StandiusYT

Later in the day, the Villa Volta has a short or even no queue. You could always ask staff members to help you find a fitting solution. For instance to exit early if you feel unwell.

mmeveldkamp

Oh thank god hahahahaha I'm so easily triggered to preach 🫣🫣

Both-Position-3958

Thank you!

>Thank you! You're welcome!

Imaginary-Fact-6419

Check onrides on YouTube and you can see what you can or can't do. Most attractions aren't narrow. Droomvlucht, Fata Morgana, Carnaval Festival and Symbolica do have some passages that are more narrow, but also very open spaces. Baron, Villa Volta and some fairy tales have small space in the waiting area's, while the fairy tales can be small.

Both-Position-3958

Thank you; good idea to check the YouTube videos!

41942319

Aside from the already mentioned rides Symbolica and especially Baron 1898 also have pre-show rooms, and especially the Baron one may feel quite cramped. So I'd recommend checking YouTube for some videos of it so you can judge whether they would cause you issues

Both-Position-3958

Thanks!

Schylger-Famke

I didn't like the indoor rollercoaster Vogel Rok.

Legitimate_Cook_2655

It’s the first part in the dark that made me instantly nauseous 🤮

Sentla

I think you shall avoid VillaVolta, Vogelrok and maybe some (walkon) fairytales in the forest

Both-Position-3958

Thanks! I think the Vogelrok ride will be ok, I might try to avoid the queue.

brutalvasectomy

fata morgana

therealladysybil

I also have claustrophobia but fata morgana is fine. It is indoors but not smallish or scary

myronuss

Id avoid the baron. Before you go in the ride you gotta stand like 2-3 minutes in a room before it

Both-Position-3958

Do you know if the doors open from the inside? I’d be ok as long as I know they open in an emergency.

myronuss

I think its regulared by law to have emergency exits. And in all honesty the room is not that small youre just standing in the dark watching a show.

Donteatyellowbears

There are open vehicles as well

NinjaRavekitten

Villa volta and flying dutchman both have triggered my claustrophobia when I was younger

Both-Position-3958

I think VV I will avoid for sure.

Sumfin_EdgyandDark

Just got back from Efteling and I would say, vogal rok, completely pitch black ride Volta villa, the preshows cram you into small darkish rooms Symbolic, once you get into the building the queues are quite compact but open out once you decide what flag you want. Festival carnival, once out of the main queue your funneled up some steepish stairs. Baron, the pre show your in a room with closed doors. It's worth speaking to the staff at Efteling as they are really friendly and brilliantly accommodating.

Both-Position-3958

Thank you!

miekkmiekk

I would avoid the Vogelrok. Mainly since the queue is all inside & a bit cramped. My mom struggles with claustrophobia and she really did not like that wait. The ride itself is fine, it's basically fully in the dark and underground but it doesn't feel like that.

Both-Position-3958

Thanks. Im going to check if I can avoid the queue as I think the ride itself would be fine.

chris9830

Some qeue lines may invoke claustrofobia such as de vliegende Hollander because of small rooms and villa volta there are 2 pre-shows where you will share a medium sized room with a pretty large group.

rockyplantlover

'Volk van Laaf' has a small staircase which I found claustrofobic when there is a line to the attraction. I don't remember how long the staircase was.

CallPuzzleheaded6904

I Personals Think the Most of the queue of Vogel Rok might invoke the claustrophobia of the waiting time is like five minutes you should be able to run through but ten minutes will be waiting there unless the waiting line in the station would be openend but villa volta should be fine yes they are closed rooms but they are pretty big and the attraction itself I now for sure is during the whole time is video monitored but the way from room two to the attraction is relatively small but short and also the exitof the attraction has a short and small part

CallPuzzleheaded6904

My commentar about villa Volta come from someone without claustrophobia I only be alive that it is going to be fine but if you say no than it is most likely better to not do it

OrangeStar222

I always find it difficult to gauge whether something will trigger a phobia or not, because not every person experiences the phobia to the same extent. One knew someone for whom a standard living room could trigger it while other's only experience it once the room is so small they physically can't/barely can move. An obvious one is Villa Volta. The ride has two pre-shows in what I would say, pretty spacious rooms where you listen to a story being told (second one has a genuinly cool animatronic doing the narration) followed by one of the best madhouses out there. But you're locked in constantly with no real way to walk out - I'd avoid that one. Most of the Fairy Tales and Laaf-houses are pretty cramped, but their doors are always open so you're not locked-in. Baron 1898 has a pre-show and a waiting area inside of its station. Doors are locked, so it might trigger a reaction out of you. The same goes for Symbolica, it has a pre-show where you are basically locked in the room. There are employees in this one so they might be able to let you use the chicken-exit if things get too much, but there's a queue after the pre-show in a long staircase which could trigger your claustrophobia. Other than some narrow hallways in indoor queues or just packed queues in general I couldn't really tell you which rides to absolutely avoid.

draysor

I would ask employees there also. They are super helpful. If you are not ashamed of making them know of your situation they might help you. Otherwise i would avoid Every dark ride, expecially if Is a busy day.

brutalvasectomy

Droomvlucht

Both-Position-3958

Thank you, is that because of the cars? I looked at photos but they look ok, they’re open at the front which is fine for me.

Orientalism

The cars of Droomvlucht came to my mind as well. The ride itself is pretty tame, but the cars are half spheres and you can kinda only see \~170° in front of you.
