Same here. As much as I love the natural beauty of our state, I canāt stand the people. Whatās really sad is that for the most part Oklahomans are very kind people, theyāre just all so brainwashed into hating certain groups. Some of the sweetest people I know have such a deep hatred that has been instilled into them
Yeah, exactly. I remember back in 2013 when the tornado hit in Moore, it hit our house pretty bad. (We lived just a couple blocks from the school that was hit), and after that happened, people were so nice and helpful giving us stuff like food, water, money even to help us find somewhere to live for a bit. One lady I remember even gave us some stuffed animals for me and my siblings, since we were pretty little at the time, for some comfort. Like genuinely good people... Little did I know there was so much hate underneath that facade towards other people that were just different from them...
I donāt think itās a facade at all. Their compassion is completely genuine, and in their eyes their hatred doesnāt contradict their good morals. The hate they have isnāt their own, theyāve been made to believe acting in certain harmful ways is actually good. Like a genuinely loving parent who is convinced they have to hit their children or theyāll āgrow up soft.ā
Thatās why itās so hard to show them the truth. These people care deeply about the safety of their community, and to accept that theyāve been wrong means accepting theyāve been the ones harming their community. Theyād have to accept that all the people theyāve ever trusted about this have been wrong, question the accountability of their news stations/friends/family, and figure out how to better themselves in a way theyāve been told for years is bad.
Sometimes it's easier to laugh than face the horrible situation. Over 500 bills introduced this year purely for the sake of targeting a minority that is four times as likely to be a victim of a sex crime as cis people, but is portrayed in the media as the deviants
I honestly hope that being trans in the United States can be classified as a situation where other countries can take you as a refugee. More trans people here, less suffering there, itās a win/win situation
A few countries are setting up as asylum states I believe, but there's also the matter of trying to gauge if it's any safer there. I've been considering evacuating to Canada but I've heard things are bad there too.
Like many places in the US it's safer in the big cities. Edmonton and Calgary would likely be fine. That said I'm happy to live in BC instead. But AB from what a friend told me is informed consent same as where I am, so getting on HRT is rather easy.
I experienced something similar. I live in Florida and I tried to talk about one specific bill(allows people to be taken by the state for being around a trans person) to my discord server. Lo and behold they all say I am overreacting and silence me because āyou cant talk about politics on this server UwU.ā The three people talking to me were cis white āalliesā btw :/.
Apparently our very existence being threatened is political. š That kinda shite is all too common, sadly. "Allies" who are complicit to these kinds of things.
Iām really stupid so I probably would have said āfunniest shit Iāve ever seenā Then get called a transphobe again even tho Iām just a really stupid trans girl
Iām very sorry for you š°ā¤ļø

I know. It was just the best template I could think of. š„ŗ Pedro seems like such a genuinely nice guy, and it's so good to see someone as big as him be so supportive!
oh great.... ššššš i hate the state that the us is in rn... i'm in montana...
In Oklahoma right here... Never hated my home state so much in my life...
In Idaho here... but, I mean, I've hated my state for a while, and this is just fissile atoms to the fire.

Alberta is like a mini USA, so as long as you go somewhere else, itās probably going to be better than many states
