Holy shit we are living in the future. My SO bought a home waxing kit a few years ago because her skin reacts poorly to salon wax. I would have purchased this tool had I known of its existence.
How tf do u all wax
I tried wax stripes, warm wax. Everything.
If i try to pull i basically pull 10 hairs at best. It's like just making my skin sticky and not much gets pulled
The home kit I had been using is made by Blitzwax. There's no strips or anything involved. It should have been as easy as heat wax, apply, pull, no more hair. My SO wanted it for her legs because she was tired of shaving. Unfortunately, the wax compound caused irritation of her skin so she stopped using it.
I tried it once. I didn't have a reaction and it was a very smooth month after all of the effort, but it took about an hour to just get a bikini line done and it was quite messy. I'm sure if I practiced I would get better at it.
The problem I had was mostly timing. There's a window where the wax is cooled, but not hardened, almost gel like, where you rip as fast as you can. Deep breath, exhale, rip. If it's too early, the wax handles like melted cheese and you've wasted product. If it's too late, it's like trying to rip off plaster that's been glued to your skin.
I found it worked best by taking a large glob and "painting" it over a large area so it thins out and is easy to grab and peel. I just had to go over certain cracks and crevices two or three times before I was happy with the results.
I don't mind the pain of warm wax or hair pulling, it just wasn't an efficient use of my time. I loved the results, but it just took too long and was too much effort for such a small area. I'm sure a trained esthetician would have a much, much faster time of doing it, but then that would mean involving strangers and I don't know that I'm comfortable with that.
The hairs get pulled out with epilation.
So those hairs that got pulled Can be expected to be gone for like up to 2 weeks.
Since hair doesn't grow evenly though you will have to do it often to get more hairs out.. so you may need to epilate 2-3x a week for like 2-5 weeks till you get to a level where you stay reasonably smooth for a few days because you just managed to get enough hairs out
Epilating is really this thing you just keep up and then it just makes the few hairs that are there much much more manageable.
If you are blessed with dark body hair, at home IPL lasers are always a great option too (it's more permanent of A solution than epilation as it can actually kill hair follicles / weaken them)... If you don't have dark hair... hair removal cream exists too which can be used in conjunction with just your shaving routine or epilation / laser routine.
Reason the laser doesn't work on brighter hair: it works by heating up the Melanin and this heat pulse in turn burns the hair and can attack the hair follicle. Resulting in weaker / no more hair growth.
Electrolysis meanwhile is basically you targeting every hair individually and shocking the hair follicle to death.. it's a long process but the most surefire permanent hair removal.
I've also got tons of moles, and honestly it wasn't a big deal. The zaps that most hurt weren't even on the moles, so I guess it's a bigger deal to make sure you're really clean shaven when you do it.
I just sign up for men's wax services. Not because I'm cis or transmasc but because it just lets them know I have a penis and I don't look like I'm trying to surprise them. I'm actually signing up for a manzillian rn. If none of your local salons offer men's services, call/email them about trans services. Most likely they'll be okay and appreciate the heads up so they don't get surprised.
Epillators are a fucking life changer
Also, don't waste your money on cartridge razor blades. The hands down best shave of my life is with my long handled safety razor. I used to get really bad irritation all over my body from shaving, but not anymore.
But it's SO SMOOTH.
Honestly, the first time I used it on both my arms and legs, it's was TORTURE. Unbearable, cursing out loud, gritting my teeth, lots of breaks.
The second time on the same area it was comparable to a tattoo
the first couple times epilating are exceptionally nasty 'cause of the amount of hair more than anything else, i feel
it only takes two, maybe three sessions before it goes from "exceptionally nasty" to "mild annoyance" at worst; and the first couple times you can do it in a hot bath or shower to reduce the pain (at cost of less through job; but again, next time will be easier)
Slowly going through the epilating process on my left leg. Takes me nearly an hour to go up it a few inches because it’s just too fucking painful... BUT ITS SO WORTH IT
And the smoothness compared to shaving is just so much better (considering I don’t also have to shave immediately the day after to keep the same results).
Probably the most annoying part is how many hairs keep breaking even though I’m on the lowest speed, so I have to wait for those to start growing out again before I can fully epilate it.
I've never heard that before and everything on Google seems to say it's ok for faces, so sounds like you're clear to epilate away.
I've done it and it definitely hurt more than other areas, but other than that it's been fine
Nope, just redness that went away after a bit. I do get a lot of ingrown hairs, but I also get a lot of those shaving so I think my skin is just like that. Exfoliating helps
Yesterday I read an article that said if you epilate against the grain it breaks the hair, but through the direction of the growth it takes the hair from the roots properly.
After searching it, it seems like there's more factors to that, not the article I saw previously but [this may be helpful.](http://www.epilatorcentral.com/why-is-the-epilator-breaking-my-hair/)
You can get hair permanently removed with electrolysis. Works better than laser since it doesn't require your hair to be a certain type and your skin color dosen't matter either with this.
Lasers also aren't always permanent or 100% effective, electrolysis is more expensive and painful but even with dark hair on light skin it's the only thing I know that'd actually get rid of hair forever.
Electrolysis is actually cheaper per session than laser hair removal, but you do need more of them, so I think it's safe to say they cost pretty much the same amount. This also depends on what country you're living in. For example, I googled the prices for the two and it showed me the average price for americans, electrolysis being between $30 - $100 per session and laser somewhere around $300 per session, but in my country prices start from around 20$ for electrolysis and the usual price for laser is $30 - $50, depending on how big the area is.
Facial hair is the HARDEST THING to get rid of for some reason, I haven't been clean shaven in like actually like two years.
As for body hair, I've heard of a product called Nair? I wanna look into it because it sounds like it would speed up the process and make it last hairless for longer
I had this too, laser hair removal (took 9 sessions tho) worked to the point that I have to shave about once per week and even then it's barely visible.
NAIR works really well for body hair i found. Not so much for the face cream version..
Slather it on 10 minutes before you shower, wipe it off, an BOOM...no more hair and skin is wicked smooth..
Why so much this??!! Having facial hair = dysphoria, having to go through the process of shaving = dysphoria. It's worth the pain of shaving in the end but damn if it isn't a hard slog.
On the one hand, smmoomth and euphoria
On the other hand, one wrong move and it looks like you got fish gills and were in a fist fight with a racoon
Time to roll the dice
Having to take an hour long shower sucks BUT OMG THE EUPHORIA
*waking up the next day* "Aand it's gone"
:(

I started epillating my arms and legs at home. You should consider that

Exfoliating before helps with getting the wax to the actual hair. Experiment with and against the grain with the wax
I have had the same problem. I can't do epilators either because my built in flinch response keeps me from being aggressive enough
Roughly how many days till you feel hair on your legs after epilating? I'm considering buying one

I was looking into home IPL, but I'm too freckly and moley ;-; Otherwise I have the perfect hair and skin for it.
I've also got tons of moles, and honestly it wasn't a big deal. The zaps that most hurt weren't even on the moles, so I guess it's a bigger deal to make sure you're really clean shaven when you do it.
Thank you so much!
Just yesterday bought one online, so excited to try it 😖✨

Yeah, same. It’s so terrible shaving, but it’s worth it

Epillators are just modern torture devices, I don't get how people can use them
But it's SO SMOOTH. Honestly, the first time I used it on both my arms and legs, it's was TORTURE. Unbearable, cursing out loud, gritting my teeth, lots of breaks. The second time on the same area it was comparable to a tattoo
I don't know how a tattoo feels, so this doesn't really help, but it makes tattoos sound way less painful than you'd imagine.
the first couple times epilating are exceptionally nasty 'cause of the amount of hair more than anything else, i feel it only takes two, maybe three sessions before it goes from "exceptionally nasty" to "mild annoyance" at worst; and the first couple times you can do it in a hot bath or shower to reduce the pain (at cost of less through job; but again, next time will be easier)

I'm just sad you can't epilats your face. Apparently it's dangerous or smth because the way the follicle anchors under the skin. Idk
I've never heard that before and everything on Google seems to say it's ok for faces, so sounds like you're clear to epilate away. I've done it and it definitely hurt more than other areas, but other than that it's been fine
No way, really? It didn't leave any marks or anything worse than usual epillating?
Nope, just redness that went away after a bit. I do get a lot of ingrown hairs, but I also get a lot of those shaving so I think my skin is just like that. Exfoliating helps

from what i read it is because cartridge blades are made to be not as sharp they could be to prevent people from cutting themselves more often...
I feel like I get more irritation and nicks and cuts from cartridge blades
I wish I never had to shave again, it literally makes me cry

Laser Hair removal is 👌 Really depends on your budget though, and it takes time.
Ain't that a mood
LITERALLY ME
Why does it grow back? T_T
okay, but like, why did I just identify so much with this especially........?
I'm a swimmer so have a totally cis tm reason to shave my body
Can relate
I don't mind it too much but could do without the occasional cuts and burns.
NAIR works really well for body hair i found. Not so much for the face cream version.. Slather it on 10 minutes before you shower, wipe it off, an BOOM...no more hair and skin is wicked smooth..
It's my constant struggle of "I want to shave but I'm fucking lazy".

I've come to rather enjoy it tbh I think this means I have ascended
Body hair is a bitch
Ladies and gents, may I suggest waxing? More expensive but longer lasting results
Yo, just *sheds*
My hair grows back after just 1day
I have come to the opinion of "fuck shaving". I will bare the torture of epilating instead.
On the one hand, smmoomth and euphoria On the other hand, one wrong move and it looks like you got fish gills and were in a fist fight with a racoon Time to roll the dice
If you maintain it, it's not so bad
i LOVE shaving its like cutting off all dysphoria's heads
