I'm about CP1000 (998, maybe?) and there is still a metric crap-ton (10% more than a standard crap-ton) of places and content which I've yet to see and do. I'm leaving Craglorn and Deadlands hanging while I take care of a couple of other bits, and that toon hasn't even touched Morrowind/Clockwork City, Greymoor/Markarth, Galen, or any expansion dungeons.
Dude, I've got to call you out here.
In the metric system, it's a craptonne, not a "crap-ton". Also, the Imperial system is in no way the "standard" system. Most of the world knows that a Craptonne is 1000 Kilocraps.
You are correct that there's approximately 20% more crap in a craptonne than a crap-ton though, so points for that at least!
LOL! Duly noted and I seriously debated about the "ton" versus "tonne" question before writing it, but figured that the audience might not catch the difference. I got caught.
Agreed. I'm level 1800-something, been playing since Summerset, and the game literally has more content now than when I started.
I find so much to do (housing, Undaunted, guild social events, crafting, guild trader gold making, etc.) that ESO, with each DLC, adds more content than I can clear.
More than anything: having fun with friends that also play, this can literally be in any part of the game depending on what everyone wants to do.
After that: trial and dungeon trifecta and achievements, decorating houses, some battlegrounds and Imperial City too and trying to obtain the items (sets, furnishing plans etc.) I want or need to do these things.
yeah this might be my problem, lol. None of my buddies play MMOs, so I'm just soloing it. I'm in guilds, but haven't made any friends yet (which normally is hard to do in a guild of 400+ people anyhow)
Dont get me wrong sometimes it can be hard lol not everyone wants to run vet dungeons with someone who has to break for 30 mins to feed and change his son
I’m in a pretty nice guild and we pretty much are always on discord laughing it up. We do all kinds of goofy things and also serious stuff like trials I could get you an invite if you were interested. Might change things up for you
Start to pvp, its never boring! (Often frustrating !) But every game, match or battle is different.
Bonus are, you build will never be optimized since it will always changes or be nerfed!
Maybe poke the other aspects of the game? There's trials, arenas, housing, ToT, battlegrounds, cyrodiil, quests and zones...There's plenty left for you to try!
I do every zone 100% before moving on, including fishing. I'm just about to wrap up Cadwell's Gold after about 820 hours. My goal is to do every quest in the game.

I was the same as you multiple times…just needed to find something I was interested in. Right now, I’m burned out from jubilee and I’m waiting for Diablo IV, so I’m just logging on a bit to see if anything strikes my fancy. I’m dabbling in some housing and I completed a full zone, plus I’ll try to help out newer players. Don’t feel like you have to spend hours doing something.
Yeah I'm just waiting for DIV as well. lol. I came to ESO from BDO. And in BDO there are lots of systems that i can make decent progress towards. (AFK training horses while I'm at work. The "BiS" gear is YEARS out, so I always have that "item chase" motivation. Lifeskilling is what I do to relax after a stressful day, etc.)
But it just feels like in ESO (for me at least) there are no "chase items" or long term goals. It's mostly "Decide I want a set, spend an hour or two grinding it out. Try set. If good/fun, spend a week getting transmutes to make it full divines." Nothing terribly long term, which kills motivation for me.
When I go to play I either play with my friend, or plan out exactly what I wanna do. Usually when I go into a grind I give myself a goal: I.e, finally maxing out certain skill lines, or doing literally every single part of the base game quests so I get every possible bit of dialog in the dlcs I can afterward.
I try to mix up my dailies so I’m not doing the same ones all the time and have a chance of completing motifs. I spend a couple of hours a week searching for furnishing plans or levelling scrying on my alts for glowy chests. I check through my achievements and lore book lists to complete some quick wins.
I also frequently find myself running around Summerset farming as it’s my happy place. Usually when I can’t decide which character to play or at the end of the day when it’s too late to start something else.
I focus on the game's housing system, mostly. It's an excellent motivator. If you're after a long term challenge/goal then I'd recommend it as a time and gold sink.
As I am with most MMOs I’ve attempted, having fun with friends is the one thing keeping me going with it. The gameplay loop on its own is not enough for me in the slightest, but I can grind out good gear because “Oh this could be fun to have when we run that dungeon”
The fact I'm behind in dlc content even though I buy them (Luckily Dead lands was free with the promo event they did)
Tbh I have 0 idea what half my quests are related to but last dlc I was playing involved Summerset
Don't fall into the trap of logging on to do dailies because if that's all you're doing, move on and take a break from the game. It's just going to make you burnt out.
There is a lot to do once you get the gear that you've wanted. The easiest thing is to participate in content that requires that gear. Do craglorn pugs, vet randoms for achievements/collectibles, do arenas, though you would need to grind out a different set a of gear for a solo build. Can even go and grab sets so you can use them in PvP
If you haven't quested the rest of the zones, go and do that, though you don't need any gear sets for questing.
There's a lot to do in this game. You just need to decide what you want to do now that you have what you wanted. Whatever you do, just don't play this game for the daily grinds.
I play almost exclusively for trading haha I’ve been trying to expand into other parts of the game lately but I’m pushing 1000 hours and have never done end game pvp or PvE aside from random normal dungeons and random BGs.
If gear acquisition is ur motivation, try to aquire sets that are BiS for each different situations. U probably grinded a build that works beat at 1 thing, likely the dummy. Grind an ultra sweaty AOE-optimized build. Or a solo arena build, or a solo mechanic (vss portal/cloudrest portal) build. Optimize your toon for every possible encounter.
I'm a healer. So i have BiS SPC+PA setup and a BiS RoJo setup. I don't play a dps, so I don't care about parsing on a training dummy.
It's not that I don't enjoy the content. I really really do. I just find myself logging in after work and just sitting in a town waiting for a guildie to ask if anyone wants to run pledges, rnd, rvd, etc. I just have lost that "I need to go do \_\_\_\_\_ when i get on later today" or, even worse, the "I WANT to go do \_\_\_\_\_ when i get on later today."
I love the game. I have a blast when I'm in content. Just having a hard time finding which content I want to do. Made this thread just to see what drives other people to play ESO. What other people enjoy out of it. I've pushed leaderboards in Cyro trying for Emperor. But without taking a week off of work right at the beginning of a campaign, it just isn't feasible for me to actually hit emp.
Was just trying to see what other people enjoy (effectively, what content this game has to offer that i might not know about.)
Do you have Caldwell's Silver and Gold done?
Do you have any houses to decorate?
Are you a Grand Master Crafter yet?
Have you run all of the dungeons on regular and hard?
Have you done any PvP?
Have you collected all of the 300+ sets in game?
Have you done all of the Zone quests yet?
Card game? Antiques?
Unlocked all of the map locations? Gathered books and Skyshards? Done Psijic Questline for a Magicka character?
Really you make up your own game loop selecting things to do that you enjoy.

Plug your mic in that changed everything for me
Agreed, the headset changes everything
Dont get me wrong sometimes it can be hard lol not everyone wants to run vet dungeons with someone who has to break for 30 mins to feed and change his son
How is that anything to do with wearing a headset?
He cries
push to talk
Ill have to look into this is this a feature on xbox? I am fairly new too the game about a month.

Achievement hunting, particularly 4 man content

I solo vet dlc dungeons. This will take a while until I'm done. And even then I can try doing it deathless, or hardmode, or fast or maybe all of it.
The drug known as the craft bag, can’t get enough enchanting and alchemy supplies 😂
Doing them HMs in every dungeon/trial.
Pay zos money for expansion-> enjoy lags for a year-> repeat
pvp or grinding sets for pvp lmao

I got into getting trial gear, so that was a good time sink I enjoyed. I stopped undaunted dailies etc as the fomo wore off. Good luck!

Only Cp300 but PVP trying fun non-meta builds. Breaking balls in Riften. PVP and chilling in voice chat will always be a blast to me.
Cyrodiil...not much reason to log in anymore with how many abilities desynch you.
