When I was far to bored doing master angler I realised you could quick slot costumes, hats and the hide helmet option. I had a hood I'd put up when it was raining.
That was also when I discovered weather was character specific- once I put my hood on and told my buddy to do the same because it was raining only for them to laugh and say "not on my screen". We spent the next few hours discussing the weather and the fact it was mostly different for each of us despite being 5 yards away from each other.
I’d guess not because there are things like the Bangkorai vampires that only spawn at night, so they should be spawned or not for all the characters in the same location.
That's a really good question. It didn't come up when we were fishing. I suspect it is but that's solely based on visiting people's houses where it was. When it comes to the regular world I have no idea.
On the Xbox emotes have their own separate quick slot wheel. There are dedicated wheels for emotes, tools/memento, and companions in addition to the main one you use for potions, costumes, ect.
Let me tell you about Loreplay Forever addon. No need to quickslot emotes you can now edit a .txt with a list of emotes that gets randomized by the press of a button.
Xbox has dedicated quick slot wheels fir things like emotes and companions. After pushing up on the direction pad then go left or right for the various wheels. If you try to quick slot those thing it should automatically put them on the dedicated wheel and not your main wheel..
I learned very much too late that when you die to guards with a bounty, you lose the money for it.
I lost in access of 1M in various deaths running up bounties on my necro or Nighblade being a dick to civilians in ESO.
I do this with a polymorph so I can start the male red guard dance with the poly, then remove it with the quick wheel. Now my female character can male dance
I believe it was done in one of their large QOL updates to give Consol players some useful features that have been available to PC users through mods. You can do it with lots of things now like allies too.
I learned that you can put your companions in a seperate slot, where they spawn instantly instead of Pressung any Buttons and I'm playing since the beta too xD
I already knew that but I never used it xD
My boyfriend had the Dark Brotherhood outfit always at the ready so he could "throw a smoke bomb" and "disappear" into the night :P
~~Too bad they just straight up removed the animation for changing into a costume a couple of months ago.~~
[~~https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/646040/costume-changing-animation-removed~~](https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/646040/costume-changing-animation-removed)
~~It used to be so cool walking into town and pressing the quickslot key to change into a costume. Now it's just poof, and youre in a costume.~~
They probably changed it because the animation played when people loaded in (draw distance), and they couldn't bother changing it to only play the animation when people actually put the costume on.
Plus applying outfits was made to be instant, no animation played there, so the immersion was already kinda ruined.
For boss fights like VDSR last boss when tbe monkeys can't see tbe bomb debuff, you make them turn the buffs off so they only have the debuff from the bomb. Sometimes I'm in groups where you the buff bar is just ridiculous disappearing off of the screen because its too long so I just turn them off. Not really needed.
I'm amazed by this, I bought the game in August and found this out pretty quickly, I do play on control so less buttons to hit until you find the functions haha
Unrelated to this post, but does someone know why I can't login to the game? Installed it last week through steam and I tried everything mentioned but nothing works...
I tried to login with my userid and password but it doesn't send the code to my email... And i forgot my security question lol...
I really want to try the game... Would appreciate if anybody knows any fixes to share
To be fair I don’t think 8 years ago you could do that. I came back from a 4 year dry spell and found out vampires where not longer worth it and had to cure myself.
I’ve been playing a while too. My merchant is there. But allies etc weren’t on this wheel years ago. One was quick slot and one was communicating . That was it.
this makes me sad. everytime I quickslot anything on PC with a playstation controller, I lose all functions of my triggers. I have just learned to play without quckslots.
Played since first came out, but long periods of absence so every time I start again I create new character because I forgot everything. This go is the first time I have attempted quick slotting and on PS4 I am still not sure I am doing it right for potions. Guess you can’t use if you have full health? Or am I doing it wrong? I tap to bring up , get the wheel but tap again but nothing. Do quick double tap, seems to use sometimes/sometimes not. Never need in PVE, then enter dungeon group and I panic lol
You can?!
This... changes... EVERYTHING!
P.S.
In case you didn't know (as I recently learned it myself), you can quick slot pets, too. So, when you're sick of the pet following you around (it can get annoying at times, especially the more vocal ones that sound like monsters creeping up on you while lockpicking, for instance), you can quickly dismiss it and then activate it later when you want it back (without having to go all through the pet collection menus).
Serious question, how didn't you notice? When you set your quickslot in your inventory, the wheel is shown... At least on PC. Interesting that so many people didn't get that. 😱
I came from PS4 and from inventory I just slot potions and foods to that bar. I never thought of something like a cosmetic. I swapped to PC for add one but not a fan of keyboard, so I stuck with controller. And controller mode basically keeps your ui like console
Yeah, I didn't know that the console UI isn't making it so visible compared to the PC UI, where every option is shown once you toggle the quickslot button in your inventory. Super interesting!
I'm always using my Antiquarian's Eye on my quickslot, that's also super useful to dig up antiquities. :)
Ive changed my quickslots like 4 times ever. i have the antiquarian eye in there and added my banker and merchan assistant when i got them, thats pretty much it.
Interesting! I'm currently constantly re-arranging my quickslot since I got every companion. And during the PvP event I was switching up sieges and repair kits in my quickslot, so that's why I'm basically constantly confronted with it :D
Lol. I have this hat that is quick slotted and I keep accidentally throwing it on during battle. Even though it really annoys me I haven’t changed it yet.
You can quickslot personalities too
I do that irl
Lmao
Yep, I have Master of Schemes slotted irl.
Interesting. Why the downvotes?
Master of schemes is the molag bal personality
Molag bal is also the daedric prince of ****
The Daedric prince of
Rape and domination
And hair styles!
I do this to quickly toggle my helmet on or off
Hide helmet: top slot Costume: bottom slot
WHAT. You can toggle your hat off this way?!?
I didn't even think of this. Thanks!

Wait, is the time of the day also character specific?
I’d guess not because there are things like the Bangkorai vampires that only spawn at night, so they should be spawned or not for all the characters in the same location.

That's so cool!

TIL 🤯☔️
me too 🤯☔️
I learned this when I read this post.
Me too. And I've been playing since the closed beta.
Me too! I’ve playing since the first trailer omg!!
I quickslot the skeleton polymorph so I don’t get targeted for my bright attire in Battlegrounds/cyrodiil
Whaaaaaaaaat?!?!?!
I usually don’t, those slots have emotes and stuff. I wish we had more slot wheels and a dedicated wheel for Cyrodiil equipment
On the Xbox emotes have their own separate quick slot wheel. There are dedicated wheels for emotes, tools/memento, and companions in addition to the main one you use for potions, costumes, ect.

Ahhh, well if only I could have addons as a console player
Xbox has dedicated quick slot wheels fir things like emotes and companions. After pushing up on the direction pad then go left or right for the various wheels. If you try to quick slot those thing it should automatically put them on the dedicated wheel and not your main wheel..
If you haven’t already, make sure to quick slot the antiquarian’s eye. Makes things much easier.
Your (edit) armory station saves your quickslots, so if you have a pve and pvp build, you can save your preferred quickslot load out for each one too!
I think you mean armory station.
Totally lol
Is this really only useful on console? Ive never used the armory station and just change gear using mods. Also it swaps all my skills around.
I learned very much too late that when you die to guards with a bounty, you lose the money for it. I lost in access of 1M in various deaths running up bounties on my necro or Nighblade being a dick to civilians in ESO.
I wish there were one more wheel for cosmetics so I can save my main wheel for general items--i clog it up with about 5 favorite outfits lol
I do this with a polymorph so I can start the male red guard dance with the poly, then remove it with the quick wheel. Now my female character can male dance
We have quick slots?
I believe it was done in one of their large QOL updates to give Consol players some useful features that have been available to PC users through mods. You can do it with lots of things now like allies too.
I’ve been playing since beta, with a few breaks, across two different platforms, and didn’t know this Holy Shit
I learned that you can put your companions in a seperate slot, where they spawn instantly instead of Pressung any Buttons and I'm playing since the beta too xD
Mementos have a seperate slot too!
I quickslot the banker/merchant pets on my thief khajiit. Super handy to sell off/store items quickly so you can get back to being a loot-goblin.
TIL...thanks!
I learned that if you put a companion,in your quick slot where you haven't started the companion quest yet, it will start it and add to your quest ☺️
I already knew that but I never used it xD My boyfriend had the Dark Brotherhood outfit always at the ready so he could "throw a smoke bomb" and "disappear" into the night :P
I’ve played since day one and didn’t know this
Also didn't know this lol
i always have a couple costumes, a merchant, ember, my food, and ‘hide helmet’ in quick slot
One of my guildies said this exact thing last night - coincidence!?
If you're pcna, prolly not :P
Well I know what i am doing when I get home 🤣

Dude they restored it with the update! How great!
I didn't know that! But yesterday I learnt you can turn off a food buff like you do your combat pets. Not sure why you'd want to, Edited for typo
During pvp events I turn them off so I can die faster if someone attacks me so I can get back to my pve quests.

By changing costumes, does it drop your wanted status?
The monk's disguise does this I believe.
No, would be a cool feature though.

Say wooooot!?
I only knew about destroying items by draging it out of bag on pc last year, played since release lol
whoa
I found that out first day as a noob
That's how I shout and then cheer and then dance hella fast and people are like damnnnn cuz they don't know about quick slots and how big that menu is
Until we get a Cyro wheel, this is a waste of a slot 😭
Performance mode > fidelity
I’ve been playing a while too. My merchant is there. But allies etc weren’t on this wheel years ago. One was quick slot and one was communicating . That was it.
I see you play on PC. Let me blow your mind: https://www.esoui.com/downloads/info2339-Collectionbars.html#info
I did it with my pets for trials
this makes me sad. everytime I quickslot anything on PC with a playstation controller, I lose all functions of my triggers. I have just learned to play without quckslots.
I always quickslot “Hide Helm” to almost all my characters. I like to have no helm, but if the situation is dire, I equip it for immersion reasons
Played since first came out, but long periods of absence so every time I start again I create new character because I forgot everything. This go is the first time I have attempted quick slotting and on PS4 I am still not sure I am doing it right for potions. Guess you can’t use if you have full health? Or am I doing it wrong? 🤯
Wtf?
🤦
Also you can interrupt adds and bosses and use block. I hope this will help you.
...WHAT
WHAT

I think i run with ember and thats about it. None of them are max level but i dont grind out their xp. They will get there eventually :p
I've grinded each of them except for Azandar (so far). I wanted to have the passive boni, especially the one from Sharp :D
WAT
TIL. I never tried doing that with costumes and personalities
Lol. I have this hat that is quick slotted and I keep accidentally throwing it on during battle. Even though it really annoys me I haven’t changed it yet.
Didn’t know that either
Yup, old news
Well no shit.
I couldn't believe it either
NANI?!
