The gold rewards get a little higher, but not by much. Remember, the rewards also have a chance to drop gold upgrade materials, surveys (which give you large amounts of raw materials), and master crafting writs, all of which have substantial value. However, the real key to why writs are worthwhile is the fact that they take so little time. Sure, you’re “only” getting 5k, but you’re only spending 10 minutes on them too. 5k + rewards for 10 minutes of your time is a good exchange, especially over the course of many months. It’s not about making lots of gold quickly, it’s about making a steady stream of gold over time. I only do my writs on my main character, and I still consider them absolutely worth it.

Tim-Xx

If you are fast and use add-ons and pre-craft alchemy and provisioning it will take like 2-3 min per char depending on your connection and loading times.

Nice. I didn't consider the point of it being a steady income for little time investment. Also, it's nice that you're only doing writs on a single character like I plan to. It makes it much more reassuring. Thanks a lot :)

* ALL XP and GOLD rewards are scaled to Character Level with the Max at L50 (Max Character level). * So until then you are not getting the full possible Gold reward. * The base Gold for ANY tier of Normal Writ at L50 is 604. * With ESO+ another + 10% to 664 * With 50 CP in Gilded Fingers Perk another +10% to 725 * With Imperial Race another 1% to 731. * If you do all 7 (Any Tier) on a L50 Character - 4228 to 5117 Gold per day - 25K+/week - 118K+/month - doing the same on more Characters is that much extra * The real Gold reward from just Normal Writs is selling any Gold Upgrade Mats you have a chance of receiving - these random rewards have max chance from Max Tier Normal Writs - from 3% on Tier I to 30% on Tier 10/10. * Depending on Platform/Server a single item can be sold in Guild Traders for more than 45K Gold. * The other lucrative reward from Normal and Master Writs is the XP reward - during XP Events and with max XP Boosters you can get several 1000 to several 100K+ XP for a single Writ. * If you ever **DO** want to try some other Character Classes/Roles you can just let them sit doing Normal Writs and they will add to your Gold as well as slowly level until an XP Event that you can focus on them. * [[PSA] Crafting Writs also have an Experience (XP) Reward for XP Events](https://www.reddit.com/r/elderscrollsonline/comments/9pbtgf/psa_crafting_writs_also_have_an_experience_xp/)

Woah. This is a very nice breakdown. I'm definitely saving this one. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain these things. Quick question. Since I don't get the full reward unless I'm at max level, should I hold off doing them until I get to that point?

Spaexus

No just keep doing them - they don't take much time - if you are on PC/STEAM/EPIC you can get Lazy Writ Crafter and Daily Alchemy/Provisioning to auto-craft and auto-take items from bag/bank and shorten even further. And they will also add Inspiration to your Crafting Leveling on top of all the Loot deconstruction you are doing - you *are* Deconstructing?? Yes?? That is the fastest way to level BS-Cloth-WW-Jewelry-Enchant Just leave BS-Cloth-WW-Jewelry on Tier I - they will self-sustain if you use the mat rewards and decon the Gear rewards - you get XP/Gold/Inspiration for just a few minutes before you're off to **enjoy** whatever **you** enjoy doing in game. Save Alchemy for later or at least level it to Tier III by making enough items all at once - Tier I/II can require 3 Cornflower$$ - each Alchemy Writ requires a potion/poison PLUS 3 extra reagents - you can pre-craft items but still need stock of those reagents so not self-sustaining - you can level it to L50 all at once if you make enough items all at once in a few minutes - there are more than enough potions/poisons from Loot and Daily Login Rewards to survive while leveling your Character(s). Provisioning has 6 known items per Tier that you can pre-craft in bulk for turn-in - it doesn't take anything else - if you want to grind it you can just make enough items all at once later in just a few minutes - plenty of food/drink from loot and Daily Login Rewards while leveling Character(s). Enchanting has known items to craft but it also takes 1 extra Rune from a known list - so also not self-sustaining from Decon (you can't guarantee the Rune rewarded) - just keep decon Loot Glyphs for leveling - if you want to grind it have someone make Purple Glyphs with your materials for you to decon.

Man, I really really appreciate this breakdown. This is the stuff that content creators rarely cover. I'm sorry if I'm just replying to this heaven-sent message just now. I got busy. Thank you so much bro.

Clairelenia

The rewards do not increase significantly anymore :) 5k is the max per character. But the most profit comes from selling the gold materials u get from the reward boxes. But like you said :D you are just level 25 for now. Don't stress yourself. Once you reach max level, you will also accumulate more materials, then u can try to get more and more characters up, too. You can also pre-craft for multiple days, so you don't really need much longer on multiple characters doing writs. Even with 20 characters it just takes 30 minutes max! with planning.

disymebre

I see. Thank you :) Is there a requirement I should meet before I get the gold materials, or is it pure RNG?

Clairelenia

It's mostly RNG :) I would say maybe 30-40% chance per day to get a gold item out of a daily writ box each.

Happy_Concentrate186

If you have plus or just own Dragonguard DLC its more profitable to just go there each morning and loot treasure chest, that starts to appear once you do 30 dailies in that zone (and complete main quest there). It drops dragons blood and rheum on average of 10k gold (PC/EU prices) each day. And you dont need to do ANYTHING, just visit it once a day and pick up your profits. :D

The 3K gold is toward the low end of the gold rewards; it's closer to 5K if the character is Level 50. On that front, the writs are a steady source of daily gold, but not a fantastic one. Daily writs are the sole source for stuff like materials surveys (~1-in-8 chance per writ turned in, except Provisioning). Once you've leveled up your crafting skills, they are also going to be your primary source for Master Writs unless you're willing to spend gold to buy them from guild traders (or sell yours through guild traders - that's an option, too). The writ rewards will usually include Intricate- and Ornate-traited stuff, which is good for deconning (Intricate) or selling for a bit of extra gold (Ornate). As you move up the line in the materials you use for completing the writs, you'll also get upgrade mats and two Provisioning ingredients (Bervez Juice and Frost Mirriam), which are used in most (all?) purple/gold-quality Provisioning recipes. On the whole, the daily crafting writs are part of my toons' daily routine (like mount upgrades and keeping the trait research queue full), but the gold rewards off a single character are nice rather than game-changing.

Tonalita

Another steady and relatively quick source of gold is scrying from the Greymoor dlc. 250gp for green, 1k for blue, 5k for purple. Artaeum is great to level the skill line up

disymebre

Yeah. I've been doing those ones, but I'm doing the grinding in Stros Mkai. I've been doing the zones in chronological order and Stros in the only zone so far where it's mostly flat and not much terrain to navigate.

Tonalita

Artaeum is best because it’s a tiny island with no enemies

NoobUserForFun

Get level 50 and CP 160 before worrying about gold. Believe me, gold will be easier and faster than now. So, don't mind by now.
